To me, coffee in the Northwest is like a bell curve. Some have found a Stargate combination of quality and service, some should not be in business, and everyone else falls in the middle like Cutter's Point. And it's a study in duality. Beautiful decor that cannot be enjoyed because its so god-awfully loud. Superficially friendly baristas, with no common sense. Free Wi-Fi, no where to sit. Convenient drive through, "Shoe fund" tip jar and expensive drinks. Seriously, with Panera Bread next door and Starbucks across the street, its almost as if they aren't even trying. read more

I'm a frequent flyer here and don't really use yelp or rather I forget to quite often. However this is a bit of a delayed review. Recently my friends flew out and visited and I offered to show them to my coffee spot. Which is cutters. My friends all fell in love with it and swear it's the best coffee they've had. They've been gone about a day now and I've received about 4 texts saying damn we may have to move to Washington just for cutters point. The funny part is one of them works as a barista. I've always been a fan of Cutters especially more than Starbucks. I work nights and I would stop on my way to work for my caffeine fix, but then you guys started closing earlier. A few months ago I showed up at my usual time and you guys were closed to find out you changed your closing hours to 8pm. Recently, I see you now close at 7pm. Heading north and realizing one needs a caffeine boost minutes after leaving Olympia requires a scramble to find anything that isn't Starbucks North of the capital. Fortunately, this location off the freeway came to the rescue. Cutters Point has ample seating, a beautiful fireplace for when it is cold outside, and warm inviting staff. Unlike their primary competition, they offer four different kinds of alternative milk including oat milk. Like their competition, they only use one shot of espresso per beverage. However, the espresso does not taste like battery acid, unlike their main competitor. Really glad we stopped here as they also have a selection of delicious gluten-free treats which put them miles ahead of the battery acid promoting, soy milk pushing, nasty-ass national chain. I'm bookmarking this location for future trips up north. read more

The baristas here are always friendly and nice and that's one of the reasons I like going here. The coffee is amazing too. They make anything you ask and they almost never get it wrong too. The "fraps" here are WAY better than Starbucks and actually have a great real coffee taste to it. read more

I've tried there mocha which was a bit meh? Nothing special... But their fraps are insanely deeeeelish! I only go there for their fraps. So far I've only had the caramel fudge brownie and coffee toffee crunch fraps. It was so good it made me dance! I have yet to try out the rest. I really enjoy the coffee here, especially the lavender latte. However, the drive thru takes too long. I ordered a 16oz drip with a splash of milk in it. It took me 8 mins to get to the window and once I did the employee was trying to hide behind the window but putting her head down. She started to fidget with the drinks then finally spoke to me. I had to tell her what I got even though it was the first drink in the line up. She seemed confused and also told me that the rest of the staff was going back and fourth. I'm not sure what that meant but the overall experience wasn't worth the cup of coffee. read more

I don't mind the atmosphere here. It's typcial Cutter's Point Coffee House-esque. It wasn't very busy when I stopped in for a beverage. There were 2 people ahead of me, 1 waiting for a drink and the other waiting to order. The girls were slow. Between figuring out what to make for the people in the drive-through and the people at the bar seemed mind boggling for them. I'm fairly certain the task of ringing up and making my beverage was delegated to 3 different people. Also, the last time I was in, they still didn't offer a dairy-alternative other than soy (I drink almond milk or hemp milk in my coffees, in case you were wondering). read more

Cutters point coffee is better than many places. You can count on a consistent cup of coffee across locations. This particular location is still a bit of a mystery to me, though I've been here several times. Of the locations, I love the set up and ambiance of this location best. They use their space well and have very quaint chairs, fireplace and other nautical themed decorations. Of the cutters point locations, this seems to have the least friendly staff towards its female customers. Not mean, just cold. If you are a man, you will be treated like a king. It's actually laughable. And as such, I am regularly the only woman in the place. This location is also frequented by Lacey police department and our wonderful veteran community, which I love seeing, so they must be doing something right. Be warned, if you're coming to work and enjoy a calm, quiet coffee shop experience, this is not the place. The high-ish ceilings and tile floor, which add to the ambience, do not make for quiet spaces. Every sound can and will be heard. But they have free wifi and a decent number of electrical outlets for your devices and sometimes that's all that matters. read more

I have been to the drive-through of this place many times. The coffee is delicious. However it was when I went inside for the first time to this location that I was truly shocked. I left the counter feeling horrified that I had drank coffee from there so many times. Now I will never return. The person who was taking my order (a Female with long dark hair) was simultaneously taking out the trash and tying it off, then relining the can... all barehanded. I figured they were going to walk to the left and wash their hands but stopped instead at the ice and cups and proceeded to start my drink. As I said, I became horrified. I very politely asked her if she's in the habit of taking out trash barehanded and then going right to making someone's drink. She quickly replied that she was "only putting ice in the cups, Not making the drink". I'm sorry but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard anyone say. The drink starts with the ice in the cup. By touching everything like the lid and ice scoop and a stack of cups with dirty trashcan hands she basically contaminated everything, and handing that dirty cup to the next employee who spreads it to the espresso machine, milk, etc. She asked me if I wanted her to make me another drink and I said I didn't want her to make me anything. Her concerned-looking coworker who was clearly much smarter offered to make a drink for me while the other employee washes their hands- with a huge attitude problem I might add. I explained I'm a tattoo artist and on my day off. That this is the first place I came. I work very hard to keep my shop and myself clean to prevent any type of disease transmission to my clients or myself. I feel that if I was not paying attention (or in the drive-through again) I may not have noticed that happened. She was super gross about it, seemed dismissive, and I can get coffee anywhere. I love Cutters so much :) The place is larger than I expect from a coffee house, their baristas are always friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. All of the drinks I've gotten here are DELICIOUS! This is hand's down my favorite coffee place in the area. My one complaint: I'm not a fan of the lids for their cold drinks. They leak too easily. I wish they had a reward system, like a punch card, but I love it so much that it doesn't even matter! They do not accept Discover but they take Visa and Mastercard. read more
