This may not be the fastest CVS, but it does have some of the friendliest employees. I do all my pharmacy and snack purchasing here.

Gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen a CVS with staff as consistently friendly as in this one. Makes a difference!

The pharmacy staff continue to be helpful here, even if the store is a bit shabby.

Typical overpriced liquor store in an expensive part of Boston in the west suburbs right off of Commonwealth. I don't drink so I don't care how overpriced it is - I just came here for some water. But if you're coming here for liquor, it might be a little out of your price range. Then again you're on Yelp so you're probably not poor. Lol. But it's still a good store because I know a lot of you love to drink and these stores are invaluable to you then basically. Pretty good selection too, and friendly enough. Sunday morning rain is falling. Oh wait. Why did Adam Levine take over my review. Psh.

Prices are on the expensive side, but fairly standard for Harvard Square prices. They have the customary selection of beers, wines, liquors, and mixers, but they also have a section of Harvard apparel (like T-shirts, sweatshirts) and Harvard memorabilia (like keychains, mugs, coasters, etc), so it is a great place to also pick up some souvenirs while you are shopping for your beer! I also like that they sell accessories to complement your drinking, like plastic martini glasses and plastic shot glasses for a party. Their hours online might not necessarily reflect when you are able to buy alcohol. I walked in after 11pm one night and even though they were still open, I was told that they cannot sell alcohol after 11pm (not sure if that is only on specific nights or if this is a nightly rule).

Hey, listen: this is important information. They have Choco Tacos! Should you be in East Cambridge…read moreand suddenly NEED a Choco Taco (hey, it happens) you'll know exactly where to come. You're welcome. Also they have other convenience store items, many of questionable origin. The edibles all seem to be within date which is more than I can say for the Shaw's down the street. The trouble is finding anything. the place is so packed with whos-a-ma-whatz-its, thing-a-ma-bobs, and things I can't pronounce that it's a tad overwhelming. On the baked goods shelf they often have conchas. These take me back. Grandma LOVED them and really tried to get me to love them. Sadly that didn't work out. But I know that I can visit them every now and then an look back on those days fondly. You should peep the paper strip that apparently (maybe in the 70s?) held pacifiers. How convenient that strip of binkies must have been several decades ago. Random. There is usually someone scratching tickets in the doorway (what is it with scratch tickets here?) and someone yelling about Mass Millions up front. This can be inconvenient if you are on a Choco Taco mission; but fear not, taco-y goodness is at hand and for a mere $1.75. Woohoo! So yeah, go. Get your taco on. Live well.

You know, the little shake after using all your energy slogging from the couch to the fridge, and discovering frozen empanadas for the munching. Or tamales and plaintains. Pleased that something going into your body wasn't injected into a mold to fit the shape of its cardboard, microwavable home. But I digress. In addition, you'll find Jesus. Far right, back wall. Three shelves of him in many an incarnation, a rainbow of long wicked hues for the burning. And Mother Mary and a few other saints for good measure. Every home needs a few of these on the windowsills. Don't forget Adobo. This blend of salty spices is great in everything from eggs to fish rubs to collard greens. Lazy man's flavor, I'll tell ya. This stuff will surely make you thirsty so be sure to stock up on some Ting while you're at it. Ting is the Jamaican peoples' superior version of Fresca with better grapefruit zing and cane sugar instead of aspartame. A lottery ticket? Some garlic bulbs? Fresh thyme? Bunch of bananas? Cleaning supplies? Mystery hair products? Random Chinese medicine with no directions? And so cheeeeeeeap, purchased from an avuncular gent banging on an old school Texas Instrument calculator. Just don't try to go on the day of the lord, the grill will be down.
