With the big box pharmacies you may wait in a circuitous voice-activated system that is hardly what I'd consider good customer service. in contrast, calling Dedericks and with one button push you're talking to a live person within 15 seconds. if you're getting your prescriptions at a big box chain, you're missing out on a much more pleasant experience from ordering to pickup. Highly recommend supporting your local pharmacy especially when they do everything right!

But here, in New Milford, there don't seem to be many other places, which aren't also behemoths themselves, where you can pick up light bulbs, toilet paper, and mulch -- far less all three at the same time, at fair prices (along with Play-doh, Advantix, and gummy vitamins). The staff are almost all amazing, friendly, helpful, and reasonably diverse given the demographics of the area as a whole. We've been particularly impressed with customer service during the COVID-19 outbreak. Not only have folks been cheerful and kind in spite of high ambient tension levels, but have modeled tolerance and non-bigotry. This was one of the first places where toilet paper and cleaning products sold out in the area, it's true -- but it was also one of the earlier places to restock. When all area stores were out of thermometers and children's Tylenol, we found them here. We have some funny stories about how our kid, while attending an extremely chichi nursery school in NYC, was asked to write about his favorite place to visit in the world. Other kids wrote about private islands they visited on their parents' yachts. (OK, not really, but close.) Our kid wrote an ode to the toy department at Walmart. It is extensive. It's not en vogue to like this store, I know. But particularly in light of the wonderful staff, who stay wonderful through thick and thin, my family thinks this Walmart is the bomb diggity.

Led by a wonderful pharmacist named Kristen, the team is helpful, motivated, and really available. They actually answer the phone, which the Walgreens in Ridgefield doesn't (okay, so the bar was set pretty low, but still!). Kristen went out of her way call my physician's office (Danbury Medical) to insure the process of switching over was accurate and done correctly. Well, I can breathe easier now, knowing I'm in good hands at this Rite Aide. Thanks guys. You deserve all the praise cause you are doing a great job.
