I think most people go here for meds, it doesn't appear to be stocked well. The website said they had my shampoo but they didn't. They also have half the store under glass. That's a "I won't be back" thing for me. No one likes having to wait ten minutes to get the glass opened. If people are stealing stuff then get security. I'm honestly a well built man but I hate coming here because of the riff raff surrounding the place. There are other options.

They claim it's an insurance issue, but my child's insurance hasn't changed in years. Then they lie and say they're out of stock. Which is mostly untrue. There was an incident when I requested to refill a prescription a week in advance. They sent me a text claiming it was out of stock. I had a feeling that it was bs so I drove to the pharmacy and spoke with their staff in-person. Guess what? The prescription that they claimed that was "out of stock" was in fact in stock. The tech told me that I just needed to wait 10 minutes. I had to explain to the tech the importance of my child's medication being filled on time, given that a missed dose can cause a life-threatening issue. About a month ago, I was in line inquiring on my child's prescription. There was another customer standing super close behind me while I was giving the tech very personal information. The staff did not say anything to the customer standing very close to me. There I was disclosing personal medical information not realizing that the customer was near me the whole time. (They should check the cameras; I can't make this up!) I only became aware that the man was standing extremely close to me because another customer in line pointed it out and told him to step back. There is no way that pharmacy tech helping me did not notice him. HIPAA VIOLATION! Anyway, if I could give this pharmacy zero stars I would.

A lot of the shelves were empty, almost everything is locked up, and it feels a bit grimy. It was a wasted trip for us since it turns out our vaccination isn't covered by our insurance (the pharmacy tech also had an issue checking us in and reviewing our accounts) and the check stand (no self check out) had a line of five people deep that wasn't going anywhere so I put back the candies I'd picked up and left. To be honest I never see us ever coming back to this location, we don't see these issues at our local Walnut Creek CVS and we're always able to use their self check out to be in and out quickly, so overall I think two stars is right on the nose.

The manager told me he thinks the Pharmacy Manager's name was "Lau" (he spelled it) and that the pharmacist answering the phones might be "Shemma." I told him that I had already been disconnected multiple times and was just trying to get my prescription. The manager wasn't rude, but it didn't really feel like I was talking to someone who was concerned about fixing the issue. I expected a little more urgency since why are the pharmacy staff acting like they answering calls and disconnecting them on "accident". Instead, the only solution offered was to transfer me back to the pharmacy and let them know I was waiting on the phone. When someone answered, I asked if her name was Shemma. She immediately responded, "Nope," and transferred me. I was connected to Shemma. I realized she wasn't the same person that had disconnected my earlier calls because her voice sounded different from the employee who had answered before. Since Shemma stayed on the line, I decided to ask about my medication and a possible prescription transfer between Walgreens locations. I explained that my regular Walgreens told me that if this location had the medication in stock, they could request the prescription transfer. Shemma told me, "No, I can't do that. Call that Walgreens to transfer it." This completely conflicted with what I had already been told, and I felt like I was being talked over. My biggest concern is still the employee who initially answered the phone. After one of the disconnections, I called back and asked for her name first because I wanted to know who was disconnecting the calls. I figured if the call got disconnected again, at least I would know who I had spoken with. When I asked for her name, she responded, "Sure," and the call was disconnected. This is another reason I strongly recommend asking for the employee's name at the beginning of the call. I feel like people are less tough when they know you know who they are. If you need to follow up, file a complaint, or reference a specific interaction, having the employee's name can make that process a lot easier. With that being said, I don't need my prescription to be filled here anymore. Goodluck to ya if you have to call this pharmacy.

Be aware: the pharmacy closes from 12:30 to 1:30 pm for lunch. I've been caught a couple of times forgetting this, and I see several other comments about the inconvenience. Overall, the CVS staff is friendly and the store is clean and organized. A large selection of products - I'm almost always able to find what I'm looking for - except Luden's Sugar Free Cherry lozenges (bummer). They have several self-checkout machines to get in and out quickly. Plenty of parking available.

Unless you want to wait 1-2hrs to get your prescriptions and 30min to check out in the front. The drive thru is not not open which makes it more difficult to get your meds. Not only that but there is one lady that looks Samoan helps one person and then goes and gets distracted for 10 min comes back helps again and goes off again. This is BS customer service sucks at this store. Not to mention almost everything is locked up so if you wanted to get something from nail clippers or nails stuff or make up or electrical toothbrush heads you must wait till someone hears the ring on the over head and comes to you after you waiting that long. And tonight, my delivery was supposed to come at 7:30. At 9:00, I hadn't even gotten a text so I went to the on line chat and was told the store was still processing my order and I could call them to check on it. So I called. Too bad the store was already closed. Good thing my order just included house hold items and not medicine. Although, last week my son was waiting and waiting for days to get an update on his prescription. When he finally called, they said they couldn't process it without more information...why didn't they notify him of that they needed more information?! Clearly the managers don't take pride in the store or they would require the employees to do more than a half-assed job. I upgraded my rating to two stars because I called about my order this morning, and spoke to a lovely, polite lady about my order. She was very concerned that there was a problem and apologetic. At first she couldn't find any reference to the order so I said I would place it again. But a few minutes later, she called back and said she found the order and would fill it right away. She was very friendly and that made a huge difference. The few clerks that I have interacted with have generally been indifferent and non-caring. Customer interaction matters!

The pharmacy staff and employees have always been courteous and helpful to the best of their abilities. However, CVS is a monster. This organization is evil, and to detail that statement is beyond my ability to elaborate on in this short review. I will say this; the new pharmacy set up is awful. It is not HIPAA compliant because you can hear word for word everything each patient at the pharmacy window is saying, including their personal information, their prescriptions, etc. To make this matter worse, CVS has installed thick plexiglass between the pharmacy worker and the patient. So the patient has to basically yell in order for the pharmacy worker to hear them. Therefore, half the store can hear the person giving their name and birthdate, etc. So consider that hundreds of people are walking through the typical CVS pharmacy line per day and yelling at plexiglass... it is disgusting to see the spittle that is all over the glass and rarely cleaned. These employees are always shortstaffed and now they have to clean plexiglass between customers? Ick factor high. I need to find a new pharmacy. Lastly, don't ever try to call this pharmacy because you'll be thrown into an AI hell hole. You will not speak with a human being. If you're lucky, you will end up in a voicemail and get a call back.
