I'm specifically talking about this CVS's pharmacy, it is AWFUL!! They constantly don't have basic medications in stock and then when you reach out and tell them you need a certain medication they say "sorry about that we will order it" and then by the day they say they should have it back in stock, they still don't!! I've never been to a CVS where so many items were in locked cabinets. Laundry detergent, liquors and hand lotion, to name a few, were behind locked doors. If you wanted to read labels or buy something, you had to ask a clerk. I guess this is just a rough neighborhood. The store is extraordinarily neat, tidy and well stocked. I stopped for some OTC meds and they had everything that I needed. I hate the "buy one get one 1/2 off" as who needs 2 huge bottles of anything? There is self check out, but I went to a clerk. She was friendly and amazing efficient. There was a long line of impatient customers and she was working two checkouts. Does anyone ever use the rolls of coupons that spit out? There is plenty of parking including close accessible spaces. There is an awkward island near the front door that is easy to trip over, so be careful. read more

Don't bother trying to call this pharmacy. They refuse to pick up the phone. It's absolutely pathetic. I don't always have time to drive to the store to get something taken care of that can't be done through the app. It's sad. I go out of my way to be nice to retail employees because I've done it before as well. But my god, these people really test me. read more

This CVS location is HORRIBLE if you're there for a prescription. The line, inside or at the drive-thru, is always ridiculously long. The best is when you wait in line at the drive-thru for over 30 minutes, just to finally pull up at 1:30 to learn that they close for lunch from 1:30-2:00. So you either have to wait for another 30 minutes or come back and wait in line again. This CVS is large enough and in a busy enough area that there should always be someone at the pharmacy... especially since they claim to be open 24 hrs. read more

There are always 3 - 5 working in the pharmacy area and no matter what time of day you come, you're guaranteed to be in line for no less than 20 minutes. Today 12/28/2024 I went to CVS pharmacy located at 1375 W 86Th St around 10:15 am (btw were i have all my records and insurance company information because it is a couple of block of my house) to ask about my Wegovy refill (which was 5 refill left) & first i was talking with a lady that no even check me in & transfer me to talk with another lady that was very unprofessional, she totally & clearly refuse to help me & honestly I'm very disappointed about what happened today to me, it is impossible to accept that a Pharmacist answer a patient with a continuous " I DON"T KNOW", my question then is: Why this person is working here ????? if you are not able to help to find a solution for a patient that is asking for your help!!!!, hello!! this is your JOB!!!. Problems with prescriptions. I had to go to a new GP this spring. The new prescriptions from the new GP completely screwed them up. Took me 3-4 months to figure it out for them. Called twice, no change, talked to them twice in person, no change, wrote a letter to the managing pharmacist, and he gave me the quick answer, but did not research the problem. Spent 30 minutes on the phone with the 800 customer service and someone set up a new account for the new GP instead of putting it under my existing account. I couldn't see any of my new prescriptions. Wrote another letter telling them what they had done and they did fix it after three weeks, but I never heard from anyone. Was planning on staying with them now that I figured out their problem for them until yesterday. My wife and I registered online for the booster shots for 10 am three days in advance. We showed up 5 minutes early, were 3rd & 4th in line, but when It came time to help us the nurse called someone else who had come in after us. As we were waiting, there were probably eight people waiting for shots at 10 am time slot. Their system must book multiple people for the same time slot and no idea how it prioritizes who gets what in what order. What's the point of making an appointment if you are overbooking seniors to do this? Walked out, went home and booked appointments at Walgreens. They actually reserve time slots like you should. We were taken in when we were supposed to be and out the door shortly thereafter. Transferred my prescriptions to Walgreens this morning. read more

I remember now why I switched to Walgreens pharmacy and eventually to Costco. I have to use CVS for one prescription because I HAVE to. My refill was promised on Thursday at 5. By Saturday at 11 I called to see why. I was told by the pharmacist that they are "currently a week behind on refills". Ummm. Excuse me...what? Their level of customer service and professionalism is greatly lacking. The lines in store and drive thru are ridiculous. We waited in line yesterday for 15 minutes 6 cars deep and never moved an inch. If we had waited to be told it wasn't ready...well. I don't have a problem waiting if you tell me the truth. But don't tell me it will be ready one day and not have it ready two days later. Kinda disgusted. When I was pregnant, this exact pharmacy gave me the wrong prescription. I entered off the street for a COVID vaccination that statewide is FREE and was denied because they said the can't accept the insurance I have the manager of the pharmacy was very rude and I work for cvs pharmacy I stated to him I work for the company's insurance and know that you can take me as a walk in off from the street. I called shortly after leaving the pharmacy to get an explanation on why I couldn't be taken for free since my insurance did not cover it I was hung up on by the pharmacy manager. As a employee of CVS health I was very disappointed with the managements terrible attitude and stand off approach I will be taken further look into why I was treated this way so it will not happen to anyone else seeking a vaccination during this pandemic. read more

We found service at this location good, and realtively quick when we walked in for flu shots... we came in and all four of us were in/out within 20 minutes. I have also been to nurse practitioner who was expedient and attentive to me and my history to ensure we got Rx that worked. read more

My refill was sent to this CVS and not where the initial prescription was sent at 1616 E86th Street. I don't know why. I called them around 4:40 pm. The hours were to close at 5:00 pm. I left my phone on hold for 1 hour and 20+ Minutes. I was hoping someone would answer a quick simple question for me before they left. Still waiting 20 minutes, before the pharmacy closed, is enough time to answer their phone! Regardless of how busy they are. Could have at least told me they closed at 5:00 pm of which I knew. Instead, that recording CONTINUES to tell me that someone would be with me!! Glad I didn't have a serious question. read more

Complete incompetence in the pharmacy. It's interesting that the pharmacy employees do not wear name tags - it helps to keep their poor behavior anonymous. The can't find patient names, then they can't find the correct package, loud, dismissive, and rude. It makes me wonder if they are filling the correct medications. Have been calling since 7/5/2020 to have BP med refilled and sent to me. 2 weeks and counting still have not received. Has if that is not bad enough, when checking bank account today. I found that they had in addition filled another prescription without my authorization to the tune of 311.84. I called them to ask what the **** was going on, the smart mouth who answered the phone and who I had in addition spoke to earlier had the nerve to tell oh I thought you said you wanted the other filled too. I said how is that when we didn't even discuss any other meds. I guess she must have seen my age and thought she could play some Jedi mind trick on me. I've been using CVS at this location for just over a year and I have to say this is my favorite! The staff, especially at the pharmacy, have been friendly and efficient at all hours of the day. The pharmacist is always willing to stop what she's doing to assist a customer or answer a question. I always use my CVS extra care card to get extra coupons when I walk in. I had to take away one star, however, because of the poor experience I had at their Minute Clinic a few months ago. The clinician did not show up even four hours after her shift began. You read that right, FOUR hours! I called customer care and tweeted at them to no avail. I ended up going to a different CVS Minute Clinic in Carmel and getting treated immediately by a NP. I can't deny the five stars the pharmacy staff deserves though! read more

The pharmacy staff at this location are unhelpful and condescending. Many of them are unkempt. The pharmacy always looks messy unorganized and grungy. Apparently they don't know that telephones and fax machines can be used for pre authorization as they told me the forms have to be mailed and it takes 4 business days. It took me one phone call and less than 10 minutes. So they're either idiots or lazy. Either way, take your business elsewhere. read more

Every time I come in to this location, for whatever the reason (a prescription, a snack, vitamins, etc.) the staff has always been welcoming and friendly. On the way home from work one night, my girlfriend asked me to stop here to get a very specific list of makeup products. I tried finding them but to little avail. Lisa, an associate, was the nicest and most helpful ever! She gets five stars for customer service! CVS on W 86th Street gets 5 stars for their cleanliness, friendliness, and being one of the best-staffed of every location I've been to (including other pharmacies)! Keep up the great work everyone! My husband & I been customers of CVS for years in Florida, Alabama, & Indiana. We have used this location for over 10 years. In the last few years we both have gone on Social Security & drug supplement. Since then we have been treated as second class citizens. My husband is a diabetic on insulin using pens. Just spent over$1000 for his monthy meds. One of the pens didn't work..he took it back to CVS ..he was told to call E I Lilly.
