I have been using this CVS located in Target, in the Atlantic Mall for several years. I often wonder why haven't I found a different pharmacy, possibly an independent Pharmacy. It is conveniently located near my home, but still it's frustrating, not very professionally run and all around, not a good experience. Just the other day I received a text notification, letting me know my prescription was ready to be picked up. The store was extra busy because it's close to the holidays. The pharmacy line was long and the store is very hot. Someone finally helped me. They told me the prescription wasn't ready and to come back in over an hour. Why send out a text saying the medication is ready when they haven't even worked on it yet.? Ugh! They weren't friendly either. Prior to Covid or several women that Moore in the Pharmacy, who are very kind. That is not the case anymore. Most of the workers seem like they really don't want to be working there and they show it. The pharmacy is supposed to be open during the week until 9 PM. We have gotten there at 8:45 or 850 and the gates are already closed. When you call, I'm often left on hold for a very long time or they disconnect me. I know it's a cheap pharmacy, but there is something called customer service and professionalism. This pharmacy is poorly managed and it's associates forget that they are here to serve paying customers and not Vice versa. Came here multiple times to pick up prescriptions and waited for at least 20-30 minutes in line before getting to the pick up window just to be told my medicine is not ready. When asking why is it not ready the person at the counter starts yelling at me that she will expedite and I will have to wait another 15-30 minutes to be prepared. Also associates are rude. I would never come to this place to pick up anything. If you have a different pharmacy option go elsewhere. read more

This place is absolute trash. Avoid at all costs. My doctor called in a script and it was put on hold and not filled. TWO WEEKS later my doctor called it in again, and again, and it was put "on hold" according to their app. No one called me, and I was on hold for hours and hours (not an exaggeration between 9 am and 2 pm over the course of two days. I WFH and just let the waiting music play out) because no one at the pharmacy deemed it necessary to answer the phone. So, I called the CVS National Customer Service number and they could get the pharmacist on the phone. He offered a useless excuse that they were "slammed", and couldn't answer their phones, and that they hadn't filled my script because they had my old insurance. I told him that had they called me, or answered when I called, I would've provided the new insurance. He said nothing. Literally crickets. No apology, no promise to answer the flipping phone moving forward. I work in the global health space. I think doctors, nurses, EMS, etc are doing incredible work. But these folks staffing the CVS pharmacy are worse than useless. When I arrived the following day to pick up my script, the computers were down. After thirty minutes of waiting for the computers to come back online and for ONE staff person to service the people ahead of me online, I finally had my medication. It needs to be refrigerated. Did they tell me that? Of course not. I'll say it again - WORSE THAN USELESS. CVS Corporate needs to take a critical eye on all of their low-performing pharmacies--I'd bet my last dollar that this is one of them--and clear house or offer incentives to attract higher-performing staff. read more

They rarely answer their phones which makes it hard to confirm the medication is ready for pickup, and their customer service is not that great. But I always walk out with my medication, hence the 3/5 stars. Gotta wait in line for about 15 minutes though. And they won't allow me to send a relative to pick up my prescription, which every other pharmacy I've been to hasn't had a problem with. Also kinda sketchy that the lady asked me if I wanted an automatic refill since I had 0 refills, to which I hesitantly agreed to. She was wrong though and I knew it, because my doctor prescribed me 6 refills (which reflected on my label). Might have to contact my insurance company about this because I don't wanna have any billing issues with them. This pharmacy doesn't care about their patients, just the bill. I went to inquire on the co payment for a medication . The clerk was too busy talking with co worker who was inputting informed on the computer. I had to repeat myself several times then she didn't want to bother with and sent me the pick up window . Then here comes the nastiest rude woman . she won't allow me to speak continue to cut of. She however did in the rudest way supposedly tried to help (Chanel). Outcome wasn't why I wanted asked for the phone number and store to follow up with my insurance. Prescriptions are never ready when they say they are (as in, you get a text saying "your prescription is ready," only to find out at the counter that it's not...). Incredibly understaffed. One person at the counter and one person working the back at rush hour. Extremely combative staff. No sense of compassion or empathy for customers who are upset at the disfunction. I'm currently on hold on my phone for more than 20 min for the umpteenth time this month....oh now it's 24 minutes and going strong....that's the norm. Those who enter here give up all hope. Now 26 minutes & so it goes.... I'll hang up when it passes 30 minutes on hold. See, I'm patient...& a tad hot under the collar (& I'm currently collarless, but fond of cliches...& my old non chain pharmacy that closed :( They just picked up @ 29 minutes and I had them on speaker phone & while I took 5 seconds to get them off speaker phone they hung up on me! It's not always an attitude, but but usually just a complete lack of passion, sense of urgency, or positive energy. This CVS is no typical pharmacy. It's a sadistic joke. It's a Buñuel film. It's an elaborate staging of Sartre's NO EXIT, and hell is a Target CVS pharmacy. I am a person with a tremendous amount of empathy for people who work customer-facing jobs. I worked retail in college. I did my time in the customer service salt mines. I pride myself on being an incredibly easygoing customer! But the customer service at this particular CVS goes so far above and beyond the typical issues you'd expect to deal with when filling a prescription, even in our broken American health care system. Diane and her colleagues were personally sent from the future to destroy me and turn all of us polite, understanding human beings who just want to pick up our medication and to go home into a flock of shrieking Karens. Do you take any medication that could be described as a "narcotic"? Be prepared to receive a notification that your prescription has been filled, schlep all the way to this pharmacy, wait in line for at least 20 minutes, and then be told that your medication is actually on back-order and you won't be able to pick it up for another 3 to 5 business days. "But my doctor sent in this prescription a week ago," you'll say. They will tell you that it's a NARCOTIC and they DON'T KEEP IT IN STOCK. "But I literally need it to function," you'll say. They can't help you. "How does this happen every single month? How do you never have this medication in stock? I fill the same prescription here, every single month, and it's a common drug. This shouldn't always be a problem." Come back next week. Next! Oh, and should you take any kind of pain medication, or any other drug with a street resale value (such as Adderall or Ritalin), good luck! You'll be treated like a criminal from start to finish. Oh, and forget about using any kind of discount card or coupons to lower the cost of your medication. If you have Aetna insurance, CVS will only let you pay the copay cost, which can fluctuate up to $75 up and down from month to month. Here was my breaking point: I once showed up at this pharmacy to pick up the same RX I filled there every single month, only to be told that there was no record of the RX being sent to them. I showed them my CVS app, which did in fact have a record of my doctor sending this RX to this very store a week before. I showed them the notifications and text messages from the day it was sent in. They got my doctor on the phone and after 20 minutes of arguing back and forth, conceded that it "got lost in the system" and I'd have to wait another few days for a shipment to arrive. Head filling with blood, dizzy with rage, I actually heard those dreaded words come out of my mouth: "CAN I PLEASE TALK TO YOUR MANAGER?" And then I'm pretty sure I actually blacked out. All of this is to say that I switched to Duane Reade/Walgreens a while back and have no regrets. They let me use discount cards that cut the cost of my drugs in half. They let you schedule same-day pickup and I've never had to wait more than three hours to pick up my prescriptions. They're NICE to you. Never again, CVS. Never again. read more

Their front desk associates are rude and condescending and on a power trip. They are incredibly disorganized. It took 1.5 hours to get medications that had been called in 6 hours prior to my showing up on a priority status. The woman who I dealt with today ignored me for over an hour before asking me who I was again, then she told me off for not hearing her or finishing her sentence and told me I had an attitude when literally all I did was stand there looking at her. Then when I asked to speak to the pharmacist to discuss the bureaucratic nonsense they provided for why they weren't filling my (non controlled, tier 1) daily medication my doctor called in for me that morning (and the night before, which they could not find record of) the pharmacist basically refused to talk to me, finally yelled across the room she would "override" the problem after 1.5 hours of waiting- she just didn't want to deal with talking to a patient. Then she rudely yelled "you're welcome" to my back while I was walking back to my chair- again, unprovoked, and any this point I had been there for almost two hours sitting quietly just trusting that they were doing their jobs. I am an actual provider for patients. These people are not there for patient care or to help anyone- you are a nuisance to them and that's how you will be treated if you are unlucky enough to have to deal with them any further than just picking up a script. Btw- I saw a lot of people on line while I was waiting, and I would estimate that maybe 25% of the people waiting actually were successful in walking away with their medications. These people are on a power trip and have lost sight of their role in medical care- seriously, go to any other pharmacy. read more

This is the CVS on the 1st Floor of the Target in Atlantic Terminal Mall. Frequently doesn't answer phone (718-290-1110). Can't get information on (1) why my prescription hasn't been filled for 10 days even though my account shows the prescription has been received or (2) whether it would be better to transfer it to another pharmacy so it can be filled. Would have to go to this CVS Pharmacy in person to get answers to questions. Would recommend sending your prescriptions to another pharmacy to avoid the hassle. read more

This was my local pharmacy since back when it was actually run by Target. It changed over to CVS back around 2015 or 2016. Seems like the staff largely remained the same, which is a good thing because they're super nice and helpful. They're also pretty prompt and accurate with their time estimates, and if you opt in for text alerts, they'll let you know as soon as your prescription is ready. read more

Every time I call I'm on hold for at least 20 minutes. I called earlier today and they told me to call back a few hours later. Well I'm currently waiting through minute 50 of the same hold music. One of the worst locations I've been to. I have given them the benefit of the doubt over half a dozen times now. I am not the kind of customer to complain or give people a hard time, I've worked my share of thankless jobs. I understand people have bad days, I don't know what other people are going through, etc. so I make an effort to be polite and patient even when it's not exactly reciprocated. But I've had enough. Most of the techs are perennially rude. They've cut me off in the middle of speaking--today so repeatedly I finally had to say "Can I please finish my sentence?" They've snapped at me. Ignored me while I was speaking to them. Charged me a month's copay but only filled a one week supply, arguing with me that that's how my doctor wrote it, when the prescription is right in front of me explicitly contradicting that assertion. The pharmacist who is of Asian descent has been helpful and kind. The other pharmacist I encountered argued with me from across the pharmacy in front of a line of other customers. C'mon man. We're all inhabiting this world together. I'm not trying to be a hippie woo-woo Pollyanna type. Just... we deal with enough stuff as it is. In person, you get mixed results. I've had a few people that were somewhat rude but not terrible. One person was very helpful. Now that I've moved and need to interact via phone, things are much worse. I've been on hold for around an hour each time I call and am currently having to go back and forth (so unfortunately call and wait on hold multiple times...) trying to get them to respond to another pharmacy's transfer request. Extremely frustrating to waste hours on something that should be a daily process for them AND wait (so far) two weeks to get a prescription transferred. read more

Consistently the worst pharmacy experience I have had. I've been stuck going here because it is where one of my prescription's refills are filed, but finally was able to switch them to Duane Reade. Thank goodness. Where to begin? Let's start with their phone system, which calls you every. single. day. with an auto-recorded message when it thinks you need a refill (it's often wrong). There is no apparent way to turn off this notification system. Then there is the staff. Oh, the staff. If you are lucky, you will just have a pickup, no questions. But if you have a question or, worse, an issue with your medication? Best of luck, friend. They have sent me on my way before with the wrong number of refills of my prescription, leading to me going without my medication for a week as I tried to figure out what happened between the pharmacy, my doctor, and my insurance. I stopped by a few weeks ago with a few questions about a product kept behind the counter that I needed - I didn't have all of the information, and the girl at the front desk made me feel like the biggest idiot in the world. I was sick and had been having a rough day, and her aggressive questioning and judgmental attitude was the last thing I needed. I was honestly blinking away tears as I walked away. On the best days, I'm able to just pick up my meds and ignore the fact that the girl at the counter just barks "date of birth" at your face when you approach the cash register, no "what can I help you with" let alone "hello." I was asked if I wanted a flu shot when I was there the other day and had to refrain from saying "no, I would not let you within twenty feet of me with a sharp object." CVS and Target, you are dealing with customers who are having tough days. No one likes being dependent on medication. Insurance is expensive and incredibly confusing. Oftentimes the people who come to you are very sick. What, honestly, do you get by being so rude to them? Does that make you feel better, in some way, knowing that you've just made someone's day even worse? And lastly, we all know that Amazon and delivery pharmacies like Capsule are coming for you. The only thing you will have to keep you in business is the ability to provide superior, face-to-face customer service. So, uh, you might want to start working on that. read more

Diane went above and beyond to help me with my prescription, making multiple phone calls and coordinating with my insurance company. On 1/5, my psychiatrist submitted my Adderall prescription electronically. On 1/6, I noted that my prescription was "on hold", and assumed that this was due to my having picked up my last prescription on 12/8/2017, and therefore on hold as per my insurance. I called when they opened at 9 AM on 1/8 and was told they would have to order for me, that I was not allowed to transfer the prescription, and that it would be ready on 1/10 (the day I am writing this). However, throughout today, I kept checking the website, which read that it would ready by 5 PM. At 5 PM, I called to confirm, and was told that it hadn't come in but would ready tomorrow. However, the website now says it will only be ready by 5 PM on 1/12, a full week after they received the prescription. Consequently, with no warning I am enduring several days cold-turkey. How can I prevent such abuses in the future? I wonder if it is is really CVS's policy to threaten their patients well-being with such negligence? Should I seek legal action in order to restore my health? read more

Horrible service, go to another pharmacy if possible. The girl who works at the front desk here on Saturday days is rude and nasty. First the girl told me insurance wouldn't pay for my prescription, which turned out to be wrong. Then she said I could only get one month's worth, which also turned out to be wrong. I'm glad I was able to politely state my case and eventually speak to the pharmacist as the customer service from this woman was terrible. Today my Mother who is a senior citizen insisted on going to the branch at 30 Flatbush ave. They have a Digital Coupon machine at the front entrance that was broken, which we did not know about. Then we were told that she could not get the $1:00 discount on any item because their machine was broken! How is this the customers fault? Sounds like a Total scam to lure customers into the store,(who are expecting the discount)!!! read more

A stunning experience: I have been getting meds from this CVS pharmacy inside Target for the better part of 5 yrs. w never a problem. Until yesterday. I approached the counter to pick up my meds, said "Hi" to the employee (someone I've dealt w many times before) & did not receive a hello back. Okay no big deal. I didn't say anything as (sadly) I'm used to this living in NYC as it happens often. After being given the total amount due I placed a $20 bill w the change on top on the counter & then pushed it toward the employee so that she could collect it & be on my way as there were people waiting behind me when suddenly I hear her say, "That was very rude shoving the money toward me like that & not putting it in my hand ". First, I absolutely did not "shove" the money as she claimed (Why would I? I was not angry at her & besides I have nothing against this person & furthermore I thought we knew each other from countless prior exchanges) & secondly, she did not extend her hand to receive it in which case I certainly would have. After being stunned by this accusation I then tried to explain that that was not at all what happened which then prompted her to argue back again accusing me of being rude, etc. & it quickly escalated w a female supervisor glancing over from her workstation & doing Absolutely Nothing to intervene or defuse the situation. Bear in mind, I have placed cash on the counter w this very same person ("CJ") to be collected before not to mention thousands of other exchanges in thousands of different businesses & have Never Ever had a response or accusation like this before. I have no problem w placing money in people's hands when they gesture to, but this did not happen. After getting nowhere w this person who continued to argue in the same manner in a hostile manner I approached the supervisor to complain & she pretended to not have heard what had happened when a) she was only about 2- 3 ft. away from us & b) I clearly saw her look over during the argument as I was looking toward her for help. I then called over to the supervisor to complain & she wore a look of contempt. A look that clearly said "don't bother me w this" & it was clear that she wasn't going to do anything to address this. More ensued w the supervisor which I won't go into in the interest of time here but suffice it to say that she could care less as she herself was rude, condescending & as I said had a contemptuous attitude the entire time. I never once got personal or used expletives but I did raise my voice as this was a stunning experience that seemed to come out of nowhere. They used to have a different supervisor who was an absolute gentleman & we would always ask about each other when I went there but I don't know if his departure & then the appointing of this new person has allowed for concealed hostilities to emerge.I'm a white male & the employee is a black female (was this racism on her part?) &/or there now is as the result of this new supervisor a very negative hostile culture in that work station . Who knows? All I do know is that this person was clearly looking for a fight & I happened to be the person at the receiving end of her hostilities. What kind of people are CVS hiring that would behave in this fashion? This was like stepping into some black hole of insanity. A bizarro world of sorts.
