This place is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!. went to have a compound prescription done and it was over 100$. go to Walgreens in glen ellyn. also, the people are extremely rude. Also, don't pay attention to the their hours of operation. I was told they closed at 6 and at 2pm when dropping of prescription and they were "closed" due to short staff. Came here to prep a trauma kit for our off-roading adventures. The staff here is so super nice. They have everything from urinary catheters to Carmax Chapstick! This is an actual medical supply store (wrist splints and scooters, and a portable toilets) and pharmacy. They don't carry a ton of stock of random items so call ahead to see if they actually have it if you need something very specific. There is free parking around the side. The hours are good. The management at this place is amazing because the entire staff this day was hustling - you could tell they were super busy - and every single person in the store was attended to appropriately. Hard working and helpful employees and hard-to-find pharmacy services make this place indispensable for residents in Westmont and the surrounding villages. Was TCB at the Walgreens in Hinsdale, when the pharmacy tech. said that they don't offer compounding (mixing various liquid active ingredients to get the finished pharmaceutical.) I had never heard of this process, so I wasn't sure what to do. He suggested that Westmont Pharmacy might be of help. Westmont pharmacy, if you've never been inside, is about 85% home health and about 35% pharmacy. If you're looking for a cane, sterile gauze bandages, or any other such thing, this is the place. The staff are really what make this place shine. They went out of their way to make sure they got the best deal for me, called my insurance company in order to get missing information, etc. Really above and beyond in my opinion. This place used to be a "Ben Franklin" when I was a little girl I used to buy coloring books here and other strange things. It has a very independent and unique look. In a lot of ways I like shopping here more than a Walgreens. It comes off as a typical old tymey "main street" business. They have a good selection of basic things you might need, over the counter drugs, bandages, I've not used the actual prescription pharmacy service here. But it's a nice place to stop into. Especially considering how few independent pharmacies remain in Chicagoland. read more

If I could select less than one star I would because this pharmacy deserves no stars. I had a bad experience on the medical supply side of the store as well as the pharmacy side. Both sides involved a bad attitude from the staff. I recently pulled all prescription activity from Westmont Pharmacy and transferred my profile to a customer friendly pharmacy. The pharmacist was less than pleased at my leaving and offered a veiled caution that he might not be able to take me back should the newly chosen pharmacy not work out. How arrogant! This attitude is exactly the reason I was leaving!!! I am so pleased with the new pharmacy that I'm mad at myself for not leaving Westmont Pharmacy years earlier. read more

This is a great pharmacy. If needed, they will compound your medications. We were able to get two medications into one capsule which was great because we were attempting to give medications to a cat. Westmont Pharmacy is amazing!! My dad needed new batteries installed in his power wheelchair and moved from his condo on a second floor(no elevator) and transferred to the nursing home he was at. Super nice people and they even ordered a specific generic for me that Osco drug would no longer do for me since the new owners took over they refuse to special order anything for any customer. In the middle of June 2015, I dropped into Westmont Pharmacy with my mother (without an appointment) to get a pair of compression stockings. First we were told, "they're right there," with the employee gesturing to the wall of compression wear. Um... I don't have any idea about compression wear and we had a prescription for them, so I assumed we needed more 1:1 service. They measured my mother and we discovered she needed a custom fit. That's fine, again we didn't know since this was our first time with the stockings/fitting/usage instructions, etc. The employee told us we needed to come back when someone named Leanne was there in order to be fit, but didn't tell us when that would be. I waited a couple of days and called ahead of time this time to make sure Leanne would be there to fit my mom. The employee said, "yep, come on over! She'll be here!" We drove all the way there again first thing in the morning and when we got there Leanne wasn't there. Really annoying! Especially since I just called to confirm we wouldn't be wasting our time driving there. We left our name and phone number for "Leanne" to call us back to attempt to set up some real appointment time for the fitting. Meanwhile, of course, my mom isn't wearing the medical equipment she needs. We waited and waited until the end of June, and have never received a call back. We took our business elsewhere that was much more professional and with better customer service. Don't even bother if you need something special that can't be grabbed off the shelves. read more
