CVS Pharmacy - Only 13 people in line! Ugh - Drugstores Near Me - New Milford, Connecticut

I'm not sure how to describe just how bad this pharmacy has become within the word limits of this review. The only way to contact them is to go in person - they no longer accept phone calls and they don't return texts - which they say is the only way to contact them. This would be fine if they didn't mess up so consistently. Really, really consistently. There is simply no excuse for making so many errors. I know they are understaffed, but that doesn't make carelessness acceptable. read more

This CVS is a very inefficient and non customer friendly pharmacy. I no longer trust them to fill prescriptions for me. I recently had a script that was called over to them and the cvs app indicated there was a problem with it and to reach out to them. Over the course of 2 days I left 3 VM messages and sent 4 requests for information via the app. No response. I finally had to call the main customer service number at CVS who called the store directly and took care of the issue. I never received any communication from the store itself. On another occasion, I waited in the drive through lane for about 10 minutes and when I pulled up to window they said they were now closed and I had to come into the store. I swallowed my frustration, parked, and went into the store where the gate was across the pharmacy as they were closed for lunch. I had to wait until they returned and took my place in line to wait again to pick up. Never again. In addition to losing my family's pharmacy business, I will also not be making any purchases in the store. All of these problems are compounded by the fact that you cannot reach a human being EVER by phone, they have lost prescriptions and told me their app is wrong at times. This location is grossly understaffed! Prescriptions take a week or more to fill, they have no means of notifying customers their scripts are delayed because they are overwhelmed with orders. The app is absolutely USELESS to check on order status because they haven't even worked in the order. I have an email from 8 days ago indicating the refill was received but that is all. Customers have to call to ask them to go to the queue to get the script to fill. I've been waiting on hold to do just that for 15 mins while I write this review. My business is going elsewhere after this miserable experience. Avoid this location as if it is a bioweapon lab, nothing ever get out of there. read more

Today I went in to pick up a prescription. it's a very expensive medication. I had a drug discount card. I asked to check if the card was valid to use. the person was extremely rude. she claimed the medication was 12000 dollars and I was getting it at a discount already. I said ok then I'll pay the co pay! she then rudly said I had to wait on a long line again to pay since she had to te key the medication back in the system. there were 10 people on line which I had already waited. she would not service me. this is the worst pharmacy in ct for service and any kind of kindness. Sometimes it takes more than a week to get a prescription filled. No explanation, just slow. I HATE that it's nearly impossible to actually speak to a human being at the pharmacy. New Milford, CT location not good! Money Order machine not working for a while and no one has come to fix it?! Prescription called in 24hrs prior and when I go to pick it up, staff says they are 2-days behind TYPICALLY?! It's no wonder they are closing 900 stores since 2021. I sometimes stop in to get photos printed or grab a missing item. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I will never use the pharmacy here again. Nine years ago, when my daughter was born, we got a prescription from here. They filled a prescription incorrectly by almost triple. Our doctor said that if we had given the dose to the newborn, the baby could have died. We went back to the pharmacist and they apologized for the mistake, however I never forgot. CVS is probably the largest pharmacy in New Milford. My experiences have ranged from "meh" downwards. Most particularly, the pharmacy itself seems to be staffed with poorly trained people at every level. But the crowning glory is that the pharmacy closes for lunch in the middle of the day. Bear in mind that this is (again) probably the largest and busiest pharmacy in town. One would think that they would be able to remain open during normal business hours...perhaps rotate lunch times for staff? Banks manage it... Note that I am NOT complaining about the non-pharmacy staff, who have been universally pleasant and helpful, and who do seem to manage without an enforced lunch break. Understaffed so employees are overworked and rude. For a pharmacy this close to the hospital the hours are not good. Basically - don't get sick between 8pm and 8am, 10am on Saturday & Sunday. The pharmacy opens at 8am days when both working parents are at work and 10am on weekends when people try to get errands done early and enjoy much needed time off. The drive-thru closes at lunch, so can't stop by then either. Also, the drive-thru will be closed at randoms other than the posted lunch hour. This store is a poor reflection on the CVS franchise. read more

Pharmacy staff at NM is generally nice when you can reach them, but they seem to be understaffed and don't pick up phone, and you're on perpetual hold ! (Staff members admit that they don't answer the pharmacy phone during the day when busy anymore...) They've also become slower at filling scripts. The Danbury location on Padanaram Rd is even worse!. Last night my husband suffered a terrible fall and was taken by ambulance to NEW Milford Hospital. Cleared for release after multiple X-rays and CAT-scan, they called in a prescription to CVS for the pain killers he would assuredly need to get him through the night. The Attending Doc thoughtfully checked on pharmacy hours to be sure it wasn't too late. Has it been , he would have used the hospital pharmacy. Well, the website was wrong. I went to the pharmacy directly from the hospital and they were helping a customer finish up his transaction at 8:05. A man was closing the metal curtain. I explained my urgency and he said only, " There's nothing I can do. We close at 8." Yes, there is something you can do- behave like a compassionate human being! The registers were still open and staff was still there. Five minutes late...misleading hours for operation...no compassion. I hope they enjoyed their evening. We did not. I will NEVER go the that pharmacy ever again. Our CVS in Brookfield would never have refused service. Few people would have. read more

Understaffed pharmacy and limited hours (10am on Saturday!) - simple prescriptions take days to fill. "Expedited" orders still take 25 minutes. They can be rude although some are nice and doing their best. This location needs to be managed a lot better. Drive through regularly has 10 cars lined up or is closed. I returned six times over 4 days to get a simple refill. Try to find an alternate if possible! read more

They actually hung up on me when I was asking why they had called me that my prescription was ready and then, when my husband went to pick it up - nothing was there. Nick, who hang up on me claimed he was the head pharmacist. I find it hard to believe that someone so incredibly unprofessional would even be employed, let alone in a place that is dealing with medications. One star is one too many for this place. read more

Once again a bad experience on so many levels: 1. Robocall telling me my prescription was in 2. On pick up customer service person tells me it won't be in until tomorrow 3. When I asked to speak to the manager A***, she told me it might or might not me in two or three days later -- NOT TOMORROW, and when I asked what I could do or how I might get my prescription elsewhere, she said "you can try to drive to one of our other stores." When I said "can you confirm which other store has it?" she walked away. This is only one of a series of unpleasant experiences I have had with CVS. Picture it: Litchfield County, 2017. The weather reports promised rain and thunder, flooding from the skies. The roads would run clear with water overflowing from every possible avenue. Imagine my surprise when I awoke to find clear, near-cloudless blue skies. I was so taken aback, I began my way to the Elephant's Trunk without bringing my sunscreen. Panic sets in around New Preston. What do I do? Do I get burned for the third weekend in a row? Must I suffer through another Monday of smiling blandly when another co-worker jokes, "Did you get some sun this weekend?" Har. De. Har. Har. Not wanting to brave the traffic going the Wal-Mart way, I resigned myself to becoming a lobster and enduring cheesey jokes at my expense when I remembered, "CVS is on the way!" Located closer to the hospital in New Milford than the rest of the retail businesses, it's a relatively easy in and out and allows for easy access to back roads. (And if you don't know about back roads, stop looking now. Stick to the main roads, and out of my way) The selection, at least in sun care, was excellent albeit overpriced like every CVS. I really love the cool "healthy" snack station by the register with yogurt and cheese. I didn't notice any overt rudeness by the cashiers, rather they seemed very conscientious about keeping the line moving. Worst experience I've EVER HAD with ANY pharmacy. It was a holiday weekend and was on the phone with them 3 separate times during the week to make sure that I would have my Father's heart medication filled o and that Saturday. So I'm told yes it's all set being filled now only to be called 5 minutes later while in my car that they were terribly sorry but they were out of stock. It's BS. I love this CVS!! The employees are so helpful and friendly!! I can always find what I need. Sometimes I go in just for the bathroom and end up shopping for some things. If you need a prescription there is typically a line though. Otherwise great place. And I personally am happy CVS doesn't sell cigarettes anymore. read more

The pharmacy staff at the store is perhaps the rudest and least customer-focused of any pharmacy I have ever used. One night, about a year ago, they decided to close the pharmacy five minutes early (there were no weather or other issues; it had just been slow and they decided to shut it down). I had an important prescription to pick up and had been working late. They refused to reopen the pharmacy-still prior to their 9 PM stated close time - to fill my prescription (already bagged and ready to go). They also will not lift a finger to assist customers with special needs. I needed to drop off a prescription for a relative before leaving town and they refused to take the prescription because it was not eligible to be refilled yet. How hard is it to take the prescription, put it in the system and then notify us when the scrip is actually filled? Now I'm going to need to find somebody else who can drop off the prescription while I am away. We use a CVS from time to time in an adjoining town and our experience is 100% better. If it were as conveniently located for me as the New Milford store, there is no question which one I would be going to. I agree with the other reviewers here: the non-pharmacy staff are very kind and helpful (for the most part). This really seems to be a personnel and leadership issue with the pharmacy organization in the store. CVS really needs to look into changing the pharmacy personnel out of this facility. read more

If I could give zero Stars I would. The head pharmacist at this store is probably the worst I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. He has a God complex, just not care about a patient's well-being. He refuses to fill prescriptions until you have no medication in the house, I am chronically ill trying to live my life, and he is playing God's behind a counter holding my medication hostage. Unfortunately most chain pharmacies are the same. To what degree depends on the pharmacist this one is particularly bad. It's not about patient care it's about bottom line. Which is why my husband drives an hour away to get away from the chain Pharmacy. It's sad but true like we can afford the time and money for him to do so on a regular basis. The Pharmacy is horrible. No one does Thor job correctly. I am wheelchair bound and ordered my prescriptions through CVS in New Milford. The automated system tells you your prescription will be ready on a specific date. Guess what I drove myself there twice the date it was suppose to be filled only to find out my order was not there I was told to come back the next day and again no order was ready. It is a automatic refill each month. How can they not have the medicine you were told would be ready. Will definitely be writing a letter to the corporate office about this and changing pharmacies. I went to CVS on Saturday October 1st, 3016 around 8:30 AM to buy two items, one of the items was ChapStick. I wanted to use my 20%, 25% and/or $2.00 coupon. I grabbed both items and proceeded to go to the checkout. The cashier scanned my card and my items, told me my total. I told him that I have coupons I wanted to use. He proceeded to tell me that the items I picked are on sale and I couldn't use my coupons. I took the items brought them back to where I got them, I looked to see the lactaid pills were in fact on sale, that's fine, I completely understand that I couldn't use coupons on sale items. I went to put the CVS brand ChapStick back and saw it didn't say it was on sale. I took a picture and proceeded to go back up from with just the ChapStick to re buy it. I told the cashier that it didn't state it was on sale and he said that we must've missed it. Unacceptable, how do you miss a whole wall of CVS ChapStick's? The way you do business is disgusting. this isn't the first time this has happened to me at the New Milford, CT location. I refuse to shop there, it clearly is an ongoing problem that you have yet to resolve. Until it's resolved, I won't be buying anything from your establishment. read more

They never have your prescription ready when it should be, insurance is never in their system even tho I've picked up many times, and when there is a problem you don't get notified until you are there picking up and then you have to wait again. Stay away from CVS. My husband had back surgery in August of 2018. The doctor initially prescribed a small amount of medication (10 pills) for pain. When it became obvious that more medication for pain was needed I contacted the doctor who prescribed additional medication. The pharmacist said she was "not comfortable" filling the prescription. There was no reasoning with her. I called the doctor's office. They called the pharmacy and explained that my husband needed the medication to control the pain. The pharmacist still refused to fill the prescription. The doctor's office sent the script to another pharmacy where the prescription was filled. This process took days. My husband suffered needlessly because a pharmacist thinks that she can decide who gets pain medication. read more

I really don't get what people are complaining about. If any of these people actually sat and waited for their prescription to be filled they would see how large a volume this pharmacy actually deals with. I fill several regular prescriptions here every month and have always found the staff to be courteous and efficient and let me tell you, these guys hustle. I think the complainers just have no clue what it's like to actually work in a pharmacy and they don't realize many of the issues that arise have more to do with their insurance company than the pharmacy itself. read more

I waited in the drive thru pharmacy line for about 25 minutes only to get to the window for the guy to say I have to come inside to since I'm also dropping off prescriptions. Went inside waited another 10 minutes, asked the guy at the counter why they aren't taking scripts at the window anymore and he said they still do.... the man working the drive thru effectively wasted so much of my time for meds I need by the morning.
