The gal at the vaccine check in area gave me incorrect information on what Covid vaccines they had. I wanted Novavax and called in advance, but when I arrived she told me they didn't have it and I said well that doesn't make sense because I already called and I was told they did. Then she went and checked and sure enough they did then of course she questioned my age and if I was eligible for a vaccine which I absolutely am because I'm over 65 and I also have cancer. The was not the vaccine tech and it was not her place to question me at all. Very disappointing. read more

Have been. using tha pharmacy at Glouc Crossing and before that on Main Street. I loved the pharmacist that was once there - he knew me by name. He was polite. He treated customers with respect. I am leaving this pharmacy at GLOUCESTER CROSSING (not Thatcher) after experiencing so many mistakes made, no apologies. They charged me for medications that were supposed to be free a few weeks ago - covered by Medicare. We tried to explain to the person at the windwo that it is always free through Medicare, and that she could check the system ot see that we always get it through Medicare - not through our supplement. She refused to listen despite the fact that her records should have showed that it was free and a simple search on Medicare shows that they are free, but the attitude was far from what I used to experience--they simply won't listen. Now it happened again - the disrespect by a pharmacist who refused to listen. Last week, I saw an older woman crying at that window - this week I was the one crying. I am moving all of my meds to Walgreens, and suggesting that everyone I know do the same. This place has become a profit-oriented center where people at the windows are not trained on some of the basics - such as what Medicare covers for life-threatening illnesses. If they would listen the the customer with the life threatening illness, they might have actually looked this up on the Medicare site. Instead they stuck to the story - you have to pay for this. I had to leave without it - and it is an essential device that keeps me alive. We had to call Medicare and print out the document that shows it is free. Then a similar problem happened this week. I would have stayed as a customer if the man at the window, who I believe is temporary, would have listened to me as I have been giong there for decades and know how my own drug list works, what is free, what has changed. I spent a lot of time with Blue Cross -- and they called CVS to tell them to give me a supply of life-saving drugs for a vacation...BC was quite sure that all was well. Of course, CVS said that Blue Cross was wrong on how it worked. Back and forth, no respect from CVS, but at least Blue Cross was very helpful. Sad, I used to love the pharmacist there - a tall thin guy who understood Mediare, customer service, the urgency of some drugs, the emotions invovled in trying to get through the red tape. THAT IS ALL GONE. Disgusted. I was treated like a "stupid old woman" by the man at the window - and his nametag showed "pharmacist." I am still a bit shaken and was not able to get any of the drugs that Blue Cross had scheduled for vacation supplies. read more

Recently moved to Gloucester and was dreading transferring LOTS of prescriptions smoothly. Have been delighted with the ease with which we did this. Old prescriptions transferred, refill needs addressed, quick response to online contacts, cordial staff- even got 4 vaccines ! for each of us. read more

Thank you to the Pharmacy Team for going above and beyond! I received a refill message to pick-up, went to my local CVS to learn my prescription was in Napa! I had traveled last fall, forgot my prescription and had a seamless experience to get my prescription filled in Napa, thank you! At the Gloucester CVS, the girl mentioned my prescription was in Napa and when I asked what to do, she offered she would speak with the Pharmacist and switch it back. I was able to pick up the next day, was awesome! Thank you to the Pharmacy Team here in Gloucester who saved me a lot of time and I'm sure a lot less stress taking care of this for me. Don't even look for anything basic in this place. It will take forever to find it, if they even have it. The corporate CVS business plan is running stores like my local CVS into generically stocked trash emporiums. I'm guessing that CVS' shelves are all rented out to companies who sell this overpriced mindless stuff you don't really need. It's their business model. That's why they have no one who cares that people walk out of the door without paying for stuff. CVS is not losing money: the companies who rent shelf space are losing money. I went into my Thatcher Rd. CVS 2 days ago because I needed a plain white mailing envelope, but they don't sell them and can't even order any. The manager says they can only sell whatever is sent to them by HQ. So apparently CVS HQ thinks I might need 7 sizes of manilla envelopes, 4 kinds of bubble wrap, 43 varieties of mailing tapes and reams of laser printable envelope labels. But plain white envelopes? Nope. Not enough profit margin selling simple plain stuff. One of the helpful clerks (the women who work there are nice) suggested I could ask the supermarket next door. I guess that unlike CVS retail managers, supermarket managers are still able to decide what their stores sell. Anyway, thanks for running all the small drugstores and stationery stores in the USA out of business CVS! Your stores are filled to the brim with stuff no one needs. Good luck with that! And one other thing CVS: what's with this incessant printing of coupons for CVS "adult care" diapers on every single 3 ft. long receipt that's spit out when I make a purchase? Obviously as a pharmacy client, you know my age, and I'm no teenager, so I can't help view this ploy as chronically insulting market profiling. Sheesh. read more

Not surprised with the lack of stars- the customer service at the pharmacy is appalling. Extremely rude, I think they could all benefit from a customer service training. They should not be allowed to treat paying customers with such horrible service. read more

I am appalled at the way CVS assumes its customers are dumb. Customers often use their coupons to save money but CVS' coupons are virtually worthless. Today I went in and bought a foot care item that was $11.99. I gave the coupon to the cashier and what do you know, the coupon stated the item had to be $12. This happens more often than not and I will not shop there anymore. It is nothing short of insulting to pretend you are giving someone a discount, and then inevitably the coupon is ineligible. CVS ought to take a good hard look at their policies- Customers are smarter than you think! read more

Brought an item to return yesterday . I did not have the sales slip with me. The return was processed but for much less than what I paid . I asked why the different amount and was told they can only offer the lowest price this item cost in the past . What ?? With no other recourse available I had to accept this rediculous policy. I then found the sales record for this item in my email record for this sale and again presented it to the store manager who explained that since I allowed the transaction to be complete with no recourse regardless of proof found in my email indicating the sale and amount paid . The only reason offered regardless of proof otherwise was " It's store policy" I couldn't believe that I was told POLICY rules . Totally incredulous explanation !! I was quite upset hearing this rediculous reasoning !! My body immediately tightened up and I felt clenched up at which point the manager felt the need to expel me from the store threatening to call the police if I returned . Why would I ever return to a business that has no respect for its customers and threatens police action as a response ! This correspondence will be forwarded to CVS corporate offices regarding this event and hopefully an honest resolution !! read more

I've been going to this pharmacy long as I remember. But now I'm thinking of switching pharmacies. I've been sick for with a common cold and today decided to go to urgent care.. they gave me a antibiotic medication to take for a sinus infection. Went over around 11:00 am and didn't leave there til about 12:00pm. I had to tell the pharmacy staff to fill my Medication or I'm going elsewhere. Somehow that worked. Once I'm over this I'm gonna go to the new cvs and have everything changed over. I have heard they are so much better then this location. I most definitely don't recommend the pharmacy but I do suggest the rest of the store. I wouldn't waste my time at this location anymore. Now practically every CVS in the country is now avoiding phone calls. You can no longer call the pharmacy to speak to a live person, now you have to leave a message on a voicemail for them to call you back and they will either not call you back or they will take several hours to call you back. What if a person has a question about their medications? How will certain people know if their medications is ready for pick up if you can't call to ask? My wife and I had to drive all the way to the pharmacy just to talk to the pharmacist. That's just absolutely ridiculous! It's like the staff just don't want to be bothered with phone calls anymore and don't care if someone needs to speak to them. Talk about not caring about your customers, because of CVS refusing to take phone calls I will be transferring my medications to a different pharmacy, a pharmacy that actually answers their phone and cares about their customers. read more

Something is very wrong with the pharmacy here. Staff has quit an service is commensurately very poor. The drive up window is closed. They tell you "10 minutes" for your prescription then never call your name. Are they trying to wean us off this store to the new location at Gloucester Crossing? Have used this CVS pharmacy for years. The pharmacists that I've spoken to have always been cooperative And extremely knowledgeable. An actual fact is that I have gotten some better advice from these pharmacists than I have from my doctor. I don't understand the negative reviews. I'm 78 years old and have quite a few issues so therefore quite a few questions about medications. They have always been answered patiently and with respect. They always go out of their way to fill the prescriptions properly and if they don't have it on hand have it with in 24 hours. The store itself is older and a bit small by today's standards but they have a good selection and I'm more interested in the pharmacy anyway. At least two of the in-store employees are very nice and also very helpful. Five stars for the pharmacy. Three stars for the store. read more

I feel slightly odd reviewing a place like CVS. It's CVS: you can find at least two of these in practically every city, so why bother to review it? There are a couple employees here that I just love. I've worked retail and I know how much the job sucks, so it always makes me happy to see someone smiling and actually acknowledge me as a person, not just someone they want to get rid of as fast as possible. (I also have a slight anxiety problem: the usual dismissive cashiers? They make me feel awkward and unwelcome, so this point is more important than you know.) One of the pharmacists is just great. I had to visit the emergency room one day because I had a horrific stye, and the doctor made me feel like I was wasting his time. The pharmacist made me feel a whole heck of a lot better about it. I go here because it's the closest drug store, but I'm happy with the place. read more

I spent about 45 min in the pharmacy area waiting for paperwork to get through. I found that this CVS has unsafe infection control practices. They invited me to sit in a chair as a waited. I did not dare doing so as I witness 4 people sitting there before me without any cleaning in between. I do not know how they clean them anyway. Chairs have cloth seats. When I was ready to get my flu vaccin, I noted that the technician did not clean her area after the previous client. I refused to sit down until she cleaned her station up. The cashier asked for my insurance card, she had trouble with the computer and as she is struggling she leaned on her hand with the hand by her mouth still holding my insurances card. She did have a mask on, but was not comfortable with my card touching her mask near her mouth. All employees had masks on and 1 person cleaned her station as she stepped in for her shift. This is a health care business and I surely did not feel safe there. I feel a lot more safer at my local hardware. read more

Absolute worst service. Talked to a female pharmacist that was nothing short of cocky and rude. Unbelievable. I will not buy any more prescriptions from CVS. I will pay more through Walgreens based strictly on principle. My insurance is affiliated with CVS and left Walgreens because prescriptions were slightly cheaper. Not worth the aggravation of the atrocious customer service. read more

The local cvs is very nice BUT their web site is not user friendly. Without registering with a password it is difficult to look at their ad. Walgreens is simple, user friendly and I can easily look at their ad on line and therefore now always shop their not CVS read more

Do a great job taking care of our meds and services. It's a big business, but they are efficient and organized prices are fair good. selection of products good, photolab good spot for greeting cards and quick items. Lots of coupons prices seem fair, generally cleaner than a lot of the other places, preferable for rite aid. read more

this review is for the CVS at 100 GLOUCESTER CROSSING ROAD gloucester, ma.. BAD management and RUDE employee.. i called to find out what i needed to do to get a flu shot.. they said on the phone just come in we do walk in's.. so i walked in and they said oh sorry we're closing at 5pm this was sat. at 4:50pm.. they said come back tomorrow at 10am and we can help you then.. so i returned the next morning sun. @10am as they has had instructed.. they then said oh sorry we can't give you a walk in we only do appts. on weekends.. so i explained that this was not what i was told the day before.. they clearly asked me to come back at 10am the following morning for a walk in.. they still refused to give the flu shot even out of courtesy for having me come back a second day.. they said it was unfair to other customers.. but i was the only customer there.. i then complained to the corporate office.. they were very apologetic and i was then instructed to go to another cvs where the flu shot was promptly administered.. bad management and bad customer service at CVS at gloucester crossing.. read more

This review is for the pharmacy staff working under the pharmacist. My family and I have been coming to this CVS on Thatcher Road, Gloucester, MA for the past 10 years. Although I've never had an issue with the pharmacists themselves, their staff on the other hand leave a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service. I understand it may be a lousy job, having to deal with sick grumpy people all day; however, if you can not handle the demands of customer service than you should not be working with people. They have no patience, no manners, rude and very unprofessional. A woman today (who's is a newer employee), got all annoyed because I asked which medicines cost what? She rudely removed the medications from the bag and slammed them down hard on the table, speaking in a short snippy tone, then threw them back into the bag. I've had similar experiences with different people there so this tells me that CVS don't really have a proper customer service training program in place or they have low expectation - perhaps just taking people's word from their resume. There are other CVSs in town, as well as a RITE AID and a WALLGREENS, I may give those a try. read more
