I have never been a coupon queen before, so I'm not sure where this obsession comes from, and it only applies to CVS. But boy, do I get some good deals here! Today I racked up a total of $108, and my discounts, coupons and specials took the total down to $60, plus I got $11 of ExtraBucks to use towards my next trip there. Shopping at CVS is one of the few things in my life that actually gives me a feeling of success and accomplishment! This is a full-sized CVS and it's a standard layout. It's in a good location in East Passyunk, and it has a parking lot, which is helpful in this neighborhood. It is well stocked, though some items like toothpaste and soap are locked up and you have to track down a worker to access them, but that's pretty standard now in Philly and other big cities, unfortunately. The pharmacy staff has always been friendly and efficient, though the other day I heard a man swearing because the pharmacy had closed for lunch, so be aware of that if you're picking up a prescription at that time of day. I will be returning shortly, because as soon as I checked out I received a coupon for $6 of my purchase of $20 or more, and it expires in a week!

They use the NimbleRx portal to order and pay for your meds which is simple to use. I love that you can have automatic refills and convenient delivery to your home. You can also have your packages delivered there if you're worried about doorstep theft. There's a small selection of snacks, candy, toiletries, cards, and OTC meds for reasonable prices. This location is handy for that, but I don't think that's to their credit necessarily. Admittedly, staff here are not the most helpful. Sometimes slow, sometimes distracted and off doing something else. At the very least, they seem understaffed at this location, as it's sometimes a bit of a wait to get help, even with just checking out. All of the stuff is locked up here, presumably to avoid theft. However, it leads to a lot of friction when you have to press the button and wait for the same person to come and unlock a case for you to get each item in your multi-item shopping list. At the very least I haven't had any issue with stock here ever. Just a lot of friction in the shopping experience.

This CVS is smaller than some others so it's not as well stocked with holiday items during the end of year holiday season, and have a small refrigerator and freezer section. With the lack of a grocery store in Old City, the smart thing to do would be to expand those sections. But I can usually find what I'm looking for here. And the pharmacy rarely has a wait. They recently added self checkout machines, so u can generally avoid that person holding up the line complaining about something or asking for a rain check on a coupon. This CVS has been a welcome addition to my Old City neighborhood since the day it opened.
