Recently, I was looking for Hershey's miniatures...I eat the dark chocolate with almonds as a snack before bed. Don't tell my dentist! : ) Most of the CVS's were sold out of that flavor. Truthfully, since they were on sale, and I had tried 3 or 4 CVS's and I had no luck. I stumbled into this CVS on my way home and low and behold, my chocolates were in stock. But, of course, the sale price had expired. The person at the counter, was so nice and found a coupon on my extra care card, that took a little bit off. The next time I visited, I was looking for bags and cards. I found two really cute gift bags and I bought those and some healthy gluten free treats. So, I am impressed with the service, the people who work there, and the items in stock. Thanks CVS. read more

I got out of the emergency room a couple of days ago, and think that they told me they had sent orders for a couple of prescriptions to my CVS (1580 Rockville Pike). So, on my way home, I was still feeling pretty crummy, but stopped at the drive-through pharmacy and asked about my prescriptions. The woman who waited on me had two other prescriptions from a different doctor's visit, but not from the ER. I asked whether two other orders were received from the ER that day, but she didn't seem to understand English enough to answer my question. It was about 100 degrees F that day and I couldn't stick around to find out. I drove home wondering whether they may have received the orders but had insufficient time to fill them. I thought that I would call the next day and find out. The next day I felt even more awful, so called the CVS to ask about my prescriptions. I got a machine that answered the phone and of course my question was not among its prepared selections. No matter how many times I tried to ask for a person or a customer service representative, the machine insisted that I choose from its menu, which didn't fit my question. I called again and again, and couldn't get past the machine-- until one time it allowed me to leave a voice mail. I left my voice mail, which assured me that someone would get back to me, but guess again. I received a text message that said they received my voice mail and were working on it-- but now, two days have passed and I still have not received a call from them. After being too sick to do anything yesterday, I thought that I would try to pass through the drive-through to ask my question again this evening--- but when I looked up their pharmacy hours just now, I can't find any indication of their drive-through hours, and I'm too sick to walk and wait in line-- if the pharmacy, not just the store, is open at all! What kind of pharmacy is this? One that lets its customers die before giving them any information, let alone meds? If CVS does not improve substantially (i.e. have a person who answers the phone!) I'm moving my business elsewhere! read more

Avoid all CVS pharmacies in the Maryland and Virginia areas. They are fraudulently dispensing Teva drugs under the BRAND label that are actually GENERIC. I have experienced this twice in the past year at two different locations and reported this to local authorities but there's little enforcement. This is medical fraud and medical negligence and there should be a class action lawsuit against CVS and Teva. Do not work with this company, they are harming public health and violating the Hippocratic oath to do no harm to patients. read more

10/29/22 Well I am happy to learn they have the Pfizer shot for The Cronavirus booster and regular shot. Apparently the have The Moderna shot too. Maybe even Johnson &Johnson shot. Nevertheless, it's not what I was looking for, but it's good to know. I came here for The Mucinex DM with both expectorant and cough suppressant. I have had bronchitis going on and off for several years now and it is pissing me off. Taking this medication has helped tremendously with my coughing fists. A man with erectile dysfunction and bronchitis and is a diabetic. Three great problems in one. All are fixable and right now I am working on them all. Today I picked up the The Mucinex DM and found it was closed off to the public. Apparently you need to get an associate to open the case unless you pick up the medication from the sides. Apparently this is what I was told by the employee who finally showed up after I aqired the medication. I would have liked to use the 40% off coupon on top of the $19.99 sale and make it 11.99, but alas, it wasn't to be. Still, I am not coughing like I was in the past few days and it makes this $19.99 extremely acceptable. Great time at this CVS Pharmacy. Oh, the small talk with the woman buying the candy was fun. I understand now why the low reviews. It was suppose to be a quick trip. I was there mid morning. It shouldn't be that busy. However they need to get it together. No shopping carts or baskets available. My hands can carry but so much. I grab my essentials and head to the registers. Theres a long line. The sole cashier yells out self check out is open. So Im very Anti self check out. 1. We are still in a pandemic! They are not sanitizing or cleaning registers between customers and we are in flu season. Do i wanna touch a germy register? 2. Its not my job to check my self out, especially when cvs is famous for pricing errors. My cashier was nice. She tried her best to keep the line flowing. The manager then decides to open a register and help customers out. As im leaving i see on my receipt that i did not get my extra bucks as advertised in the store. I get back in line and I get the manager. He is not pleasant or friendly. In fact, he add an attitude for something that was advertised in his store. He was like the sale expired. Ok. Its 10 am the previous sales should have been removed prior to opening. He then fixed it and that was ir. No apologies just gave my cvs extra bucks ... smh like really. Confusing Store Layout! The CVS located across the street from Congressional Shopping Center on Rockville Pike has a confusing store layout I must say. I visited (8/27/22). It seemed to take longer than usual to find personal care items: tooth brushes & cotton swabs & such. Compared to other Local CVS locations. I asked a CVS Associate who gave me the aisle # for said items. Once in the aisle-still seem to have to hunt for the item. Found everything. Self Check-Out No Problem. read more

I am kind of shocked that this location is rated so poorly . This is my go to CVS due to proximity to my home and work. After reading through some of the reviews I thought it was best to break my review into two separate parts. One being the pharmacy because not every is going for medication. Two being the overall store. The pharmacy: staff are pretty bad. They don't seem to know what they are doing and it takes FOREVER and a half to get anything... even to pay. The one is continuously ringing off the hook, then the drive through is buzzing... customers inside have to wait forever to be helped. It also takes a while to locate prescriptions, even when I drop off the slip and wait. The overall store: employees outside of the pharmacy have always been friendly. Recently I entered having forgotten my mask in the car and was politely directed to go get it. I liked that staff were checking! There also seems to be several staff members so whenever I need help locating an item I have no problem finding someone to help. I'll continue visiting this location despite the reviews but I hope the pharmacy gets it together. read more

Be very careful here for the sake of your health. I expected to retrieve medicine here for my teenager. This CVS said they didn't have it and suggested I drive to their Falls Church Va. outlet where it was in stock. Then guess what: the meds were from the file of a 74 year old patient! They didn't even have the prescription! So I called my doctor, and he phoned it in to their all-night pharmacy in Potomac. Then guess what: one med is available in their now-closed Rockville store, the other in Potomac. And CVS charged my insurance in the closed store, which they can't reverse, & I must buy it without insurance in their all/night pharmacy. There you have it. They communicate poorly, are incompetent, and should be avoided. read more

I wish I could give -50 stars. This has got to be the worst pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago and have not had a car so I had to leave for my parents today without being able to get my medication refilled prior. When I arrived here I realized I was pretty low and it couldn't wait 24 hours to fill. This woman at the pharmacy sent me on a wild goose chase trying to get my prescription transferred. Gave me the wrong instructions on how to get it transferred. Then gave me the wrong information on what Walgreens told her. Then I asked if she could tell me which cvs had it in stock. At this point I was frantic and almost in tears bc I was starving and knew I needed to eat but I didn't have insulin. She just said sorry I cannot help with that you will have to call around. The next cvs I called gave me other cvs spots that showed stock within a few minutes so this lady clearly lied. My parents always struggle with this cvs as well. Absolutely horrible. read more

I am spending my last time in line at this pharmacy. I was 12th in line for pick up. The guy handling the line was slow as molasses but the other three people behind the counter kept looking at the line and did not help. I'm finished with this branch and will definitely go to one of the smaller pharmacies. They deserve our business anyway. read more

The last few weeks I've been getting texts from CVS not about when my prescription will be ready but instead telling me that I have bonus extra care bucks that are good for today only. The first time it was for $5. I couldn't pass that up. Since they can be used on sale items unlike the long list CVS coupon that print up with your receipt I bought share size bags of M&M's. $2 for 2 of them! Yummy! Last Friday it was $2 in extra care bucks. Along with my $1 regular extra care buck I came to this CVS store to see what I could get. The store is just like other CVS stores I have shopped at. The parking lot curves around their building with spaces for a lot of cars. The store is one of the original ones that's been upgraded. It has 2 self checkout stations in addition to the main checkout counter. Like the last store I was at I found myself disappointed that they don't sell bags Take Five candy bars. They're very hard to find. Also I was unimpressed by the small size and limited choices of their bagged chip section near the front of the store. However my mood quickly changed when I saw that regular size bags of Doritos were on sale for $3.50. The catch was & always is that you must buy 2 bags to get the sale price! With my bonus extra care bucks though I was able to buy 2 bags of nacho cheese Doritos for $4. This is mine and my daughter's favorite flavor. There was a short line at the checkout area but skipping over to a self checkout station made the purchase fast & easy. I just scanned my key chain card and the $2 bonus extra care bucks discount came off my total purchase price automatically. I've often felt that the regular prices at CVS are a little bit too high unless the items are on sale which is why I tend to do a lot more shopping at Target stores. Never written a review but this experience has caused me to. And, as a result of this experience I am now done with CVS. Had Covid test on a day when I could choose any time I wanted. You would think I would get quick results. Now going into day four without an answer. Here is where added frustration comes in. This CVS is a disaster. I called to check on a prescription that was called in at least 3 hours earlier. I waited on the phone for at least 15 minutes. No one ever picked up the phone. Since my son was suffering, I decided to just go in. They had received my prescription order but hadn't filled it. She asked me to give her 15 minutes. It's been 30 min. I plan to move all my prescriptions and never step foot in this CVS again. The store is dirty and someone asked for help, the pharmacy paged for help, and no one ever came. Absolutely the WORST pharmacy ever. The pharmacist 'Alula' is completely rude and unprofessional. I dropped off four scripts today around 4:00pm and told him I was waiting. The biggest wait I have ever heard before when I SPECIFICALLY told him I was in severe physical pain was about 45 minutes to 1 hour or so. I called hours later to see if my script was ready and waited more than 23 minutes on the phone on hold and no one EVER Picked up the phone. I sent my spouse almost FIVE HOURS after I dropped off the scripts, including my pain medication. The scripts STILL were not ready. After speaking to Alula, he was RUDE, obnoxious, cocky, and completely didn't care one whit. He was smirking over the phone and laughing at my calm yet angry demeanor. He barely apologized. He said, 'we got a little busier than usual' despite the fact that I ASKED HIM TO CALL if there was any problem with my script. I hope this Alula guy gets fired. Total creep. Lazy. Bum. Rude. Unprofessional. He is the reason why I will no longer use this store and suggest to everyone to avoid them. I may write a letter to corporate. So. Ridiculously. Horrible. Every time I've been to this CVS it's been a hassle or rude customer service, but last week's experience takes the cake. I called in a prescription over a week ago, and they were kind enough to tell me it needed to be refilled from my doctor, so they'd contact her and then fill it for me. Four days later, I called the Pharmacy to confirm that it had been filled, and they said that it had been. After waiting for 30 minutes to pick up the prescription at 7pm, I then get told that it's in fact not ready, and won't be until 10:30pm. I'm not sure if this location is understaffed, or just inconsiderate, however I know that I will not be going there for any future needs. After all of this, they even neglected to transfer the prescription to the other location I requested, causing even more problems. read more

As I get to the counter I explain to Rosa at the counter that I'm here to pick up a prescription with ID in hand for her to take. Rosa is literally staring at me for like 5 seconds...and I'm like "what do you need?" "She says I need your name." Ok that's fine, that's why I'm handing you my ID. But even if so why not ask instead of staring at me? So I hand her my ID and then she asks me for insurance. I'm asking what it is that I need to give her and she walks away from me mid sentence. So you already give me a terrible greeting first off, then you're telling me it doesn't show my insurance....I'm asking what do you need and you can't explain what it is that you actually need from me, however when I'm asking what do you need? My card? My dental Insurance? She replies "not that. Proof of your insurance" OK so what DO YOU NEED ROSA. So I'm frustrated at this point. Rosa can see that but she's still trying to push my buttons and throws my ID on the counter (didn't think that I noticed). UGHHHH! This place needs help! Waited at the drive through the other day to drop a prescription off. Sat there for 20 minutes AND there was a car in front of me. Left, came back and that car was still sitting there waiting to get served. Not the greatest CVS. The pharmacy can be a hit or miss with one of the girls. The gentleman pharmacist is fantastic and an excellent help at least when I have dealt with him. However, the drive thru pharmacy is a nightmare! Never go there! Don't bother!!!!! I waited almost 20 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but considering I called in my prescription a day prior, there was no need for this. They need more people to work with the pharmacist. The retail area is dirty a majority of the time and there is never really more than one person at the register at a time. When it gets busy, people should be there. I'd think that in running their sales reports, they could see a pattern on their busiest times. read more

Fortunately my experience at this CVS was in stark contrast to the other reviewer's, and admittedly I didn't visit the pharmacy. The cashier happened to be the shift manager and he was a SUPER-nice guy (if only I encountered such friendly/personable/humorous workers at all stores)! Truly, he was a great guy - and the other cashier also seemed extremely friendly, with an equally-good sense of humor. As you walk up to this CVS the doors fold out for you. Upon entry it is your typical CVS (with a pharmacy in the rear). Nothing spectacular. Once you've been in one CVS in my opinion you have generally been in them all. The only thing that separates one branch from another is the people. The pharmacy personnel is very courteous. On the day of my visit I felt as if I were watching a commercial, because one of the pharmacists was out from behind the counter walking towards me with a customer, explaining the differences between brand name, generic and over the counter drugs. The lines at the front typically move quickly. I've always had pleasant experiences at this particular location. read more

This may not be your experience, suggest you google : CVS , complaints . I think its more the companies fault for mistakes or slow service.When you require a pharmacist to fill more than 60 scripts per hour, mistakes can happen. read more

It took me 13 minutes from entering to exiting to pick up one prescription, and I was third in line at the pharmacy counter. Like many CVS locations, this pharmacy is chronically understaffed. This review is based on several poor customer service experiences I've had at this location. I believe that with a change in staff and management, this CVS store could be a lot better. One of my most recent experiences at this store was very negative. I was accidentally charged twice for an item when I'd only purchased one of that kind. I noticed it immediately when I got home, while looking over my receipt. I tried calling the store, but they had closed already. The phone just rang and rang, instead of having an answering machine service so I could leave a message for the store manager. Two days later, I returned to the store with my receipt, and the very cashier who'd made the mistake assisted me again. After explaining that she rang me up for two items instead of one, she became hostile and defensive, outright denying that she'd even worked that day (never mind the time-date stamp and her name in bold letters where it says cashier, printed at the top of the receipt). She immediately called over the manager, who I am beginning to realize may be scared or intimidated by her own employee. The manager went to the back of the store and returned about five minutes later. Cued by the employee with a another out right denial that this could have ever happened, the manager developed a bad attitude as well. She then told me that it was too many days ago for her to verify on camera if what I said was true. Furthermore, she lectured me in front of her employee and other customers, about how this was unacceptable and she would only do it just that one time. I then explained to her how that was unfair, seeing how her employee made the mistake. Furthermore, while the cashier was ringing me up, she was talking to other people, not paying attention to what she was doing. This particular cashier has a major attitude problem. Even more, she's ignorant, defensive, and in much need of refinement and professional skills. On another visit to the store, the cashier was singing her lungs out to some song. In fact, it's rare that when I go in there, she is not distracted. The manager even had to touch her on the arm as a warning not to say or do anything unprofessional when I said that she wasn't focused on my transaction. The manager didn't apologize to me for this treatment and inconvenience, nor did the cashier. In fact, the cashier roughly handed me my refund, as a last effort to be aggressive before I left. I am writing to corporate about this incident, as well as the time my husband returned spoiled milk he bought from the store, and had to experience something similar. There have been too many of these experiences at this store, I could write a book about them! I will no longer waste my time and get frustrated shopping at that CVS. read more
