I'm super-grateful to the pharmacy staff at this Westwood CVS.   My sister and I had a lot of trouble booking a Moderna booster for my 97-year-old mom and this CVS pharmacy in the heart of Westwood (with validated parking next door!) booked us an appointment.  For various reasons I wound up arriving there with my mom on both the wrong day and at the wrong time, but the good-hearted pharmacy staff here found us a spare Moderna dose and administered it with kindness and efficiency. read more

I love CVS Pharmacy because it's not so big that it takes forever to walk around and get your things but it's not so small that there's not much to buy. This CVS is no different. It's in a convenient location if you're a student at UCLA. It also has four self-checkout kiosks as well as at least 1 human cashier on duty. So you're always in and out quick if you'd like to be. It also has a basement floor where the pharmacy and more aisles are. The store is always clean and the shelves are always stocked. The store is never really crowded no matter when you go in. read more

The staff is always very friendly, but there never seems to be more than 1 or 2 of them around. I usually visit for very specific items, and I'm not too familiar with this CVS, so unless it is a drink or cosmetic item, I have to find an employee to inquire about the item for which I'm looking. The fact that there are two floors is an interesting concept at first, but not when you are looking at the aisle signs to find an item. You obviously can't see what is downstairs, unless your downstairs. So if you want to avoid having to go up and down the stairs more than once, it is in your best interest to just quickly ask an employee if you can't find an item. I can't even remember how many times my photo orders have gone wrong. Let's see... one time my order was misprinted and I was shorted of like 50 photos. I came back for a reprint but the photo technician simply disappeared so I had to come back again a second time. Another time, they lost my order. I had called to make sure it was there, but when I showed up at the store, it was gone. The photo technician told me he couldn't do anything and I had to come talk to the manager the next day. So I called, and the manager wasn't there, and this happened a few times before I was told I had to call the actual CVS headquarter number and get a reprint. When I came to pick up my order, wow, both were there so I got double prints for the price of one with added major inconvenience. A third time, I ordered a photo collage and that took forever to ship to the store. 2 weeks when it was supposed to be 1 week? Thanks. The most recent, I printed my photos express because they were for something urgent. I show up at the store only to be told that the system was down and I would have to wait 48 hours. Wow. You know, it's called 1 hour express for a reason. I ended up having to go back home to get my flash drive and go print at a different location. I don't think I'm ever printing photos at this CVS again. The photo employees are nice though, but they're disorganized and barely there. Orders go wrong way too many times. read more

The one thing that I don't like about this place is the reliance on automated checkout stands. Unless you know exactly what you want how to get it and are willing to do that that's fine but if you need to wait for a person there's usually a very long line that you have to wait through and the service is pretty slow. The places understaffed a little overpriced I think compared to other pharmacies in the area. But it is located in the village and is central to pretty much everywhere you would go. Not my first choice pharmacy but you could do far worse. read more

This review is regarding the pharmacy. There are plenty of pharmacists behind the counter but they are to busy filling bottles to actually help patients get their medicine. I actually tried getting a prescription filled 4 or 5 times and they kept on saying that they needed approval and I should check back next week. This place is horrid. The male pharmacist I encountered today was a rude little piece of shit. I asked if I would get extra bucks for my prescription purchase to which he replied that I would get five dollars off for every 10 purchases. Since this isn't my usual pharmacy (thank Christ) and I was picking up my prescription here as an urgent emergency, I said no thanks and then asked him in confirmation, "Oh, so I won't get anything off for THIS PARTICULAR purchase?". He was too slow to understand what I was talking about and started pitching a major fucking attitude out of nowhere, looking dramatically exasperated, saying in the rudest tone possible, "That's what I JUST said! You'll get five dollars off every ten." So I was like, "No, I meant for THIS purchase". He continued on with his fucking attitude and said " YES, You'll get money OFF". When he rang up my prescription, and it was the exact same price I realized he still had no fucking idea what I was talking about and decided it was futile as he's too fucking stupid. What a piece of dog shit. CVS train your employees in basic respect. read more

This is the go to place for Arizona Ice teas, quick snacks, and random late night runs. It is open 24 hours which makes is nice while studying for midterms or finals. I miss this place. The staff are really nice and helpful. -Tej read more

Honestly not a huge fan of this CVS. It has a sort of dingy feel, the whole 2-story setup is annoying, and the people at the photo print desk will do their best to ignore you unless you really get in their face. They also don't have bags with handles which is pretty inconvenient. HOWEVER, I would like to give a shout-out to the pharmacist lady. I don't know her name, but she was really polite and helpful. I waited quite a while in line for my prescription and I could tell she'd had a long day just like me, but was still apologetic about the wait and filled my prescription quickly. When I picked it up, I got a consultation from her about the medication and she was quite helpful in explaining what to do and wished me to feel better. Small gestures like this really make a difference and I needed that after having a tough day. read more

Rant-- I asked one of the employees about a skincare product that was mislabeled. The entire row of this item was placed above a wrong tag (same brand, different product). When you scan this item it shows up at a price that's 3x what the label says. If you look really carefully at the tag you'll see that it's the wrong tag...but with skincare items because the names are so long and the tags are so tiny you really wouldn't notice unless you kind of knew where this item should be ballparked around price-wise I know that at some stores, if an entire row of an item is mislabeled they'll give you the lower price because it's their mistake. I'd thought about buying this item a couple of times while browsing at CVS so I'd noticed before that this item was mislabeled. When I finally decided to get it I showed the lady the item and how it's not labeled properly. She got really defensive immediately and told me no, that's not the right price. (Yes, I know, I'm the one who told you that...) She then found the right label, which was one row down, to the side, and moved the entire row of this product there. But because this store is extremely jam packed, she had to shove the item next to the new location out of the way to make room for this item. I think there were two rows of makeup remover wipes that she shoved into one row to make room. I asked the lady if I could have the item at the lower price because it was mislabeled. I think most large stores give it to you at the lower price if it wasn't a case of really messy shelves and clearly someone from the store had misplaced them. She barked "NO! People do that all the time! They put things in the wrong place! I can't give it to you for that price!" I gave her a weird eye I think at that point and told her "Umm...no...I didn't do that..." So she continued: "I didn't say you did! But you still can't have it. Uh-uh nope." And walked away. Pricewise, it was a pretty big difference so I can't say it was a huge surprise...maybe? But honestly, it was the store's mistake. And it's unlikely that some hooligans came in and relocated an entire row... It's not like I found one La Roche Posay item in the N.Y.C. section and asked for N.Y.C. pricing! And it's unlikely that it was ever in the right place because it the product didn't even fit at the new location. When I tried to tell her how it didn't fit as evidence suggesting it was never in the right location, she just defensively barked "What do you mean it doesn't fit?" I didn't even get to explain why that was relevant. Objective review-- Other that incidence the store is ok. Not the most spacious CVS and can sometimes be short staffed when large groups of people show up all at once, but has a pretty comprehensive selection with a lower level. read more

I barely write review but I am so frustrated with this place. I gave them my prescription and the trainee was handling it in the pharmacy, she took long time to process it and i had to go. I told her that i would like to get the medication near my apt so that she can transfer it. she said it was transferred and ready. I went to cvs near my apt and they said they dont have the prescription or the access. Had to come all the way back to westwood to get my medicine. Automated calls to pharmacy for prescription refills are not recorded or just simply ignored. My recent experience of using their automated calls on a Friday morning for a refill of an antibiotic was "not recorded" and was told personally that I have to wait the next Monday so they can call my doctor. Monday came, Tuesday came and the Pharmacy clerk claimed that indeed they faxed a request to my doctor but they have not received a reply but when I called my doctor on Wednesday at 10am, their office informed me that there was no fax received from CVS but they will fax my prescription as soon as they receive the fax request from CVS and I should be getting this by 2pm. Wednesday but it was still not ready. Thursday , I went to obtain my prescription, and Golda, the pharmacist looked at her computer and told me that it was due for refill the next day. but when I asked why, since I had been waiting for this RX since Friday, she said it will be another thirty minutes before it can be filled. Thirty minutes later she calls me by the wrong name and proceeded to tell me that she needed to call my doctor because i might not know that this ointment might get inside my ears and she needed to verify with the doctor. I told her that I know this medication.,and I have used it and I know how to use it, but she refused to give this to me until she talked to my doctor. I waited for another twenty minutes while she supposedly was calling my doctor and instead of informing me what transpired with her call, I noticed that she was serving other customers. This pharmacist needs to be replaced and the store manager of the pharmacy needs to have some retraining regarding the automated phone calls and following through with patient requests. Thumbs down on the type of service that this CVS branch makes. Thank goodness their are other CVS branches I can go to. read more

CVS PHOTOS, not pharmacy. If I could give a zero, I would. I had the worst experience while taking a passport photo today. 2 girls (one who had her hair dyed pink or purple) and a man were being very passive-aggressive and rude. I was just trying to take my picture but they were being very impatient, rude, and told me if I wanted two photos that I needed to buy 2 flash drives since each flash drive only holds one photo... Can someone verify this, I just called FedEx and they told me their USB can hold more than one phot. read more

I have never had any issues at this CVS location until today. Right when I walked in, a homeless woman (who was unmasked with a mild cough) began following me around the store and stood uncomfortably in my presence while I was on the phone waiting in line for a prescription. She kept trying to talk over me, making rude remarks and calling me names before walking away. I then informed the pharmacist, who said that there was nothing he could do other than tell the woman she was not allowed to loiter in the pharmacy area. I uncomfortably continued my shopping, constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure she wouldn't continue to bother me. When I went to the upstairs register to pay for my remaining items, I informed another CVS employee, who told me that they weren't allowed to kick customers out, that they could only call Westwood security if need be. Three women standing in line overheard my conversation with the employee and offered to walk me to my car, which I gladly accepted. It was clear to me after this incident that this CVS location does not prioritize customers' safety. I'm switching pharmacies. read more

I can kindof understand that real estate is at a premium in this part of town, and that affects the prices retailers have to charge. But when I walk in and see an item that I know for a fact sells for under $2 at a lot of places for nearly $4, it's time to walk out and never return. read more

I miss Super Drugs. Remember that old pharmacy that used to be on the corner of Ohio and Westwood Blvd? I really miss them. Such a loss to the neighborhood. But they transferred my prescriptions here so this is where I'm stuck having to go for now. It beats the one in Westwood because at least there's parking in back and it's close to my pet store and vet so I can do several errands at once. I like the variety of things they have, especially the seasonal merchandise, and it's convenient that they carry some market basics, which saves me time if I can't make it to a grocery store, but you'll never find anyone on the floor to help you and that, in my humble opinion is a major drawback. read more

SUPERVISOR: approaches counter and punches in some numbers, scans item, and cancels previous transaction. HIM: "okay, let me start over..." ME/HER: /sigh of displeasure\ HIM: "okay, that'll be $20.xx" ME: "umm, you forgot to enter my CVS card" HIM: "oh, i'm sorry" HER: "here, do you need a CVS card?" ME: now annoyed at woman, "no, we got it, thanks" HER: "fine, can you just please hurry up?" ME: ignoring lady, and tempted to purposely be a douche and take my sweet time. Not only are they severely understaffed, the employees are plain rude and unhelpful. Had my doctor call in my prescription before they opened, an hour and 15 minute after they opened, they have not checked the voicemails. I patiently waited on hold and they found it, they got my information down including my phone number. 4 hours later when I called to find out how I would find out when it's ready I was told that I am not eligible for it for 4 more days, when I asked why I was not notified the pharmacy tech argued with me, that she did indeed call but I left my home number - I don't have a home number - I told her there was no voicemail, she claimed it was full, there are no voicemails in my voicemail box. I would not recommend to use this store the rite aid a block down is cheaper and the pharmacy personal is much friendlier. read more

This is the worst CVS I've ever been to. The products and everything is great. Except the deodorants because they seem to always be used. However, the customer service is HORRIBLE! There is always a 6+ people long line with only one cashier working. This store is always understaffed or someone is doing nothing while there is only one cashier working and working very slowly.. I go to this cvs all the time because it is conveniently on westwood, but I'd much rather go to rite aid a block away because of the long lines and no cashiers. read more

Quality of service at this CVS has drastically improved over the years. The pharmacy is super efficient, even though sometimes the wait can be long. They never screwed up my prescriptions like other cvs and Walgreens in the area. They also validate parking if you are picking up your prescription. read more

Phone service due to understaffing. Cvs needs a call center where all prescription issues can be resolved. It's refi lupus for a national company to force a customer of one state to not be able to talk to anyone about a prescription. My case is Rx on FL auto fill blocks Ca refill. I was on hold multiple times for 20-30 minutes when I hung up. Insurance gets confusing. Why can not a Med be put back in FL and be filled in CA. Because the phones were busy I drove to MDR CVS. Clearly understaffed. Printer out of ink a pharmacist had to take time to replace ink in midst of waiting on numerous unhappy customers. Clearly a sub-optimal situation. But they have our medications. So where do we go. read more

Probably the most incompetent pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. Felicia specifically is incredibly rude, and they never process medications correctly. I cannot even count the number of times I have had to call them because they don't process my refills in time or they don't follow through with doctors, insurance companies, etc. I have had far too many issues with them, and I highly recommend taking your pharmacy needs elsewhere. read more

OMG. This is for the mean pharmacist lady. She is so bitchy. I waited for 5 minutes at the counter when there was no one there. She was probably thinking which was fine, but still... Then she came up, typed in insurance, it didn't work...ok. Decided to give me a mini-lecture and told me it was $400 with insurance. Ok... Then I called in the next day to ask about another prescription and talked to a guy who seemed nice. Then had my doctor call in another prescription. She told my doctor that I called in earlier to complain. WTF? Why is she complaining about another customer to the physician? Just get the information and do your job. Crazy pharmacist lady. Always a long wait for prescriptions even when doctor has phoned/faxed in. That's a problem when you're sick or have a sick child with you. The CVS system also defaults to generic prescriptions that is not always the most cost effective. It's wise to ask about brand versus generic and evaluate for yourself. Generic Prilosec was $255.00 while brand was less than $50. Go figure. I would not have known if I hadn't have declined to purchase because it was not in my budget. On a whim, I asked the pharmacy tech to check brand price. CVS has the ability to default to generic so they should have the capability to compare cost and offer best price as an option to their customers. English is a second language for some of the pharmacist and communication over the phone can be problematic. read more
