Even though my doctor specified a large size bottle for my eye drop, the pharmacist decided to change it to 3 tiny bottles that I had previously asked them not to do. The small bottles are SO SMALL that I can't squeeze them to get the drops out. I picked the prescription up at the drive thru and pulled ahead because there was a car behind me. I looked in the bag and saw 3 boxes. Without opening any of the boxes I drove back around the building and said I couldn't manage these teeny bottles. They said they couldn't take them back even though the boxes weren't open and they had altered the way the prescription was written. It was suggested that I hire a home nurse to come twice a day for 3 months to administer the drops since I couldn't handle the bottles they substituted for what had been ordered. This review is related specifically to the folks in the pharmacy at the CVS on Broadway in Methuen. They are truly a horrible group of people (with a few exceptions). The most arrogant and hostile individual is the pharmacist herself. I don't know her name, but she is blonde. The attitude of the people toward their customers is horrendous. You are greeted with scowls each time you approach the counter. They do everything in their power to try to make you feel that they are doing you a favor by helping you get your medications. The pharmacy is in stark contrast to the rest of the store. Everyone else in the store could not be more helpful or kind. read more

This review relates specifically to CVS at 233 Broadway in Methuen. The individual that warrants this review is RuthAnn (a manager). I entered the CVS in order to purchase an Amazon gift card as a birthday gift. I could not find it in the card display area. I asked whether they carried the card. The response I received was from Ruth Ann. She said that what they had was what is in the display. I pointed out that the display was rather large and asked again whether they carried Amazon gift cards because I could not find it. She did not respond. She was sitting in an area next to the checkout area. She could not be bothered to even stand. I could hear her voice. I walked over and found her seated and (apparently) doing nothing. I asked if she was the manager and she answered in the affirmative. When I went to the check out area, I saw the Amazon Cards. It was too late, because I had already purchased an American Express gift card. I was somewhat irate and asked the clerk the name of the manager that I spoke to. She said it was Ruth Ann. RuthAnn's rudeness and outright indifference should not be acceptable for any employee of CVS (let alone a manager). It is my hope that CVS addresses the situation and takes some interest in the behavior of one of their representatives. read more

I have never dealt with such stubborn people! the pharmacy keeps putting my prescriptions on autorefill even after I have requested they take them off. I am told they are not on autorefill, then I get phone calls and texts saying my prescriptions are ready. SO frustrating!! I never had this trouble with the pharmacy at Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, because of the insurance I have, I must use CVS pharmacy. read more

Horrible pharmacy. Went in one day looking for sterile saline for flushing my wife's diabetic foot ulcers (mrsa) and the pharmacist looks over at me after the tech asked her about the saline and she looks at me and says "that needs a prescription! I'm not selling that to you!" Well, it's salt water, sweetheart. It's not a drug and because of that pharmacy, my wife's foot infection got worse and she was hospitalized. It was a weekend, the medical supply company never delivered her supplies and I had to go looking. Finally got it AFTER the weekend, but it was too late by the time her next appointment came around. If you had ANY sort of mind for medicine you'd know that sort of thing. Which means you seriously do NOT belong in that industry. At all. If your pharmacists don't know that salt water, sterile for medical use, isn't a controlled substance, then you might want to fire her. She's bad for your company. read more

Absolutely the worst telephone response I've ever witnessed! I received a call from CVS that I should contact their pharmacy. I did but what I got was a recording stating that someone will be respond shortly because they are servicing other customers...I can understand that and have no issues with it but after hanging on the phone for 10 mins as well as listening to the cvs message repeating itself every 30 secs-I hung up..I tried again within a few hours hanging on the line for 8 mins and as before got the same negative treatment so I hung up again. I went to Methuen to buy some fitness equipment from craigslist, and I was thrilled to find a CVS nearby to pick up some necessities. The store is well organized, clean, and they had a lot of great sales. The clerks and cashiers were all very hardworking, friendly, and helpful if you need them. I have a prescription for a life sustaining respiratory medication and the copay is more than $350. I was able to obtain a discount coupon from the manufacturer. I called CVS to find out what my cost would be with the coupon. If the cost was still high I would not be able to pay for this medication. The pharmacist refused to check the cost over the phone because " it would take too long" and said I had to go there with the coupon. I am currently unable to leave my house, so because of this lazy pharnacist I have to go with out my medication. This is poor practice and she should have her license suspended . My motto....No prescription should take 5 visits to fill. After this visit, I boycotted these guys and exclusively use Rite Aid. I pulled up to the building and there was a lot of water in the lot from flooding, so the drive through was the only thing available. 1. 10:00AM Pull up and ask for the script that was called in from a 8:30AM Doctors appointment and the pharm-tech says they did not recieve the prescription yet, come back in half an hour. I call my Dr. and confirm that the script was emailed over at 9:00AM to this CVS 2. 10:30AM Pull up and ask for the script and the same pharm-tech says they have not recieved it yet. When confronted with the fact that it was sent over an hour before she claims, sometimes these things take 2 or 3 hours to go through the system, come back at lunch time. 3. 12:00PM Pull up and again, ask for the prescription and I'm told they don't have my insurance information on file. I tell them, that's odd as I have filled prescriptions here with the same insurance. I give them the card and they tell me it will be 15 min to process everything, pull around and come back. 4. 12:15PM I pull up and ask for the script and am told it is $185 dollars. I say, "that's way too expensive and my insurance should cover most of it" The pharm-tech tells me, "your insurance doesn't apply to this because you haven't met your deductable yet." We debate for a minute over the way my insurance works, and then I tell them, "look, I have picked up this same prescription at Rite Aid down the street and it is not $185, I need to call my insurance company and figure this out." I call my insurance provider and I have a co-insurance of $40 on the script, but $185 is the full price with no insurance whatsoever.....in fact, they have no record of any prescription I have had filled at the CVS ever. Turns out, CVS had just been charging me the full price and never using my insurance which is why they didn't have it on file even though I had filled multiple prescriptions there. 5. 1:30PM I pull up one final time and explain that even though insurance doensn't cover the entrie prescription, they need to run it through so that the amount I pay goes toward my yearly deductable. Pharm-tech is confused and gets a senior pharm-tech who is confused and gets the phamacist who is confused and tells me they can't understand what I'm saying and that I will have to come back when the flooding subsides to talk in more depth about this, but for now I can't tie up the drive through asking questions. I contacted the CVS help online folks and got a call back a day later with the standard "this is unacceptable..." etc routine. At the end of the phone call the guy asked if there was anything he could do. My answer was, "I called over when I left the drive through to my Dr.,had them send the script to Rite Aid and by the time I grabbed a coffee and got to the other side of Methuen, it was ready and it was $40." "The only thing you can do is figure out why they can get it right in 15 minutes and you take 3 hours and 5 trips and still don't understand what's wrong." read more

CVS has got a new store much large, brighter, and more stock.There is more parking. The only thing that has not changed in the staff, They are as friendly and helpful as they ever were. read more

I just started coming to this location..I usually go on swan street but I like to change it up once in awhile. The few times I've gone I can definitely say the girls at the cashier have made me laugh (in a good way) I always feel like it's a perfect one on one customer service and the fact they can joke after long late night shifts is amazing! I haven't really used the pharmacy but I'm sure it's just as good as any other one read more

Full of morons. Nothing is ready when it should be. Multiple times I have had to return and get something fixed. Staff is poorly trained at best, incompetent at worst. After my latest disaster, I have started going to Progressive Pharmacy Solutions on haverhill st in methuen. read more
