Have got terribly slow. After got prescription at counter had to wait on pharmacist for 15 minutes to tell me instructions

This review is only for the Minute Clinic at this CVS location in Panama City Beach. I already knew what I needed, but could not buy it without a script. I didn't know the process at Minute Clinic, so it was a bit clumsy. There are no such things as walk-ins. You have to request an appointment, either online or at the kiosk. There was no one available to guide me through the process or provide instructions. There was one person working, the doctor, who only comes out momentarily between patients. When you apply for the appointment, it will tell you when the next available appointment is. Be prepared with insurance information and credit/debit card information. It will cost you. I found out that had I been in my home state my insurance would have paid all but a co-pay, but since I was out of state they would not cover it. I hate medical insurance companies. When you come for your appointment, sign in at the kiosk, and be prepared to wait. The name "minute clinic" is a bit misleading. There will be as much medical and insurance bureaucracy here as anywhere else in the USA. Thankfully, once I got in, the doctor was thorough and pleasant. She confirmed what I knew and provided the script which I had filled at the CVS pharmacy. I started the process at lunchtime and got out at 6 PM. That's one long minute, but it was faster and less expensive than driving to the Mexican border to purchase what I needed at a Mexican pharmacy. I normally do not leave reviews, but the experience and the treatment of the pharmacist at this pharmacy was so uncalled for that I feel I should let people know what happened to us. My husband went to the minute clinic here to get some medicine for a rash he had on his back. That was fine. Pretty easy. No problems with getting the medication which was just an antibiotic cream and a steroid cream...the first time. 2 weeks later we are out of antibiotic cream. There are no refills, so we have to see the nurse again at the minute clinic. This time a different nurse. Ok no problem. But this time when we picked up the med we were charged for it. And I ask Achmed the pharmacist, why are we being charged for this bc his Ins covers it. He said oh you have Ins? Yes, we were just here 2 weeks ago. So, I'm thinking Why was the info not saved the first time? Hmm So he checks it and comes back and says no they are not paying for it. Ok. So we pay for it out of pocket. I get home. Back to our rental. We are not from here. We are snowbirds. And I call our insurance. They tell me nothing was filed. I ended up talking to 2 different agents. Nothing was filed and I needed to take the medicine back and make them run it again. So, I called them first and of course you can't talk to anyone, you can only leave a message and a call back. So I left a message and within 15 minutes Achmed the pharmacist called me back. He said no no I filed it, they did not except it, uh uh. So, he said bring it back. We will run it again and see. So, we drove all the way back over there and he doesn't want to help us. He makes the little girl who is working there wait on us. So she runs it and then she tells us we can't get it until tomorrow. Well as soon as Achmed hears this, he starts telling me "oh you have to pay for that", mind you they have already given me a refund. And he keeps repeating it " you have to pay, you have pay" And I'm like I am not paying for it! Why would I pay for this when my Insurance pays for it. And again he says You have to pay You have to pay. And he's getting loud, and then I'm getting loud, and I say to the girl, what part of this does he not understand. So I proceed to call the Insurance company bc that is what they told me to do if I had any more problems with them. And Achmed gets on the loudspeaker and calls for the manager to come. Because he was like No you are going to pay! I am calling the manager! So here comes the manager, I'm on the phone with the Insurance, I hear her tell him, but you already gave them a refund etc, and so she comes over talks with my husband to find out what our story is and then proceeds to run the medicine through the Insurance and use a vacation loophole to get us our meds. But it doesn't end there. My husband had gotten 2 refills on the cream this time. Well, we had already decided we were never going back there, so we took it to Walmart, closest to us. The one at Pier Park. We go back to pick it up, and they tell us no there are no refills. I have the paperwork that clearly shows we have 2 refills, so we show this to the Walmart pharmacist, and he was like well they are telling me you don't. So, after 2 phone calls to CVS manager, and the minute clinic again, we finally got the antibiotic cream...at Walmart. My husband wanted to just forget about it and just screw it, but you know what? this whole thing was so wrong! And for me the issue was the whole principle of it. It was wrong. read more

This is "my place" for pharmacy. The employees are friendly and customer oriented and do a good job - but it is a high-volume operation that is sometimes staffed by only two people and the pharmacist. Waits can be a little long at times as they have to serve two drive-up lines, phone calls, and windows for drop-off, advice, and pickup. Sometimes everyone is busy with customers and the phone system is announcing two or three phone lines waiting. A focused, dedicated, hard-working group. read more

They won't answer the phone in the pharmacy, until u sit on hold for up to 20 minutes. Several of the workers are very rude. I have had to have my dr call the female pharmacist several times to get my inhalers for copd. She seems to delight in being as unhelpful and unsympathetic as possible. I will be seeking another place for my next refills. read more
