THE WORST PHARMACY I'VE EVER BEEN TO. Employees are so lazy and painfully slow, it takes them 20+ minutes to answer my phone calls (if they answer at all) and when I go in to pick up a prescription they'll ignore for a solid 5 minutes before speaking to me. I'm going somewhere else and you should too. Not to mention that it takes them several days to fill a simple prescription. Other places can fill it in 20 minutes. read more

Waited over an hour in the drive through for the PCR covid test and was poorly attended. Wanted to switch to a rapid antigen test (because my travel was in less than 48 hours) but they would not let me. They are severely understaffed, better to go to another one and save your time! read more

This is the worst of all the drugstores out there, including other CVS locations. The lines are always long, regardless of the time of day or the number of employees. You WILL wait in line. You WILL get approached in the parking lot asking for money. You will not be able to find everything you need, as it seems they are always out of stock in certain items. It just has an overall icky feel. I will sometimes go there at around 7:00 a.m. on my way to work to get a few necessities, and even at that hour, you can't find anyone to ring you up, and it just feels dirty. read more

I absolutely despise this location, but it happens to be the most convenient drugstore to downtown Houston, unless you're willing to navigate the tunnels. I typically prefer the Walgreens brand, but the closest location (just a couple of blocks away) has limited hours whereas this CVS is open 24-7. To echo other folks, there is always at least one homeless person standing a few feet from the door, begging for money on your way in and upon your exit. I've noted this to the cashiers a couple of times and they don't do much to help the situation, other than to ask them to move a few feet back. I come to this CVS pretty often. It's convenient for me as it's within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I've always had a decent experience shopping here. Sometimes they are out of stock on things, but that's normal. Sometimes you will wait in line, but that's pretty normal at drugstores. This CVS does not have a self-checkout section, but that's no big deal. The parking lot does double as a pay lot after hours. Overall, I can't complain. I like coming here. Solid 4 stars. read more

This location is convenient, has a lot of parking and for me personally, the wait at the pharmacy has been better than a lot of other CVS pharmacies that I have been to. I've found the pharmacy staff to be friendly and helpful the times I've been there. It's pretty clean and well-organized. The reason I'm even bothering to review this place is the frequency of times I am approached by homeless people in the parking lot. I'm a relatively small female, so I get understandably uncomfortable when someone enters my personal space but even my husband has had issues at this CVS. Once he was waiting for me in the car with our dog and a loiterer came up and kept talking nonsense to him and knocking on the windows. This is just not something you want to deal with then you're sick and picking up a prescription. read more

You want terrible service, then work with this location. My insurance required me to switch my prescription to CVS and it's the absolute worst thing ever. I call this location requesting to transfer my prescription, the pharmacy asked me if I needed the prescription that evening and I told him I could pick up in the morning, he tells me to call back because they close in an hour and he's pretty sure he can't transfer it in an hour. When I explained my work situation, I was placed on hold for over 20 mins. I called the front of the store and requested a manager. The manager was even worse. He asked me to call him back to give him my information because he was not by a paper. As I repeated this statement back to him, he must've processed the craziness of the statement and magically located a paper. When I asked him what he was going to do, he said I'll give the pharmacy your information. When I asked if they would call me back that evening, he said I don't know because I don't know what they have to do. The lack of service, the lack of car, and the lack of concern of someone's health is purely baffling. Not once did he ask what prescription I was filling, nor did he care. If there was an option to give no stars I would. This store is terrible and I encourage you to not even waste your time. Avoid the frustration. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I'm not sure what the pharmacist name is but he is horrible. I needed seizure meds (which is vital to my well being) and received a text it was ready. When we got there he told us they were out of stock and even if they had it "it's $237 can you afford that?" They hadn't even ran it through my insurance, even though I provide the info every time we drop off or refill a prescription. I asked to speak to the pharmacy manager, Chris who was not available and did not return my call. I'm going to take it to the corporate office simply because this should not happen to anyone!? read more

The people that work here are great. I can't say as much for their average customer. I live within a block of this location and I know much of the staff by name or by face. The managers are a different story. They are usually outside smoking, or locked in the office doing next to nothing. If you pay in cash, move to the side when depositing your change in the wallet. If you have a return, bring your receipt. If you want a passport photo, step to the side and wait. Short version; staff is great, lines can be long, management is terrible, average customers are worse. The prices are high, but it is Midtown. read more

I would give this CVS a 0 if I could, the worst in town. The staff always has an attitude. The first time the checkout lady won't let me to leave my stuff on the side to grab one more thing on the shelf(try to ignore her rolling eyes), second time I asked the pharmacist to help finding something and she simply pointed to the shelf and said "it's on that shelf", and returned to her "work" (as if taking care of my need is not her part of work), another time I needed to walk cross street to pick up something (it's literally across the street, why bother to drive??) and a guy walked up to me asked me to pay $10 for parking. I only needed like 5 minutes no more than 10, and the parking was wide open! The guy told me to talk to the lady inside, I asked the lady inside and she told me to ask the guy outside, really!? If I could give no stars I would. The pharmacy at this location as others have noted is AWFUL. There is NO SUCH THING as (not even) customer service, but even common courtesy. In the drive through, both are marked "full service" and then they proceed to tell you (RUDELY) they don't dispense in that line. So you have to get all jacked around. Then, they walk away, make you wait, while you have driven all over, then get caught behind other cars because you were in the not-so-full-service line. Shout out to rude employees all around that DON'T GIVE A CRAP about getting any of your medications, but especially Sumima (I think I have that pretty close). When calling to tell me yesterday that the medication wasn't in stock, maybe they could have told me it wasn't covered, and saved me a trip? NO- I get a rude, "that'll be 390.00.....". Oh, ok, then when I ask why I wasn't told? "uh...I don't know *shrugs shoulders* I don't know what to tell you". GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Will be forwarding this to the corporate. This is a review for the drive thru pharmacy. Much to my surprise today, I received excellent service from both people who helped me. They were friendly and had my prescription ready in a very short time. One of my prescriptions was very expensive because there was no generic. I asked the pharmacist if she had any ideas on how I could pay less for it. She told me two very helpful things. She told me to call my physician and ask for an alternative medication. Or, she told me to google it and look for a manufacturers coupon for the prescription because usually if there is not a generic, there will be a coupon. Sure enough, there was a coupon and it saved me $100! I wanted to hug that lady. What a good tip! And now all of you know, too. Thanks!! read more

I wish that they would tear this building down and make it more pedestrian friendly/oriented. This is such an inefficient use of urban form. I really hope they remodel this block. WORST CVS COVID TESTING SITE IN HOUSTON by far!!! I've had 3-4 Covid tests at other Houston CVS locations and theyre normally a breeze (in and out in 10 min) but when I came here I didn't get a text from them saying where to go (first bad sign) So I walked inside didn't see a minute clinic, drove around 3 times and didn't see any CLEARY marked testing parking spots. So I got in the drive thru and asked where testing was. They said "Covid testing is in Lane 1" so I got in Lane 1 and waited 40 min in Drive Thru only to be told I needed to park in a designated spot and I said "what spot? I drove around this place 3 times looking for one!" Then I finally came across an All White Non-clearly marked hard to read sign (right next to a confusing "follow Signs for Covid testing" sign) and called but they said "we can't give you a test bc it's no longer within 15 min grace period" and I said, "well I've been waiting in line 45 min! Bc that's where they told me to wait!" she even admitted their sign wasn't good.... GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER CVS -Gray! Buy a new freaking sign that's easier to read!!!! Plus All the other locations take 10 min or less and call/text you b4 hand! Needless to say I didn't get a test bc of their horrible signage and service. Thanks for nothing!! read more

It's a CVS, and this place is fine. I'm glad it's here in Mid-Town. They have a big parking lot. so parking is never a problem.

There is always someone different working here. They do not carry Rockstar Lemonade flavor. And there are often transients asking for money or yelling outside. But it does have most everything you need at a CVS, and the employee working is always very courteous and nice. read more

yep, right when i walked up there was a guy by the entrance smoking a cigarette asking me if i had change. but the only reason i come to cvs or walgreens are for cigarettes. every now and then i get those coupons in the mail. i used one at a different cvs a few days ago, but this one doesnt accept them for some reason. so just a little tip for people that smoke camels. they dont accept coupons. that is all. read more

i'm gonna go ahead n pop my Yelp review cherry right here b/c i feel strongly enough about this place to do so. i stop by this place often enough to know there's always a line at the check out. apparently the pharmacy is the same. i get there and there's 3 people working there, none of them actual pharmacists, but all of them chatting away and trying to look busy. flu shot u say? no problem, just let me put on some gloves, touch everything else in the facility and get to u in 20 minutes. the person that administered the flu vaccination put on the latex gloves, finished up whatever it was he was doing, grabbed the medical waste sharps container in one hand, and grabbed the needle, alcohol prep and an opened band-aid in the other. he came out behind the counter, sat down in the waiting area next to me, took the band-aid (which became stuck to his glove) and told me to "hold on to it". he puts the sharps container on the floor, has the alcohol prep opened already, fumbles around with the prep, wipes my shoulder down and pops the needle top n gives me the shot. at this point, i look at the band-aid in my hand, think for a second, and ask for another one. incredulous, he looks at me and says "oh, you want ANOTHER band-aid?" yes kind sir, i have this insane phobia of AIDs/SARs/MRSA/bubonic plague seeping into an open wound. so he leaves the sharps container open in the middle of the waiting area and goes to get me a nice, unopened band-aid. this ordeal may seem like the over-reacting of a germiphobe, but i'm about to be a doctor of something or other, and i do work in the hospitals, and although this is just an outpatient retail pharmacy, i'm sure there's certain protocols in place that this guy just shat all over. so if ur in the area, thinking about getting stuck with dirty needles off the street, consider this place, they at least give u new band-aids upon request. read more
