I have been using this Pharmacy regularly for my husband's prescriptions since 2022. I can truly say I wouldn't have made it through the first year of his illness without them. They were always kind and very helpful and always willing to offer suggestions and go out of their way to help their customers. The last several times that I have been there I have noticed the level of professionalism and knowledge of the front line staff at the counter has diminished greatly. Now instead of being helpful they seem to just be running people through and usually are very short and snippy. I have been in twice in the past week and found this kind of attitude on both occasions. While standing in line today the girl at the counter was very short and basically rude with a gentleman. When she asked if he wanted to add his number he said he didn't have one but his wife probably did. She then asked if he wanted to add that and he said he didn't know what it was. A customer in line had to tell him that she was talking about her phone number. When she rang it up she told him it would be 426. He handed her a $5.00 bill and she said that is $426.00. You could tell that this took him by surprise and he was not prepared to pay that amount and didn't understand why it was so much. He left the prescription and said he wasn't paying that much. As for my situation I finally just left because it was obvious I wasn't going to get any help and no one was going to go out of their way to help me answer my question. If you want to be treated poorly this is the place to go. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that a store manager should treat a customer like they are an idiot. A really snide attitude for no reason. I don't care how bad your day (24 Dec 25) was/is. I ordered 4 items ($76) online for pick-up. I specifically selected in-stock items. I picked up my items only to find out there were only two of four items in the bag. Nothing was said about it during pick-up, nor was there anything said or printed that would tell me I was only charged for two items and not four. I asked the cashier about it, but she had to have the manager (female, long hair, slender) come out. Rather than talk to me, she talked to the cashier as if I wasn't there. Zero eye contact. I asked about the charge because the only thing I have says I paid $76 for four items. The manager says, "you were only charged $35." I asked how I would know that as she held her electronic device in her hand and said, "this says you were only charged $35 for two items." I asked if I could get something showing I was only charged $35. She acted as if the device she was holding was Top Secret and wouldn't show me anything. I know what Top Secret is and it's not a handheld device at CVS! I had to walk out at this point. No wonder why you only have 2.5 stars. I would give -5 stars, if I could. Poor service and bad attitude. This is the same place that refused to give me a COVID-19 shot because they didn't know how to enter a veteran in the system using Tricare. A little bit of delayed effort by the pharmacist who sat there listening for 30 minutes and did nothing to resolve the issue. read more

I really hate to give a negative review, but here's what just happened: My wife and I secured appointments at this CVS for flu shots, one at 8:15 pm and another at 8:30 pm. At 7:15 pm I got a text from CVS reminding me about the appointment and providing check-in instructions. We hopped in the car and drove all the way to the store, checking in upon arrival at 8:15, as instructed. When I got to the check-in desk at the pharmacy I was told "Oh, we're out of flu shots." No explanation as to why we hadn't been informed of this little detail before making the trip to the shop. The employee was neither helpful nor apologetic. Just makes you wonder, how in the world are this terrible customer service, and this miserably inadequate computer system, allowed to persist? It's crystal clear from other reviews that poor service is the rule here, and not the exception, and that the computer notification system horribly flawed. In a world in which I can get almost everything CVS sells more cheaply and conveniently online, this business had better get its act together soon. read more

Very unhelpful cashier unfortunately I was going to purchase 2 overpriced bottles of Systane eye drops ($19 each) because they were buy one get one 1/2 off however the phone number look up wasn't working. If I could, I'd give this pharmacy a negative 10. They are absolutely, hands down the worst pharmacy ever! Tonight I pulled into the pharmacy dive thru line at 8:55pm. A full five minutes before the pharmacy closes. There we two cars ahead of me. This pharmacy has outside mirrors so those inside the store can see the line. I pulled up to the window when the car In front of me finished at 9:01pm. To my astonishment the girl ignored me and pushed the button to close the gates. I beeped my horn and told her that I had been in line (which they knew as they can clearly see) and she refused to give me my prescription. She told me to come back tomorrow. Let's see if I was in line inside the store would they have slammed the gates down and refused me service. Probably yes! This store is consistently rated very poorly. Called the pharmacy to ask whether my Vet phoned in my dog's prescription. I was on hold for 40 minutes. Finally someone picked up. She asked a couple of questions which I answered. She then asked what was the last name then she hung up! read more

I just sat on hold for an hour. No one answered the phone no one told me to hang on I just sat there for an hour trying to refill my medicine they can only be filled in if I talk to the person and I ended up having to give up. This gentleman has always been courteous and kind, but today he totally blew my mind. When you learn how to stack coupons cvs is a good deal. Only buy when things are on sale otherwise it feels like they are over priced. The main reason I certainly here is for the pharmacy. Not by much choice mind you. SO SLOW!! Whether inside or in the car line there is always a wait. On 2 occasions I was given someone else's prescriptions, even after giving my name and birthday. I have received automatic calls stating med prescription is ready, only to drive down here and find they are not. And when I have called them in and spoken with a human, on several occasions, my presentation was not filled. It seems to only work with the automatic service for accuracy. Sad really. They have all the things a pharmacy should, including an overpriced grocery Isle. On the up side, the store is clean, and I get lots of coupons.. read more

Incredibly rude. My doctor called twice to walk them through a prior authorization for a med I desperately needed and they were too incompetent to fill the prescription. They blamed the doctor and treated me like it was my fault. Refused to answer my questions when I attempted to figure out where communication broke down. It says, "I burn crosses on the weekends to blow-off steam," and you know this is the truth. An hour passes. "Fifteen minutes!" he says again, and again. For the script is all he knows now. Like some satanic mantra burning in his skull. Like a dowry comprised of all things unholy, given to him the day he traded his human soul for a license to practice. Five stars! (Six if I could.) Author's note, to the beautiful girl with bright eyes and a gentle voice, who often works the drive-thru window, like a single light against the eternal darkness, who sits in her car with an ABTech bumper sticker on lunch break, staring through the glass, as though she longs only for an impossible horizon: I have loved you, darling. Worlds worst pharmacy. Completely unorganized. Promised script in 25-30 min. Took 1.5 hrs

I suspect they must give most of the pharmacy employees , an idiot test to make sure they are , dumb and neglectful enough for employment at CVS store #3847, located on Smokey Park Hwy, Candler NC. I had supposedly transferred my sons prescriptions to another pharmacy, but when I called them this morning, they said no refills were available for the medication. I called the doctor and they verified that there was a prescription at CVS #3847 on Smokey Park Hwy, with 5 refills on it. So I call CVS #3847 Smokey Park, and they say there are no prescriptions there for my son, but they had been transferred to Mars Hills CVS and I needed to call them. I call Mars Hills CVS, and they say there are no prescriptions there for my son, but CVS #3847 Smokey Park did have the prescription on hold, and told me where it was located in his chart. Item number two to be exact, so it shouldn't be hard to locate. So again I call CVS #3847 Smokey Park, and the dummy finally did locate the prescription that another CVS located in just seconds. I ask how do I get it transferred to his present pharmacy. He said the pharmacy had to call them and request the transfer, and if they did it should be no problem. Later in the day I get a message from his present pharmacy that they had called CVS #3847, and was told my son had no prescriptions there. I'm glad I don't work for the post office, or I may have been tempted to go postal on this idiot at CVS, by now. I call them and a young lady named Laura that surprisingly seemed to have some comprehension answered the phone, I unhappily explained the merry go round events her store had put me through. She looked and located the prescription and said she had no idea why someone had told the other pharmacy that there was not a prescription there for my son. And that she would personally call the other pharmacy and take care of it. I called the new pharmacy and told them to expect the call, and they informed me, that CVS #3847 would have to call them, since CVS had kept them on hold for 20 minutes earlier in the day when they had first called them. Is this really any way to run a business, especially considering you are doing a job where mistakes could go beyond frustrating someone, and could result in fatal results if the wrong mistake is made. Shouldn't we be able to have the peace and assurance, that we are dealing with professionals, that are qualified to do their job, and attentive to all aspects of it? read more

When you have kids, you really get a surprise when it comes to pharmacies. When your kid is crying because of pain and the pharmacists will not read the doctor's note *URGENT and you still have to wait for hours. I started out with Walmart on Airport Road. By far one of the worst experiences ever. My son had an ear infection and was screaming in pain. We walked into the store and approached the pharmacy and they told us it would be a few minutes. - So, when it was the third time and two hours later I stood in front of the pharmacy listening to another customer scream about poor service. I noticed the pharmacist laughing behind the counter. - That was the last time we used Walmart. Duh! We switched to CVS on Smokey Park Hwy. in West Asheville. It started out okay, but then they quickly began to live up to their reputation from all the horrible online reviews. - They stopped answering their phones. The kids' pediatrician could not even reach a live person. Today, I walked in with the my daughter's prescription. Due to an infection, she is in a good bit of pain. After being told it would be several hours. I asked them to fill the prescription because if they would answer their phones they would of had the prescription this morning. The pharmacist told me to try another pharmacy with less demand. So, I did. I went a few more miles down the road to Walgreens on Patton Avenue. I have never been more impressed. I was asked to come back in twenty minutes and when I returned a few minutes early, the quickly produced her prescription. I'm impressed. I never like to start off a review on a negative, so I will state the positives first. 1. It is open 24 hours. Convenient for those times when you have spent the majority of your evening in the E.R. and you have to fill prescriptions when everything else is closed. Well, that's about it. Negatives: 1. Only pharmacy that can have 7-10 employees behind the counter yet prescriptions are never ready..even when I have called the previous day. 2. When one of your medications is an injectable med, one would think that it would be common sense that syringes would be needed. Nay! I spent an inordinate ammount of time trying to explain to the employee that syringes (with needles) were not just a silly request made to inconvenience them...it was a necessity. 3. Went to pick up my daughters cough syrup (remember "syrup" it becomes important in a minute) and when I picked it up...the bag rattled. Syrup shouldnt rattle. Instead if her cough syrup, they had some gentleman's cardiac med in my daughter's bag. 4. If you can go in, get your meds and come out in less than 30 - 45 minutes, then the gods are smiling on you or its the end of the world as we know it! read more

I have used those pharmacy for years. It has never been the greatest but was serviceable. I never really needed it that badly until the last few months, having suffered a meniscus injury. This month marks the third month of a 1-3 day period in which I am on the phone in between the pharmacy and my doctors office multiple times. For two months, CVS repeatedly "lost" the digital scripts sent by my MD. I could not at first figure out the problem and my doctors office was getting very frustrated. Rightfully so because my physician had to be bothered five or six times to re-send prescriptions. Each and every employee I spoke with at this CVS did not seem to care or offer any assistance whatsoever in getting to the bottom of the problem, they just kept telling me to have my doctor resend the prescriptions. Which I did. Finally, I demanded to speak to a pharmacist and finally found one who has been very responsive and wonderful so far. She is the reason why I did not change pharmacies last month after, I kid you not, my primary doctor office called and asked me to do so. The pharmacist had gotten everything squared away or so I thought, until this morning. I am having surgery in three days and they have yet again somehow "lost" my scripts. The pharmacist I trust comes in tomorrow morning but I am still very anxious to get everything squared away before this coming week because who knows how long it will take for Scripps to be resent and now I am anxious that my MD will be on vacation because he takes many during the summer. The pharmacist that I spoke to today was again very nonchalant and frustrating to talk to and just kept acting like it's not their problem. Once I get through this surgery, I will never set foot back in that godforsaken store. read more

About four years ago I had fallen on the Parkway and shattered my right foot. After it taking 5 hours to carry me a mile off of the parkway and another 4 hours to be seen in the emergency room to be told that my foot was so damaged that I needed to go straight home and go to bed and wait two weeks before they could do surgery. They told me that I needed to go by the 24 hour CVS and get my painkillers so I wouldn't it be in agony when I woke up in the morning. My previous partner was a pharmacy tech for CVS and I told me that under extenuating circumstances they would rush you to the front of the line to get you in and out of the pharmacy if you were in a lot of pain. The first person which was a pharmacy tech at the drive-thru window told me that it would be about 45 minutes to get my prescription filled. I told her my situation and she went and got the pharmacist. The pharmacist looked at me and said it would be an hour and a half before she could get me and my medication and she had little to no sympathy for what I'd been through. I feel sure that she just judged books by their cover and thought that we were a couple of tweakers trying to get our Friday night fix. On what was one of the most painful horrible days of my life when all I needed was to get my medicine and go home before waking up to have to endure what became a six-month rehabilitation and having to get 7 screws and 3 titanium plates to put my foot back together. She prolonged my misery. My friend who had driven me to the pharmacy plus help carry me the five hours off the parkway had to teach a yoga class at 8 o'clock the next morning and could not wait around an hour and a half which would have had us waiting from 10 o'clock to 12:30 at night for my prescriptions. He ended up having to take me home and while in excruciating pain I had to hunt around through my Facebook friends to see who was still awake until I finally found someone and had to pay them to give me a ride to pick up my prescription at nearly 1 a.m. after one of the longest days of my life. I was totally disgusted by the lack of sympathy and compassion that I was shown by this pharmacist. On a day when I needed CVS the most they let me down horribly. I will never give them my business again. read more

I don't think I've ever experienced customer service as poor as I've received with this CVS. I moved here and had my refills transferred. The previous pharmacy called AND faxed them over 3 times before someone finally put my information in the system. It then took another 3 days to get them filled and priced for pick up. Now two days later I have to pick up one more prescription. Again, it had to be called and faxed twice ( confirmation received each time that it was sent ) and when my daughter went to pick it up for me, was told I have no insurance information in their system. So... After waiting in line for 30 minutes ( for the 3rd time ). Still no prescription. I have been on hold with them for 40 minutes waiting to once again give my insurance info so that I can drive there and wait 30 minutes to pick it up. Needless to say - I will be switching pharmacies. Sadly- the Physician's office said this pharmacy is known for it's terrible service. read more

This by far is the worst pharmacy in the Candler area. Extremely poor customer service, scripts are NEVER ready, the phone is never answered and forget using the call-in to refill. You enter the day and time to pick up and when you get there, it's going to be 30 minutes before it's ready. I called in to pick up a script on Friday at 4, was there on time and was told it would be 30 minutes. I didn't wait, went back on Sunday, (2 days) later and was told it would be 30 minutes before it was ready. What's up with that. I will definitely be transferring to another local pharmacy.
