Four stars for customer service! I ordered a photo book online and received an email that it was ready for pick up. I walked over and found that it was not ready and that there were too many photos to even assemble the book with the size stapler they had. Lupe went above and beyond to ensure my photos fit by locating the right size tool for the job (from next door) and didn't charge me since there was a wait. I love the book. Pretty clean, sizeable, and friendly (especially compared to the Hollywood CVS). Always seem to be in stock of the popular items I need. Having a corner bakery next door gives it another half star. read more

When it comes to drug stores, CVS is usually not my first choice. What turns me off more than their weird/old style carpeting is the wait/line, which customers of this store invariably suffer from. I went today just to grab a bottle of lotion (which wasn't cheap, but drugstore prices usually aren't the best anyway), and during the time I waited I managed to shop around online to find better prices before FINALLY it was my turn. I look around and see that 10 more people have filed in line, and despite the permeating grumpiness that everybody was clearly exuding about having to wait, there was still just the one lonely clerk up front helping people check out. Honestly, Rite Aid is a quarter of a block away... I don't mind the walk for a little better service. read more

The store is fine in terms of organization (dunno what everyone is complaining about) and product availability. The layout is not confusing; I think many people just don't realize that there's a downstairs. I go there for cheap bathroom: shampoo, conditioner, CVS brand Sensodyne, floss, shaving cream, etc. I've found durable folders with fun patterns on them for super-cheap (downstairs, far corner), marked down because of miniscule marks on them, and a cheap day planner. And one time they had detergent insanely cheap ($1.50 for a 45 oz container) and I stocked up. Also good for superglue, ant traps, and other odds &ends. I use the pharmacy on a regular basis as well and have no complaints. (Although I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why, *every* time, they initially tell me that I don't exist in their records, until I tell them to try again, at which point I magically appear in the records...) They're always faster than they say they will be in filling prescriptions, and they're friendly and professional. Two reasons to knock it down to 3 stars though: 1. There's no parking lot *and* they let the line get 10-12 people long, and the cashiers *never* pick up the pace. Due to the lack of a parking lot, it's impossible for me to drive myself there, so when I don't feel up to riding my bike I have to have a friend drop me off and then circle the block waiting for me to finish. There's a place nearby where you can park for 15 minutes for free, but 15 minutes is not enough time due to the crazy long lines and slow cashiers. -- UPDATE: With the new self check-out registers, things are much better, so I upped the review a star. 2. The homeless people outside it. Generally, I defend homeless people. I've spent nights bumming it and between weather issues & fearing the police even when you're doing nothing wrong, it SUCKS. Really. But I despise the guys outside of CVS. I mainly go by bike, and the entire time I'm chaining up my bike, it's "Hey lady! Hey lady! Hey lady! Hey lady! Hey lady!" and worse. The CVS employees don't (or perhaps legally cannot) shoo them away even if you ask for their help. - UPDATE: The sexual harassers have left. Yay! There are still homeless people around there, men and women who ask for change, but they're decent human beings. read more

Some old CVS. This is my pharmacy for UCLA so I go here whenever I need drugs. Two floors is nice. Selection is average but whatever.

SO SLOW.... But convenient and occasionally easy. Very nice and young staff but maybe a little two young.

Every CVS I've been to is understaffed. That's just the way they are. If you can get past that and be willing to wait during busy hours, the convenient location and friendly staff (who seem to remember a lot of their customers' names) make up for it. read more

Absolute WORST CVS location I have EVER been to ! If I could I'd leave ZERO stars.. That is how much I HATE this place. Everytime I come here there's always a HUGE line.. And it's not because the pharmacy is understaffed (there's always 3 or 4 people working in there) but because they're RUDE, slow, and plain old INCOMPETENT. My most recent experience here involving one of the INCOMPETENT employees who refused to give me my prescription because the "pharmacist wasn't going to be back for 45 minutes" and she continued to make BS excuses and eventually tried to force the GENERIC prescription on me when numerous times I've told them that I had a bad reaction to the generic pill and was almost hospitalized!!! This employee (a tall, darker skinned, dark haired woman) gave me the RUN AROUND and blamed my INSURANCE for only covering the generic pill when in fact she PURPOSELY entered an override code of a bunch of 8's in sequence to force the generic on me. The employees here are AWFUL EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS, they do not care about the customers and will go to any length not to help out. I will NEVER go to this location again.. The CVS pharmacy in my hometown in Aliso Viejo was able to fulfill my prescription within less than FIVE MINS! CVS WESTWOOD IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. read more

I come in on Thursday to pick up a prescription. They are out of it. They tell me to come back tomorrow. I come in the next day and they don't have it STILL. They say to come in on MONDAY. I try to transfer my prescription and they have to play the "have the other pharmacy call us" bullshit game. read more

I really like the pharmacy people, they tend to be personable and intelligent and do what's right for the customer. Much better than some of the other CVS stores in the area. Usually a fast & efficient trip to the pharmacy counter & out. read more

They have horrible service. I went in to get a money gram to pay rent. She advised me to get one money order than two. She put it in my name and I specifically told her it was for rent. Went to go pay rent they cannot cash it because it's in my name. I am not from this country I didn't know. Also, she was a manager! read more

Okay I hope no one out there judges me for this review but this CVS loses some points when I walk in to discover that they don't sell alcohol. I understand it since they're right next to a university with thousands of underage students but CVS is my go to spot for booze! You honestly don't get better prices than here. Other than that, pretty standard CVS. Although the aisles are packed close together and the place gets pretty busy due to its location. read more

CVS, you always confuse the crap out of me...I inevitably end up wandering around aimlessly on the upper level looking for tampons or other "girlie" type products that I intuitively think must be located SOMEWHERE near the other girlie products such as makeup, nail polish and hair care...but no, tampons are downstairs! If I was still weird about such things as monthly female "issues" I might hate that I have to trudge up the stairs carrying such embarrassing booty. At least your gummy bears and gummy worms are usually on sale for 88 cents a bag. Oh and don't think I didn't notice that you charge more for cigarettes than other locations...such as ohhh the one on Sepulveda (which is much nicer and all on one level FYI)...that's Westwood for you though, eh? It's well known that the Ralph's in the area charges more for things but I never thought you'd betray me in the same way CVS! And you didn't even have my Marlboro Menthol Light 100s...so I had to go with just plain ol' Marlboro Menthol 100s and burn up my trachea and lungs. Just one last rant: who sells cigarettes but doesn't have any matches??? Actually, I don't blame you CVS, I blame the new cashier guy who made some comment to me that my lame attempt at a joke "would never convince me to try a cigarette, nope, never gonna happen"...I'm 99% sure he just didn't want to give me the means to enjoy my sticks of death....hater. read more

The medication that I got had a broken seal, a broken exterior box, and the ointment tube looked used. Thankfully I was paying close attention when I got it out of the bag, otherwise I could've used defective product and who knows what the consequences for that would've been. When I called CVS in order to inquire about this, I was put on hold for 20 minutes, the person that picked up was completely nonchalant about my situation and just told me to bring back to them the defective medication. There was no apology whatsoever at that point nor when I took the medication back and waited for other 20 minuets in line to get it exchanged. read more

The Pharmacy at this CVS SUCKS! I used the automated system to refill a prescription. When I called 24 hours later, they said they were waiting to hear from my doctor. CVS never called my doctor. 2 days later I am still waiting for them to fill my Rx. Go somewhere else if you can! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! read more

CVS West wood---the WORST!!! It has the worst line during lunch hour everyday, worst staff especially the girl with long dark hair, she's the one in-charge of the photo booth who's hardly there & doesn't even know what customer relations mean, worst customer service including the manager who never showed up after being paged for 5 minutes (she's probably hiding behind the shelves so I can't complain to her), the worst photo service (a nightmare especially if you're trying to make a CD copy). I finally gave up when all I got was a message from the machine that CD write failed-Error after 4 attempts... The male employee even had the nerve to tell me to just use my home computer for copying CD, he even said, it's what it is for! Hello, I thought I could do it faster with your store...had I known that I would waste my whole lunch break trying to make a CD copy with your ugly antiquated photo machines, I would have just patiently waited until my computer got fixed. You guys could have at least have the courtesy to check your machines if they're still working properly. OMG, my blood pressure went up the roof when I left CVS! I'm surprise (really!) that this store is still open...it will probably be out of business soon especially with the Rite Aid & the new Target store just being around the corner. I HATE THIS CVS. First of all, the employees do not seem friendly at all. I passed one by and she gave me this attitude like I was in her way. There is always a long line because there's always one register open at a time. One instance when another employee opened another register, she did so slowly with a mad look on her face. And if I recall correctly, she checked her cell phone first before actually opening the register. And since it's in Westwood, parking sucks. No me gusta. read more

You will wait 20-30 minutes on hold, and will then likely get cut off. And have to call back. I had two phones in my hands on hold and despite that, it took me 25 mins to speak to a human. Problem: they have a bit of a monopoly but RiteAid is close by. Going there next time.... read more

Very poor customer service. We were going in for something as simple as fingernail clippers and the staff was doing inventory or re-doing the price tags on the racks. There were three of them all huddled around the fingernail clippers and they wouldn't move out of the way, just continued to gossip about co-workers and things and completely ignore us. We reached between them and at one point my wife even had to completely reach around one of the women and they were completely oblivious, just kind of gave my wife a look that she was in their way for their super important re-stickering work. read more

This CVS is a nightmare. First of all, I have no idea how they stay in business without a parking lot. I believe you can get 10 minutes validated if you are picking up a prescription, but otherwise I suppose the hobos and students in Westwood are the main patrons. Maybe because it's split level, it seems like they have half as many employees as they need. The choice of items on each level is completely odd and confusing, and i've spent many a times walking up and down the stairs trying to find something as unremarkable as Q-tips (lower level, back corner if it helps). I feel bad dissing the pharmacy as Angel, the main pharmacist, knows me now and has been super helpful, but its really the fault of the management for making one or two people manage the phone calls, consults, drop offs, and pick ups on busy days. My best experiences with the pharmacies in Westwood have actually been at Ralphs- they always have at least 4 or 5 people working, 2 hour validated parking, are open 24 hours, and you can do your grocery shopping while you're there! read more

Best CVS/pharmacy in many miles radius around, personally it's the best I've been to in LA so far. Not so large, nothing special about it, BUT it's always packed with ALL the BEST options that could ever be available at any CVS store anywhere, and if it's not here then CVS most probably doesn't sell that item basically. I exclusively come in here when I'm searching for specific items and wanna get them. There's a Rightaid walking distance from where I live and there's a close by different CVS that I go to both of them for basic items, but when my "wanna get" requests pile up I come here. 2 floors, cozy ambience somehow, helpful staff, downstairs is the pharmacy, oral care, house products and stuff, and the ground floor is where everything else is. Car parking of course can be an extreme hustle esp during the day and often too during night, just as the case with the majority of other businesses in the village. read more

Wow, this place has the weirdest employees. One tells you to get a raincheck for an out of stock sale item, another tells you he won't give you a raincheck because he doesn't know where the raincheck papers are. Amazing service. And by "Amazing" I mean "Crappy, ridiculous and rude." One particular employee appears to be slow and I always feel like he's staring at me when I walk around the store. The lines are usually long and I can never find items in the 2 randomly arranged floors. The Wellworth one is much better and just a couple blocks away. read more

Absolutely awesome place. the workers are friendly and very helpful. i have actually found myself bonding with some of the employees! they are so funny and friendly. the location is right in the village which is convenient, and there is almost always parking right in front of the place. Sometimes there are creepy homeless people on drugs who will bark at you or get in your way which can make you feel uncomfortable. for some reason they enjoy to hang around right on the side of this cvs. good luck walking there but once you're inside you're all good! read more

I attempted to switch my prescriptions from one LA location to this one. After calling and speaking with Elena (mgr) she advised me that she needed to call my doctor for a refill. I said ok and waited a day. I called the next day and was told also by Elena that they called and were awaiting my doctor's reply. I then called on Saturday and was told the same. I then asked what the contact details were, and was given the wrong doctors information! I corrected the information. I called now today, two days later and the young man who answered told me he did not have me in his system. After spelling my name several times he finally found me and said that they needed to call my doctor, and when asked why this hadn't been done and what doctor he had he said, once again, the incorrect prior doctor's info and that there were no notes to even call this doctor. There was no apology for the confusion, no assistance, just a "I can do it now" and lack of care. It is as though they want you to not have your medicine. When I told the young man that this is unacceptable, he yelled at me to not be rude and hung up the phone on me. I called him back and he simply placed me on hold....until they closed. Clearly I will never use this location any further, and as a customer service professional the management here (above our lovely Elena) should retrain all staff and raise the bar...a lot. read more
