    Fake news and false advertising
    Nadine S.

Monday, 18 Oct 2021 at 1253 PM, I attempted to get my flu shot administered at CVS Pharmacy, 7035 Indian Head Highway, Bryans Road, MD and was told that in spite of the bright yellow sign posted all over the pharmacy/store (also attached) stating: "Veteran $0 Flu Shots | THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE" I was told by the very rude and dismissive pharmacy attendant that CVS does not accept TRICARE (Military Health Insurance). Pointing to the yellow sign, I asked why would that be necessary if in fact it is "free?" To which she kept on being dismissive and rudely stated: "I don't know about that... we don't accept TRICARE. Try Safeway or Giant." CAVEAT EMPTOR: I am posting this to alert other Veterans like myself who have served honorably, to not be fooled by false advertising such as these. CVS's misleading signs coupled with the worst customer service are a prime example as such. I hope these noted issues will provide an awareness to let others know what they are up against. I am very disappointed and wish CVS would remove the sign or honor its commitment as outlined thereof, as the two are contradictive and are not attributive to good business practices.

Worst customer service ever, rude, and slow. There is always a long wait at the drive through.

Really wish there was a way to give this negative (-) reviews. The pharmacy takes way too long. Unacceptable. Period.

Very long wait time, bad customer service. Staff is not helpful and act like you are bothering them.

Better still; I've repeatedly read that a local pharmacy has lower prices than the "big box" pharmacies, but I blew it off, figuring a couple bucks wasn't wort bothering with. I was shocked when I took a 'scrip for my dogs meds to this pharmacy. It cost, literally, 1/3 what I'd been paying at a big pharmacy whose name starts with "C" and ends with 'S'!!

I spoke with my doctor and he sent a different prescription. The Pharmacy that my doctor sent my prescription to did not have it. I called around and found "Accokeek Drug and Health Care Inc". I asked my doctor to send the prescription to them. I did not realized that they were closed Sunday. On Monday morning (May 6th) my father called to check the status on my prescription (NOTE: He was going to pick it up for me because I can't drive due to my surgery). The pharmacist said I would have to wait until May 9th for him to fill the prescription. I called my health insurance company because I thought that may have been the issue. The insurance company called the pharmacy and patch me in with the pharmacist. The pharmacist (I believe his name was Mark or Mike) said he was not comfortable filling my prescription because he noticed that I had a prescription filled on Friday. I advised him that I did and the medicine was not working; that's why the doctor prescribed something else. He then asked "where is that medicine at" and I told him I have it here with me at home. The pharmacist said in order to fill the new prescription. I will need to bring him my old prescription (the medicine) NOTE: I did not purchase this prescription from this pharmacy. I was puzzled. I felt as though he was trying to say I'm addicted or misusing my prescription. I have NEVER use drugs. I have never felt so insulted and disrespected my entire life. Luckily my doctor was able to send it to a reliable pharmacy. It is very dangerous when the pharmacist wants to play doctor. I will never send my prescriptions or refer this pharmacy to anyone! If you're looking for a reliable pharmacy check out "My Express Care Pharmacy". They are extremely helpful and professional.

The best store in all of Maryland., and probably everywhere else that Giant has a location. I have…read moreshopped there for over 40 years and I never had an unpleasant experience there. My store is the Waldorf one and they have wonderful employees. One has been there as long as I have shopped there and whenever I see her she always makes sure to say hello, as well as letting me know if there is a special sale for things that she knows that I like. There is a huge selection of just about anything that you would want from a grocery store, and more. The store brands I think are just as good as the name brand products but save you a lot more money.

So far this year we have spent thousands of dollars in Giant due to our large household. It is…read morequite apparent that Giant cares more about protecting their disrespectful employees rather than making sure customers are treated with dignity and respect. The new manager John cares very little about the community he works in and it seems he'll be very dismissive when customers have valid concerns and complaints. We have been Giant customers for over 20 years and I have never been more disrespected. So moving forward I will no longer be Giant Food customer. There are so many other supermarkets that would appreciate my hard earned money. With the holidays coming up, I am pretty sure Shoppers or Safeway would love to have my family as customers. And I am pretty sure that I will be treated with dignity and respect. Luckily I am educated, but what if I wasn't? What if I had a learning disability, poor vision, language barrier, or suffered from dyslexia? Telling a customer that they need to learn how to read with absolutely no consequences is absolutely appalling. That could be discrimination according to the American Disability Act. A former disgusted Giant customer... PS. I am still interested in talking to the regional and distract managers because I still want my complaint formally documented and acknowledged by management.
