Concern Regarding Pharmacist Victoria -- With Acknowledgment of Her Efforts I also want to address an issue with the pharmacist, Victoria, while still acknowledging the help she provided. During the process of trying to get emergency refills, there was confusion among the staff about which medications could or couldn't be filled. After I showed mild frustration, which came from my medical situation, not anger, Victoria made a comment along the lines of: "Well, I get it... you need your medicine because if you're not happy, we're all not happy." At the time, I brushed it off, but later I realized how unprofessional and dismissive it felt, especially given my health conditions and the stress I was under. Comments like that can come across as minimizing a patient's struggle. However, I also want to be absolutely fair: Victoria did eventually work very hard to help me get the medications I needed. She went through my list, looked for what could be filled immediately, and did her best to help me avoid spending hundreds of dollars by checking GoodRx, insurance options, and other discounts. That effort was appreciated, and I want that acknowledged. My only issue is the comment, which wasn't necessary and didn't match the level of professionalism shown afterward. I hope management takes this feedback constructively. Patients dealing with mental health and chronic pain need sensitivity, especially when traveling and unexpectedly losing access to their medication. read more

This pharmacy is the worst in the tri-state area. Here is my experience: I get texts when my medicine is ready for pick-up. I go to wait in the normal 15 person line. I have patience so far. When I finally get to speak to a pharmacist, they insist nothing is there for me to pick up. This happens TWO times every month, and finally on a third attempt, someone, by the grace of God, can find my medicine. I have ongoing concerns about the operations at this CVS location, and I feel compelled to share them to encourage improvement. During my mother's recent visit, she was given an incorrect dosage for her heart medication -- something that could have put her health at risk if we had not caught it. We noticed the mistake almost immediately after leaving and returned right away, but we were told that CVS policy prevents any exchange or correction once the prescription has left the pharmacy area. This policy may make sense for tamper prevention, but it does not take into account good-faith situations where a customer has not used the medication and discovers an error within minutes. Additionally, several compliance and operational issues stood out: Required posting missing: Pennsylvania law requires the pharmacy permit to list the name of the pharmacist manager and for that permit to be displayed where the public can view it. On our visit, I did not see the pharmacist manager's name posted anywhere. When I asked, staff could not provide it. Lack of transparency: When I asked for the pharmacist's license number, I was met with resistance and no clear information. This number is part of the public record and should be readily available upon request. Cleanliness and organization: The pharmacy area appeared cluttered, with totes and inventory scattered everywhere. This is a safety and workflow concern, especially in a high-volume store. Chronic understaffing/crowding: This location is consistently crowded since nearby pharmacies closed, which puts additional strain on staff and increases the likelihood of errors. This is not the first time I have experienced medication errors at this store -- my wife has also received incorrect prescriptions here in the past and was given the same explanation. I urge CVS corporate to review this location for compliance with Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy display requirements, ensure that manager names and license information are properly posted, and consider policy adjustments for immediate prescription corrections. Patients -- especially seniors -- must be able to trust that their medications are accurate and that staff will handle issues promptly and professionally. read more

Do I have to give a whole star? We had to switch from RiteAid to CVS effective Jan 1 of this year because of insurance. To date, only one time has CVS properly filled an Rx. They have constantly filled prescriptions without our approval and way before we need them. I had to switch one prescription back to RiteAid to get a FAR better price. Most recently I used their phone system to request a refill - I was told the Rx would be ready after 1pm. I dropped by the store at 315 and was told that I was out of refills and they would need to get authorization (but the phone system said I could refill it - huh? I was also told to always expect a text when the Rx was ready. But if I hadn't stopped by, nobody was doing anything. So CVS called my doctor 3 days ago (I found out be reaching out to the doctor since CVS didn't let me know) - never did I hear whether the Rx was ready (no text - you know, the one I was told to always expect!)- I called CVS and the prescription has been waiting for me for 2 days! Just terrible at their core business - just awful. read more

I strongly advised if you can avoid this pharmacy to do so- I am in the process of writing up a report to Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). If you are on life saving medication or are in need of knowledgeable pharmacist to accurately fill medications do not trust this pharmacy. My family has had too many errors that we caught and refills are never ready on time- and the meds are out of stock and they do not notify you so that you have ample time to find another pharmacy. picked up a prescription at approx 8:30pm, on 4/12. The pharmacy employee who waited on me was not very friendly, and didn't appreciate her demeanor. I greeted her when I approached the window, but she never responded in kind. After finding my prescriptio, I said that it was prepaid. She placed the package on the desktop than abruptly pushed it towards, and in sarcastic voice said "I know". I often dread going there to pick up my prescription. They never seem to be able to locate customer prescription bags, and always seem to be frustrated and confused about completing simple tasks. Drugs and beer, what a combination! Actually I mean this in a good way. This new CVS is right next to a new Unos that specializes in amazing craft beers. So you can enjoy an adult libation while you refill your prescription. Getting back to the CVS, it's brand new and clean. It features the drive though pharmacy. It has a very nice large parking lot. Listen to this. I had taken my prescriptions from cvs during pandemic because you would have to wait over an hour in line with people getting tested. NEVER OPENED ANOTHER DRIVE UP JUST FOR PRESCRIPTIONS. So I went to Rite Aid. After a year went to this cvs because I had coupon and needed tons of stuff. All the prices from toothpaste to makeup was sky high. I come to find out the cvs corporate is calling this gouging "convenience pricing". I don't know how they train their employees here, but they all go out of their way to assist. They don't get in your face, but ask if you need help finding something. If you do, they take you right to it. If there's a problem they find the solution. If there's a line to check out, they quickly open up another register. Today I was returning something and had the emailed receipt. The girl at the register didn't know how to make the return. This is a BIG CVS right near the Uno Pizzeria in newtown Square. I usually shop at CVS or Walgreen's for cosmetic and OTC medications. This one has ample parking and is much nicer than the one in Paoli near my office. It is also a but nicer than the Aston location but not as good as the Lima/Media location which i now consider my go-to CVS. Not sure how late the pharmacy is open - many close earlier than I would prefer - especially when you have a sick kid in the middle of the night. This is a new location that just opened up near me next to the UNO chicago pizza that is also new. now i dont have to drive 15 mins to the next closest CVS. It's like your usual CVS and also has a pharmacy, drive-thru pharmacy, and 1 hr photo. It has very convenient parking and plenty of it too! I do not go to CVS that often but it's nice to know there's no close by when I need it. read more

In my opinion, this particular CVS pharmacy is awful!!! Zero stars Customer service is especially poor, updating medications on their computer simply hasn't happened. Multiple times I have been notified to pickup medications which are either at a higher/lower dose than currently prescribed. Luckly I have caught their mistake before leaving the med. with my 90 year old mother. Once leaving the store, there is no returning sed medication (which is understandable)! But now it becomes my mistake, and I am out the $$. Also, the pharmacy employees simply hang-up on me when I call to check on an automated pick-up requests, requiring me to call back to continue my request or question. This too has happened multiple times. Forget being asked..."is there anything else I can help you with?" There is no such thing as customer service at this CVS pharmacy. Today, in the wonderful world of awesome me, I was on a mission like no other....to get great quality prints at a cheap price.Exactly 4 lights from my job, I stumble across CVS, a place where I can buy beauty products, grab a quick snack and catch up on my gossip.Back to my reason for this visit, I wanted to get prints for a bulletin board I was making that welcomed new recruits.For exactly 29 cents you can get a sheet of like 6 pics! So, I only needed four printed, but the associate was very helpful, even after I couldn't work my SD card, she showed me how to bluetooth the pics straight to the printer.I'm big about time, so in less than 5 mins I was in and out, even with the misprint (that she didn't charge me for).Best part, no lines and temptation to buy cheap nothingness! The pharmacy at this CVS is mostly poorly run operation I've ever seen. Every time I go to pick up a prescription I encounter one of several issues: (1) Five hour waits for a single prescription despite expressing my inability to wait more than 30 minutes due to my demanding work schedule. (2) Pharmacy techs unwilling and unable to apply prescription insurance information, resulting in unnecessary charges that later had to be remediated (3) Pharmacy techs (specifically a guy who works here Sunday evenings) unwilling to provide a small "holdover stash" of one or two antidepressants to get me through the short periods when it takes my primary care provider extra time to fill my prescriptions, despite seeing the prescription in my medical history. (4) Downed 'systems' that cause the pharmacy to close and or pharmacists who have "accidents", causing random pharmacy closures during regular work hours. Apparently there are absolutely no backup pharmacists or I am determined to know who runs this circus of a pharmacy, who hires the clowns that are supposed to be customer service oriented, and -most importantly- IF there is nefarious activity behind the random, BUT FREQUENT "complete closures" and "system blackouts" that seem to plague this pharmacy during 2 of the 5 or 6 times I've visited . read more

I recently filled a prescription and picked it up at the drive through. When I saw the price on one of the scripts, I asked about it and why so expensive. The tech asked me to wait a minute and came back and had found a discount and applied it to the prescription so a 100 scrip was now 15 and will continue for refills. That's great service! read more

I was shorted 5 of 30 pills twice. While I thought I was running low I went in to refill the CVS told me I was too early to request a refil it was not their (CVS') problem it was the insurance company. I looked at the date I had the 1st filled and counted then realized I must have been short. I asked my Dr to request a refill when I went in to pick up, I counted my pills there at the counter AGAIN 5 short. Shocked I made it clear this was my second time I had been shorted. SCAM??? I just drove a friend from her doctor's office in Devon to the CVS in Newtown Square - the doctor had phoned her prescription in to expedite it for her as she was in pain. The drive takes about 15 to 20 minutes and we pulled in expecting her prescription to be ready. We had to wait in a small line (about 3 people) but when the couple ahead of us had numerous questions and complications, we ended up waiting 10 minutes in line (long enough for me to skim/read three magazines) even though the woman urged the salesperson to take care of the people behind her (a suggestion completely ignored by the salesperson). We finally got waited on, only to be told that the prescription would take another 15 minutes. We waited 15 minutes. Checked back at the counter and my friend was told that the prescription needed to be checked and that there were a number of other prescriptions that needed to be checked ahead of hers and that it would be a while longer. My friend needed to go to the Nova Care building a few blocks away to set up her physical therapy appointments and when she explained that the Nova Care closed in a few minutes and could the prescription be expedited, the salesperson repeated that it would take a while. We ended up leaving before the prescription ever materialized so that we could make it (just barely) to the Nova Care before they closed. I don't want to cast aspersions at the personnel's priorities in Newtown Square, but someone who has had their physician call in a prescription 20 minutes prior to their arrival should certainly receive service before the people who were phoning in, driving thru, and asking tons of questions - all while my friend was waiting for her "expedited" prescription. Awful service, insipid responses, the only good thing I can say about the personnel is that they smile a lot and present a cheerful demeanor. But I can get that AND a margarita at the UNO's next door in FAR less time! read more

Such a great CVS! Clean, wide open and spacious. Head and shoulders above the other options nearby (Rite Aid) and always willing to go an extra mile to ensure that the customer always has a pleasant experience. That goes doubly for the pharmacy staff, where they've even made sure I didn't skip my important cholesterol medicine by fronting me a few while they dealt with my doctors office on my behalf. After waiting upwards of an hour and a half at my PCP's office, it's so nice to see a friendly face at the pharmacy counter promising a wait of 15 minutes, and then being on my way in 10. This rating is for the pharmacy. The minute clinic and the front cashiers are fabulous. Went today, and the pharmacy was full of staff, some working, some not. The woman who appeared to be the manager (?) had two small children back there, then running in the store. Very unprofessional appearance and staff.
