Spike burger. It had fried egg, bacon, monteray jack, grilled onions, mushrooms, butter, honey, Dash In sauce, salt, and pepper.

This is not a typical gas station! This is Dash In's next generation concept store. It's 4800 sq ft inside. They have an indoor dining area; a wall of self-serve bean-to-cup coffee drinks, smoothies, teas, shakes, juices, and sodas; an open kitchen that serves fresh made specialty burgers and other fresh made food; a huge variety of snacks and merchandise; 16 gas pumps, and a car wash. I used the Dash In app to pay for gas and food on my credit card. The app gives you discounts on many things at Dash In. Like 25 cents off per gallon of gas for 60 days. It can be used once per day for your first 60 days. Then, it's 5 cents off. Purchases earn points which can be used for many types of discounts like gas. My wife and I tried two specialty burgers. 1) Spike burger It had fried egg, bacon, monteray jack, grilled onions, mushrooms, butter, honey, Dash In sauce, salt, and pepper. The Dash In sauce was a spicy mayo. This burger was created by celebrity Chef Spike Mendelsohn and is available only at select Dash Ins. The hamburger meat was not special. It was a little dry and crumbly with an okay beef flavor and savoriness. Overall, the ingredients made a flavorful burger that was sweet, spicy, and savory with some tanginess and a hint of saltiness. If the hamburger meat was improved, this burger would be as good as any restaurant burger. 2) Smokehouse burger It had cheddar cheese, carnitas, fried onions, pickles, butter, salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce. The hamburger meat was the same as above. The carnitas tasted like pre-made vendor food. It was moist and tender with a so-so pork flavor. The BBQ sauce was the dominant flavor. It was sweet, spicy, and tangy. I would buy that sauce. Overall, the burger was decent because of the BBQ sauce. Otherwise, it's typical. It's hard to believe that I wrote a review about burgers at a gas station. But the Spike burger deserves some attention, and Dash In deserves praise for improving the experience at their gas stations. They have another next generation concept store in Chantilly, Virginia. That was their first. Dash In is owned by the Wills Group, a family business that started in 1926. They are headquartered in LaPlata, Md. They have more than 50 locations in Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. This store opened on Feb 14, 2024. If you are getting gasoline in Indian Head, Md; drop by and look inside. You'll be surprised.

I initially stopped here to get gas (the provide BP at this location) and then I wanted to go inside to get a drink and a snack to wind down my night. After going inside it felt a little to small for my liking. I had to reroute myself several times just to look at items because of the people in here. I will give them this, it is nice and bright in the store and everything seemed organized and in place. I found my items and went to pay. The two employees working made it feel like anyone that was in the store was interrupting them and we should have just left without anything in our hands. It took a while be be rung up as the guy was having a full on conversation and slowly processing the transaction. What really bothered me was that even after you paid, it felt like they were waiting to accuse you of stealing something. My friends that came with me had already paid and were waiting there for me to finish. As I was going through my transaction they kept looking at my friends, who had already paid, like they wanted to accuse them so badly of stealing what they just paid for. Once I finished my transaction we headed outside and were on our way.

If I'm ever missing a last minute ingredient for a recipe, this is my first stop. They have such a great selection and I've come in looking for: 1) fresh fruits & veggies 2) variety of seltzer waters 3) spices including pepper, etc. 4) hummus (not sure where they source it from, but it was delicious) 5) stamps 6) hygiene & first aid 7) ice cream 8) organic milk. In addition to the above, they have bread from Lyon Bakery (my favorite bakery in DC), a wide selection of frozen foods, a decent selection of raw ingredients and snack foods. The other thing I love is that they allow dogs in the store & even have a jar of dog treats to share. I know this store might not look like much from the outside, but give it a chance & go in. You won't be disappointed.

HOWEVER, very unfortunate to report that in 2026, there is still a card minimum. a 10$ card minimum. so if you were thinking about coming in for a quick bite or drink, you better have cash. i had just used all my cash at the laundromat and therefore wasnt able to buy my coveted chocolate chip cliff bar so tragic, so sad. but i live on ! anyhow, while the staff was kind, i despise business owners thrusting card fees onto their patrons. for shame !!

Condiments on the sandwich perfectly spread and the correct amount. The time from order to inception was perfect. The coffee and coffee bar in perfect condition. Very orderly and clean. The coffee was delicious. I get the Cuban Dark roast. I paid with self checkout. It was flawless and I made sure to scan my Wawa card. Only downfall was the Coke Machine was out of Ginger ale. It appears the Coke Freestyle fountain was out of a large amount of drinks. I got Vanilla Root beer. It was okay. Gas prices are the lowest I've seen in the neighborhood. As we know Wawa changes gas prices daily.

It's 6:00 AM, and there isn't even coffee available because they don't have the necessary coffee cups/lids. The safety lids are also out of stock. This is a serious problem--if a customer gets hot coffee and it spills because the proper safety lid isn't available, who is responsible for that? How can a large Wawa be this poorly stocked first thing in the morning? Customers come in early expecting coffee and basic supplies to be available, but instead, we're left with an empty store and no coffee. Wawa needs to seriously improve its inventory management and morning stocking. This is unacceptable for a major store.
