I scheduled an appointment to get some highlights done to my hair on 8/12. Not sure name of the stylist but she had red hair. Right off the bat she began to use foul language insulting the condition of my hair, she said I "f**** it up." Whenever she spoke it was very aggressive and rude. The whole time she was cursing and making bad remarks about me and my hair condition. The whole time it seemed like she didn't want to be there, very bad attitude. She told me that she did not want to do my hair because of the box dye I had put in weeks ago. She said it would take to long and that she "Didn't have time for this today." She decided to not do it. The next day I walk into a different salon and they say it's a very easy fix, that they do it all the time, and that they would love to do it. Not sure what this ladies problem was. Will never go here again, terrible service by her. Rest of the stylists seemed to be nice and normal. read more

Writing this review for my 82 year old mom who had such a great haircut and highlights done yesterday by Hugh. She still has a dark base with just a touch of grey natural highlights ( I have way more grey than her!!!) In the past she's had problems getting highlights that turned out too orange and brassy. We took a chance not knowing anything about Hugh but knew The Cutting Edge has been around in A.G. for a very long time with a good reputation. Her hair turned out beautifully! I came into the salon recently and got my haircut by Johnny. I was hoping to get a pretty basic undercut. What a terrible experience! He honestly seemed like a nice guy but really messed up my hair. He rushed through the cut. He cleaned up some of the hair around/above my ears, but left other stray patches. After I got home I realized he left one side of my hair much longer than the other and didn't even line up my side burn areas. Maybe he forgot to finish one side? Regardless the whole haircut was uneven and sloppy. I'm super disappointed. This was one of the worst haircuts I've gotten in recent years. I've been more pleased with $5 beauty school cuts. If you're looking for a good men's cut, definitely look elsewhere! read more

I have been seeing FloLyn since she opened this salon, however I took a ten year break, due to finances. Coming back has been like coming home. She and her husband Tony treat everyone, clients and staff, like family. She cuts and colors my hair, and FloLyn is a magician, with a great eye for detail, style and color. When I change what I want, she always makes sure that it is flattering against my skin tone, and she always has a fun energetic vibe. I love going to this salon. I recently moved 40 miles north, but she is worth the drive, I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else. The staff always does their best to accomodate my appointment times. I made an appointment for a cut, color, and highlights with Pam. I let her know I wanted long layers and that I wanted the color to look great it had been a while since I had it done. She went to the back and I assumed that she was getting a book of swatches. She came back with color already mixed. This really concerned me because she had no idea how I wanted my color. Finally she got a book of swatches she didn't seem to know what she was talking about and kept saying "I've been doing hair for years." The owner was observing this the whole time. I have natural red tones in my hair that I complement with certain colors because there's no getting rid of it and Pam did not seem to understand this and was suggesting things that would not work and kept insisting she could get the red out of my hair which didn't matter at all as I didn't want it gone. I pay a lot of money to get my hair done I'm not going to sit in a chair for hours and hope and pray the woman who isn't listening to me gets it right so I left. As I left the owner had the nerve to say "her hair looks awful anything you did would have helped." I've never heard anyone speak openly about a client this way in a shop full of people. I came with my hair undone and unwashed because that's how your suppose to show up for color. I've never received such poor customer service or have been insulted at a salon. Worst experience ever. Don't come here these people do not care about your comfort or satisfaction. Revision: If you're paying $85 for the color alone you deserve to see a swatch book without any attitude. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. I had an awful experience here. The staff here is VERY rude, with a holier-than-thou, too-cool-for-school type of attitude. If you want to call this place "cutting edge" beacuse you're tough and "edgy", I guess the place is amptly named. Hey, I am okay with tattoos and peircings, I have some myself. It's the vibe that stinks. Not welcoming, not kind, terrible customer service. And when I complained to the owner about the rude staff and stylists, she stood up for the staff. You can't beat going to one of the original salon's in the 5 cities area. Most of the salons in the 5 cities have trained in this salon and learned from them. There's quality work equivalent to large cities with reasonable affordability. read more
