The first time we sat outside in their newly renovated outdoor patio, which was so nice and beautiful. Our server greeted us with some sweetened espresso and cinnamon, which was a nice treat. The empanadas here are insane and you must get this. This was probably the best empanada I've had at a restaurant. The second time we returned, we dined inside. The service was a bit slower this time and it took longer for us to get our food. We ordered some of their specialty coffees, which came in these cute mugs and glasses. This time we tried their Arepas de plantano that came with cheese and a mole sauce. This was also very good, especially with the sauce. We ordered the giant huevos rancheros platter to share and it truly did take up almost the entire table lol. They put all the toppings in separate dishes so you could build your own essentially. This was a lot of food and we had plenty leftover. This could've fed 4-5 people! The only disappointing thing about this was that we didn't get any steak as shown on the menu and just chicken. When we mentioned it the server who was very nice but didn't speak much English said she told us but I was completely unaware. Everything still tasted good but we did wish there was some steak along with the chicken. The French toast dish was decadent and sweet, but the bread itself was moist and crispy on the edges. There was a small discrepancy at the end with our bill because the price of the platter didn't match what was on the receipt. They were unable to adjust it but gave us a gift card for the balance. Overall we still had a good time and would definitely come back. It was much more of a unique brunch experience that I've had in Charleston so far.

The restaurant was packed, and we waited about 20 minutes just to be seated. Once we sat down, we ordered right away, expecting the kitchen to already be busy. However, we ended up waiting an entire hour for our food. About halfway through, we asked our server how much longer it would be, and the response was simply that there was "no telling" because they were very busy. While we understand restaurants can get busy, waiting an hour after ordering with no meaningful update is unacceptable. By the time our food finally arrived, we no longer had time to enjoy it. We had somewhere else to be and had to rush through our meal. Because of the long wait and frustration, I honestly can't say whether the food was amazing or not, it was overshadowed by the experience. The service itself was okay, and the atmosphere was okay, but neither made up for the excessive wait. We also overheard the table next to us, a party of two, talking about how they had already been waiting 40 minutes for their food, so it was clear we weren't the only customers frustrated by the delays. For a first visit, this was a very poor impression. We understand that busy restaurants can have longer wait times, but better communication and more realistic expectations would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience was enough that it will most likely be our first and last visit.

Not having to worry about finding a parking spot is a game changer for me. The dessert bar is a dark purple, making the room feel comfortable and intimate while providing the perfect background for your Instagrammable drinks and plates. I started off with the Shirley Temple ($12 - NA). If there is cotton candy on the menu, I will order it - so this was an easy choice! My drink was served in a funky pink glass with a crisp wafer keeping the cotton candy from dissolving. The dessert menu offers a dozen or so options, including a Chef's Choice option of three desserts (well worth $42). I plan to return for their special Sunday tasting menu, so I chose two desserts of my own. The Sigh of Lima ($18) has a carrot cake base with butterscotch caramel and caramelized white chocolate and a floral finish. It was almost too beautiful to eat! I also ordered the Lemon Meringue Baked Alaska ($21); this one includes setting the dessert on fire and sprinkling sugar for a sparkler effect -- you should absolutely order it just for the theatrics! It has a kumquat sorbet with lemon curd, graham cracker, lavender, and of course the burnt meringue on top. My date for the night also ordered the Chocolate Teddi, which is maybe the cutest dessert I've ever seen and one which I wanted to bring home to cuddle with rather than eat. Make sure to make reservations in advance as the spot only holds 14-16 people! If you're having dinner at Cane Pazzo or Johnny's Garage, head to Roxa for a dessert nightcap. It's not to be missed.

The soft lighting against the deep purple walls and gold fixtures were such a nice design choice. If you're like me and like to take pics of your food, you'll be happy to see touch activated lights that give you the perfect lighting to capture your desserts. It is a cozy space, so I would bring a few friends and not a large party. As we were seated at the chef's counter we got to see the chef preparing many of our dishes right there and it was fascinating to see how much attention goes into every dish. We shared a small tasting menu which consisted of a pre-dessert panna cotta and 3 smaller scaled dishes that were on the menu. Each and every dish was perfect. Individually, I ordered a chocolate cherry souffle and my husband ordered the baked Alaska. Our cocktails (I ordered a Shirley temple with cava and my husband ordered a mojito) paired perfectly with everything. We left with full bellies and plenty of gorgeous pics and videos of our experience. We can't wait to come back.
