Through the decades, I've been to this store less than 5 times. Cashier Heidi was quite a sourpuss. She acted annoyed when I told her I've forgotten how to use my OTC card since I've only used it once/twice at their branch. She brusquely asked if I was a member. After telling her I don't remember, she curtly replied "then you're not a member" without even bothering to check with my phone number. I asked her if she could check with my phone number, and she tersely replied "what's your phone number?"; she found out I was. The whole time, her demeanor was frosty, unwelcoming, and rude. There was no smile, no kindness in her eyes; just plain condescension. It's really bad for the business and clients if a client-facing employee obviously doesn't like her job and is ill-mannered. Her character clearly showed, and it was apparent that she wasn't "just having a bad day". And just in case she'll make an excuse of "having a bad day"; no matter what, you never bring your problems to work. When you work dealing with customers, a little warmth and kindness never hurt anyone. After the transaction, and before going out to the exit, I quietly told her "you know what, you could do better with a smile"; she tersely and frostily replied with the same cold eyes and hard, unsmiling face "have a good day". Before encountering Heidi, I've never heard "have a good day" spoken in such a robotic manner, with an attitude furthest from what the phrase supposedly means. Have some warm chicken soup, Heidi. Hopefully, it'll take you out of Mordor even for just a few minutes. read more

I had an excellent experience with CVS customer service. I originally purchased a heating pad for my fiancée, who is currently pregnant and really needed it for lower back pain. I contacted CVS customer service first, and they let me know I could return or exchange it at the CVS I purchased it from or any other location. I went back to the same CVS, and Elsa immediately helped me by getting the manager, Eric. RJ then assisted with processing the return/exchange, and the entire process was flawless and seamless. Everyone was extremely helpful, welcoming, and genuinely eager to fix what I came in for. There was zero hesitation, no pushback, and absolutely no hassle. They scanned my receipt, checked to make sure the item was in stock, grabbed it for me, and I was out the door in less than two minutes. Seriously one of the smoothest customer service experiences I've had. If I could give a million out of a million, I would--but since that's not an option, I'm giving a well-deserved 5 out of 5. read more

This is one of the closest CVS stores to my home and I can usually find what I need 9/10 times here. Most of the staff are friendly and some will even give great suggestions. The store is usually clean and constantly being restocked. read more

A few days, my wife sent me in to find this French moisturizing cream. The manager of this particular location, Shelly was super helpful and went above and beyond with her customer service! Shelly opened all the totes and checked to see if the product I was searching for, was in any of them. Unfortunately we didn't find, but we found an alternative, which made my wife happy and I left with smile on my face after accomplishing my task. Thanks for all the help Shelly! Total BS!! This pharmacy decides to open and close whenever they feel like it. Will they be open when I arrive in the morning or in the middle of the day during their normal working hours??? You never know. Today we showed up 45 minutes before the pharmacy closed and they had the drive thru closed early. Annoying, but not the end of the world, but when we went inside they had a large line and told everyone coming in that they were closing at 7pm sharp and if you were in line and didn't make it to the front before 7pm you would not be receiving your meds today...emergency or not. No meds!!! Total BS. Our kids needed their meds and being told that even though we were there 45 minutes before they closed, if we didn't reach the front by 7pm we would be shit out of luck. It is my understanding that a phone number is NOW mandatory in order for a customer to make a purchase at the Benicia CVS Pharmacy store. Since I have the CVS discount card my information is already on file. The belligerents cashier, Suzie, insisted I submit a phone number to avoid having to pay full price for3 items. I put the items back and left the store. About an half hour later my wife encountered Suzie and had the same experience that I did. Why have a discount card if a phone number is mandatory in order to get a discount (only) at that particular store location? read more

This good-sized CVS looks like an older store. It is has a large parking lot. The store seemed almost empty when I came here. What brought to Benicia rather than the store in Pinole which is closer was the availability of vaccines. My local store had nothing for weeks. When I decide I want something I hate to wait. I wish zero stars were an option. This pharmacy is where professionalism goes to die. It's like they hold auditions for "most miserable person alive" and only hire the winners. The staff look like they just rolled out of bed, skipped a shower, and decided personal hygiene was for suckers. No greeting, no "how's your day," no customer service--just blank stares and bad vibes. If they're out of something? Too bad! No alternatives offered. No help finding a substitute. Just a cold "we don't have it" like that's supposed to be the end of the conversation. You'll get more compassion from a parking meter. I'm convinced to work here you need a PhD in Ultra C*nt. It's like they've all had the same training in rudeness, eye rolls, and how to make you feel like asking for your prescription is a personal offense. Honestly, the only thing they've ever picked up off the floor is the stick they shoved up their own a$$. The only words I say walking out of there are, "Thank you, have a nice day"--but only because I'm trying to preserve my own karma. They sure as hell aren't worth any more of my energy. The pharmacy is awful and the employees are so unprofessional and incompetent. They called me this morning saying my prescription was ready. I went into the store and RJ working in the pharmacy couldn't find it. Instead of using problem solving skills, he threw his arms up and said he could not help me and to step out of the line. The Rx was obviously connected to my phone number, so how is this something he was unwilling to figure out. Sadly, this is the only pharmacy in Benicia. read more

The pharmacy at this CVS is first rate. They have my prescriptions ready within hours of either Urgent Care or my primary care physician calling them in. The pharmacy offers certain prescriptions to be filled with 90-day supplies rather than the normal 30 days. The store in general has a great selection of vitamins and healthcare items. read more

This is about the photo center. 9:30am I submit two pictures 4x6 to print via the cvs app at this location. Says ready at 10:30 am. I stroll in around 11/11:15 ask for my photos. They are not printed or in queue to print... I sit down at photo center work station. (That is very dirty btw) and WiFi my two photos to the computer and print 2 4x6 photos. Nothing comes out. I ask a second worker to help me. She's new to the location, doesn't have keys doesn't know how to work photos. She gets a third employee. He checks machines, it's not past 11:30. The photos all haulted because one larger formates photo printer is out of film. He changes. They search the queue, re add my pictures. He then informs me. The larger pictures need to print first because they are before mine, it's looking like 5+ pictures of a sunflower now. 30 more pictures before mine will start. It is now 11:50 I waiting outside and my photos are still nowhere closer to being g printed....... It is 2 4x6 photos for a collage needed at a funeral...... This is ridiculous. A manager, heck an employee should notice a photo center is not producing pictures for over two hours! There's not many services that customers need assistance with on the floor at a cvs. And the photo center is one of them and it is right next to the registers.. up front. I'm disappointed. read more

To preface this, I have been going to this CVS for over a decade and have never seen these workers before. If you are a person of color that likes to dress down while going to your local CVS because it's well.. CVS, do not come here. My brother and I were racially profiled and completely ignored when we requested assistance at the self check out. The first minute we arrived, the staff gave us dirty looks and the manager asked us in an annoyed voice if we "found everything okay", peeking from the next aisle over. For those who haven't worked in retail, this is a way to deter people from theft if they look suspicious. When we were at self checkout, our coupons were not showing up from our phone. We called the employee with the curly hair to help us but we were completely ignored. Eventually, when the bald headed manager arrived, he talked to me like I was an imbecile trying to explain to me why the coupon didn't work on my phone. The coupon did eventually work because I was right btw. When I asked if I can just void the transaction and redo it, he told me no and that his cashier (who also completely ignored us) would finish the transaction. My brother and I are not the type to steal from anywhere. We have our own money and are college educated with morals and ethics. But these people from CVS Benicia see someone brown and wearing sweatpants going to the local drugstore and all of a sudden we are "not one of the good ones." I'd rather go to the other CVS by chick fil a even if it's a longer drive. read more

This is the second time Renee in the pharmacy section has provided outstanding care for me and my two month old son. Her experience, knowledge, empathy, customer service skills, and attention to detail make her very enjoyable to work with. Her being so personable with cost effective advice goes above and beyond expectations, as well as the norm. It is a pleasant surprise to find such attentive and quality people in day to day life. She treats you more like a friend or family member than as a customer, and that stands out to me. I hope she gets recognition for what she does. read more

Unfortunately, my experience mirrors E.L.'s. Each time my wife's doctor calls in a Rx to this CVS, they never call or text message her to inform her that the medicine is ready for pick up. Two days later she drops in and they repeatedly say, "we never received the Rx from your doctor". She then calls the doctor's office and they confirm it was sent "two days ago". This CVS then tells her it will be another 1-2 days to fill the Rx. Other CVS locations are not like this. CVS may want to consider they are "treating patients" first and customers second both of which are incredibly important. read more

Sorry to hear some others have experienced problems with this CVS Pharmacy in Benicia. I have had exceptional service and professionalism when getting my Covid, Shingles or Flu vaccines. Entire staff is very efficient and friendly. Mr. Haddad (Pharmacy Manager) was very helpful today. Strongly recommend this location. Pro-Tip: avoid rush times such as 4pm after work. I've seen some longer lines and that may contribute to a less than favorable experience. read more

Twice this pharmacy has been unable to properly process RXes for my family (we have different names and houses and prescription plans). First they made me pay full price for my birth control, which the female Asian pharmacist said I randomly had to pay $300+ even though it was completely covered by my insurance. I tried for three days and ended up paying full price because $300 is less than having a baby. What happens to those who are less fortunate? After paying, I worked with CVS corporate to get fully reimbursed. I didn't post a negative review at that time because I hoped it was an isolated incident. The second time, the same pharmacist refused to process an inhaler for my elderly mother with Covid and said she had to pay $300 for a covered RX. They then claimed for two days not to get a transfer request from Raley's pharmacy. I asked if I drove it over would they release it to me? They said yes. I drove to Raley's and picked up the fax confirmation to prove it had been requested twice and drove it over to CVS and they told me they couldn't release the inhaler RX to me without my mothers ID. Pure evil. I told them 72 hours of refusing to process a covered RX, or transfer it to another pharmacy could kill her. It's evil of them to not process RXes properly and to lie and say I could pick up the RX release and then say something different when I arrive. They lied over 5 times to us on different occasions. I can't tell if it's incompetence or purposeful spite. Either way, the women involved in these incidents should be fired. I wouldn't be surprised if this pharmacy has killed people. Date of issue 5/12-5/14/22 (same pharmacist for both incidents). To the employees who were part of this, please find a new profession that doesn't put peoples lives in jeopardy. Work the main cash register, where people are buying gum, and makeup, not where you need the brain capacity to process insurance claims and dispense medicine. I cannot believe CVS would run a business like this, and continue to keep these people employed when they consistently withhold medications and make it impossible to get medicine without paying full price. After 72 hours of calls, driving back and forth between the pharmacies, Raley's came through and charged $4 for my mothers inhaler in less than 5 minutes. Please never fill an RX at CVS. Raley's will treat you right. CVS on Columbus will make you pay or kill you. read more

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE staff. Don't go here to get your covid test for traveling! They will kick you out from your appointment that you scheduled online and make you reschedule another day, even when you need a covid PCR test for a flight that is scheduled less than 48 hours! I made the appointment on the CVS website and even called CVS myself to ask if they provided free covid tests for traveling. Next thing you know, I go to the benicia CVS for the free test and the woman told me that I had to pay $140! I just find it interesting because 5 people I know received their covid test to travel at CVS paid $0! Also VERY interesting because on their site it asked the question "Are you seeking a test to comply with CDC, state or local health department guidelines (e.g., to meet travel-related requirements)?" If yes, you are qualified for the free test. After I accepted that I couldn't get the free test at CVS Benicia, I agreed to pay the $140 because of the time crunch. The lady then told me she could not provide the test for me because I would have to reschedule for another time. There were no available appointments before my flight! Since the unhelpful lady said no, I just asked if I can get a regular PCR test anyways because I was waiting in line for the hours so might as well do something right? She said no again! You were not helpful AT ALL. The woman who helped me was a middle-aged (maybe mid 40s) dark hair asian lady (maybe filipina) at the pharmacy drive thru on Monday 6/7/2021 @1:00pm. I couldn't get her name but she was not helpful at all! Nor the pharmacist on duty. We waited for more than an hour in the drive thru to hear that we couldn't get a PCR test that day (even tho we had an appointment). Thank you to the woman + pharmacist who almost ruined our trip. By the way I went to a different CVS, did the same process, and got my free covid test and still get to travel haha. read more

I've shopped here for over 12 years. Not anymore. They are racially profiling now that CVS has a new tough on crime policy. As a middle aged woman, who pays property taxes and works as a software developer, it's almost comical to see an employee cosplay Inspector Gadget as I walk to pick out a pint of Ben n Jerrys. The employees of color are as always super friendly and normal. When you have an employee guarding the door as you are paying for one tube of toothpaste, I'm done. The fact that this will end in lawsuits is beside the point. It's also ineffective. While they are chasing me around the store with my one can of Friskies, Becky with the good hair in aisle 6 is stuffing Enfamil down her blouse. I would love to see if other people have this experience. Meanwhile there are other stores, Costco, Amazon, even the f***ing Dollar Store that don't do this because they understand the legal liability. And I have great lawyers. :-) read more

I did not feel safe at CVS today. Columbus at Rose in Benicia The carts had actual trash in them and were dirty, and sticky. The checker had her mask firmly below her nose. I freely acknowledge I'm a germ-phobe. I have not been shopping since before Xmas - have hardly left my house. Had all groceries delivered. Today was my first day out, after the Governor's latest info. The manger? Sharon was very helpful. Both while I was shopping and when I shared my safety concerns. She is going to inform the store owner. Sharon did tell me that there was a self-wash station for the carts. But when I checked there was nothing there :( I suggested that a big sign be placed over the carts that they are dirty and you need to clean them. And then of course have the cleaning supplies available. read more

I never understand the bad reviews about this pharmacy. I've come here at all different times on different days and I have never, in seven years, had a bad experience here. Yes, all the pharmacists and techs are super busy (filling all our prescriptions and dealing with insurance companies, etc. mind you) but they are always helpful and kind anytime I've been there. I frequently stop into this cvs since it's very close to me. What's crazy is last week I came into the shop for crackers to pair with some wine I grabbed. I opened the crackers and ate 1: it tasted like sulfur powder. I immediately checked the expiration date and to my surprise it said "1 April 2016" Ew. We are in September friends. So these food items have been chillin on the shelf for at least 5 months. I stopped in today and let the manager know the situation. NOT demanding any refund; but just wanted to let them know and hopefully all expired food would be removed from the shelf. I showed Patrick and the check out clerk which crackers I bought. Shockingly: there were 4 more stacks with the same expired date for sale. How sad. Patrick responded super defensively. Blaming it on a contractor who stocks the food items. Why he got so upset? No clue. I wasn't asking for my money back. Just wanted to warn them! I dismissed myself from his bad attitude. Probably won't come here ever again. At least not for crackers! One of the employees came to open up a second register while another was counting the drawer... I was trying to buy some pistachios that were on sale for half off but I wasn't signed up for a CVS card to get the savings. I asked "Can you sign me up? I'm really not trying to pay 12.00 for these pistachios, I would much prefer the pistachios for 6.00" The attendant smiled and literally said "No, I'm going home" and then clocked out. This really should be a 1 Star review but this level of DGAFery was unlike anything I've ever experienced, so much that I feel it should be rewarded with an extra 2 stars. read more
