As my car is not feeling the greatest I needed a location that was closest to the Queens Island Urgent Care in Kaka'ako to pick up a prescription and since this was right down the street I keep the stress level down for myself as well. Located prominently on Ward Ave parking entrance is on Halekauwila Street which is free and with lots of covered stalls available that has an elevator that will take you down and directly into the store. With this being the newly opened location it's very nice and clean and not as crazy crowded like the malls is nice and with basically no lines it was an easy pick up and the staff is very nice and friendly as I arrived basically right after my check up knowing it wouldn't be ready that fast was actually being worked on which is so nice as having them will give me great comfort and that's I'm so grateful. They have a photo department that does passport photos also. I came by and picked up a Pokemon card and Haagen-Dazs ice cream for someone.

The long pole attached to the shopping wagon prevented me from properly exiting and rolling the wagon to my car. My only options were to make multiple trips and risk leaving my groceries unattended where they could easily be stolen. I would leave one star, but my experience with the photo department was actually great. Because of that, I'm giving a higher rating. The store really needs to rethink the wagon/cart design or provide a better solution for customers buying heavier items.

This N School Street is quite big with lots of parking and is very accessible even at a busy intersection and is very nice, clean and organized. Parking lot can be crowded depending on time of day but I've never been able to not find a stall. The pharmacy staff are always surprisingly pleasant, regardless of how busy it is or what time of day. I never have to wait very long (if at all) for my prescription pick ups or vaccinations. If a specific medication can't be filled at their location, they give me recommendations for other pharmacies to try to contact that likely are able to fill it, which I really appreciate. It's a refreshing experience, as I've had extremely frustrating experiences with other pharmacies being not only sorely understaffed but with poor attitudes too. I just wish that the prescription status updates on the CVS app were more accurate. This store alone can't fix that issue but it is quite difficult to get in contact with the pharmacy over the phone if I need to clarify what the hold up with my prescription refills is/what information is missing. There is an option to request a call back from the pharmacy but that has been hit or miss.

I have never needed to return anything to Longs before. It was easy. First, they scanned my digital receipt and then the two items, asked me nothing. They let me know I had paid with a debit card, therefore the amount would automatically be placed onto that exact card. Simple. I then proceeded with my purchase. The store could use a little sprucing up...but that may be due to how some isles are made into isles by items. The lighting is poor, but only due to it being florescent... everything is always marked and usually in stock. (For Hawaii) I go here often for Lei and snacks. Around the holidays, I like to grab greeting cards. I have also stopped in for candies and white elephant gifts. Stocking stuffers and things when I need to buy multiple gifts and gift bags. But the main reason was a previous bad experience that left a bitter taste in my mouth. Earlier in the day I went to the doctor's office for some relief to a cold that I've been battling for about 10 days now. OTC remedies were not doing the trick and I was miserable staying at home not wanting to pass my germs to my colleagues. When asked where I wanted to pick up my medications, I usually go to the one in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center as I'm in Kaneohe a lot for my part time job. But because I wanted to take the medication immediately and for convenience I selected this store next to Pali Hwy. After my doctor's appointment I made a few errands and just after picking up some lunch I received a text advising my two prescriptions were ready for pick up. I originally had planned on going before my 340pm dentist's appointment that's in the See Dai Doo Building. Howeve, I was desperate for relief so I drove here. To my delight the parking lot was not that congested at 1130am. I immediately found an empty parking stall near the entrance. I made a beeline to their pharmacy where there were about 5 people queuing. All 5 were senior citizens and regardless they all had questions to ask the pharmacy staff, the line moved quickly. When it came to my turn my transaction was quick. Replied to the staff's question by providing my DOB and name, she confirmed my 2 prescriptions. I paid for them and then returned to my car. So why only 4-stars? I'm sure you have noticed the undesirable foot traffic of homeless and the mentally unstable in this area. I have witnessed them many times in the past and today was no different. There was a female who was laying down on the pavement and yelling out loud. So sad to witness such incidents in broad daylight. Overall, this Longs Drugs is clean, bright and well organized with its products and displays. I also appreciate the coupons you receive as there are considerable savings that encourages you for repeat visits within the time frame. I hope the management or landlord of this area can clean up the area so that consumers feel safe to shop at either Long's Drugs or Safeway.
