There was a few times where the cashier would disappear and people would intentionally take their time to brush things against my butt. Another time I bought a shower and someone had diarrhea all over the seat. I came back out to ask what happened and if I could get a new shower. 1 time they weren't there. The other was "why is that shower not good enough for you?" I explained someone pooped on the seat and the jackass said to flush it. With that much diarrhea its basically a health hazard and there wasn't any reason for them NOT TO CLEAN IT, especially since it was their job to.

The price of gas was better than what I saw back at home which pleased me. The store was very clean and organized. I took my grandson in to use the men's bathroom. It was as expected for a gas station on the road a little bit worn in appearance but clean and well stocked with toilet paper. There were good snacks by the door like bags of Doritos that caught the eye of both my grandson and I but my wise daughter had packed food for the road so we continued out to the car. The employee at the checkout counter was having a friendly exchange with another customer when we entered and he wished us a good day as we excited. Inside I observed the appropriate #covid19 safety precautions being taken in the store (masks and social distancing). There are a ton of gas pumps and chargers. The bathrooms are plentiful, well stocked and clean. The merch is amazing. So much Beaver gear we never knew we needed. Buc'ees mugs, beach towels and snacks were the highlights. We also tried them famous brisket and it did not disappoint. Staff is super patient and helpful. Can't hardly wait for the next trip.

The store shows its age, there are things placed here and there, so remember to take a good look, you might actually find what you've been looking for. It's always nice when you accidentally run across something you haven't seen in 40+ years. That's how I felt about Shelton's Store. It reminded me of my local convenience store in my neighborhood when I was 5 years old. If I had a dime, it magically turned into a candy bar once inside the store. :)

The variety of items on the shelves is actually pretty funny and some of them look like they have been there for 40+ years. The couple that runs the place keeps a notebook with all transactions hand written in it. You can get homemade deli sandwiches on the super soft white bread that sticks to the roof of your mouth when you take a bite. Nothing fancy but it's nice to get lunch for 2 for less than $10 anywhere these days. They serve breakfast as well but I haven't made it in to try that yet. They also sell fuel but you can't pay at the pump. I would find that annoying some places but it just makes sense here. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places left like Shelton's.
