The post office in here is a hidden gem not a lot of people know about. I love coming here to send off Christmas cards and packages without having a long wait like it would be at the post office during the holiday season. This place deserves 5 stars. I live in Costa Mesa and I needed a prescribed cream ASAP and all the pharmacies in that area would take 3 days to make. This is the only pharmacy that was willing to make it within 1 day, it genuinely saved me so much pain and stress. The techs in the front were on top of it, they were quick to pick up the phone and were so kind at pick up. It looked like they had pharmacy students in there which was motivating to see that students wanted to learn from these top tier pharmacists. I recently had knee surgery and needed to buy a cane to help me walk during my recovery. My hair stylist, who is just a couple of miles from "The Druggist" in Laguna Niguel, told me to head over there to check out their canes. The Druggist is located off of Aliso Creek Road in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, Peet's Coffee, See's Candy, etc. If you are facing Whole Foods, they are on the left towards the end of the shopping center. Plenty of parking is available. As soon as I walked in, or shall I say "limped in", I was greeted by the friendly cashier. I asked where I could find canes, and she pointed towards the back, by the pharmacy. She asked if I needed assistance, as she could tell that I was having a hard time walking. I thought that was a nice gesture. When I got to the back where the canes are, the lady who works in that section came out to help me. She explained the various types of canes and showed me how to use them. I didn't realize there were so many variations! She then showed me all the different colors and designs. She advised that I try a few of the canes out in the store by walking around with them, which I did. As soon as I selected the one I wanted, she adjusted the cane so that it matched my arm length. She was incredibly helpful and friendly. As I was walking towards the cashier to pay for the cane, I noticed that they had a lot of gift items for sale, kind of like a mini Hallmark store. I didn't have time to shop around, but I hope to return one day to check out their gift items. They even have a US Post Office satellite location inside their store. I am so happy with the cane that I bought and the caring service that they provided to me while I was there. I have never experienced such friendly employees at a drug store. First, I wish to correct a mistake I made posting a review about a problem of not keeping my pain meds in stock. Ordering them sometimes took days. It turns out, it wasn't a slight, it was the law....And, common sense. Sadly, as a lifetime chronic pain patient and as a retailer who must dispense these meds, both of us are victims to the ever growing abuse population. Necessary precautions have made victims out of innocent people and pharmacists. The family owned Druggist has been my pharmacy for over 15 years. Despite a 9 mile move to M.V. Added comment in response to proprietor of The Druggist (9/6) - Read my post carefully and try to make sense of it. Definitely not blaming any baby, but a combination of distractions. Seriously?! It is doubtful that Yelp will remove a comment that reflects a personal experience and perspective on the lack of empathy and, therefore, customer service. My comment here is to let others know of an experience I had in which the employee that provided me service was distracted by a visit from her brother and his cute baby, USPS guy waiting, people in line and someone being trained. This resulted in my package, which was intended to go to Canada, traveling to such locations as Kansas City, MO and Austin, TX, in addition to several locations in Southern California (i.e., Los Angeles, Anaheim, Moreno Valley, Industry, and Bell Gardens), as substantiated in the tracking details for the package, and, at some point along the way, being turned away from Customs and returned to sender after a mounting journey due to the lack of a Customs form attached to the package (according to a USPS Manager at the Magdalena USPS office after examining the returned package). The lack of a Customs form seems to logically explain why the package would have traveled to so many places. This brings up a very important point - each of the several times that I have sent a package to Canada from The Druggist, Eric, who typically helped me, asked me to complete and sign a Customs form - except for this time in which the employee who helped was not Eric. Might that explain why the form did not appear on the package when it was turned away from Customs? The screenshot of your employee affixing a label on my package - Lol - can't even see if it was a Customs form. If it was, it fell off. So, in retrospect, I would make one minor revision to my former fully substantiated comment, especially since I re-sent the package through the Laguna Hills USPS and it arrived at its destination in Canada in just a few days - I suggest that folks who would like to send something internationally should do this via the USPS location on Magdalena. My place of employment? I work with my husband who is the President and CEO of an international conglomerate. We definitely offer amazing Customer Service. Lol Initial Review: If you need things done right, go to an actual post office. Take your USPS packages anywhere but this place. There is no Customer Service here, and if anything goes wrong, it will somehow not be their fault. No apology in good faith as to what I had to go through. Apparently, no customer service! Do your self a favour and go to the post office on Magdalena. They are super sweet and they get it done right. Here, it's just a hassle. Edit: In your mind, you may have done everything right, but the fact is that the form was not there when the package got returned back to me, and also confirmed by USPS in Laguna Hills. Perhaps your employee affixed it loosely? After all, there were a lot of distractions. Your employee's brother and his baby came visiting, USPS guy waiting, who I said he should go because I wasn't in a rush, and also there were people in line. Whether you're responsible or not, saying "I'm sorry this happened" makes all the difference one has towards an establishment. Doesn't always mean you did something wrong. It would mean you have some sort of compassion for what your customer had to endure. I didn't even ask for a refund after I got my package returned. Yes, initially I did, but there's no way you would return anyone's money once you had it in your hand - yes, I've read other reviews. It's not always about the money, and I initially thought my package was making it. It did not clear customs. It went through customs and was denied because there was no form. Something happened along the way with the form. Laguna Hills USPS confirmed this. Again, it probably wasn't affixed correctly due to distractions. The constant "we did nothing wrong" is straight up just wrong. A couple times over the years, does not mean you've been consistently helping me. You say an owner did this? Looks even worse for your establishment. Multiple discounts? Lol - Never for shipping, and only once for pharmacy. I use Kaiser, so you are definitely not my go to pharmacist. And now, definitely not for shipping. USPS on Magdalena helped resolve the issue, not you. And here-in lies yours and your employee's lack of customer focus. Sure, don't apologize. You and your employee just don't get it, but that's okay. read more

This review is in regards to a Compounded Drug. I used this pharmacy many years ago for a compounded Rx. Very dependable. This last July I returned for the same type of Rx. They tell you it will take 2 to 3 days to fill, but it always ends up being 4 to 8 days. I know this type of drug takes longer to fill, but they should be up front and tell you when you place the order. I found a pharmacy that only does compounding and they were able to fill it in two hours! read more

EXPIRED AND WRONG COVID-19 VACCINE INJECTED. My daughter, son-in-law, and I made appointments to receive the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines at The Druggist Pharmacy in Laguna Niguel on 4/29/21. We specifically waited to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as it was our strong preference. We prepared the necessary paperwork and were given our COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards with the Johnson & Johnson product name and lot numbers. So far, so good. We were then given our injections and returned to my daughter's home. Shortly after arrival, we received a call from the owner of THE DRUGGIST Pharmacy informing us that WE WERE INJECTED WITH THE WRONG MEDICATIONS! WE WERE NOT GIVEN the Johnson & Johnson vaccines that we had waited for (and which were recorded on our Vaccination Record Cards), but had been injected with the dose 1 of Maderna that had EXPIRED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED 3 DAYS EARLIER! So, all three of us had been injected with expired vaccines that had been left in the pharmacy after the destruction deadline. Not only that, but the drugs were left sitting in the hypodermic syringes, not in vials, and were left at room temperatures for over 3 days in a non-sterile environment. Obviously we were upset and concerned and the owner of this pharmacy was not able to tell us what the possible health ramifications may be to us. He apologized profusely, indicated that the pharmacy intern that administered our shots was going to be terminated, but that would do nothing to address our health concerns. We demanded more guidance on what to do, but he was useless in providing us with guidance. We all rely on pharmacies to maintain tight controls over the medications that they store and dispense - HOW COULD SUCH LAX PRACTICES BE IN PLACE IN A STATE LICENSED PHARMACY? Further, it is a requirement of law that these matters be reported to VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) hosted by the US Dept of Health and Human Services. The owner of THE DRUGGIST provided us with report filing information but has been unwilling/unable to provide us with copies of the actual reports, so we do not know what information was provided to VAERS or if he reported things accurately and factually. I personally filed a report in the VAERS system and printed the complete report, so why is it that this pharmacist did not make a copy of his report? Really? All three of us had reactions to the material that was injected into our bodies, with my daughter being particularly hard hit. It is unimaginable that a pharmacy could have such POOR PHYSICAL CONTROLS over expired and potentially dangerous medications, and to think that despite this incident, the owner of this establishment attempted to defend his control protocols. UNBELIEVABLE! What are the potential long term health ramifications of being injected with this expired non-viable material? We continue to wait for answers. read more

I have a compound prescription and this is one of the only pharmacies in the area that can fill it. When I got the first month supply, I asked for it to be on auto fill. They did not do it. So, when I ran out and called for a refill, they said that I never put it on auto fill, so I waited 3 days for it to be refilled... The next month it was auto filled, and no one called to say it was ready. I called them, it was there and i picked it up. This month, expecting that it was still on auto fill, I called to see if it was ready, they told me it had not been filled or enrolled in auto fill. What the heck!!! And, it takes 3 days to fill a compound so I have been without meds for the weekend. Anyone have another recommendation for a compounding Pharmacy? This one cant seem to get it together. I only go for the post office. This is an old school drug store and it seems that there are a lot of old timers who come here. I can only comment on the post office: It's generally not to crowded. There is only one person who works the post office inside the drug store, so at times it can get backed up. The prices are the same as the regular post office and they have everything you need to package an item. The staff are efficient, but not the friendliest in town. I am giving it a 4 star review becasue I don't know about the rest of the store, but from my impression its good. read more
