I came to Walmart this morning to visit the deli because the deli closes early every night, so I came early this morning. I arrived at 8:15-I am just now being served and it's 8:32! Am I being unreasonable? Is 17 minutes really not that inconvenient for customers? Perhaps I'm old fashioned-I remember clerks being Johnny on the spot when it came to helping customers! You'd figure in this day and age, there are plenty of tricks & gadgets to help with customer service-obviously a clock isn't one of them ! I really hate to bitch and moan-please do better, Walmart!

The register situation is a total mess, they rarely open up the self check out area and when they do it's 15 items or less and will not let you use them if you have 16 items, they try and justify this by adding employee run registers, they put a 99 year old with minimum training on register which slows everything down more. As an honest paying shopper I find it extremely disrespectful to be treated like a criminal meanwhile actual criminals can walk out of the store with full carts worth of products. Shop online and let's put disrespectful stores like this out of business.

Social Security decided not to pay for it since I make two dollars more an hour. Apparently I'm rich now. I've made attempts at Safeway to ask how I can get my medication and have been snuffed off by a pharmacist's assistant named Tony who has absolutely no problem shrugging off any answers to someone who is asking him for help. However, when I was there a couple of weeks later, the woman in front of me had the same issue I did. Tony went out of his way to tell her about the Wegovy pill, which costs only $100. and how she should speak to her doctor about it. I was next in line and heard the entire conversation with my mouth agape, wondering why he didn't tell me the same thing. There was another time when the King Soopers across the street went on strike and Safeway took on the prescriptions of the King Soopers customers. I went to Safeway to shop and it was extremely crowded. I stopped by the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and Tony told me that it wouldn't be ready until the next day. He said they were busy filling the orders of the King Soopers customers. Wait!!! So he was telling me that the prescription orders of customers he didn't know took priority over Safeway customers?!?!?! I should have left then. I will be leaving now.

Interesting, I never, ever think about going to Walgreens. But just like a late night after drinking- Walgreens and a Burrito Supreme are the same, I always find myself tearing into one. Maybe it's because they're located on just about every street corner (or they appear to be), or it could be, the over-generous and gracious operating hours (24 hours), or they have just about everything you, your spouse, or your second cousin will ever need when requested in a five minute window. Walgreens is sort of like a Flea Market with prescriptions, $1 toys, and fountain drinks but they also develop film and have a loyalty program. Visionaries...no doubt.

The final straw was when I called and asked about my prescription status to pick up before a BIOPSY FOR CANCER. I asked if it could possibly be rushed because it's only 3 pain pills before they cut a piece of my insides out. They said there's a lot of people ahead and the doctor should've sent in the prescription sooner. No empathy at all. I waited 55 minutes sitting outside the pharmacy crying because I will either have to just deal with the pain or reschedule my cancer biopsy. I saw people picking up their allergy medicine before my prescription. Even at the estimated time they were still not available. These techs and pharmacists don't care about whatever patients are dealing with. As an X-ray tech myself, it's so sad seeing people who go into healthCARE and not give any empathy to actual patients. Will never be coming back and will be transferring all my prescriptions to Walmart. I hear they have a lot better customer service - just comparing the reviews. Unfortunately I'm not the only one who has been met with rudeness and attitude when picking up possibly life saving medications. Completely unacceptable.

I understand it was 8:30pm, but I looked online and it says the photo hours are until 10pm so it's not an excuse to tell me "see how the lights are off? That means it's closed. We have no one working that right now" when I asked about the hours being different online. He could not even give me a straight answer as to what the hours even are for the photo processing area. He said my best bet would be before 8pm, sometimes maybe even before 7pm, but gave me no specifics on that. I don't write reviews like ever, but I have never had such a rude interaction from just asking about hours when I found out the hours online aren't reflected in store.

Most gas stations treat you like a minor inconvenience. Buc-ee's, however, has erected a massive, glittering cathedral dedicated to a cartoon beaver, and it treats highway consumerism as a joyful, high-stakes religion. We were driving from Denver to Cheyenne with a handful of individuals who have never experienced the phenomenon that is Buc-ee's, so stopping was an absolute certainty. People from the Mid-Atlantic who lack worldliness like to claim that Buc-ee's is just an oversized Wawa or Sheetz. They are entirely wrong. For starters, Buc-ee's explicitly bans 18-wheelers from the property, leaving the grid of well over one hundred fueling positions open entirely to a synchronized ballet of family SUVs. Inside, the scale is borderline psychedelic. There is a literal "Wall of Jerky" and rows of rotating homemade fudge flavors. At the center is the Texas Round Up station, where employees in paper hats yell "Fresh brisket on the board!" before chopping smoked beef with rhythmic, hypnotic violence. I bought the mandatory Beaver Nuggets: puffy, caramel-coated corn snacks resembling mutant Corn Pops that possess the terrifying supernatural ability to vanish from the bag without any conscious human intervention. Then there are the restrooms. They are celebrated on billboards for hundreds of miles, and they live up to the mythology. They are massive, brightly lit, and so impossibly clean that you suspect the laws of biological decay have been suspended by corporate decree. The entire operation functions because the company pays wages well above the highway standard, proving a radical sociological theory: if you compensate people fairly, they will actually take pride in keeping a floor spotless. It is a wildly efficient, beautifully absurd roadside institution. You pull in merely needing regular unleaded, and you leave with a warm chopped brisket sandwich, a bag of sugary corn, and a profound sense of wonder.

Shopping was very fun! We bought T-shirts for the family, hats, magnets and a variety of other things. Best of all was the food. We tried the brisket sandwich and Carolina pulled pork sandwich, along with some Beaver chips (homemade potato chips). We bought fudge to go and it was the best fudge I've ever eaten. The jerky selection was next-level and the jerky we tried was amazing. I really wish we had one closer to home but at least we have one in our home state of Arizona now.
