I am always satisfied with my shopping experiences at this CVS Pharmacy location, which is why I tend to visit it once a week. On top of it being conveniently located along a route I drive regularly, the location never lets me down with having the items I usually purchase from CVS. For me, I always visit either this CVS in Oak Park or the Walmart in Forest Park because both are on my route. Out of the two, I usually choose this location when I do not have the patience to deal with the congestion of customers at Walmart, whether it be at the checkout line or just entering the parking lot itself. I never have to deal with that when visiting this CVS, so it tends to be my priority when in need of anything to assist with sleep or boost nutritional drinks. And when checking out, I am always satisfied with the service provided by the team members; they are always informative of offers listed on the receipt that will allow me to save money during future visits. If this location could do anything to improve my shopping experiences, it would be adding plastic bags attached to the self-checkout machine. Why? Because it would lead to me using it more for a quicker experience rather than waiting in line for a clerk to check me out with my items at the register. Dear CVS! Very nice CVS in a tree lined suburban area. Nice big parking lot for customers, don't park in the back lot- it's permit parking. Read signs. Very clean store; Well stocked and excellent Sale prices on many items. They had the summer items out , and signs are modern clean designs. Easy to find thing's throughout store. Cereal was on sale and many options. Gatorade on sale. Splenda 100 count, $6+ Amazon price. Awesome. Polite at checkout, Simple transaction. I definitely recommend them. I have been coming to this cvs for years I have never seen a more disrespectful pharmacist in my life. Her name is kamara Management need to get her fired. Yesterday I watched her ignore the techs in the pharmacy asking for a DUR I sat there waiting and the she acted like she didn't even hear the tech so after waiting the pharmacist comes over in the worst mood I don't understand if she having a bad day but go home don't take it out on me the customers and ur staff worst experience ever so rude I had to look up my question about the medication because the pharmacist was so unhelpful. read more

CVS is another corporation contributing to high profits and low pay. They set their employees up to fail and it's very disturbing to watch. I can only use CVS due to my insurance. I recently made an appointment for vaccinations. I showed up 15 minutes early and was seen half an hour after my appointment time. I could understand if the pharmacy had been properly staffed. But it wasn't. You had one person both filling prescriptions, and giving vaccines. You had scheduled appointments mixed in with walking. There were lines both in the drive thru and walk in. I felt so bad for the poor woman trying to accommodate everyone. When it was finally my turn, I made sure to let her know, that I knew she wasn't responsible, and CVS set it up this way,and wants to keep it this way. And I felt so bad for her. The gratitude in her face was priceless. She responded with " Thank so much, I really needed to hear that. " I wanted to hug her. Instead I came home and posted this. read more

What you see on the CVS Photo Website isn't what you get in the store. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I spent hours creating a calendar. I thought it was pretty convenient that CVS offered "Same Day Pick Up" for the calendar. When I picked it up at the store, I was shocked. It wasn't what was pictured on the Website. To my surprise, the calendar lacked the pictured and described spiral binding that holds the pages together and lets you hang the calendar. The cashier at the store explained that when you choose the "Same Day Pick Up" option, the calendar isn't bound. Hmmm . . . so, what, pray tell, am I supposed to do with 12 loose 8x10 calendar pages? This was the cashier's explanation: "Same Day Pick Up" products ordered from the Website are made on the (photo) kiosk at the local CVS where pick up is scheduled. It seems that products generated by that kiosk might have a different design from what is pictured at the CVS Website. In order to get the same product design that I saw on the Website, I would need to have the calendar shipped to my house and, of course, pay for shipping. If the wire binding is important -- it is! -- I can't do "Same Day Pick Up" for convenience and to save delivery charges. Is this true, or was the cashier "hosing" me because she doesn't know how to assemble a calendar and couldn't take time to figure it out. If this is really the explanation, then why isn't it mentioned at Web checkout or on the product's Webpage? It's misleading -- deceptive advertising! I got my money refunded. However, it's a waste of time carefully designing a calendar, only to have it printed by someone who clearly doesn't understand the concept of a wall calendar! Need photo services? Go elsewhere. read more

Ok - I've become a fan of a pharmacy- I never thought I would. I am now completely done with Walgreens. Each CVS I have visited recently has employees that are engaged and way more helpful, particularly the pharmacists. I needed assists with a medication and they went completely out of their way to help. They also generally have a lot of other items I need. It's just a much more pleasant experience. I'm usually in and out very quickly. Parking is never an issue and they also always seem to have drive thrus attached for the pharmacy. If they don't have an item in stock - they will call around and find it for you at another CVS. They were also experts at working with my insurance company. I did not have to do anything extra. This is very appreciated. The stores are generally well kept and maintained. read more

December 2012: More than a week ago I took a prescription in to this pharmacy. I was told to come back the next day. When I went back, it WASN'T READY. I was told I'd have to come back again because my insurance co. said it's too early for a refill. They should have told me that when I brought it in, before I left the window. I returned on the 11th and they told me that this time my prescription WASN'T READY because I had no refills. Seriously? They should have told me that before I left the window, too. Now I am still waiting for my RX after three trips to their pharmacy. I was in the process of moving all of my RXs over from Walgreens and now need to rethink that. I mentioned this to one of their many pharmacy employees, who replied that she she doesn't care if I move my $1500-$1800 a month RXs elsewhere. UPDATE (JANUARY 2012): I was told they left voice mails for me regarding my previous review, but they were in Spanish, so I had no idea. (I hardly look Spanish and have an Irish surname....) Next time, I wanted to pay for and pick up half my ($382 at Walgreens and $424 at CVS) prescription on Friday, and the rest on Monday after I had more cash. They agreed to this and gave me half on Friday and when I went back on Monday, the rest WASN'T READY. They told me that it was too soon to fill the other half??? That obviously was incorrect since I only picked up half of it. I had to have them fill it without my insurance and had to wait for it. When I commented that their price for this prescription was much higher than at Walgreens, the pharmacist replied that my insurance company determines the price. Uh ... no. My insurance company has no say regarding what any pharmacy charges for their products. Nice try, though. And, finally, next (and last) time, I left a list of my last five prescriptions to be transferred over from Walgreens for refill. I wrote my doctor's name on the list, and verbally reminded them that my doctor is the one in their system. When I returned several days later, the prescriptions still WEREN'T READY ... because they had been faxing the wrong doctor. I have way too many prescriptions to be spending this much time trying to get them refilled, and to be paying higher prices. I need a place that will just do it right the first time. A standard CVS, clean and organized. Things are easy to find, and I've never encountered a real problem with under-staffing, although you do have to do the work to seek out an employee to open any locked cases for you, which can be a little bit of a hassle. Conveniently located! read more

Unfortunately, now my insurance company is forcing me to get my meds through CVS or pay a crap more. I went in here on Sunday and the Pharmacy representative Oksana was asking me every freakin question under the sun that had to do with signing up for just the dumbest crap. Of course, I said no to all the "alert me" crap because I received tons of phone calls telling me about "my prescription is ready" when neither my doctor nor I have given permission to have it filled or automatically filled. CVS is doing a Walgreens with all the unnecessary calls. Best thing to do is to tell the representatives here that you do not want automatically refill, otherwise, they are calling you like debt collectors on crack. I mean I did beforehand, and they call anyway, but if you have it on record, and there is a class action you will at least have a good case. Then twenty minutes AFTER I collected the prescription I got a call telling me to pick up my medication, wtf??? Seriously the worse. ever. read more

I was checking out and had to wait slightly longer than usual, but for a good reason. The lady at checkout was assisting a person who was blind locate the items he needed to purchase. She was very descriptive, helpful and kind to the person. At the end of the transaction she arranged someone from pharmacy to escort the person to the bus stop, which is kiddy corner to the store. The pharmacy technician used proper human guide when traveling with someone with blindness and was also very descriptive and kind to the gentleman. If only all establishments did this. read more

I go here all the time because it's close but the truth is going to this CVS is aggravating. The lines are always really long because while one employee is working the register, the rest are roaming the store or on break. If I ever have a problem with a transaction, It takes forever to get it straightened out because the cashiers are not trained to deal with anything except scanning the items you hand them and the managers are never around. If they had a better staff who were trained in customer service, this store would be fine. read more

Needed an OTC medication, and pharmacist on duty was most helpful, telling me pros and cons of different options. Prescriptions have always been filled quickly and correctly. Love the fact that CVS no longer sells cigarettes, making it appear that they really do care about your health. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews on here. Going to this CVS is a very aggravating experience. This place is ALWAYS short staffed. Sometimes I'll go up to the counter to pay for something and there won't be anybody at the counter, and I'll actually have to wander up and down all the aisles just to find somebody to check and pay for my items! I swear there are times when I could pull a van over to the entrance and load the entire van up with merchandise from the store and they'd never know! The staff are also not well trained here, so you often get very long lines over minor problems that could have been taken care of easily by anyone with better training. It's not the employee's fault, it's the company's for not training them right. CVS seems like a company that is trying to cut corners in every way possible and it really shows. read more

This CVS is poorly stocked, poorly managed, badly organized, understaffed, dingy, and aggravating. Why do I have to return twice until they have distilled water in stock? Why are related items scattered in different places in the store? Why are standard items constantly missing or out of stock, and instead there are shelf tags but nothing on the shelf? This is by far the worst chain pharmacy I have ever experienced. However, it is really close to where I live, and my ins. company Aetna (which owns CVS) occasionally sends my prescription refills there. If I didn't have to go to CVS because of Aetna, I would avoid it like the plague. read more

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY - DO NOT GO TO THIS CVS LOCATION TO FILL YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS!! They gave me the wrong medications on three occasions. I reported it to the Pharmacy Board of IL as well as the CVS corporate office (1800-ShopCVS). I am very concerned someone else will have the same experience and possibly die because of getting the wrong medication. DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE - THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! I got my purchases home and noticed that we were missing an item and had a strange charge for another one. I went back and they told me that I had bought a magazine which I know I did not. The "manager" refused to give me a refund. I believe the clerk, charged the magazine and kept it for herself. There is a pharmacist there who is a real asshole. I have to take a bunch of prescriptions for some chronic conditions. I have used them for years. Due to some recent unpleasant interactions with him, I am transferring my prescriptions to the Walgreens down the street. read more

I am new to the Oak Park area and have stopped in to this CVS a few times since I moved. I can't say much about the pharmacy since I haven't needed to use it yet but I have found the Management at this location to be very helpful. I made a purchase that that should have resulted in Extra Bucks at the end of the transaction but they didn't print out with my receipt. The manager took a look at my receipt to make sure I had bought the right items and printed them out for me without a problem as well as apologized for the issue. I know mistakes happen and my opinion of a place is based on how they handle those mistakes and I was happy that the manager took care of it for me without a problem. He did mention that he was new to this store so maybe things have changed since some of these other reviews were written. I guess I will find out sooner or later if the Pharmacy part of the store is really as bad as some say it is but for now this will be my CvS. read more
