Jeremy is one of those people who can't go anywhere without a beverage, so we stopped at CVS to get a Monster... and an orange vanilla coke for me. Both of which were outrageously priced, but that's inflation, I suppose. Many shelves were absolutely bare. I suspect they're removing all the summer stuff and getting ready for Hallow-xmas. It's a basic CVS situation. I only go into those stores when I need a quick beverage. I DO use a CVS pharmacy, but even then we only use the drive-thru. Going inside always seems like such a hassle. We didn't interact with any employees. We used self check-out. It was a fairly painless experience. I appreciate the ramp and the automatic doors. I wish more stores had those.

Just this morning I was 10th in line with 17 people behind me. My prescriptions, ordered earlier this week, weren't all ready. I'm not sure any other pharmacy in this area is any better. So often I visit here in a good mood and leave in a bad mood. It's amazing how badly run this place is. If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

I browsed for about a good 5 minutes and decided to look into sanitation wipes for my future trip to Cancun. With the help of a sweet customer service rep. She assisted in helping me find good wipes and a even bigger score the Clorox wipes were on sale plus the use of my CVS bucks. I love getting those bucks to shop. After my purchase, I got even more extra CVS bucks!

They are always helpful, polite and professional to everybody coming to the pharmacy. Sometimes I watch (while I'm waiting) and am impressed by their level of patience. I must say that this staff seems new (or should I say, I haven't seen them before). So, I came in and scanned to QR code to check myself in. That' s a game changer. Once I checked in (I was standing in line for awhile before I saw the sign to check in) the pharmacist recognized me and went about preparing my vaccines. I had an appointment for 1510 and was out of there by 1545. That's not to bad. These days nobody has patience (myself included) and there are times when patience is key.

It was weird as heck. 2 - next visit- place was empty. Like the cashier was bored. In and out in 2 minutes. Then after waiting in line they tell you it's not ready and to have a seat or come back. I went in there at 4:45 pm for a simple prescription and did not get out until 6 pm . By that time it was dark. Sure it's winter but still. The two girls that helped me were both very nice . The pharmacist had an attitude towards them when handing prescriptions but maybe he was just overwhelmed. Also before ever coming in I tried calling twice because I received a text saying there was an insurance issue . Then the automated system said it couldn't be refilled. Soo idk maybe this is why Walgreens are closing . Also their technician seemed frustrated by the computer system that sounds overly complicated to bill insurance

I was sent to three other Walgreens told they have my medication in stock even though they knew that those medications were tethered to other patients. I waited 35 minutes on hold only to speak to a woman who was rude and frustrated she had to be talking to me. She interrupted me and would not let me speak, explain myself, or ask questions. The worst customer service I have had this century.

This pharmacy cannot keep track of prescriptions, its automated system does not properly track…read morethem, and it is generally poor at communicating. Twice now, I have gone to pick up prescriptions and was asked to pay full price because the medication is "popular." I called my insurance company and learned that Charlesmeade Pharmacy never ran my insurance. The last time I went, I tried to explain that they had not run my insurance, but they insisted that I needed to pay full price. I asked why this had not been communicated to me beforehand, especially since I had spoken with someone on the phone earlier that day. They then attempted to bargain with me to pay less than the original amount they quoted. This seems absolutely wrong--they are refusing to run prescriptions through insurance and are instead negotiating prescription prices.

Too many to list: orders constantly getting canceled with no explanation, corporate website constantly going down, standing on line for 40 minutes to talk to a real person about a problem because no one picks up the phone, being turned away at the counter because the pharmacy's system "went down again due to the weather". (Not kidding, Walgreens hasn't updated their pharmacy system since the 90s.) I tell you all that because if you're dealing with similar headaches at any of the big name corporate pharmacies, it's time to try an independent pharmacy that actually knows how to run itself competently. Charlesmead does that well and comes as a breath of fresh air after all the corporate BS. At Charlesmead, you can easily fill prescriptions over the phone with an automated system from this century. Prescriptions get filled within hours, and someone will call to let you know it's ready. If you have questions, a real person will actually answer the phone. They even do same-day deliveries, if you can't make it to the store. I wish more mom and pop shops like Charlesmead were still around. You can tell they actually give a damn about their customers and pride themselves on doing a good job. I can't tell you how much more smoothly my experience is since I transferred here months ago. I will never leave this place. An important note: You may notice *some* prescription prices here are a little higher. That's because independent pharmacies don't benefit from Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) who negotiate discounts for corporate pharmacies. If you're not sure if your medication will be affected, ask the pharmacy. If price is a dealbreaker for you, fine. Personally, I will happily eat any extra cost if I don't have to jump through hoops every month just to get my medications. You can't put a price on your sanity.

My pharmacy did not take the patient's insurance so at the request of the patient I transferred the prescription via fax. The patient went to the CVS but pharmacist Hassan informed patient he had not received the transfer and refused to call my pharmacy for a copy. The pharmacy filling the prescription is the pharmacy that CALLS for that copy not the other way around. Instead of pharmacist Hassan putting his patient first and calling he refused. Patient called me and I called CVS to give them the prescription. A good pharmacist does his/her job and puts his/her patients first.

They even kept the pharmacy open 10-12 minutes past closing to issue for my daughter (who just was released from the hospital) a much needed pain relief medication and antibiotic that cost over 98% less than what the hospital physician prescribed. I had to drive to the hospital as pharmacy closing time approached since phone connection to a physician there was unreliable, and the information Michael gave me (missing diagnostic code) for insurance prescription reject spurred immediate action at the hospital nurse station, ultimately leading to pharmacist Paul's persistent phone interaction with hospital physicians to resolve yet another problem. 5 star service!
