I've never witnessed such incompetence. My doctor called in 2 co-dependent prescriptions, on 8/25. I received a text that they were out of stock with a link that said it would be available for pickup the next day. It wasn't. They said they would text me when the prescriptions came in. 5 days later I get a text notifying me that they received a prescription order and asking me if I wanted to fill it. I respond YES. The next day I receive an email saying that the prescription is ready for pickup. When I arrived on 9/2, 8 days after the prescriptions were submitted, they asked me if I had insurance which I had already provided but for some reason they did not have in their system, so the labels had to be retyped and my insurance information re-entered. I waited about 5-10 minutes for that. Next, they asked me if I wanted the other prescription which they needed to order. Again, one prescription was useless without the other, so the answer is obviously "yes." I asked them why they called me in if the order was not complete, and why they hadn't even ordered the second prescription. The response was literally "oh. it's here, we just haven't ordered it yet." Another 5-10 minutes while they take care of that. Finally, before I leave, I open the bag to make sure I got what was prescribed. Nope! Pharmacists that can't read - what could possible go wrong? The worst pharmacy ever !!! I dropped of a prescription on Tuesday. I come back on Wednesday to pick it up and they can't find it. After waiting 25 minutes I'm told by the pharmacist she will call the Dr and request a new prescription. Almost 3 hours later no call back. I go back and I am told pharmacist left for the day! I'm told sorry I don't have an answer for you !!!! Now I understand why they have only two stars. read more

The staff at this location is beyond unbelievable, they go above and beyond and whatever they can to help you , always friendly, they are quick efficient and professional and don't keep you waiting . This is the best pharmacy staff I have ever come across , no matter what time of day you get phenomenal customer service, I would never go to another location and I've been coming here for three years and their customer service just gets better and better and they're always above and beyond I highly recommend I wish I could give more stars read more

I needed to find a drugstore in the area my daughter ate something and broke out in hives . I came across this particular CVS on North Ave in Garwood. It has a nice parking lot and I was able to find what I was looking for and get in and out in 5 minutes. The aisles are well displayed and neatly organized. When I got to check out counter I was greeted by a friendly CVS worker who said hello and asked if she could check me out which I appreciated . I handed her my CVS discount card she rang me up and off I went. All in all I had a pleasant experience and wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

It's open late, shelves are stocked and customer service is on par. I have nothing but good to say about this CVS. I had a project due and being the procrastinator that I sometimes am I left it to the last minute. I ran to Rite and was told it would take 30 min because their outdated photo kiosk had to upload every single picture on my device..wtf? So I came to CVS, late at night and Danny was so helpful, made sure my picture came out perfect! Thank you Danny!! I also use the pharmacy here and am satisfied with them. read more

Usually I wouldn't post a review of something like a retail store based on just one visit but feel compelled to point out a helpful CVS/Garwood employee whose name, I believe, is Brandyn (spelled that way, I think) as he went out of his way to assist me. A job serving the public can be a thankless task, so I just want to say: This helpful fellow offered to aid me in finding something but, realizing the item might be in another part of the store, took the initiative to find it for me while I was still browsing the shelf where he - and I, for that matter - had thought it would be located. We were in the area of the town that I lived in when I was a little toddler, and CVS was on the list of errands that needed to be completed. We forgot that this particular location existed since it wasn't around in the early 90s. I bet you folks in the local area remember this spot as being a factory or warehouse unit during that time. So why was I here? Some cereal and dish-washing liquid were on sale in the flyer, so we came here to get some. They had them in stock, which was good. The person at the cash register exhibited a pleasant attitude. Is all of that worth five stars? Unfortunately that wasn't enough for the full rating. In fact, I was quite turned off by the organization of the shelves. Even though some shelves were neatly organized, others that I saw were quite messy. Some merchandise were even placed in spots where they didn't belong. For example, what's a jar of cheese topping doing in the cereal shelf? As with any CVS, this store contained a very limited selection of groceries, candies, and general merchandise for household cleaning. They also carried cosmetics and merchandise for personal hygiene. Finally, they carried a selection of over-the-counter medications. The organization was overall hit-or-miss. I've never utilized the pharmacy department here, therefore I can't comment on that. Parking with this location isn't an issue at all. Even though they have it's own parking lot, other patrons could park in the lot that's owned by Garwood Plaza if CVS's lot is completely full. i have been going to cvs for many years... i started going to this one because when i got married and i needed to get scripts filled i asked my husband who is from the area which cvs should i go to and he referred me the one in garwood. when i first going to them they were great and there service in the pharmacy dept. now there service is grade a terrible.. the pharmacy tech angela told me that " customers are not always right!!" and continued tell me that as i was leaving the store as well.. to top it off i am a cancer survivor and i made a comment to angela that i am cancer survivor and she told if i am cancer survivor i should go to drive thru.. wtf is that how she is treating a customer... i am asian american woman and i think she has something against the asian race... i see how she treats other races and especially of the same color that she is she treats them like gold!!!! at the time this horrific disaster the pharmacist who was new and young wasn't wearing a mask!!! with that being said they never have my medicine in stock i always have to come back again two days later... terrible service in the pharmacy dept... the store itself is great... read more

I moved to the area and since my pharmacy of choice is CVS, I thought it would be natural to continue with them. BIG MISTAKE!, I have never met a group of people that are incredibly rude, lazy, disorganized, it feels as though they are doing the customer a favor by coming to retrieve your prescription meds. They always mess up my prescriptions, they "forget" to process what's in the queue, they ask you to wait 5 minutes, which then turns into 20, and so on. This store employs the most ignorant,disconnected group of pharmacists, pharmacy techs , and store managers on the planet! Their customer service skills are non-existent and their understanding of medical conditions and how important their role in having medications available makes one wonder how they could market and sell over the counter meds, let alone prescription meds. They have no compassion, are totally unhelpful (even to those they know and recognize as their customers for over a decade) They were rude, and it's pathetic and concerning that they are the last link in the healthcare chain that patients have to depend on to get well. If I can give them a zero, I would. Zero for respect, zero for desire to helpful and zero for courteous interactions, Zero for being competent and zero for compassion and care to people with chronic, serious illness. Of special mention is "Sarah" and their store manager who get a double zero! Written just before Christmas, 2018, when people (especially those in healthcare) are supposed to be at their best. I guess I'm the lone wolf for good reviews here. I needed to pick up a prescription late at night. The pharmacist on staff was one of the friendliest, kindest people I've ever met at a CVS. We carried on a long discussion about computers, generic medication vs. the brand name, and all sorts of crazy stories about what goes on at the store. It truly was a really fun experience,and i learned a lot in the short time i was waiting for my prescription to be ready. I personally would highly recommend the pharmacy department (at least late at night, i have no idea what it's like during the day) for Top Notch, awesome service. read more

So I went there to print out 100 pictures for $10, Once I got there they told me that was an online only sale :( so I said ok and was going to do it on my pc but she then told me they have a sale in store as well but she didn;t know the price, so the brought someone to help me, they both found out that the sale was the same price in store (they checked on the cvs iPhone things). So my sister picked out 100 pics to print she picked them it showed as $20. But the guy also had told me it would come off after I put my membership in. So this guy goes home and so does the other lady. Once the pictures are done the price didn't change. Since they both left a couple of new people came in, one with a really big mustache that twirls. He was the problem, he didn't care what I told him had happened with the other employees, he was very rude, cut me off as I explained the situation, walked away while we were talking, ignoring me and gave priority to customers that came there after me, before he helped me. Very disrespectful, my sister and I couldn't believe it. Anyways he was not giving it toe me for the price of $10 so I asked to speak to his manager. The manager came with a huge smile on his face and solved the problem. The guy with the mustache got angrier once the manager left. while waiting for my prescription, they have a machine that measures your blood pressure. mine came up 140/91 but I had just came from the doctor's office to fill a prescription and at the doctors office it was 108/64 which is about what it has been all my life. so don't believe the CVS machine. We have just changed all of our prescriptions to Walgreen's in Cranford, NJ. Calling the Garwood CVS is impossible - very long hold times and even if a prescriber calls after a few minutes it goes to their voicemail. The store itself is cluttered and dirty. Stained chairs in the pharmacy - that would be gross to sit on waiting for your Rx plus would people really want to get flu shots at this location? Stained floors. A couple of the pharmacy staff are RUDE, cold, rushed and unhelpful. Was so happy when one particular employee left, but now she is employed at the Westfield Verizon store ...would rather drive to Watchung Verizon than deal with her. Two months ago it seems CVS replaced this woman with another employee who has the same hardened attitude. This particular CVS is often out of stock on name brands. No sense to go on...one simple call to Walgreens and my prescriptions were transferred from CVS and immediately filled the same day. read more

This evening I went to CVS and attempted to use my 30 percent CVS coupon discount and the salesperson Rina did not enter it in so I questioned her and she rudely answered me and insulted me saying she included the discount when in fact she did not. The manager was called over and in fact she had not included the 30 percent discount. She continued to have an attitude with me even though she was incorrect. When I arrived home, I analyzed the receipt and noticed she also figured out the NJ tax incorrectly by registering the discount as a manufacturers coupon when in fact it's a vendor's coupon, therefore, resulting in a higher NJ sales tax. The cash register help should be instructed more extensively in handling customers with respect and should be instructed on accurately calculating discounts and entering the correct discounts when calculating NJ sales tax. read more

Late at night I always have a great experience as well. A Turkish Pharmacist there is super sweet and helpful with all kinds of knowledgeable suggestions at night. During the day the female staff are friendly but there is one man who is a bit rude and always puts my ATM card in my prescription bag and staples it inside when going through the drive through. Does he not realize I need that card before getting home to open my meds? Once I threw away the bag not knowing my ATM/Credit card was in there and I had to order a new card and wait 2 weeks for it. He keeps doing it so I have to special request each time I have him not to do that. Someone please stop him from doing that. In the store, it is always in great order, lots of great products and fast checkout. I am there all the time. I like it better than the other choices in town which have people who do not know what they are doing and don't know where things are. read more
