The last experience I had at a CVS was super negative, but credit being given where credit is due is the name of the game. Stefan, the pharmacist on Sunday, was polite, pleasant, and more then anything else, went above and beyond for a man in need of a prescription while in the middle of the 3 month waiting period for his new jobs health insurance to Kick in. He found a way to save me over $150 on a script that is something not only very necessary at the moment but always a good idea to have on hand. Super grateful for people like him. I've had my prescriptions filled here for years but yesterday (and today) was the worst experience I've had. I needed a refill on a prescription and called the number on the medication bottle. This time on the call I got welcomed by a pleasant AI woman's voice. It asked for my details, said I had no prescriptions there and then hung up on me. Literally, just hung up. So I called back (second attempt) and this time it allowed me to give the RX number of the medication to it. It then told me that I had no refills on this medication and to contact my doctor. And then it hung up on me. The only thing is: I do have a refill on the prescription. At no one point on either of the two calls would the AI allow me to speak to a human. Literally, the only way to speak to a human is for me to physically go to the CVS Pharmacy. I contacted my doctor who gave me a refill prescription which I got filled today. I spoke to the pharmacist who told me that yes, I did have a refill available on the medication and didn't need a new prescription from my doctor. He doesn't know why the AI said I didn't. He also said, yes, if you call the number on the medication bottle you can't reach a human at all. I also use Costco's pharmacy and I can always reach a human by phone there if need be. I'm beginning to think that moving my prescriptions to Costco (or anywhere where you can speak to a human by phone, if necessary) is the way to go. I hope though that CVS will change it's new system --- which is clearly not working for its customers. read more

They let people's gross pet dogs inside on the carpet. The carpet is stained (probably because they allow people to have their little pet dogs inside) who are NOT service dogs. At first my prescription was incorrectly calculated at more than $10 above actual cost. I was asked to wait 5 minutes to correct the error. No problem. The next representative to check me out,Isabella, rang up the prescription and an additional item to which I had a 50% coupon on my phone. She tried the coupon and said it was invalid. She instructed me to go to the front of the store to ring that item up. When I asked why she said because she would have to redo it on her register. I did not feel like waiting in yet another line and told her no, problem, I will wait until she re-rings up my item. She repeatedly refused and gave the response that there was a customer in line behind me. I had waited my turn patiently and felt I should be served without waiting in another line. She finally, adamantly said I am not going to help you and stood just staring at me. It was very strange behavior. I refused to leave and said well then maybe he will ring me up, motioning to the customer service rep standing behind her. The pharmacist asked her to go to the drive up window and the young man rang me up using the coupon on my phone. Why couldn't she do that? I was being patient and polite. It was an odd feeling to be refused service in that way. I truly feel there's a place for everyone in our society to work together. Isabella doesn't belong behind the pharmacy counter as a customer service rep unless she is counseled and complies with professional customer service care. Update : Changing this to one star due to the fact they have now took away the women's restroom. They only allow the men's restroom which is one stall for the entire building and REEKS of urine. Very very strongly. And shocker , there was no toilet paper.... maybe they are stuck in 2020 and still think there's a toilet paper shortage ? Also extremely filthy in that bathroom and I visited a few days ago and after waiting a few minutes in line for the bathroom i walked in and found what i feared to be poop smeared on the wall in the initial of an "R". No soap in the bathroom either. I also was waiting after picking up medicine and sunscreen and I watched a cashier literally belittle an elderly woman who was obviously confused on why she couldn't purchase tylenol at self checkout. I felt so bad for her I had to step in and explain her that it's an age restricted product because the cashier only yelled at her but wouldn't take the time out of his day to explain exactly why. read more

Halloween is really my favorite time of the year. So when I saw this skeleton figure I knew I had the perfect place for this little guy. The price was a bit high for me to buy it so thought I'd wait a few days before Halloween when they start getting rid of seasonal merchandise. I spoke with Gene, one of the managers there and asked when it would be going on sale. He said they'd probably discount it after the 31st and maybe even the following weekend. He was so accommodating and helpful. Thinking that it would look great on my patio for Halloween night, I called him a second time and asked him if there would be any possibility of grabbing it that night and offering him 50% off. He knew I was pretty persistent in wanting it so he accommodated my request and asked when I could stop by. Within 30 minutes, I loaded him into my car, got the candy and set him up to greet anyone who came by the front door. Thank you Gene!! I appreciate this kind of customer service. Don't go to this Pharmacy, The male pharmacist will never fill my Controlled substances prescriptions. Even though I have used CVS for 30 years. Just had breast surgery and he will not fill. He says it's to Sususpicious. Every time I go there he acts like he is my dr. And I get a lecture every time, and then he never fills it when I go back. Ask me , why I go back. Only because they have a drive threw! He can see my medical prescription history. No more! Worse customer service ever, lies to me all the time. He is verbally abusive. I am 64 years old. And I am in great health. I bring all the required paperwork. And he is just an Ass hole! Is it because I am women? Senior? I didn't realize I was being profiled. The Laguna Beach CVS has severe pharmacy problems. This pharmacy is DANGEROUS. I have experienced: 1) While leaning on their flu shot sign at the pharmacy, which stated talk to the pharmacy to receive a flu shot, I was told "We don't give flu shots." I pointed to the sign and was told, "Oops, come back in 3 or 4 hours. The person in charge of the shots is out for a long lunch." 2) Picking up 3 prescriptions for my wife, I was handed a bag. Went home and opened the bag. None of the 3 were for my wife, or the right medication. Went back to the pharmacy. Was handed a new bag of 3. Opened the bag before leaving the counter. Two were right and one was wrong person/prescription. Got it replaced. My daughter, who lives in Atlanta and gets her thyroid medication from a CVS there asked the Atlanta CVS to contact the Laguna CVS to get a refill. She contacted the Laguna CVS and was told, "We don't carry that medication, the big CVS in Irvine has it and it's just a few minutes away." (30 minutes each way.) read more

Covid testing, contracted with Quest Diagnostics, here is a joke ! I've seen better medical logistics in undeveloped 3rd world countries ! First of all, the location will not get your results...you have to "sign-up" from a preliminary email, previous to being notified about your actual results. Do you think they mentioned this??? Of course not ! Was if free...? Yes. Was it a simple process in the drive thru? Yes. Do you have to respond to a specific email previously withing 24 hours, create a user profile and password (alphanumeric, upper & lower case, including non-alphanumeric symbol) and of course, agree to annoying text message notifications to your private cell number, to actually get a simple POSITIVE or NEGATIVE answer? YES, YES, and more YES. Is this a complete waste of my time and effort for the obvious simplicity required by the general public currently......ABSOLUTELY ! Do you have to do all this crap at Walgreens? NO ! Do yourself a favor, just use this spot for a simple purchase, like aspirin or Dr, Scholl's shoe inserts. CVS like any chain store can very VASTLY from each location, but the CVS off Rothbury Dr in Montgomery Village has improved dramatically, most specifically the pharmacy department. There was a period of time from when the pharmacy manager (who ran an outstanding department) left the store and several temporary pharmacists worked in his place. The consistancy and customer service took a dive during this period of time, but now the store is back on track with consistent staff members who provide great customer service. read more

Tired of rudeness and incompetence Warning, this is a long and detailed review in the hopes it gets back to CVS management. General readers need not bother reading the examples. I usually only give positive reviews but I have received consistently terrible service from one pharmacist - the short, brown-haired woman with an accent (Brown-hair) who has been at the Dana Point CVS at32900 PCH for the 6 years I have lived in the area. The long blond-haired pharmacist is slightly better but still treats customers as an imposition. Im told many regular customers ask for Stephan to help them because he is more knowledgeable and nice. Most of the pharmacy cashiers have been good to great, even when understaffed, which is why I gave 1 star. CVS has occasionally hired competent pharmacists, like Stephan, but they don't stay long. Brown-hair is consistently rude, unhelpful and regularly lies, trying to put blame with doctor or insurance company. In every case, when I follow up with the doctor and insurance company, the error is with Brown-hair. Even my doctors' staff are put off and amazed by her lack of basic knowledge of the CVS process and computer system. Just 3 examples out of dozens: 1. I once waited 10 minutes for her to acknowledge me while dropping off a prescription. I was the only customer at the pharmacy and was standing no more than 3 feet away from Brown-hair. There's no way she didn't see me. I finally asked for help. There was no apology for keeping me waiting and she made it clear I was an imposition. 2. I have ordered a particular medication for the last 6 years, on a monthly basis. When I will be traveling, the doctor writes the prescription early with explanation and insurance approves early refill. It never fails that brown-hair tells me it is too soon to refill. Doctor's office and insurance company have to explain to her how to use her own CVS Ssystem. She always insists it wasn't her fault. Funny that this process has gone smoothly when processed by Pharmacy Manager or a competent pharmacist. 3. Today I tried to drop off a prescription for which I had a coupon. Brown-hair begrudgingly tried to process but when she could not, she told me the problem was on my end. It was not but Brown-hair said she had no time to pursue and I would have to wait for Stephan to arrive in 30 minutes. Brown-hair said Stephan is a specialist... "coupon specialist?" Nonsense. Stephan spent all of a minute entering the info from the coupon at the prompts and price was quickly adjusted. Of course, no apology from Brown-hair for the wait, and she implied the fault was not hers. CVS, you can and should do better. Please Properly train pharmacists to use your computer system and to be civil to your customers. read more

She was so helpful with makeup products recommendations and is very sweet (something i have never experienced before at cvs). I will say that when I was in line to check out there was a very difficult customer in front of me and she had so much patience with them, I can only imagine how many times a day this happens to her! She definitely needs a raise for dealing with some of these grumpy old people lol! I have worked customer service before so I know how difficult it can be! I so disappointing that they don't even have a " mask required " sign in their door, as far as I'm concerned this is a health care facility especially at the pharmacy where there are vulnerable and sick patients. Of course about 50% of customers it wearing a mask and there is absolutely no enforcement. This week I actually witnessed a woman, no mask who had absolutely no respect for the pharmacist, who was wearing a mask, ask him for several minutes a consult regarding laxatives. REALLY? I came in to pick up a pregnancy test (this is embarrassing to post on the internet, but I feel the need to share this story). While checking out, the male clerk asks me if I'm trying for a baby. Why would anyone ask this? Not only is there a 50/50 chance whether I'm hoping to be pregnant or hoping to not be, but it's simply none of his business. If I had bought menstrual products, would he have asked if it was "that time of the month"? This is just completely unacceptable behavior, but it gets worse. I tried laughing it off and said that no, I was actually hoping not to have a baby. He then looked at me quizzically and said "Well, you need to use protection, girl." I was dumbfounded. I was so uncomfortable and just wanted to leave at this point. What I do in my bedroom is none of his business. I happened to be in the area and had time before an appointment and figured I would do a little shopping at CVS. This CVS shares its parking lot with several other businesses, finding parking at this CVS will never be an issue. I walked into this CVS and immediately noticed how large this location was and how empty it was. I literally walked around the store which is the size of a supermarket and only observed a few customers. The staff working was minimal but the staff that I encountered seemed nice and all had smiles on their faces. A couple of the brands that I shop for are CVS brands and of course I have a CVS not with my true information so I can capitalize on the bargains listed in their flyers. I was able to locate several items that I use regularly that had CVS 'extra reward' points rewarded upon checkout. This CVS has a drive-thru Pharmacy service and of course you can go old school and walk in and get that face to face service. This CVS also offers a photo center, lottery kiosk, pet section, food section, beer & wine section. You will also find a cool little knickknack section if you are a last minute shopper you might find a few cool little items to give out as gift no matter the occasion. I found this CVS to be clean, easy accessible and all of the aisles to be clearly marked with the items on display. If and when I find myself in the area again I would without question come back. read more
