Selena is one of the best if not best hair stylist I've ever been to. She listens to what you want and executes it perfectly with some pretty cool techniques you don't see everywhere. I have paid an insane amount of money at some of the boutique salons in downtown SLO for a very mediocre haircut that isn't anything close to what I wanted. While at Renew salon they are very reasonable prices for what you get (45 for a haircut and blowout). It saddens me that I'm moving and can no longer see Selena, but I will make a point of returning during my visits. Pictures below is of my first haircut with her and I must say that I look and felt like I should be in a Pantene commercial. If anyones wondering what I asked for in this particularly look, it was 5 inches cut off the bottom, long layers all around, face framing layers, and some thinning out of weight. I can't believe she would let us leave the salon like this! We were charged $200 from Selena for this and it was requested to do a rose gold. If you can't do the color, just say you can't do it! I only received a $100 refund and you would think I'd get a full refund smh. Absolutely ridiculous! I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Heather has this wonderful space that feels posh yet cozy & intimate at the same time. Oh yeah, and she's a great stylist. To be fair, I'm only judging based on a cut. Heather is the best hair stylist I've ever had!!! She has an incredible mastery of color AND cut. The first time I met her, my hair was a mess. I had tried several reputable salons in town such as Bladerunner and Salon Tutta Bella and felt very frustrated with Stylists who did not listen to what I wanted. My highlights were always too brassy without much separation so that the length of my hair looked uniformly colored, not highlighted. I like to see my natural color (dark blonde) through the length of my hair. Instead, other Stylists kept weaving too many highlights with little regard for what strands had and had not been previously high-lighted. When I went to Heather my hair was a royal mess. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted and then she told me in detail what she would do before starting. She took her time to weave the highlights to the perfect thickness. She also did low-lights. Heather uses a golden-ash color for low lights which is AMAZING. The low-lights come out the perfect shade. No red tones. No green tones. Just the perfect shade to match my natural color. I've gone to her 3 more times since then. My hair keeps getting better and better. Now we don't even need low-lights because she takes the time to pick out mostly the strands she previously highlighted. Even though I have moved to the Bay Area I drive down (4-hours each way) for my appointment with Heather every other month. She is THAT good! read more

Heather helps me to be the best version of me and never tries to turn me into someone else, she is wonderful. I have used many of their services; cut, color, highlights, hair conditioning and love the product lines they carry. I found the most decadent, amazing and just yummy hair products on the Central Coast at Renew. But In contrast to that, I also get all natural (free of harmful chemicals) hair and body products for my little girls who have allergies to products.
