After my doctor's visit, I stopped at CVS to get an over the counter medication. The item the doctor suggested was expensive considering I would probably use it maybe two to three times at most. I picked out what I thought was a good substitute. Rather than guess, I stopped to talk with the pharmacist to ensure my selection was a good one. The pharmacist was knowledgeable and helpful. I had a disappointing experience at the CVS MinuteClinic on Tatum Blvd in Cave Creek on 8/12 at 3:50 PM during a scheduled sports physical for my daughter. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, so we sat down briefly. Shortly after, Nurse Practitioner Donnamarie came out and immediately gave the impression that we were late, even though we had been seated since 3:48 PM. She said we were "not signed in yet" and told me I could either use the app on my phone or check in on the kiosk. I assumed she meant the four powered-down tablets by the chairs in the waiting area. After unsuccessfully trying to turn them on, I told her they didn't work -- only then did she point to the actual kiosk tucked away on the other end of the room. I had forgotten the required paperwork at home, and when I asked for a replacement copy to fill out, she provided it -- but her demeanor throughout was dismissive and smug, as if she wanted us to leave before we even started. We were then seen by a nurse who was very friendly and professional, which I appreciated. When Donnamarie later reviewed the paperwork, she took issue with me leaving the seizure history blank. This was intentional -- my daughter hasn't had any seizure-related issues since she was six, nearly a decade ago, and I didn't consider it relevant for a sports physical. The way she delivered the news that she couldn't sign off without that section completed was telling -- it came with a visible sense of satisfaction, as though creating an inconvenience for us was, in itself, a small victory for her. It gave the clear impression that she took more interest in finding a reason to deny service than in helping a patient complete a simple visit. Between the one hour of travel and the appointment itself, the visit cost time, effort, and an early departure from work, all without achieving the reason for our appointment. While I understand the need for accurate documentation, the combination of poor communication, condescending tone, and apparent delight in denying care turned what could have been a minor paperwork fix into a wasted trip. Professionalism and respect for patients should always be the standard, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

After checking the hours of the pharmacy on the CVS prescription app and seeing that the pharmacy hours were 10-6 today, I arrived to find the screens rolled down. I could hear laughing from behind the desk, and stood there to listen to various techs, including Kat, sharing stories of treating customers rudely, and finding it hilarious. Eventually they noticed me standing there, and told me they were closed for lunch. When I explained that there was no mention of this on the app, that I was just picking up a pain med for my knee surgery recovery, and that I was Covid positive and not wanting to linger in public, they told me I'd have to wait. One suggested that I use the drive thru, and when I asked if that was open, she said "after lunch" to their mutual amusement. Finally, the pharmacist, Tiana Washington came up aggressively and said the system wouldn't even work until after lunch, and it was out of their hands, a classic lie to make someone go away. Several times throughout their lunch, a heavyset tech in blue scrubs came out of a security door clearly marked "Please Keep Closed," but propped it open for her return. Bottom line is, I wouldn't trust this pharmacy to tell me what time it is, let alone handle my medications. They don't take things seriously, lack any form of compassion or customer service, and act like little school girls when they don't think anyone is watching. I'm done with them. read more

The pharmacy at this location has gone downhill. Every time we are there, we get major attitude and downright disrespect for no reason. Most of the time, we are getting medication for a sick child- NEVER a narcotic. Nothing is ever ready on time and they have major issues with asking to fill a script while you wait. After my 95 year old mother called TWICE today asking about hi-strength flu shots and told they had them (and she'd be down today to get one) we drove 25 minutes to get her shot. This jerk says no shots today, need an appointment. Tomorrow at 3. Never mentioned that when she called either time. They advertise walk ins welcome. There was nobody waiting for shots. This is the third or fourth time we've had problems there. We moved everything to Ashler hills and Scottsdale rd. Barely let her explain her situation before they talked down to her, rolled eyes when she started to explain why she was there. THE RUDEST possible staff. This afternoon I went through drive through to pick up medication and was rudely informed to drive to another CVS to pick up. When I mentioned I had been inside 15 min prior and spoke to pharmacist the same heartless bitch I've dealt with before made it clear none of my questions she had answers for much less cared to assist. Months ago I had an even worse experience with this same bitch who could not have been less accommodating or heartless when I tried to get answers regarding how to get my medications if they couldn't. The staff at CVS has always been incredibly professional, helpful, and conversational. They've seen me looking horrible, finally giving in to the need to take cold medicine, and have helped me pick out the right product to get me back to health as fast as possible. I went today and finally got my flu shot. They are offering a coupon for $5 off $25 purchase if you get your flu shot...just in case you needed any additional incentive to get it done. This worked out perfectly as I conveniently ran out of hand soap, laundry detergent, and toothpaste all in the same week. The folks in the pharmacy area are all extremely efficient in my experience, so you won't have to wait long for prescriptions or other consultation. This is an excellent store with clearly excellent management. read more

I was visiting the area and woke up with a sore throat that was worthy of being checked. The Clinic opened at 8:30A. I arrived at 8:15A. The Clinic personnel didn't arrive until 9:00A. At 9:05A the nurse told me if I didn't have an appointment I couldn't be seen and there are no available appointments. The store part is fine but the pharmacy is awful. I waited 20 minutes just to drop off a prescription. That was before anyone even helped me. Took another 15 minutes to get them to understand the insurance. Picking it up took another 15 minutes even when they called to tell me it was ready a few days later. Seems they never have what I need in stock and it takes at least 2 days to get. Now it seems they are stuck on automatic refill. I tried changing it on their website but it won't allow me too. I called and they said they took it off auto refill and the website has it off auto refill but for some reason they keep auto refilling it. Always get our prescriptions there ordered glucose sensors on Monday told me they would be ready Tuesday went in Tuesday they told me they were busy but would be ready later that day stopped in Saturday girl told me they were not ready yet that they were out of stock after some argument she found a cvs near by that had them and she sent over an order for them and they would be ready in 20 minutes we drove over to Scottsdale cvs and they told us the order was never sent over but he would fill it in 15 minutes. The pharmacy is far less than adequate. Switched to another CVS farther away given at least one issue with every prescription order or need. Final straw was ordering a prescription and never receiving call or text when ready. Finally went to pick it up, assuming a systemic issue, and pharmacist said they were out of the medication. My provider was booked for several weeks and I had a severe cold. Missed several days of work. I just needed the provider to fill out one form of Family Medical Leave paperwork. I called the call center and the CVS rep who answered told me the provider at the CVS minute clinic would fill out the paperwork. When I arrived I was told no they do not do that. Don't go to the minute clinic. Absolutely horrible. The practitioner was rude and took forever. Asking all kinds of irrelevant questions and made it feel like we were a burden. We were told to arrive at so and so time with online check in. We got there and there was still a 45 min wait and a person in front of us. My husband has had this crap for over a week with throwing up and a fever. She played it off like it was nothing and said maybe bronchitis but didn't really know. No antibiotics were prescribed. Quite frankly she didn't seem to know anything. Being a healthcare professional and knowing what's going around there should have been more of an effort not giving an I don't really know answer. He has gotten worse in the course of two days. He indeed has the flu, bronchitis, and sinus infection and needs antibiotics to get over what's going on Thanks for nothing minute clinic. Never again. The administrator of the flu shots was a rude woman, who raised her voice and embarrassed me when I sat in one of the chairs offered and told me not to sit there and to get out of there (there was no sign saying no sitting,) made me wait 15 minutes to get the shot, pinched my arm very hard when giving the injection and then said she didn't like the way I treated her...I was shocked...I had said nothing except that she wasn't nice...they had several people working behind the windows taking prescription orders and only 2 people waiting for their flu shot. There was an online coupon by the drug manufacturer that they helped me obtain and they were super patient and understanding with me as I had no idea what I was doing. We were worried that we would have a long wait since we arrived at around lunch time but it was super fast. This is my second visit to this location. I was seen by the practitioner she was probably the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. We basically got into an argument about my illness I told her that I had a bacterial infection in my chest and needed an anabiotic because i've dealt with this in the past. The past couple years I've been dealing with an upper respiratory infection which my primary care physician tells me is a bacterial infection and I need to be on anabiotic's. Which gets me better after a couple days when I take them. The practitioner at the minute clinic refuse to give me an anabiotic because she thought that I had a viral infection which she was completely wrong because today on March 5 I had to make an appointment with my normal doctor and again he tells me yes you do have a bacterial infection. It was like pulling teeth trying to get her to give me the right medication. These people are there Supposedly to get you better this lady was more interested in arguing with me I was so frustrated I left I will never go back there again. read more
