My experience at Walgreens in Kalihi was frustrating. How is a customer supposed to transport heavy purchases safely? The long pole attached to the shopping wagon prevented me from properly exiting and rolling the wagon to my car. My only options were to make multiple trips and risk leaving my groceries unattended where they could easily be stolen. I would leave one star, but my experience with the photo department was actually great. Because of that, I'm giving a higher rating. The store really needs to rethink the wagon/cart design or provide a better solution for customers buying heavier items. read more

I do have to admit that it's been quite awhile since I've shopped at any Walgreens since I know that they have so much selection my visits are usually specific as I'm search for items that exhausted any other shops/stores that I could think of. With that searching online using their app does make the search so much easier and rules out if they have the item or not at any of their locations throughout the island and my search was so simple but didn't think it would be an issue which turns out to be exactly that as I was just looking for paper cups...not plastic or foam regular paper cups and they not only had them it was on clearance...woohoo! Though search was a bit difficult to find as they do have so much other items that made me forget what initially what I was here for lol! This N School Street is quite big with lots of parking and is very accessible even at a busy intersection and is very nice, clean and organized. Love the convenience to find items online so that you don't waste gas and time for the search as I found what I was looking for. Thank you! read more

This store is conveniently located with a drive thru for picking up RXs. I have several recurring ones so I go there 1-2 times/mo. The parking lot is always filthy. Some employees are friendly and some don't seem to care I have frequent delays and mistakes in my order. They are also frequently out of stock The most recent experience was an order they had insufficient on hand to fill completely so it was delayed and delayed. This for me is life saving medication and I can't afford to wait. Eventually by me asking a lot of question and through no problem solving offered on their side, I was able to get a 30 day supply to hold me over. Next thing I know, I now have to wait the full 30 days to get the rest of my 90 days or pay non insured rates. Then I wait, pay retail for 2 weeks worth, and ask for my full 90 days and see that my refill is permanently a 30 day cycle and all refills (there were 3 more) are completely expired. This is just one of many similar poor experiences. The only reason I stay is that it's right by my home and has a drive thru. Im now trying some online stores and their service and convenience is 100% better than this local Walgreens. That is sad. read more

Lady Cashier must have been on drugs! While my daughter and I were waiting for the next available cashier, we accidentally dropped something causing the container to spill open. A male cashier called us over and offered to throw it away. I told my daughter to go get a new one. As I was waiting talking stories with the male cashier, I turned around and the woman cashier asked me to go to her side. I said no thank you and she said to me "tell that to my face" ??? I just got off the phone with Tyler in the pharmacy and it's great that he was so helpful in helping me find meds for my husband who had a procedure done today. His Dr. called and told me to be sure he does not miss a dose of his meds especially tonight. Today is Friday and when I checked the app it stated that it's out of stock. I called the store and Tyler found a pharmacy that had some in stock so we have enough for a few days and I can get the rest next week. Thank you Tyler, I hope your managers see this. read more

I don't come this Walgreen as it's out of the way for me. This is the one across the street from the Kamehameha Shopping Center. You can find some good deals at Walgreens, especially if you're in their frequent shopper club and they print out those coupons for you at the register. I've been here maybe three or four times. When I need to locate an item the workers are always willing to help. This store is clean and pretty well stocked compared to the one on Beretania and Pensacola. This time when I was in the store they had a whole shelf of Squishmallow stuffed animals. I thought I died and went to heaven. I wanted to get every one of them. The hubby stopped me and said that I didn't need anymore. He's trying to get rid of the ones that I have at home, lol. read more

I do a number of pick up orders here a month and usually have no problems. But if you try to call to call here, just be aware that you will be on the phone for what feels like forever. I placed a photo order that told me it was going to be ready within an hour. I called five hours after the quoted pick up time just to get an update on my order and nobody would answer the phone to talk to me for 40+ minutes. I had one guy answer within the first 10 minutes twice, but he had to keep forwarding me to the photo department and then it never routed back to anyone else and therefore I was on the phone for 40 minutes. I asked for an update on my order and told me they couldn't give me an update. They said they have no idea when my order would be ready and that I would just get an email. I can't even call later to get an update because nobody answers the phone. And I couldn't even get an idea of an estimated time of when My order would be done to see if I should send it to a different location. read more

The main purpose for this visit to Walgreens was to get my Moderna Booster shot. Once the most recent vaccine was approved for the public and my health insurance covered costs, I immediately made an appointment online. Initially, I had an appointment set last week Thursday at Waipahu Walgreens. That Thursday morning, the pharmacy called me notifying that they were out of stock and could only take me in for a flu shot. Rather, I went back online for the next available at the nearest pharmacy to home that would include both covid and flu shots. I found another time slot at Walgreens Kapalama for the upcoming Wednesday at the end of the afternoon. Went in early to the pharmacy and checked in. Waited a few minutes until the pharmacist gave me paperwork. The RN was very friendly and professional. No need to take any vitals, it was just a brief questionnaire and a shot in each arm. Once complete, I waited 15 minutes before leaving. There are other pharmacies conducting vaccinations, best to make your appointment ASAP as they are limited in stock while it's the beginning of flu season. Whether you're a senior citizen, young adult, person with critical illness or not, get your vaccine. read more

I placed an online order for delivery to my home. Order was filled, then ten minutes later it says "you've successfully canceled your order" which I did not do. They even had the delivery driver arrive at the store, then after him being there for 20 minutes - Door Dash messages me saying my order was cancelled. During all that time I've tried to call multiple times. It just keeps ringing then someone answers and immediately hangs up (that happened about 3x). I always shop here, but have never done an online delivery order before. I know they are pretty good with answering their phones so whoever is working today is just horrible. read more

I have insurance and this pharmacy is so lazy they use the medications/vitamins that IS NOT COVERED by my insurance and keep making me PAY FOR IT. When I call my insurance, they have to call this Walgreens and tell them to use whatever is qualified and then I HAVE TO GO BACK to pick up the one that is covered. They are lazy. We occasionally go to this location to pick up random items. We Also check out the sales items here. I picked up a Maybelline face powder. I'm excited to try it out. We found miscellaneous and random items. I like shopping here but this area seems like there are random people hanging around at night. Just doesn't feel safe for me if I come here at night. We came here during the day which seems okay. Parking is around the building. They seemed really busy right before Christmas. I only come here if I am in the neighborhood or if we are close by. They have what you need. There's also a pharmacy here but I don't go to this pharmacy. Just an okay location. read more

First I want to say this WALGREENS has choke(Plenty) parking for all Walgreens customers so you don't have have too worry about parking at all when coming to this Walgreens on N.School Street in Kalihi. This Walgreens is located next to Kamehameha Shopping Center along Pizza Hut Resturant & McDonald's. This Walgreens has a drive thru pharmacy also they have a photo center as well and also very friendly staff at their front checkouts and their pharmacy window. One thing I wish this Walgreens had was a bigger selection of MAGAZINES for us customers who love magazines and looking certain magazine articles etc. Also another thing is that this Walgreens during the late night hours at times there could be like suspicious people hanging out in the parking lot areas since this parking lot is so big, Walgreens should have some sort of security or police going around the store parking lot to make things safe for all Walgreens customers. read more

I went through the drive thru for my prescription I love it so easy to do just give them your ID and credit card in case you need to pay for your co-pay. There's only one line to the left which I think is a lot better too. Fast easy n efficient once it's your turn its worth the wait in line in your car vs going in and walking since I have two very bad knees. Don't get me wrong when I need other medicines I walk in and purchase them too like cold medicines or food items too. I love they have a lot of handi-cap parking too. It's less crowded than some of the other stores too which is very nice to shop. read more

I came into the store today to pick up an online order at the photo department. I ordered graduation thank you cards last night, which I was really looking forward to picking up. The online process was very simple and easy. I found which card I wanted, uploaded my photo, and personalized the text. When I ordered it, it was ready in a few hours. I noticed the email said I could do curbside or drive-thru pick-up. Since I didn't pay for it yet, I figured it would be faster to just walk inside. Boy was I wrong! I waited in line with a couple of other customers in front of me. The employee seemed to be working on the first guy's order. Apparently, something was wrong with the printer and I could hear him grumbling. I get that this was going to take a while because he was the only employee in the photo department, yet he didn't acknowledge the line that was beginning to form. After 20 minutes, another employee came to the department. I thought we finally had someone who could help us. Again, I was wrong. She and the male employee started grumbling about another employee. Then she told us that he would be right with us and walked away. I thought it was very rude and unprofessional that they would complain loudly about another employee, even saying that he was going to lose his job. Actually, come to find out, the female customer in front of me was actually that employee's little sister. She was definitely not happy that they were talking badly about him. After over 30 minutes, it was finally my turn. I told him my name and he began looking for my order. At this point, I was worried that I waited in line for nothing. Thankfully, he found my order after a good 5 minutes. I didn't have time to look at the photos right away since there were people still waiting behind me. When I got to my car, I realized that the photo wasn't as high quality as I thought it would be. Oh well, I'm just happy to be out of the store! There was also a crazy long line at the main register. I usually enjoy getting my photos from Walgreens, so maybe it was just this location that was unsatisfying. read more

Customer service today was sub par. I was going to purchase 8 bags of Russel Stover sugar free candies. Four of the mint and four of the pecan. There was a sign below the packages of the mint 2 for five dollars. So when I was checking out my purchased totals didn't match. I asked the cashier how much did she charge me for the candies. She said two eighty nine each. I told her about the sign so she called to get a price check ( see my pic). The floor person said the sign was in the wrong place. I asked if I could get it at the the two for five dollars being that it was their mistake. She said no. I've been too Times and Foodland that acknowledge there mistake gave me the product at the price shown. She did a refund on my credit card, after getting in my car I rechecked the receipt. I saw that she missed crediting me for one package of the candies. Went back in to resolve the error. Note they have the worst credit card scanner. This is the only place I've been too the you put the credit card in with chip face down. Also the font of the card reader is very small. read more

My advice- shop online and do in-store pick-up because prices vary WIDELY! I bought a bottle of Lumify eye drops after checking their stock on hand online, and the online price was $19.99 with a $4 coupon ($15.99 total). In store price was $27.99 with a $4 coupon ($23.99 total). Pretty shocking difference at $8! I wouldn't have noticed if I simply went into the store and bought it. The worker was cool and told me if I put my order thru and paid online he'd just process it since I was there. This location does not sell alcohol. I repeat, no liquor or alcohol here. Weird, huh? The other reason for the 2 stars is this place's coffee machine has been "out of order" since I moved to the neighborhood... in 2013 (it's now 2021!) I don't know why I stayed with the pharmacy for years. Worst service ever. I needed to pick up a prescription that needed to be taken right away. When I called if it's ready they told me they don't have it. It would have been nice to be called that they did not have the medication. And then they tell me to call different pharmacies to figure which pharmacy stocks the medication! So because it was important to take it that night, I did call other pharmacies and found one that had it. Called them back to forward the prescription. When I called the pharmacy to pick it up, they told me nobody forwarded the medication and it was getting late and the pharmacy was already closing. I literally missed an important dose. Bought Mom here today to take her Moderna booster vaccination. I was skeptical because Moderna is not approved by the FDA yet. Just Pfizer was approved by the FDA, but Mom got the Moderna vaccination and would be better to get the Moderna shot instead of the Pfizer one. I usually use canva to make the posters then printing photos or prints is super easy. Their online portal is a little finicky, but manageable. I've gotten everything printed here from holiday cards to senior posters for graduation (which is more important than holiday cards IMO) don't ask my wife. I'd recommend. read more

Came here for a COVID test with my fiancé. Scheduled online pretty easily and showed up the next day, 10 minutes before our first appointment (our tests were 15 minutes apart). The email instructions said to go to the "northeast corner" of the lot. After figuring out where that was, we parked. There were no signs telling us where we needed to be. Nothing. So we just sat there waiting, unsure if we were in the right area. Our test times came and went and no one came out to us. No one even called us. The email CLEARLY stated to stay inside the car and wait for someone to come out. We called the store and someone told us that we were supposed to go to the pharmacy. We told them the email said to stay in the car but the person said again to go inside. Angrily, we go in to wait in line at the pharmacy, only for a worker to tell us we were supposed to stay in the car and not go inside. We told them about the phone call and they blamed it on the front of store workers. Ridiculous that the workers aren't all on the same page with something that is this important. We were then told that we needed to go through the drive through. Very irritated now, we go back outside, drive around the lot to the back where the drive thru is and FINALLY saw a sign indicating that was where the tests are being done. This sign was around back of the store, NOT in the front, NOT near the entrance, and this was NOT what the email said to do. Just wanted to come here in case anyone else gets confused by their lack of proper instructions. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting another test here because of all this. read more

Came here yesterday for some medicine because my daughter was getting sick. Lots of parking outside of Walgreens. Because it was after school, there was a bunch of middle school or high school children. I went straight to the medicine area for children.. i must say there is a lot of different variety for medication for both adults and children. I got the children's dimetapp, kind of bummed there wasn't the original flavor (grape). She had to get the berry flavor. They also have a variety of cough drops available as well. Another thing i was bummed about was the Valentine's Day candy not being on sale at all the day after Valentine's Day. I was hoping the candy would be on sale, i guess not. I had to take my mother to get her COVID-19 booster and since Walgreens' Pharmacy was one of the only locations in town that provided the Moderna option, I scheduled an appointment for her at this Walgreens location. I have not visited this Walgreens in years but I appreciate that it is easy to get to and has ample parking with wide parking spaces (meaning if there's a jackhole who doesn't know how to park, that's on them). We were able to get a stall right up front and then headed towards the back of the store on the left where the pharmacy is located. One of the reasons why I chose this Walgreens was because the experience my husband and I had getting the COVID-19 booster at the Kailua Walgreens was not the greatest, so I figured that this location may be better. But it took about 10-15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us due to a shortage in staff (there were only two staff members from what we could see not including the pharmacist) and once they did, they had us wait in the little lobby they have set-up on the side (further left from the actual pharmacy, and there's actually two separate little lobby areas). We waited for another 30 minutes where the staff member who checked us in would periodically pop in to ask for information or for us to fill out a form. The Kailua Walgreens also did the same and for me, I still don't understand why they don't ask for the person's information all at once rather than multiple times prior to the actual appointment. The pharmacist finally called for my mom at 12:00pm, even though we were scheduled for 11:30am, and then we had to wait for another 30 minutes to make sure she was okay before we could leave due to her allergies. So we spent the next 30 minutes looking at all the snacks (well, I looked at all the snacks...and bought far too many gummy candies that my mom had to scold me while in the checkout line lol). Overall, I like the convenience of this Walgreens location and was quite surprised at the variety of items they had (this location is like a mansion compared to the Kailua Walgreens) but I think the pharmacy section needs more work and it seems like it is not just this location. I would have been more understanding if we were walk-ins looking for an appointment or there was an emergency but why have people make an appointment at all if they won't be seen at the scheduled time anyway? The only saving grace of this location was the gummy candies (two of which I have already devoured) and the sweet cashier at check-out who noticed my mom and I bickering over who would pay for the snacks and/or lunch and helped me distract my mom long enough so that I could pay. read more

They call me to give me specific instructions, assist with my requests for program considerations and overall, just awesome service. Awwww I had my prescription called in to Walgreens by Kam Shopping Center because my Nuuanu one closed and they have the drive up window. Now I am told the window tray doesn't work so I would have to go inside. I just love Walgreens but I don't feel safe getting out of my car and entering or exiting this store due to all the vagrants that hang around outside. I had no idea we even had a Walgreens in Hawaii until last week. We needed a canned food to donate to the YMCA Kid's Fest at the Bishop Museum, so we stopped here. Hate to sound cheap, but everything was a bit pricey, but I guess they need to charge for staying open 24-hours. This particular Walgreens is not in a good part of town - I know I wouldn't venture into this store after hours. What where they thinking! I was going to buy Spam Musubi for my son but it looked pretty bloated and greasy and discolored under the warming lights - uh...we'll pass. read more

Walgreens Photo Dept at the North School St location has disappointed me twice. The first time I ordered photos online recently, the photos weren't ready even though I received the email stating that they were ready. On top of that, they had no photo associates available and the woman that helped me made it obvious that she was annoyed to have to help me. I had to come back later and they finally had it ready. I don't know if it really wasn't ready earlier or the woman who helped me earlier on the day just could not find it at the time. I recently ordered photos online again and just got an email saying my order was cancelled due to technical difficulties. Oh my gosh. What if I needed those photos ?? If I could rate this store "0" stars, I would. I've been going to this store for the last year now and had no real issues until a couple of weeks ago. The older Hawaiian lady who usually works the overnight shift must've been having a bad or something. As embarrassed as I was upon checkout my card had gotten declined simply because I forgot to turn it on to be able to accept transactions. Long story short, rather than being patient and understanding with me she got really upset with me and she copped an attitude towards me and started viciously hitting the register monitor which in turn got me upset so I told her I'm SORRY! She definitely needs customer service training because i've seen her lash out to other customers in the past but this was my first run in with her. She scoffed at me, did not bag my things then shoved my receipt to me and loudly said "eh, don't blame your problems on me!" I was LIVID! I asked to see her manager and she told me "NO!" BiT@H! I wasn't blaming my problems on anyone. I was APPALLED by her ignorance, her lack of empathy and bottom line her LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS; especially for someone at her age. I usually don't let things or people like that bother me but she was something else that night . I ended up walked out of the store, fuming like I just walked out from hell. When I got home I called the store and asked to speak to the MOD and she hung up on me; so I called back, 3 times and 3 times she hung up on me. I had to ask myself; my god how much more childish could she be? She definitely must've had a bad day or woke up on the wrong side of bed; whatever her reason she didn't have to take it out on me. I will never go back to that store because I know I will say something nasty but I won't allow myself to stoop to her level.
