We finally have a wood burning fireplace again, so we were needing wood. Bought a few bags from the grocery store. It was a crap shoot if it would burn or not. Not even worth the $5 dollar a bag price. My wife saw Cuttting Edge on FB. We had a friend who had already used them, and highly recommended them. So, we decided to give it try. Yes, it is more expensive then the local store. Yes, you can drive and find someone selling it for less on their driveway. However, it was well worth the $260. They delivered within 5 days. They placed it exactly where I wanted it without them even bothering us during the delivery. The rack is great! Based on my experience with buying wood before, I would guess that it is about 1/2 a cord of wood. We have already used it and it burns amazing!! Love your fireplace? I do! I might even be a wood snob now after purchasing from Cutting Edge. Between fall and early spring I use my fireplace every morning. I love morning coffee and a relaxing fire to start my day. This year I noticed my dog was acting nervous while the fire was burning. Turns out that when the wood popped he was stressed by the sound. I assumed there was too much moisture in the wood that we purchased from a local big box store so I did some research (because I refuse to give up Folgers and Fire time) and found Cutting Edge. They kiln dry their wood thus reducing the loud pops and crackles. We purchased three types of wood (oak, hickory, and cherry) to figure out what we liked best. I love them all! Ordered 2500$ worth of wood and Never got the firewood after 2 weeks. It took almost a week to ship from their warehouse when it was supposed to be the same day. I Canceled the entire order after the tracking says its been within 40 miles of my house for the last 5 days but no one has any info or answers on Delivery date. I ride a motorcycle everyday for work that's why Delivery and Arrival date was important before I purchased or I would of bought more Local. Just ordered some of your wood. I'm glad to hear that you sufficiently dry it out with your extended 48 hour process. I will not burn mine until it gets colder so I cannot report on how well it burns. I can only comment on my initial impressive on the new buy. I was hoping that for 10 times the cost that the "hand selected" wood would be prettier with nicer cuts. I was disappointed to see that none of the pieces were display worthy to put by my mantle. When selling something that freely grows in nature, I thought I was buying something that had a much better presentation than this. On the plus side I had a great experience with my delivery as I was able to get a same day delivery. Also the website ordering process was good. You did a nice job on the website but your wood did not look like the website nor was it "display worthy." Now I need to find a place to hide this ugly wood until it is cold enough for me to burn it. It came in a pretty box though. I do not like that I did not see an option to opt out of the kindling. I do not want kindling....just firewood. Note that only one (1) of the pieces of firewood were large enough to accommodate your log branding burned on the side. All of the rest did not have the brand nor could they have accommodated the branding because they were too small. read more

I have had a wood fired pizza oven for a good six years or so and made it through all the bad pizza lessons you could imagine working the dough and other ingredients to craft the best pizza I could. I was frustrated over the years finding consistent, dry, clean wood in Maryland. I consider the wood part of the ingredients. It makes such a difference. I believe I have now found the perfect wood at Cutting Edge. Everything is in balance, temperature, flavor, and time. It burns across the whole stick, evenly lit, hot bright flame. Lights quick and easy. It took half the time to bring the oven up to temp, and half the wood. In fact I could control the temperature so easily with this wood because it was an immediate contributor of heat rather than taking heat to smolder and dry out before truly burning. The pizza tasted clean and crisp like it should. By far the best wood for any oven - I am so pleased I have found the right source! Being out of their delivery zone, I order and have it shipped. I called to place an order for wood to be delivered in a certain 2-hour window of time. Leroy left me a voicemail that said yes--they would be able to do that. Flash forward to the end of the delivery window and I have to call the receptionist and get the actual delivery guy to call me back--who apparently never knew that there was a delivery window that needed to be met. They charge $300 for a 1/4 cord of wood that was split into such small pieces that each piece barely lasted a few minutes. It was almost like kindling. They use several subcontracted companies so I guess you never know what you will get if you need a single order. Leroy called me to discuss my dissatisfaction with the order and said "hey I'm going to call the contractor and get back in touch with you this afternoon." Well, that was two weeks ago and I haven't heard back. The best reparation he was willing to offer was a discount on future wood--I didn't take it, considering I had to pay for wood that was stacked and delivered (and we had to un-stack it and move it ourselves because the contractor didn't have equipment to move the wood where it needed to go, let alone being almost an hour late which resulted in us wasting a couple of hundred dollars in manpower waiting around)--no thanks. I'll steer VERY CLEAR of this place from now on until forever. read more

I also had them assemble one of their wood racks and a cover which has been very convenient and has kept the wood clean and dry. The wood is so clean and easy to burn that we are enjoying many more fires than in the past. I order through the website and give them a delivery date. They call with a date confirmation and get the credit card I nfo. Never had a problem. No need to be home. They leave the wood stacked and cleaned up. read more
