First-time home buyer here. Last time working with CV Escrow. What a dumpster fire. AVOID CV ESCROW Working with CV Escrow, specifically Julie Ekstrom and Araceli Blanco, has been a horrible experience. They have no business handling funds. It's nearly 2 months after we closed and I am still fighting them to reclaim escrow funds that they refunded to the seller instead of to me. To be clear, this was not accidental. This was negligence. I sent them the proper accounting several times, as well as receipts/canceled checks to prove that I had paid the items direct. And yet they still kept my money and then sent it to the seller. I'm still trying to recoup that now and CV Escrow is not helping or responding to emails. When she actually replies, Julie is wonderful. She seems to know her stuff, but is a terrible communicator, both with response time and with actual information given.  I told her from the start that this was my first time and she said she would help me through the process, but instead I've had to beg for status updates.  Araceli generally replies in a timely manner, but lacks attention to detail. She made crucial errors in correspondence with the lender (misspelling the buyer's name for the title, and then an incorrect date) which resulted in 2 failed notary signings. I would say BEWARE, but really you should AVOID. There are other escrow companies in Coachella Valley. Save yourself the frustration and choose ANY OTHER ESCROW COMPANY besides CV Escrow. read more

We just closed on our new house in Sun City Palm Desert. Cindy Mozingo and her staff handled our escrow. Our escrow was on a tight timeframe and we were not in the area. Our lender was out of the area as well. Cindy was our main Escrow Officer and was amazing! She communicated on a regular basis, many times well after regular business hours. She was calm even when we were almost over the edge. Cindy kept communications open and flowing with our lender through all the hoops, coordinated with our Realtor Agent, and communicated with us, all while not missing a processing beat!! Thanks to Cindy turning around our escrow package on a very tight timeframe, we closed escrow on time. She even stayed on a Friday night to get our package into Saturday FedEx. We have bought and sold several pieces of property over the years and have never had a more professional, competent, or personable Escrow Officer. If communication was oxygen, I'd suffocate dealing with this company. As a listing agent, working "hand in hand" with a good escrow office / officer is invaluable. However, Kristin Williams can't even take a moment to receipt in an email with important documents required to close escrow. She doesn't even respond to several emails and good luck getting her on the phone when you call - after a lengthy on hold time - I'm told she's "in a meeting" and everyone she works with is also unavailable. I do finally get to speak with a manager 'Cindy Mozingo' who basically says Mondays are tough and they are busy with other files. I guess not every customer gets the "highest level of client service" as promised on their website. read more

Just had one of the escrow officers from this company say, "Short sales aren't for everyone," when asked about the fees associated to close one. Guess what? Based on that response and attitude, "I guess some escrow offices aren't for everyone." Silly me, for a company that says they give service that officer was very unhelpful.
