For the first time in my life, I decided to get some major work done on my home. Among that was a…read morenew roof, new siding, and painting. I got quote from five different companies and I have to tell you I went with them mostly on the quote. Some things were similar to other companies, but overall was less. Allen and Michael came out to look at the house and discuss the project. They were great about answering questions and sent a quote in a reasonable amount of time. I also initially request quotes for new windows and doors, but I opted to pass on these projects for now. These quotes were also more in my price range than the quotes from other companies. Roof--no problems at all. I expected the roof debris to obliterate things planted near the house, but it was much, much better than I anticipated. Roof looks amazing and it was done quite well. Siding--the quality of the siding job is great. No complaints. It looks great. Painting--this was my favorite crew. Top notch. Excellent painting job and very careful around shrubbery and such. If I could give this group 10 stars, I would. Extra costs--I see that another reviewer complained of extra costs. I read the quote, which is to be signed like a contract, and it explicity lists the exact price they charge for extra things they find. For instance, it would cost me $X for each patch they had to make in the roof decking. I knew going in that the roof would cheaper than the other quotes and this may come back to bite me in the ass. They did, find 6 damaged spots (I know they were there and fully expected at least this much), so I paid $6X extra for these. It was outlined in the quote that way, so that's fair game. PLUS, it was STILL more reasonable than the other quotes. I also elected to have new attic vents installed at the last minute. Once again, I had the option to keep the old ones, but I appreciate they could get that done as part of the work without it being an issue. Obviously a family contracting business, and I am happy to support people in my community. I have to mention that Marilyn does a great job of keeping the business moving on schedule and communicating. Easy to deal with, even when I was being wishy-washy on some things. I would recommend Therma Guard to anyone needing this type of work done!

Brad, the foreman of the installation crew, was friendly, efficient and knows what he is doing, and Hayden, his helper, was polite and eager to help. They arrived on time and finished a day early. The system looks beautiful. We particularly appreciated their assistance in re-installing a porch swing and getting it adjusted to hang just right. (It's harder than it looks, for any of you who have not done it.) For that part of the job they used two very large eye bolts screwed into the support joists under the deck. With the under deck installed, all you see is the "eye" of each bolt, with a small grommet where it comes through the deck. A small detail, but that focus on safety coupled with attention to detail impressed us. When I misunderstood the scope of work on a minor add-on, Jeff immediately offered a solution that was acceptable to both of us. We highly recommend Rainaway.

(I know that wasn't easy on him!) He does almost all the work himself, and is very precise, with great attention to detail, very trustworthy and highly professional. I have referred him to a number of our neighbors - and always happy to give him a good recommendation to anyone who is interested in hearing more! On a personal note we haven't had great experience in the past with this sort of work. People never seem to care about the work they do and cut corners whenever they can. I would have really appreciated a phone call and for him to be honest and tell me that he thought the job was too small, which is obviously what the problem was. It is so frustrating to trust someone and get excited about work that's going to be done just to have them blame you then quit. He wanted half of the money upfront and I'm so glad I didn't give him a penny. Super disappointing and now I'm back to square one trying to find someone to do the job.
