I wrote a…read morereview for this pharmacy under the Lagniappe Pharmacy in Gonzales accidentally but I'm sure that one deserves 5 stars as well bc I've been to 3 locations and they were all great! It's definitely worth the drive from Baton Rouge. All the employees are really nice and caring. I was having problems with my insurance company and the CVS (Perkins Rowe) and Lagniappe were the only places that had my medication. Eric and Makaela have gone above and beyond dealing with my insurance company and getting my meds. approved. Meanwhile I had to keep calling CVS, was getting mixed info. from different employees, would drive all the way across town bc a pharmacist told me it was ready when it wasn't, waited 4 extra days bc they "forgot" to call me and tell me that they didn't even have my medication and that they would have to order it. I drove back and forth across town 4 times bc the CVS pharmacy techs and pharmacists weren't communicating with each other or with me. Trust me it's worth the drive from Baton Rouge to not have to deal with all that stress every time and it's nice to go to a pharmacy where the employees actually care about you. They also sell Circle E & Orleans Candles, cards, medical supplies, soap, ziploc bags, fabric softener etc.... and other household items.

But other than proximity, this pharmacy has served us well and several other ways. First of all, price! And that cannot be emphasize enough. I never knew that different pharmacies charge different amounts For the same medication. Boy was I surprised. The generic antibiotic that a family member needed a few years ago was a fifth of the price at Walmart as it was at CVS! We switched over then and haven't looked back. Second, The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. When I need to call and speak to a pharmacist regarding dosage or availability of the medication they always take the time to answer my questions without having to wait very long haul. When I pick up medications of course the wait time varies based upon the number of customers in line. But I find that when the wait seems a bit long it is only because the cashier is being helpful with the customer in front of me explaining why their bill is what it is or directing them to the pharmacist for actual medication questions. Third, convenience. On top of the added convenience of the location. They now have integrated pharmacy section included in their Walmart app. So I can refill and be notified when my prescription are ready right from my phone. If you do not like the app, you can still call and enter the prescription number. The only thing I wish this location had is a drive-thru. But with the current layout I don't see that becoming possible.

When I arrived there was only one car before me. I waited less than 5 minutes before Mr Ron brought my order out. He was super friendly and speedy. My kids enjoyed chatting with him also.
