The food items- chicken sandwiches, sliced sirloin, a rice dish, tomato salad and passed lamb chops were exceptional. Service was accommodating and the signator cocktails were excellent. The DJ was engaging and the room temperature was just right. I had not been to the space in years so it was fun to return to reacquaint myself with the venue. Parking and registration was seemless. Thanks to Kanopi and to the sponsors including Lero's for providing a great night on a Monday!

The service - well you feel like family. We did a tasting menu that the chef planned. 8 courses (plus bread service). Dessert was served in the kitchen. All courses had a beverage pairing. Menu: Beet / yogurt pairing with little hints of different flavors that surprise you in a good way Tomato soup (cold) - not like anything I have had before. The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! If you haven't been, call and get a reservation or plan an event. This place has great history with an amazing family. Their passion for food and people is off the charts.

Apparently, it has 4 kitchens. They cater and also has space for wedding receptions. The staff was impeccable, friendly and professional. They were accommodating and attentive. They offered red or white wine to the guests as well as passed out champagne at the beginning for the toast. Later they had coffee or tea to go with the dessert. The food varied. The appetizers, spicy shrimp and Italian meatballs, were addictive. The arugula salad was nicely presented and flavors meshed well. The pasta with peas was al dented. The side dishes of mixed vegetables and potatoes were decent. The main dishes were hit or miss. There were three: salmon, steak, and chicken marsala. The salmon was flavorful but a little dry. The chicken marsala was very dry and was saved by the delicious sauce with mushrooms. The best was the steak which was perfectly tender and medium rare. The dessert was some small pastries and fruit which was presented nicely. It is a very classy place with good service.

I would stay over…read morewhile I was attending college; to do schoolwork for better concentration and relaxation, so I had first-hand experience with Sonesta before the remodeling. Let me tell you something, This Hotel has gone from a three-star hotel to a 4-star hotel, but I give them a five and nothing less. I am a proud travel pass member since 2015. They have done a fantastic job of remodeling. The rooms are FABULOUS, absolutely fabulous and comfortable. It is a luxury room with satisfying upgraded furniture. The bed, couch, chairs, picture, television, and bathroom exemplifying sophistication. Offering bedside reading and access to downloadable books to read. Charging outlets and the lighting sets a romantic tone. All you need to do is have them give you the romantic package and add wine to the list, they aim to please! They offer event space, a swimming pool, fitness center, self-parking as well as Valet parking, a market center with Starbucks, airport shuttle, laundry service, housekeeping, and in room dining. The remodeling has enhanced the bar experience and the dining experience. The restaurant, which is named Whisk, serves this spacious and huge Dine-In area, serving breakfast and dinner only. It is a totally different set-up from the past, and the food seems like it has improved but the service from the dining staff remains the same, friendly, personalized, professional, and pleasant. I had the buffet for about $27 plus. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I should not have gotten the buffet because of my diet, but I did well by eating one plate. Next time I will try A La Carte. I have visited the bar in the past and you can dine at the bar, the people at the bar at the best around. The go out of the way to talk to you and as many times as I have been there, they know me. The valet parking is serviced Metropolis; I paid $34 for about 18 hours and the staff are enthusiastic about parking your car. Pro tip- Have the buffet ordered as part of your stay. An area that needs attention- Housekeeping can use the mop a little more. The floor was a little dusty. All out I am so impressed and satisfied, if Sonesta is in the area that I am visiting, I am staying there... more reasons to .... Yelp more, Inspire more!
