CVS on Columbus Avenue in Boston has a clearly posted "Service Animals Only" policy, yet it is routinely ignored. People bring pets into the store all day long, and staff does nothing to enforce their own signage. I have a documented allergy to dogs and rely on posted policies to safely enter public spaces. On dozens of occasions, I have had to leave the store because pets were present. This is not an isolated incident, and staff is fully aware that non service animals are regularly allowed inside. When I called the store to raise the issue, no corrective action was taken. I was given excuses rather than solutions, and the behavior continues unchanged. Posting a policy while refusing to enforce it puts customers with allergies and disabilities at risk. If CVS chooses not to enforce its own rules, the signage should be removed so customers can make informed decisions before entering. read more

This cvs is one of better one I've have dealt with because when I tried to get my prescription filled there was a lot problems. As most pharmacists these day they will give up n their patients. Not this one they called doctor to rectify the problem as soon it resolved they called me Personally to let me know what was going on. read more

The friendly staff at this location has convinced me to make this pharmacy my new spot! I had spent HOURS on the phone calling different CVS, Walgreens, etc. pharmacies trying to find somewhere that had a larger quantity of the prescription that I needed. The woman I spoke to on the phone (I believe her name was Kristen?) was very kind and was able to track down my prescription and work with my doctor to get it transferred to this location. Not to mention: the location is clean, close to the T, and had short wait times. Thanks for all the help! read more

The CVS gods have answered my prayers and opened up a new store right in the gayborhood. Srzly my obsession with CVS is just unhealthy. I'll probably be some creepy old guy that dies alone in a bed of extracare coupons. My default CVS had always been the lovely TWO star CVS on Mass Ave (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cvs-boston-3#hrid:AM6sziRhnsjz9idh7epamw) where a simple trip to buy toothpaste could make you suicidal. But now that has all changed. The new store conveniently located outside Back Bay Station is so fresh and so clean. I feel like Rose DeWitt Bukater on the Titanic as I think about my visit here. "It's been 84 years and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in." God I want her big purple hat... The staff here is friendly and the lines are fast moving. I had to make a trip up to the pharmacy and the gal behind the counter was so nice, informative, and quick to fill up my happy pills. Which was good because I was sitting next to the magazine rack desperately trying not to throw up on a teen magazine of "122 New Photos of the SEXIEST VAMPIRES." Teenagers should be illegal. My only criticism would be that the entrance is kind of awkward. Instead of putting in automatic sliding doors that you typically find, they went with the regular push/pull doors. Which I am positive I'll end up hitting a passerby on the sidewalk with as I exit with bags full of two-for-one deodorants and CVS Brand *compare to Aveeno* Stress Relief Body Wash. read more

I went into this cvs looking for a cream because my son had developed a rash on face while recovering from covid. I paid 16.99 for this cream, after I got home I realized it wasn't for toddler's so I brought it back the next day. I misplaced my receipt and asked the store manager to just give me store credit. He handed me a gift card with a balance of 4.95 on it. I was shocked, how did the price go from 16.99 to under 5 dollars? I gave him the card back, took my item back and went home to find my receipt. Once I found it I went back to this cvs and returned the item. I asked the manager why it was only 4.95 and he told me that he put that price in himself because it was the only way to do the return. LIAR LIAR! do not waste your money at this location. They'll steal your money and lie right to your face without blinking an eye. This store manager, John, is a thief. read more

Don't give a penny to this CVS. I had an eye emergency and my doctor called in a script. I'm unable to get there to pick it up and asked to pay for it over the phone and have someone pick it up for me. The cost was $91.00. The clerk with whom I spoke said that phone payments over $50.00 violated their policy, but the manager could override the policy. However, when she asked him, the manager refused. And he refused to take my call. I texted my doctor and asked him to call in the script to a local drugstore (even though I must use CVS/Caremark for insurance coverage.) The clerk at CVS had suggested a friend advance the money, or I buy a CVS gift card on line, etc. but I had had no interest in finding a way to support a store where its manager would not even speak to his customer. This is the first time I've ranted online. And I'm a lawyer! When a constable serves the manager with my 93A letter )that he'll need to pay a lawyer to answer) perhaps he won't act so arrogantly and treat another customer so rudely again. read more

I've been to many a CVS in my short time on this planet, but let me tell you no other pharmacy compares to the Back Bay CVS, or as I like to call it THE Back Bay CVS. The friendly staff is there to support all my health and pharmacy needs, like for example when I need to buy nail polish remover, granola squares, or a 20 oz. Diet Dr. Pepper (no but in all seriously the staff is very kind, especially Jessie at the register, talk to Jessie if you have the chance!) I look forward to my weekly trips to Back Bay CVS. I'm already getting excited thinking about what I'm going to get there tomorrow--and even just the experience of browsing through the clearly labeled isles! Man, I wish I were kidding. If I wanted to be misgendered intentionally in front of a room full of people I'd go to a family reunion. I have been coming here for a while and it's never changed. And I straight up look like a woman. The staff at this pharmacy are either incompetent socially/culturally or absolutely transphobic. I have repeatedly told them how I am to be addressed and they continue to go out of their way to call me Sir and Mister. It's absolutely ridiculous. They see the prescriptions I'm on. They know I'm trans. They have eyes. They are being incompetent. This is a majestic new CVS conveniently located near Back Bay station and the Columbus Ave area of the South End. I stopped in here after an open house event at Revolution Fitness and was pleased to find that the new CVS is very clean, well-lit and reasonably well stocked. I was able to find some first-aid kit staples that had eluded me at other area CVSs. I would definitely recommend the CVS over the one on Bolyston Street in Copley or the one on Newbury Street. read more

I freaking love this CVS. Having just moved to the hood from Berkeley, home of not one, but two, CVS locations that drove me out of my mind, it was such a pleasure to stumble upon this small, but well-stocked and clean CVS close to my new pad. The pharmacists are actually knowledgeable and helpful -- and get this, they texted me when my scrips were ready -- AMAZING. I'm sure this isn't a new service, but given that the CA CVS' at which I was the patron could barely handle ringing up a chapstick, let alone being real pharmacists, this CVS is balllller. Def worth a stop if you're in the SE and in need of a trashy mag, Advil, Coke Zero, or your meds of choice. read more

Two words: Friendly and clean It's not vast in size but gets the job done. I was able to find the med and candy aisle fairly easily. I probably would've died if they didn't open this location since I would've had to walk all the way to Boylston for allergy pills instead of around the corner. Makes it convenient for the ones working on this side of Back Bay for basic drugstore needs. Prayers were answered indeed! The cashier was kind enough to automatically use her CVS card when I didn't have mine on me. It's sweet that people care behind the register. This doesn't happen all the time; as I did the same at a different CVS location and the cashier didn't bother saving me a few cents when I said I don't have mine. read more

I had trouble returning items at the Boylston Street location ( manager response - these are seasonal items, you cannot return them. Um, you guys don't sell combs and scotch tapes all year round? I often found this CVS location oddly out of stock of something I wanted/needed every time I went in. Every five times or so, it would be important enough to warrant me running over to the Copley pharmacy instead. If it weren't for the incredibly convenient location, I'd probably use the other pharmacy more. I've been coughed and sneezed on by employees here. So, make sure to buy some extra hand sanitizer while you're there for your journey out of the store. read more

They have a good selection- they had he razor and shaving cream I needed- and when I went here in Oct 2009, it was my first time at a CVS, and a good preview of what was coming to California (Longs Drugs was just starting to convert its stores to the CVS banner). read more

I walk by this CVS every day on my way home so yes, it's ridiculously convenient for me. I like that it's clean, I like that they have the every day staples, and I like that it's not as chaotic as the CVS on Boylston. After 6 trips I've been tripped up twice by this place: 1) I stood at the pharmacy counter for 5 seconds before a woman said "I'll be right with you". Five minutes of punching numbers into her computer and 3 other people walking back and forth behind the counter, she was finally able to take my perscriptions. There's nothing worse than the excitement of not having a line and then being met with a 5 minute wait because they were all too busy to help me anyway. 2) I'm a CVS coupon junkie and I know the inns and out of how their system works. I know that if they press "Finish and Pay" that my $4 off $20 coupon will not work because I piggybacked all the other coupons to get over $20 to ultimately pay around $10. Make sense? Regardless, the employee tried to convince me that their policy was after all coupons and the ExtraCare card was scanned. He kept telling me I was wrong. I had to walk him through it on his third try to get it right and when it worked, he said "Oh yeah. That works." I said "I know... I'm a CVS'er." Seriously nasty pharmacy staff working the after work (6pm) shift. Beware and get ready to get snapped at, lied to ("I don't have anything for you"/ uh yes you do- you sent me a text) and have your head bitten off! The pharmacy pick up receptionist was snippy, but the pharmacist was nastier. Definitely an unfriendly and unpleasant crew here! I live close to this CVS, but like the one in south end so much better. This CVS is not as well stocked and is much more smaller.

When I lived in the South End I stopped in here fairly regularly to get any needed items. It's a super convenient location since it's next to the T stop, but it is kind of small. It had all the items I needed to check off my list, but I always wished it was bigger. No complaints really. Overall gets the job done, just isn't my favorite CVS. read more

I don't know about how they operate their business, or how their prices are, but I work as an EMT, and during the Marathon bombing when we were posting over by the store, they opened up their bathroom to us. Their bathroom was in the employee backroom, and was stocked with the best toilet paper and bathroom supplies available. What a great store. The help and pharmacists are so pleasant and helpful it makes going there a delight. If only they had a larger inventory, which of course would warrent more space. In any event, for a CVS store, this is probably the best run operation I have seen. They deserve 5 stars. read more
