I was recently denied the ability to fill my prescribed medications due to my insurance not being accepted. While I understand that insurance limitations may impact billing, I explicitly offered to pay out of pocket for my prescriptions. Despite this, the pharmacist declined to dispense the medications. This is deeply concerning for several reasons: * These medications are medically necessary and prescribed by my provider. * I was willing to assume full financial responsibility. * This location is the only pharmacy in my community that reliably stocks these medications. Refusing to dispense a valid prescription--even when a patient is willing to pay out of pocket--creates a significant barrier to care and raises concerns about patient safety, access, and continuity of care. Access to prescribed medication should not be restricted in this manner. read more

Would give ZERO start if I could. The staff here refused to correct a mistake they had made in filling a prescription - or failing to fill that prescription. They hung up on our doctor's office as they tried to correct. They lied to us about the prescription being ready the next day at 11 "we just say that if a prescription is on hold," we were told. They blamed our doctor and our insurer for their mistake and put us through two days and hours of effort to correc their mistake. Only after we got CVS corporate involved, which can actually get a real person to answer the phone as opposed to only VM's that customers are offered and have a low percentage of calls returned, did the rude, stubborn staff do what all of us had been asking. The most frustrating service and poor treatment. Will do everything possible to avoid and always go to Notre Dame Pharmacy. Our doctor's office is also advising against having prescriptions filled here because of numerous bad experiences. read more

I've never been to this location as I prefer Walton Blvd but no longer am in the area so I tried this one Upon walking in the CSR Liz was walking in my direction, I spoke- said GOOD MORNING and she smiled 1.5 seconds later there is a white mans path I crossed. She was very verbal when saying good morning to him. I was floored. Idk if this is normal here or not but it's definitely not okay. For newbies like me, there is both a front and rear entrance. I haven't learned about the parking fully. I'm not sure what days and hours have to be paid but there is paid parking (ikr). Pharmacy is badly managed as prescriptions are not timely filled and customers are not contacted when scripts are ready. This place is absolutely awful. They lose prescriptions and when they actually receive the prescription it is never ready on time. Even when they call and say the prescription is ready you still have to wait an extremely long time to pick it up and still may have to clear up insurance issues that they don't mention until you get there. My wife takes tamoxifen prescribed by her oncologist. She has it on an auto renewal and it is supposed to be delivered every month. This month it never showed up and when she called the pharmacist he was extremely rude and told her they had run out of tamoxifen. This is an anti-cancer drug and she can't afford to miss a dose. I arrived at the minute clinic at 5:00. The clinic was empty. I was told to sign in at the computer. The computer said there were too many people waiting and I could not sign in. The pharmacist said that the computer did not sign in anyone past 5 since they are closed at 5:30. Selection is good, but service is awful. Location is great, and hours are good. Store is very clean and well-organized. Many of the employees seem to be walking around in a soporific haze, and are lacking in alertness. One outstanding feature of this store is that it has a liquor store section of the main store, with it's own clerks, etc. And it's open the same hours as the CVS, so that means until 10 PM at night most nights. That's a plus. I've never used the pharmacy services here, so I can't include that in my review. read more

This store is fully-functional in every area except for the pharmacy. The pharmacy has HORRIBLE customer service and leaves me feeling frustrated every visit. You can rarely reach the pharmacy on the phone because most of the time they put you on hold for 10+ minutes. There's one specific pharmacy tech that is extremely rude and dismissive towards every customer that I've seen her interact with. She has gotten away with this behavior for many years and I'm shocked that she hasn't been fired for her disrespectful attitude. Terrible f*cking service. Never had a problem with CVS in the matter of picking up a prescription, but this location damages CVS good reputation. My doctor had electronically sent in my script on wednesday (11/7) at 2:00 pm. 30 minutes later, I go to the CVS and arrive at 3:00 pm to confirm that they have received the electronic drop off, and I inquired on a pick up for sometime that day, or whenever it'd be ready. The lady on the computer was too incompetent to locate the electronic script my doctor had sent them, and tried to tell me that my doctor did not send it in to this location. I insisted that he did indeed send it to this exact location, so I called for another employee to assist the idiot that is sadly authorized to handle of the drop-off department of the pharmacy. Moments after a short discrepancy, they located my prescription and told me it will be an hour before it will be ready to pick up. I said "perfect, I will grab a bite to eat and be back in said time", then left. After giving them an hour and 30 minutes to prepare my prescription, I come back for them to only tell me that they DON'T have my medicine and another order will come in on monday (11/12). I gave a snark look of disdain at the drop-off clerk, and emphasized that they must give the number on file a call when it is ready... WHY would one waste another's time without any taking any type of consideration towards their schedule? Highly unprofessional and apathetic. Yesterday (11/10), I called back and asked for an update on my medication. A man answered, and told me that he can fill separate orders of 26 and 4 (30 units in my script). I never heard of that nonsense in my life! It alarmed a big red flag and sounded very odd! I ask him if the orders would be different/xor generic and he said yes. This uneducated f*cker tried to fleece and give me two entirely different brands of a generic version of my medication! After I caught on and told him I never picked up generic medicine, and I don't plan on picking up any in the future. He told me that "you will just have to wait then" and hung up on my face! Enough is enough. F*ck writing reviews on YELP. We can get these incompetent, arrogant f*ckers fired for the sake of our medicated needs! My wife recently had surgery and she had three prescriptions waiting for her at CVS. Based on the many negative experiences I had at this pharmacy prior to transferring my prescriptions to Rite Aid ; I dreaded the thought of visiting this location again. As usual the pickup line was long and slow due to the lack of cashiers. I paid the cashier and left. When I returned home my wife looked at the receipt and based on previous prescriptions I was overcharged by more that $100. She called the pharmacy and was told that Medicare was offline when the prescriptions were filled and I could return to the store for a refund. This just doesn't make sense. Why didn't they wait to fill the prescriptions until Medicare was back on line? Why didn't they inform me when I picked up the prescriptions that Medicare was back on line and offer to process the refund? Why couldn't the refund be processed without me going back to the store and waiting in line? I guess the answer is "incompetence". I wonder how many unsuspecting Medicare customers were overcharged. Disagree..... This only get one star because it has to. The store is ok but it's just another drug store. If you need it they probably have it. The pharmacy is another thing. They always....and I mean ALWAYS got my prescription wrong. How did they do this for years you ask? My prescription is always for the name brand not the generic. The generic makes me feel worse. Anyway, this CVS and the CVS in Berkley always ignored the .....dispense as written..... instruction on the prescription and always gave me the generic because their computer always puts everything to generic....even on a refill. I guess nobody there is capable actually reading a prescription, making a note on a customers page in the computer, or remembering to get the prescription of a guy who complains every time right the next time. I finally gave up and went down the street to Notre Dame and haven't had a problem since. sure I may stop in to buy cough drops or something but I doubt it because the new Kroger kicks ass. read more

This CVS store is a dump. When one goes to the pharmacy counter, the only thing that is present is piles of dirt, plastic wrappers, and discarded tissue in every corner and under the counter. Even during the coronavirus, not one sanitizing wipe in the place. And no hand sanitizer!!! I've mentioned this several times to various managers and nothing ever gets changed. Argued every year with one of the pharmacy techs who always incorrectly filled my epi-pen prescription which was the last straw not to mention dangerous. OH! This CVS is GIGANTIC and I overload on things I don't need every time i go!! I mean who needs 10 cans of shaving cream? ahahhaa! This CVS is unique because of it's size and location with 2 entrances one on Kerchival and one in the back entering from the parking lot. SWEET!! The service here is always spot on and they ALWAYS have what you need. I have never gone in for something on sale and they are out of stock and you have to get one of those dang rain checks! Forget about it!! OMG the last time i was there on a toothpaste and q-tip run with my BF who also needed shaving cream ahaha! We received a $5 off a purchase of $25 or more coupon on the back of our receipt. SOOOOOO I turned around as i was about to walk out the door and bought myself that Zebra print Snuggie that I wanted the moment I saw it. Yeah yeah i know it's a snuggie but that dang thing is so warm and cozy I would arm wrestle ya for it on a cold night!! So yea I am loyal to this CVS as often as I can, although i do stay on occasion when I am not close to home! On a separate note I was there yesterday and picked up a pack of gum. Of course it generated reams of coupons!!! It's an inconvenience waiting for them to print. Persons working the Pharmacy are great. The Pharmacy's policies are questionable. After eye surgery, it took CVS over ten days to fill my eye drops prescribed. Furthermore. It company's policy to only fill 30 day supply prescriptions, not 90 day. read more

They seem incapable of following up on requests for refills, having rx's ready when they promise them and just being polite in general. Was turned away from the minute clinic even though I was well over a half hour before close and there was no one waiting or in line to be seen. Tried to go again and was told to be there at 2:46 and wasn't seen until about 2 hours later because they weren't back from lunch until well over a half hour past what they were supposed to just to get turned away for my insurance even though I was there 2 weeks prior and my brother there just days prior. Highly recommend that you DONT go here you're going to have a way longer wait time than it says and absolute shitty service. read more

Luckily after waiting forever I checked my pills and instead of my full amount I had about a three day amount, not a month, in the bottle. They did correct it but not even a sorry. The ONLY GOOD thing about this store is how big it is & the variety of things they carry. Other than that the staff are rude (with an exception of one or two) & the pharmacy staffs is lacking as well. U can wait in line forever & help never seems to arrive in time. I went earlier to grab ONE bottle of Monster Energy drink & patiently waited behind a customer's transaction wouldn't go through do to errors of her coupons & the cashier skipped over me & rung the guy up behind me. When I told her I was next in line she said another register will open up to help me. Luckily one JUST opened up but she was not apologetic or even tried to help me first. I work in the village for five years now & am a loyal customer to this CVS & but the service seems to be getting worst every year.
