Worst pharmacy ever. Takes 40 minutes to do basic stuff. No bedside manner. Downright mean pharmacists

First of all I want to start by saying that I do not live in this area I only work around this area and this is the closest cvs near me. I've been coming here for almost 2 years and to be frankly honest I always feel discriminated against every time. There's a tall bald Caucasian man don't know if he's management but he always makes it a point when I enter to follow me where I go in the store. This is not acceptable. I may be Disable BLACK and male in a wheelchair but I DO NOT steal and don't appreciate being followed every time I roll into this CVS. Your staff needs sensitivity training and bais training. I'm pretty sure I am not to only black person followed around this store by managers. I work full time even being disabled and I have money, I don't steal PERIOD! read more

I rarely come to this CVS location, and was really impressed with how large it is. The staff were friendly. I particularly love that they carry Hello Kitty and Sanrio merchandise. Can you believe they already have Halloween merch (in July)? The only negative with this location is that there were a lot of empty spaces and a lot of areas that need to be opened by staff (for theft protection). read more

Today's contact was exceptionally easy & efficient over the phone with all my needs satisfied. However, there is poor communication between the corporate office & the local branch. Also, the staff at my branch seems to change from week to week with the quality & knowledge being very erratic. One major benefit of dealing with a chain pharmacy is that they have a record of all the family prescriptions no matter what city or state you are in. This is VERY important if you run out of a prescription. This has happened several times over the years but I know I can get refills anywhere. The non-pharmacy part of the store has a wide selection of OTC meds & supplies which is helpful. I give them a rating of 3 1/2 because of the variability of the staffing & communication issues. read more

My wife and I have 9mth year old so we purchase pampers and wipes frequently. With that being said, we use coupons often from pampers.com and utilized at such stores as Walmart, Kroger and CVS "FREQUENTLY." I went into the store today to purchase pampers using our CVS rewards and also attempted to use one of our coupons from pampers.com. As I was telling the cashier named Yoly, she went to tell me that she doesn't think they can do that. I asked her why when this is a normal thing done by us and also at CVS stores. She walked off to go ask the manager and came back and said they couldn't. The manager then came by and told me no as well explaining it has to be a coupon directly through the CVS or printed, but not from a digital coupon from a 3rd party. I went to show them my wife's phone with the instructions and reiterated, this is something we do often and never have any issues. Krista/Christa (the manger) said that it was company policy and I asked her to show me that where it stated. She pointed the sticker by the register and said it's stated there. I then asked her to come show me where it stated and after she looked for few minutes, she said literally, "Oh they much of changed it, oh ok well." After that she walked off and went back to working in the aisle. Then after that another guy came to assist. I offered to give them the phone which listed instructions but they treated me as I was lying, didn't apologize for giving me false information and was extremely rude and short with me. The part that was upsetting is the manger and employees didn't take accountability for giving false information about the policy and then went to treat me as I used the coupon before and the issue was on my behalf. They didn't do anything to try to resolve the issue which was on their end and/or system. I've been inside this CVS a handful of times and it's always very busy but the few staff members inside are quite efficient and patient with all the customers. They cater well to the Laguna woods population and tend to their needs. Shout out to Shima for always keeping a positive and uplifting attitude! I started going to CVS to get extra large bandages for my mom. I didn't want to buy a cereal box size of bandages just a small box with a half dozen or so bandage that are 2" by 3" or 4" by 6" After the first time I bought a membership which cost me $45 for a year. The benefits are that I get 20% off cvs brand items and a $10 store credit every month that expires if I don't use it. Signing up for the text messages/emails I also get coupons for 30% off also. The question I have to ask myself is what is CVS good for that I can't get someplace else for the same or better? Half of the answer is convenience. CVS is a convenience store. Gas costs money and if one was to drive all over the place to Costco or Walmart to get the cheapest we would burn through our savings in gas going there and back if we were not already. Warehouse stores are usually cheaper but if there is a downside it's that we have to buy in bulk. The problem with that is storage space, desire for variety (when you have 20 or 30 of something when you were only in the mood for "one" of them), and sometimes we forget what we have or lose/damage it because "life" happens. CVS is mostly known as a pharmacy but I am fortunate enough not to need that right now. Instead I shop in its other sections, which have a large number of isles for hygiene related products. They have a variety of toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, skin care, vitamins and other assorted body care product lines. Likewise the store carries greeting cards, liquor, snacks, sodas/energy drinks, detergent and other home cleaning products, as well as seasonal decorations and gift items. Typically I use my $10 store credit to get an energy drink or two for myself and a bath bomb for my girl. She also likes the "Olay" and "Living Proof" shampoo which I use my 30% coupons on. Note: coupons don't work on state regulated products like milk and liquor; also items on two for $10 sale and such. In December of 2022 I shopped there for some Christmas cards and boxes of liquor that came with a seasonal glass as holiday gifts for my friends. They were quite well received and because of the sale I paid the same price as the big warehouse stores but essentially got the holiday glass for free. I find myself going to "this" store a lot because it is conveniently located near Mother's Market and banks I go to (Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Union Bank across the street). Atmosphere: 4 stars. "This" CVS is not bad but not the greatest either. Most of the customers appear to be seniors getting their prescriptions filled and such. The lines are either empty or long. Service: 5 stars. Felix and Yoly are great employees. You have to ask for a key to use the restroom but when you gotta go... Quality: 5 stars. Their products are CVS brand and mainstream. A fair review acknowledges that distributors/retail stores sell other companies products. They are not responsible for the quality of the other companies products. The business's real measure is how well they deal with defective products and returns. Value: 4 stars. Their prices are not the worst but not the cheapest either. Their only real competition for prices are warehouse stores like Costco and Walmart. If you are a member or can get the coupons and don't mind playing the coupon game you can beat or match the warehouse store prices and not have to buy in bulk. So its greatest value is in saving gas and taking advantage of its deals, membership, and coupons. If you were going to buy something anyway it saves you on average between $1 to $10 dollars. I think Costco sells pain relievers (Kirkland brand) for about 4 cents a pill CVS (with membership) can beat that by a penny but saved me $2 to $5 in gas. read more

I am not at all happy with my first experience of filling my prescriptions especially of Warfarin following the demise of Rite Aid. Initially I was emailed by CVS who confirmed they had my prescriptions that had been transferred by Rite Aid to them and to check if any refills were needed, I said YES TO WARFARIN as I was down to 3 days supply....no response, I went to the store and stood waiting in line for more than 25 minutes i to be told they had to call my provider for expediting a prescription renewal....I called my Coumadine clinic AND my cardiologist as the pharmacist as suggested...today, I tried to call CVS Pharmacy but the voice robot said that it did not understand my response , I am British and speak perfect English ! Needless to say I will not continue patronizing CVS and will be looking for an efficient Pharmacy that is polite and that can fill my prescription as needed. read more

Well, they finally hired more people for the Pharmacy so even if the line is long, it moves very quickly, this is since Rite Aid had shut down. But the problem is at the front of the store, there is never enough people, and there are not enough cash registers actually there are two cash registers and a couple of self checkouts, which is very difficult for the older demographic, especially if you're using coupons. They need to get rid of that self check out at a couple of more cash registers and hire some people... It's a freaking disaster in the front of the store. read more

Now that the Rite Aid has closed down, the pharmacy lines are always way too long. Since I have 2 bad ankles, I am having problems waiting over 15-30 minutes or more to reach the check-out counter. So I took the advice of someone on NextDoor who said to use Drugxperts Pharmacy Laguna Woods, Inc. It is located next door to the CVS at 24301 Paseo de Valencia. They not only have a drive-thru window, but also if you go around to the back of the building, there is plenty of parking. It's also an easy, flat walk inside to the pharmacy which is located at the back of the building. read more

My doctor called in an RX to this location on Thanksgiving. The website says the store is open. THERE IS NO WAY TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON. THERE IS ONLY "RS" (REAL STUPIDITY, AS OPPOSED TO "AI"). My husband drove over there only to be told the pharmacy is not open today at all. My RX will be transferred to Ralphs in the morning, at least if I can get someone on the phone. Purchased a gift card for Sephora in March, was already compromised, when I contacted them with my receipt, they said some of there cards are already fraudulent when you buy them. I went thur the fraud division and them blamed Sephora for not returning the funds back to them this has been going on for months and they won't honor my receipt and refund me the money. I tried to call today to reorder a prescription now you have a talking automatic screening which I still couldn't get my prescription refilled because they had two different prescriptions of the same medication different strengths so then after wasting that 5 minutes I was on hold 20 minutes and 30 seconds. They picked up the phone once said to hold so I did then they hung up. I was furious. I called the store manager who I complained to I asked him aren't patients just as important as standing in line always 20+ minutes or more. He said yes I'll tell them to help you. Well how he did that was I'm back on the phone hearing the same stuff while holding. I hung up called him back and he says I was walking back there when I heard them pick it up he walked back. I said I'm not willing to hold again and I was put back on hold. I'm done! I looked thru Yelp and every CVS around Laguna Woods has the same complaints and ratings of 2 usually. This is the worst service I've ever experienced in CVS. There was just one poor girl working at the same time on 2 cash registers and photo center as well. Photo center has the worst quality for simple photo prints. You upload highest quality photos - get something absolutely unacceptable. If you want to get high quality photos printed - go to Walmart. Their quality is 10 times better, and the prices are 3 times lower (14 cents in Walmart vs 45 cents in CVS). read more

Truly a nasty place. Like all CVS's, it's understaffed, but instead of understand shift managers, you get the meanest people imaginable. This place was understaffed with one check out open, so I asked if the manager could help out. When she arrives, she said, "I have 4 people up here--what do you want?!" I told her I just wanted to pay and leave and she harassed me. Never go here. I can't see myself going to any CVS again and I spend about $1500.00 a month there for Rx. Such nasty people. Pharmacy staff were so lovely to me. I needed to pick up a time sensitive prescription on Labor Day, and was willing to just pay whatever it cost. (No insurance, and in a pickle.) The staff filled the script super quickly and even went on the hunt to find me a coupon to help with the cost. I probably looked pitiful. Dec 2024 when I picked up my last prescription I told them NOT to call my doctor for refill because I will use Rid Aid this year. But they did. They did that to my doctor in Northern CA too for refill 6 years ago. I complained to their store manager but she told me there was nothing she could do. I sent them email told them to STOP but I am still getting email after email for that prescription asking me to pick it up. I paid $12 for that prescription from Rid Aid and I was told by CVS it will cost me $530 !!! read more

You can no longer call and talk to a CVS pharmacist. You must leave a voicemail, and MAYBE a pharmacist will call you back sometime. It's painfully clear that CVS management doesn't give a rats ass about their customers. I fill a lot of prescriptions. I will be switching all those prescriptions to Walgreens. Let's start by saying that if I could award 0 stars I would! The customer service of Yoly who works on the front register is less than stellar! While in line I listened to her argue with a customer about what he was purchasing. Telling him that he could not use his coupons, even though he showed her on his phone that they applied to his order. Once she quit arguing with him and scanned his coupon like he had asked her to do, guess what???, by George the coupon worked! Had she just scanned the coupon like the customer asked, the lady in front of me and myself wouldn't have had to wait an extra 10 minutes while she ranted and argued. The time came for the lady in front of me to check out. Guess what? That's right Lolly argued with her as well about a coupon she had. This began about a 5 minute rant, which resulted in the coupon working! Now it's my turn. I tell her I have a photo order. She proceeds to tell me that I have to wait one hour for my photos, which I already did. I tell her that it has been well over an hour since I processed them on the kiosk. She walks back and forth from the photo area to her register several times, saying the photos were not there but she had them in her hand. I tell her I have coupons for my order and she begins to argue with me about those as well. Having already heard her ranting with the two people in front of me I ask for a manager. Over comes Daniel, the supposed manager. I explain to him about the attitude that Yoly has had with myself and other customers. He proceeds to tell me "Well, I don't think the people in line are very happy with you right now so that makes it even. If you'd like to talk further I can meet you outside for a further discussion." Very busy. The pharmacists and techs know what they are doing. This pharmacy is in the middle of a town with 16000 people over 55. The staff knows how to deal with difficult prescriptions, difficult insurance, and cranky old people like me. They have a great selection of over the counter meds and devices If you are you are looking for ice cream and snacks this may not be the place for you. I am new to the area and had a prescription ready at an out of state CVS. I called this CVS to have the prescription information transferred here which I've done at other CVS pharmacies many times. I waited 45 minutes on hold and a woman picked and said they were going on lunch break and promptly hung up. I called a couple hours later and was told I could pick up mr RX later. I went there later and got to the prescription window at exactly 6:01 and had the window shut in my face as I stood there and was told to come back tomorrow. If I could give this place a minus star, I would. I have been writing prescriptions in my Dental practice for over 40 years and have never delt with such arrogance before as a patient or a doctor. read more

The most filthy store I have ever been in. This store is close to Laguna Woods which is 55+ community so this would mean that their immune system would be compromised. I went into the bathroom and I was appalled. The floor was awful!! I was afraid to touch anything in there. The store wasn't much better.
