On May 22, 2026 at approximately 7:45 PM, I had a very upsetting experience at the CVS pharmacy on LPGA Blvd. I am a Type 1 diabetic and was in urgent need of insulin syringes after a malfunction with my insulin pump. My blood sugar was rising into the 400s, and I explained clearly that this was a medical necessity and that I was from out of town without access to my usual supplies. I also explained that I am a veteran and receive my medications through the VA. The pharmacist on duty (tall white male with a beard) was dismissive from the start. He cut me off mid-sentence, showed no empathy, stated it was "his policy" (not CVS policy) not to sell syringes unless medications were filled at that location, and then walked away while I was still speaking. There was no attempt to explain alternatives, and no professionalism in how this situation was handled. What makes this especially concerning is the inconsistency. I immediately went to another CVS location (795 W Granada Blvd), where I was helped without any issue. The pharmacist there listened, treated me with respect, and provided the syringes I needed. That interaction likely prevented my situation from escalating further. This experience highlights a serious concern: access to essential diabetic supplies should not depend on which pharmacist a patient happens to encounter. When decisions are left entirely to individual discretion without consistency, it creates confusion and raises concerns about whether all patients are being treated fairly. I personally felt dismissed and prejudged during this interaction, which was especially difficult given the medical urgency of the situation. Refusing a sale may be within a pharmacist's discretion, but the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which I was treated is not acceptable--especially in a medical situation. I have included documentation from the other CVS location to show that this item can be provided. I have also submitted a formal complaint to CVS and intend to report this incident to the Florida Board of Pharmacy. I hope CVS management reviews this incident carefully. After 5 attempts over a week to pick up an antibiotic and it continued to be "out of stock", I asked to have my two prescriptions be moved to a different store. I told the Pharmacist of the problems, mostly customer service and incompetence, he replies, "This pharmacy is having more problems than you know." When I said, "Then close, before you kill someone!" He said, "That is more difficult than you know." WHAT? MEANWHILE, my eyes will be swollen shut before the day is over, because they take two days before they can "get to" the transfer. read more

Ridiculously unprofessional pharmacy. Waited in drive through line 40 minutes. Finally got to the front, only to find a handwritten sign that the pharmacy is closed for an hour come back later for your covid test. We understand the issues of being short staffed. We understand the need for breaks. What is unacceptable is not at the very least sending someone out to tell the 5 cars in line that they will not be served. Rude. Unprofessional. read more

A very nice new CVS with great staff. The pharmacy is wonderful and always helpful. There is plenty of selection of thing in the store and it has always been clean when I have stopped by to get something. There is actually 3 entrances in. If you are heading west on LPGA look for the twinlakes entrance on the right before Clyde Morris. There is an entrance on the left. It looks like you are pulling into a field but it connect to CVS. read more

Never in my life had the pharmacy say they don't carry the medication prescribed by my Dr. I need to call around and find the medication myself. They could have told the Dr. when it was called in rather than me going to CVS to find out. We are from out of town. This is why we switched to Walgreens 20 years ago. One Star is too high of a rating. I've lived in Florida my entire life and this is the worst pharmacy I've ever had to encounter. Takes forever to get a prescription filled. If there are two people in line you might as well forget it because they can't seem to be able to get the customer through the process of getting them their medicine and receive payment. It can take them over an hour to take care of two customers. The drive thru? Forget it. More than two cars and you might as well turn around and go home. The person at the the drive thru window doesn't seem to have any urgency in taking care of the customer. Is it any wonder why you see more Walgreens than CVS? I will be contacting my doctor to change pharmacy. I would rather suffer with my ailments than to ever set foot in that sorry excuse of a drugstore ever again! read more

Wish I could give a zero star. One of the worst pharmacies. Have to wait days for a simple prescription. Always understaffed. Employees are rude. And on top of all that I received incorrect quantity in my meds. I'm not sure how that is accepted at all. And I worry for people that might not notice. read more

Theres a woman in the pharmacy who is so nasty she does NOT know how to speak to people. On two different occasions I have had to deal with her she is extremely rude, dismissive, talks over you when you're in the middle of explaining yourself. To work in a pharmacy you need to practice patience because not everyone is familiar with what they are being prescribed and still has questions about things. She needs to be replaced. Dont know her name shes the only rude white woman there won't be hard to figure out who it is. read more

This is a very busy pharmacy and I can understand why people get frustrated; however, when you need the medication immediately they will prioritize you. I have had wonderful experience with the pharmacist and their support staff. Inside the store the gentleman that manages is very kind and when asked will assist. The store is clean and organized and if you don't want the hassle of going up there and the meds aren't required immediately they deliver to your door/mailbox. How great is that? read more

They deserve No stars. I received a text letting me know that they will try to contact my doctor for refill. The prescriptions are correct, however the Dr isn't. I attempted to call to speak with the pharmacy. The person that answered needs to go to like a PHONE PRO class. She was so rude. First of all, they close for lunch and dinner. The hours for the CVS are not listed correctly on the website. Nothing indicates they close for anything. She said, " you will need to call back on Monday. We are getting ready to close". Didn't say for dinner, or for the evening. She slams the telephone down. I worked in customer service for almost 40 years. If I would have acted like that, I would have been fired. Never even gave her name. Maybe let her count pills or something. Not answer the telephone. If this store is having issues, close it down. There are others around here. looks like others gave the same score. We had to go to Jacksonville FL one day to p/u meds. This location never received it. Need to get it together CVS. read more

I had an appointment for a covid test. I showed up about 10 minutes early and waited in line for about 30 minutes. When I finally got to the window, the woman told me that they cannot process covid tests right now. One of the pharmacists who was not there had changed the password to their computer system and they could not figure out how to get into it. This pharmacy obviously has to work on their communication skills. read more

Our insurance provider encourages the use of CVS and supposedly charges more to use another pharmacy. The first time through the drive through the employee was very polite - however, this time, the blonde girl was horrifying. She was impatient with the person on the phone, bad mouthed about the person to the pharmacist, never cracked a smile to me, made me feel like an idiot for not picking up meds in a timely manner and requesting a break down of charges. I called several hours later for a confirmation and unfortunately she answered with her salty and annoyed attitude. Will not be going back to this CVS for the pharmacy - will go to another one just to avoid her. read more

The pharmacist at this location is rude and inconsiderate. He is quite the little drug nazi with an incredible god complex. I am disabled and have limited mobility and complex health issues so when I have doctor's appointments it is far easier for me to pick up my medications on the same day. Does he care? No. He repeatedly holds my medications for any number of reasons that are within his "discretion". I have never requested my controlled medications early or given him cause to carry out his power games. The previous pharmacist and I had an understanding and she had faith and confidence in me to secure my medications and take them properly since she knew that I was a former Cop. He hasn't even allowed me the opportunity to try to explain or come to an understanding as to why I pick up my medications on the day of my doctor's appointments. Add in the fact that he countermands some of my doctor's prescriptions, refusing to fill them until the doctor tells him to. The one time he did deign to talk with me he didn't even stop what he was doing or bother to look at me. I asked him why he was refusing to fill a prescription and he said he wasn't comfortable as a doctor filling it. I replied that he was not a medical doctor he told me he was a "medical doctor". (a doctor of pharmacology is NOT a medical doctor) This is the third month that he is playing these ego games with me. I have complained to corporate and they have basically said it is out of their hands since he works under his license. When I find a pharmacist that I can work with, that will take my medical conditions into consideration I will go there. I strongly suggest everyone find a different store to go to. read more

This place is a joke and I hate the fact that I even have to deal with them. My insurance provider says this is who I have to use so unfortunately I am stuck with them. First, in my experience with this business, its my opinion that pack of cub scouts and preschoolers have more knowledge than the staff/pharmacist have here. Second, the price is never, ever, the same and they 2-3 times more expensive than most other pharmacies around. Over half the time they do not have the med that you actually need and you end up waiting days for them. Do they call or text you letting you know that they are in..... heck no! You have to follow up, daily. Do they call another CVS and see if they have what you want? Nope, just tell you to bad you have to wait. Third, they claim to have a fax, then claim they don't. Do not tell someone "we will have to fax it over to the Dr" and then in the next breather when you tell them they have to fax the insurance company say, "oh. We don't have a fax machine". So which is it, do you or don't you? Lastly, do not try and us a coupon along with your Co pay. They always claim that the coupon is no good if you have a Co pay. Even if the coupon states it can be used with a Co pay they will argue with you and say that it's wrong. Do your best to avoid this place. read more

I like this store. The manager is very helpful and very friendly which is hard to find in today's shopping in store experiences. He takes the time to ask if you found everything and if you didn't he explains why it may not be in the store, like the wrong season for flip flops. I just moved back here to Daytona Beach and I will be back to this store. read more

Front store staff are friendly. Pharmacy SUCKS! Even if you call to get your prescriptions filled, they are still not filled by the date and time they said the pills will be ready for pick up. This has happened several times. Even their automated text pick up is messed up. You push "yes" you want them filled- you go to pick them up the following day- they aren't filled. read more

I love this CVS branch. It is clean and neatly stocked. Most of all - the staff is friendly and accommodating.
