This CVS SUCKS!!!! Don't go here. Run! Go ANYWHERE else to receive pharmaceutical assistance. A N Y W H E R E! The staff is slow. They always have lines..They screw up prescriptions or don't receive them or don't update them or have your old and NEW prescriptions and refill them BOTH. If you have severe medical issues and take more than 10 medications a day, don't expect them to be helpful, or God forbid they claim they don't have your insurance information when they are supposed to be ready and you have picked up your medications before and you have a friend try to pick them up becasue you're to ill to go yourself and the medication you need hasn't neen filled BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE YOUR INSURANCE AND THEY DON'T CALL YOU AFTER ER TRANSMITTED THE 6 PRESCRIPTIONS TO PREVENT A HEART ATTACK OR STROKE!!!! They don't take patient care seriously as this location deals with "poor or homeless". Who cares? They are still people with medical issues and most have insurance. Nitwits. read more

So the location is very nice as I live right next door and it's easy to park and get to. Also the pharmacy inside is pretty quick and has nice hours. I can even send mail and get some misc. items I need. The staff are friendly enough and answer any questions I have. Sometimes there is a few items on sale that are actually pretty good savings. Pharmacy has major issues. I have had instances where prescriptions have taken literally days to get refilled. I chose CVS because it is a truly national chain which has worked out well when traveling, but I may need to revisit that decision. read more

Unfortunately, if it weren't for 1 pharmacist in particular at this location, my overall experience is good. I don't mind waiting in line if needed, but I've been very happy with the quick service for pharmacy pick up. The problem is the way 1 pharmacist has handled my Rx's on several occasions. She asks questions she has no business asking (unless she has specific need and would like me to allow my doctor to provide details). She has done this in person in front of all the other people in line, which now have the privilege of knowing my private medical information. This is unethical behavior and completely out of line. I'm sure I am not the only person to be subjected to such condescending and unprofessional behavior. The other pharmacists have been extremely helpful & have not felt the need to share my medical history with total strangers. I wish I knew when she was working, so I could deal only with the pleasant people who don't have some other agenda or something to prove. This is for the CVS in Livermore next to OSH and Safeway. The pharmacy at this CVS rocks. Big kudos, pharmacy department. I recently had a bad experience with one of the regular non-pharmacy cashiers. Folks - if you're ever in Diana's line - cashier # 837689 - I encourage you to move. She was rude and interupted me twice while I was trying to ask a question. She condescendingly answered what she THOUGHT I was asking - twice - and talked down to me like I was stupid. When I re-asked the question a third time, she responded with a big sigh and an eyeroll. She is exactly what you DON'T want in a cashier or customer service rep. Diana, I sure hope this isn't your day job because you really need to work on your people skills. read more

Worst pharmacy in Livermore. Staff is slow, badly informed, rude and esl. Email coupons never seem to be valid and are only a scam to get you in the store. Prescriptions are never filled till you show up in person no mater when they are called in, just to give everyone 15 minutes shopping time. It's an awful store. Go to target across the street they are awesome, informed, helpful and clean. read more

ON THE PHARMACY: While the staff is friendly when talking to you about your Rx and items, they will blatantly ignore you standing in line to come from the back to help. Every. Single. Time. This has happened the last 5 consecutive visits I've had to pharmacy. Each time I get there, I wait in line. Whether there's 1 or 5 people in front of me, I wait. Never less than 10 minutes. There will be one person there to help people pickup, but 2-4 people in the back filling Rx's, maybe taking drop-off's and just walking around in general. They'll ignore the line, avoid eye contact and maaaaaaybe open a second line IF they notice that the line is long enough to take action. Maaaaaaybe. E.g. My visit 2 weeks ago. I was next in line behind an elderly lady. No problem, I understand she's elderly and has a hard time getting around. I was patient. I waited about 15 minutes for her to get her 2 Rx's, then discuss her coupons, and finally proceed to pay by check. I had complete patience with her (to the best of my capability). But the STAFF?! They just ignored me and the line that accumulated behind me during this whole time! And then- And THENNNN!!! Some chick walks up from the side behind this elderly woman straight over from the drop-off counter. I thought she was just waiting for her grandma... but when the older woman walked away, this broad jumps in front of me!! Me and about 7 other customers who had been standing in line no less than 15 minutes min!! But, I was a lady. I bit my tongue. I was more outraged that the guy at the counter just helped her without explaining that; Hello - There's a LINE! Finally, a girl from the back area came out to help me by opening a new line. (Thanks for finally noticing me and the other 7 people that have been standing here for 15 minutes now.) And, as always, after picking up your Rx (finally), they want you to wait for a consult. ANOTHER. LINE. Each time I walk over, wait and stand there while I'm - yet again - ignored. And there's still about 2-4 people in the back. Filling Rx's and talking about whatever is going on in their current life outside of work. So flipping annoying. ON THE REST OF THE STORE: Seriously, you can find the products (beauty mostly) a LOT cheaper at Wal-Mart, GO, Target (maybe, could be a wash there actually) or my much-anticipated-and-soon-to-come: Walgreens on the other side of Safeway! (Finally! Some REAL competition for this stupid store!) Those receipt coupons are a joke. Half the time they're for items you don't normally use. And the CVS bucks not only expire quickly, but are not eligible towards Rx purchases. Store is clean enough and stocked well enough for items you may need quickly. Staff is friendly enough - but only when dealing directly with them. Don't expect any staff member to go out of their way to ask if you need assistance. You'll have to flag someone down to get their attention, and that's only IF they happen to not look away when you're trying to make eye contact. 1 Star for convenience and location. But hopefully the competition moving into town will get that star... 1 Star for the Pharmacy since the Consult lady - despite making me wait each time - is always SO nice and somehow manages to make me feel good when leaving despite the the fact that somehow I just got the "grab-your-ankles" treatment. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I was there for pain meds. Asked the person how long it would take to fill Rx given I'm in pain. He said 25 mins max. 25 mins later I asked is it ready he says no. 20 mins later I ask again and he finally bothers to really look. Lo and behold it was ready and waiting. Not pleasant especially as I had emphasized my need for speed. I will not be returning. The store is one of those that feel like just a big depressing dollar store atmosphere. Clean but somehow dingy and yucky. Stay away. You have been warned. read more

Breaking up with this place due to lame customer service in the pharmacy repeatedly. I did not want to go through the trouble of giving all my info to the Walgreens across the street but I went ahead and did and it's an overall way better experience. Newer store, friendlier service and they act like they actually want to fill your prescription. This cvs always acts like you are troubling them. Definitely will not be back. read more

I went into this store to purchase a cleaning product and asked a nice young man at the service desk if they carried the product. He not only personally walked back with me to the shelf where the item was located, but helped me select which one of the several products would be helpful for the project I would be working on. I want to commend the pharmacy staff at this CVS. As of Jan 1 2013, many MANY new customers descended upon them, with no warning, due to the lab's transfer of all (?) non-Kaiser employees to CVS. They are doing a superb job keeping up with all the new scripts, transfers, and lots of questions in addition to attending to existing customers. I also want to chastise higher-ups in CVS for not letting the staff know about this impending avalanche!! This entire transition could have been much easier for everyone if pharmacy managers had been given the opportunity to schedule additional personnel to cover this very busy time. Kudos to the CVS staff at store #9678 - especially Carol and Ronney (they're the ones I've dealt with so far). They don't get flustered, they stay calm and always polite with customers (who, in some cases, are understandably angry or annoyed!). I'd also like to ask the customers to be patient patients - things will be quite bumpy at the pharmacy for a while. My doctor's office accidentally faxed my prescription to the incorrect CVS in Livermore.. and I said, well.. it's not the end of the world. Not only did they not have the medication, (it took a week to get in.. I had to beg the pharmacist to agree to stock the medication around the same time every month so that I wouldn't have to wait a week) I'd like to try and write something positive about the store or convenience of the location, but there's just nothing good to say. Sorry CVS, I'll be happy when this location closes down so my doctors office won't make the same mistake again! read more

I've never experienced such poor service from pharmacy staff as I did at this location Monday night (8/26.) I arrived about 15 minutes after leaving the doctor's office. Upon arrival I checked-in and was told my prescriptions weren't ready but that they'd received all 4 and would have them ready in 10 minutes. About 30 minutes passes so I check back in and they say that they don't actually have any of the prescriptions and that I needed to step to the side. I did so, another woman came over and said they actually had 2 of the 4 but had stopped filling them because my insurance was outdated. They knew I was waiting, why wouldn't they call me over rather than wasting my time?? I provided my current insurance card and was told they would expedite the prescriptions once they reprocessed them and that it would be about 10 more minutes. Yet another 30 minutes passes, I check back in, and they only have 3 ready and say there is no 4th prescription and that the doctor must not have sent it yet. It's 7:45pm and I left the doctor's office at 6:40, believe me, they are not still there faxing prescriptions. At this point three different ladies have helped me, all have been grossly incorrect, snarky, and completely inefficient at customer service. I'm fed up at this point, opt to pay for my 3/4 prescriptions and leave without the medication I need the most. At this point she loudly told me I was incorrect and that I did not have 4 prescriptions with a line of about 5 people behind me to deflect their frustration. By now I've been in the store for an hour and 40 minutes! I arrive home 10 minutes later and get a call saying they've located my 4th prescription and that I could come pick it up. This is literally at 8:40pm. I have never experienced such an inept group of people in my life and it's frightening that they are responsible for critical medications for people. Not only that, they were so eager to get me to leave that I was not offered a consultation at all on any of the new medications I was prescribed! I will NEVER fill any prescriptions with CVS again for my family or myself. This location has completely turned me off from your company and I'll be taking all of my business elsewhere. read more

I call to see if they can do passport photos and I am told by Lupe that they can do them. I tell her that I am on my way and will be there in a few minutes. I get to the store and I am told she has left for the day and the cashier by the photo section does not know how to do a passport photo. He calls the manager, Eric I think, and tells him the situation. The said manager is too busy to come up and talk to me so I am sent on my way after the cashier acknowledges he heard my convo with the Lupe lady telling me to come down and have my picture taken. To add insult to injury he tries to tell me after the whole fiasco that the machine is down and they cannot do any photos......I won't be back. read more

Having owned a small business in the past I tend to be pretty even handed when I review any business on Yelp. I will never put up a negative review unless I speak to management and attempt to resolve the issue. It is with great regret that I write my first one star review. My wife and I went shopping at CVS Pharmacy (1500 First St.) recently and could not find a shopping cart. My wife asked a manager where all the carts were and he said "We don't have any because they keep getting stolen". He went on to say that they have more on order. So I guess in the meantime the customers can carry their purchases in the little hand baskets. That should really put the ring in the old cash register. I realize shopping cart theft is a part of retail, but surely someone in management had to notice they were getting low to reorder them in a timely manner. I've also noticed how they hardly ever have more than one check stand open regardless of how many customers are in line. It appears to me that CVS is more interested in saving a buck than the customer experience. I'm missing Longs Drugs more all the time. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I cannot tell you how many times I've gone into the store with sick kids, in a hurry to do my other 12 things on my list, or I came in after receiving an automated call that script was ready but I could not get my prescription even though it was ready and waiting for me. WHY?? Oh, because their pharmacist was on a break. Wait, what?? You're a pharmacy, right? But, ok, let me just sit here for the next 20 minutes (AGAIN) because your pharmacist is on a break. And their reply is to point to a sign that posts the pharmacist lunch time. Well, today was the last straw when the time on the sign (which apparently I'm to commit to memory along with my own family's schedule) had come and gone already. Their reply, "oh, she left for her break late." Not my problem folks. Wish I had 20 minutes with absolutely nothing else to do, but I had another appointment to get to. Glad the Walgreens just opened across the street. Bye bye CVS and your over priced items. Work on your customer service. It doesn't cost a thing . . . Except customers. read more
