CVS should be ashamed at the incompetence of the cashiers working this afternoon. They did know how to accept my "CVS" gift cards and I did call in to make sure they were valid. Then I paid cash and she could not provide me a receipt, but I am very surprised she could make change. After I got home I checked my email, since I always get it emailed, and this transaction did not show up on my account. I am beginning to understand why some business are not accepting cash. Literally the worst CVS I've ever been into. Each time I go in (not often and only when I have no other choice), it's worse than the time before. The cashiers are god awful and the photo machine never works. If you get an email saying your order is ready for pickup , it's likely not and their printer is "broken". Do not pay ahead!! read more

*** Incompetence and Rudeness at Its Worst *** I had an urgent prescription to fill and called ahead to ensure all four medications were phoned in. Upon arriving at the CVS on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, I clearly stated the names of all four prescriptions to the pharmacy tech, who told me to wait 20 minutes and that I'd receive a text when they were ready. When I returned exactly 20 minutes later, they allowed me to bypass the line (which was considerate), but when I checked the bag after paying, I realized they had only filled two out of four prescriptions. Their mistake. I politely asked them to correct their error immediately, as I had already waited, and it was their responsibility to prioritize fixing the issue. Instead of taking accountability, the staff responded with dismissive attitudes, robotic responses, and zero apology, acting as if I was the problem rather than their own incompetence. When I insisted they correct their mistake before assisting new customers, they flat-out refused and told me I'd have to wait another 20 minutes. Why should I be penalized for their failure to do their job correctly the first time? The lack of professionalism, rude and condescending demeanor, and failure to acknowledge their mistake were completely unacceptable. Instead of valuing customers' time and ensuring accuracy, they gaslighted me into feeling like an inconvenience for expecting basic competence. This location is a disaster, and if you have the option, I strongly urge you to avoid it at all costs. This was a time-sensitive situation, and they made it infinitely more stressful with their careless and unprofessional approach. I will never be returning to this CVS, and I highly recommend others take their business elsewhere. read more

This CVS is one of the few places that sells full-size Oribe shampoos and conditioners as well as a pretty good selection of La Roche-Posay sunscreens (there was even a sale on the sunscreens which is unheard of...). I don't mind the location too much as I usually try to go when it's not super busy or park in the back (there's a little cut through which ends up pretty close to the store). I also like that there is more than one self checkout...however I'd say about 70% of the time I don't really receive good service here, neutral or noncommittal at best, sometimes friendly and helpful...I'd say it's still one of the better CVS locations around... read more

An OK convenience store. It is around my parents' house's neighborhood. Been visiting this store for over 20+ years now. Customer service ain't the best. They have good inventory of most items and in an organized fashion. Can get pretty packed in there and the aisles are a little narrow to get around if there are a lot of people in there. Store has a good amount of selection in there. Parking in front of the store can be tricky as it is usually packed. Kind of small, if you ask me. For a very popular store mall, parking space needs to be expanded and stretched out a little bit. A lot of spaces in cramped area. read more

The last Friday before Christmas, CVS was a straight mad house with prescription lines 10-15 persons deep. And the pharmacy working like caffeinated elves in Santa's Work Shop, working feverishly to fill the dozens of medications request. They were very patiently answering questions, dealing with irate customers, insurance issues and the hordes of people filling Prescriptions right before the long holiday weeks of Christmas and New Year. I must commend and appreciation their diligent work, they were real troopers, in good spirits, and working non-stop to get everyone what they needed. read more

For the most part, I try to frequent the same CVS locations. With this one being located closest to home & inside of the Wildwood (Balducci's) Shopping Center, my shopping experience is always a good one...thanks to the team of friendly employees. Once the automatic door is opened, I'm greeted by one or perhaps two employees & then asked if I need any assistance. Same course for the Pharmacy staff. The isles are well kept, organized & the heavy presence of yellow sale tags are a bonus. There usually isn't a wait to check out as both the counter & self-check out has cashiers & attendants readily available to assist. I've been shopping here since relocating to the area three years ago & no complaints...as of yet. P.S. I'd like to see CVS's IT Department troubleshoot the Apple Pay system or remove it completely from the payment machine. read more

Oh my Lord, where do I begin. I have to say my focus was to purchase a six pack or whatever largest quantity of water they had and Carmex lip treatment. I was severely dehydrated and felt ill. In the progress of searching for the Carmex I added other items I saw to my cart. I purposely left my purse in the top portion of the shopping cart so that I would not be confused with placing items in my purse. as an African-American, I know how that happens all the time. I was approached by an employee by the name of Ernest. When he first said "Hey Miss. (I am 50 years old and I'm pretty sure 30 years his senior.) I did not think he was speaking to me so I kept walking so he said it again. I stopped and I said , "Hi!". He said, "Leave your cart grab, your things and get out." I chuckled and he repeated it. So then I asked in disbelief, "Are you serious?". He responded "yes", and repeated his demand. So I asked him why, and kept demanding to find out why I was being thrown out of a CVS. And he kept repeating his demand and finally responded, "We don't want your type of business here. Get out." so I asked him again why and then he said because you're putting items in your purse. So I picked up my purse out of the cart and emptied all of the contents onto the floor. And asked him to pick out what items he is accusing me of stealing? I've been also emptied my pockets and showed him and he said, "No. I'm on the phone with my manager. It's too late get out. We've been watching you on the cameras." In my 50 years, including living in several parts of the country, including Alabama, and traveling abroad extensively, I have never been accused of stealing ever. I was so thrown off and distraught. All I could think of was pull out your camera and start recording and so I did. When I began recording artist, decided to takeoff his name tag and of course, as they always do say he did not give me permission to record him, and retreated, I can only imagine to the office in the back of the establishment. In the process of looking for him, I realized that I was the only person of color in the store. Then when I got into the parking lot, I realized I was the only person of color outside as well. This threw me, especially considering I had already observed symbols, and bumper stickers with the "don't tread on me" flags around the neighborhood. I just wish I had had the foresight to begin recording at the beginning of the encounter and demanded that they called the police on me. I was staying in the area with relatives and so terrified to go into any business establishment that I just had the rest of my needs DoorDash'd to my cousins home. read more

The location is great for vacationers. It is near many rentals and some hotels, including the Holiday Inn& Suites. I was able to find what I needed here; although I needed someone to unlock it for me and that is something I've never experienced around DC. The cashier was older and pleasant. They had a lot of beach-type items here in case you forgot anything. There is a parking lot too. I cannot speak to using this location as a local, but I will say that if you forgot anything and you're a vacationer-you can find it here! read more

This is an update for the incomplete review that was posted just three days ago due to a system glitch that I encountered! I was at the Wildwood Shopping center to stop into Sarah's Homemade Ice Cream. This CVS is located a few doors from Sarah's. I was in need of more of the Carmex brand lip care for-cold-sores product. It had been several years since I had to buy more as It is rarely ever used by me. However when I do it works great & fast! This CVS is smaller than the newer stores that are close to my house. The parking is easy as the Wildwood Shopping center has a large lot and it was a busy day just a few days after Christmas. The entrance to this CVS is "old school." It is not one where the sliding doors open when you approach it. There are 2 self checkout stations adjacent to the entrance. The checkout counter sits along the right side wall next to the photo department. There were at least 5 employees working in the store. I asked a younger store associate who was stocking the shelves where to find the Carmex product. She wasn't sure they had it but referred me to the manager. He was also stocking the shelves. He pointed me toward 2 counter top spinners found on the checkout counter. I saw Carmex lip care moisturizers on them but not the one I needed. That's when the manager called out to me to look in aisle #9. The cold sore and lip care product were in fact here but I didn't see the Carmex brand. Many brands of cold sore treatments were rather pricey (some over $20). I passed on buying any of it today but looked in the Christmas mark down section near the front of the store. I Found nothing of interest to me & I left the store. In general CVS has higher prices on almost everything than grocery store chain stores like Target, Giant & especially Aldi and lidl. They have a bigger variety of brand names though than I've seen at Walgreens stores! This is why using the extra care bucks and coupons is so important like the 40 percent off one I had planned on using today. This must be the worst CVS pharmacy location I have ever been to. Extremely long lines, inefficient staff, lost my prescription. Twice!!! I expressed my concern to the pharmacist about "my private Health information written in a Rx that is now lost" first time the pharmacist said "no worries, it is not lost is here we just can't find it" (WTF??) She assured me she would call my doctor and get the RX again and that I would receive a call when ready. Two weeks later, no call. Went to the pharmacy again , first I'm told no record of the prescription , after a long wait then i am told "I see it, it was filed with the wrong birthdate and in the wrong file" My concerns is with the fact that this location seems to serve lots of elderly people. If they are this disorganized and inefficient, the potential for dosage errors, refill errors, wrong meds to the wrong patient and harm to patients is concerning. Avoid! read more

This is the worst pharmacy at a CVS I have EVER been to. Reading through other reviews, it's obvious this location has a persistent problem in their pharmacy department. When trying to pick up a prescription, I asked the pharmacist a simple question about my pick up date for the next refill and was immediately spoken to condescendingly and aggressively, with her response also not even answering my question. I understand people have off days, so I just disregarded her tone and politely asked a clarifying question, hoping a second try would give me the answer I need so I could get my Rx and leave quickly. She became even more abrasive and condescending, raising her tone, doing aggressive hand gestures, and making a nasty face. She also gave the same short response that again didn't answer the question. I simply responded back by telling her there was no need to be so rude to me, because I was just trying to understand. Instead of apologizing, calming down, or hell, although it would have been a lie, denying that she was rude, she proudly admitted she was rude by saying "well because I already gave you an answer!" One of her workers then came up and was like "she's not being rude" which didn't make much sense she herself wasn't denying being rude and was in fact trying to justify it already. My main concern is the way that she was so immediately abrasive for no reason and if she is willing to be that rude with no remorse, even when called out, I worry for how she treats patients who don't have the ability or don't feel comfortable to speak up for themselves. I know this CVS serves a largely older population who may not always be able to articulate and respond quickly to such aggression. Never ever go here unless you want to experience beyond terrible customer service and just lack of human decency/kindness. read more

The pharmacy here is the worst I've been to. There is usually an exceptionally long line, they don't seem to be able to find the prescriptions they notify you are in, and in my daughters case, they put a hold on her prescription, didn't notify us why and when we showed up and waited in line we were sent to yet another "consultation line" with about 10 other very disgruntled people waiting. This is a nightmare, and as it's the only location nearby that carry's the meds we need we have no choice. Avoid at all costs if you have the option read more

"If you want to deal with this and become frustrated dreading when you do have to go to pick up a prescription from this CVS then come here!" In addition to this quote I would add the following. WARNING! If you need medication do not use this CVS! * This store is in a COMPLETE MELTDOWN! Please read it's almost beyond belief. * It closes at 6:00. * They do not answer the telephone. * Prescriptions are often filled 4 or 5 DAYS after being submitted. * They often fill prescriptions until you arrive to check on them days after they should have been filled. * The staff is angry and hostile and could care less that you need a medication. And whatever you do don't say you need your medication sooner thank they are willing to fill it. * I have asked a question and the pharmacist said they would be right back and started filling prescriptions for 20 minutes. They didn't forget about me, they were just going to fill prescriptions for 20 minutes before answering any questions. None of the traditional norms one would expect in a business in the United States appears to be accepted at this location. CVS, you have a responsibility to customers who depend on you. This specific location is closest to our house, but we will be switching. They take forever to fill a prescription, and then when it is supposedly ready, the lines are always long. Then there is always an excuse that makes you wait even longer. Each recent visit has ballooned to about an hour of waiting in-store. Do yourself a favor, and take your business elsewhere. read more

Stopped in to get a prescription filled here the other day. Not my first time at this CVS location but first time for the pharmacy (this isn't the closest CVS for me but it is right by a Starbucks that I frequent a lot). So this is a fairly large location, although oddly enough my past observations are that the flow is not great (cashiers are to your right when you come in, self checkout on your left ... folks tend to be a bit disorganized when standing in line or leaving). Also, for some odd reason, their selection of Essie nail polish (a huge draw product, or so my kids tell me) is really tiny compared to other CVS locations for some reason. But, as I said, when I'm hitting the Starbucks and I need to pick up something, this location is super convenient. Anyway, I didn't have to wait long at the pharmacy window which was nice. The pharmacist who took my prescription was very pleasant. Turned out they didn't have my medicine in stock (bit surprising since it's common) but he told me without making me wait. He then offered to order it for the next day, but also noted that I could try another CVS store if I needed it right away or wasn't planning to be back in that area. I *really* appreciated him checking and telling me all this while I was at the drop-off window instead of having to wait around and then be told. Props to the pharmacist! I ended up taking my prescription to a different location and getting it filled later that day. But I'd take a prescription to this location again any day. read more

The pharmacy department is terribly understaffed and poorly run. The lines are always so long. Waited in line for 30 minutes only to be told that the medication they called and told me was ready to be picked up is actually not ready. Come back in 30 minutes. To wait an hour to get a simple script filled is ridiculous, especially when you can get other services to deliver at home and often for cheaper prices. read more

My wife was told her headache prescription was ready for pick up. She went in and was told it was not ready - come back tomorrow. She came back and it was still not ready. Meanwhile she was leaving on a trip and didn't have her medication. I went in for her a week later and was told they're all out. I asked them angrily to look again. In less than a minute they found a box of the medication. I asked why they didn't check themselves or contact us that the medicine wasn't ready and the pharmacist said "we have 800 patients and we don't have time." I have used CVS for many years for many things. I am now on hold for the 6th time this week and have NEVER had someone pick up the phone for the pharmacy. This piped-in "on hold" music is also making me nuts. I'm done. This location is very busy and I understand that they are overworked. However, if it's that bad, they need to hire someone else who can work on communication. I am also sick of the mile-long coupons they print out to try to get you back into the store. There has to be a better way. You waste a lot of paper. Emmanuel at this location is wonderful. Most of the staff is very helpful but they are just too busy. All that said, I will be switching to one of the grocery stores. I won't pay CVS hiked-up prices anymore with such poor service. read more

Terrible service with long wait lines. Also beware they have a tendency to fill all the refills authorized upfront and charge you for all the refills. I had an 11 o'clock appointment, made online, for a vaccination. I checked in 10 minutes early. All in all, I waited about 40 minutes and, upon my third or fourth inquiry, I was finally told that this particular Covid vaccination was not covered by health insurance and had to be administered by a medical doctor. The important issue here is not the insurance coverage, but that I was left waiting for about an hour when I could've been told that when I checked in. read more

The pharmacy staff are rude and they don't make extra efforts to rectify insurance problems. One tall male is particularly antagonistic and lazy. I asked him to please special order a med that wasn't stocked "No"... ok, can you please phone my insurance company to get this covered? "no you have to do it yourself." uh really? NOT. it's just a miserable experience. Every time I walked up to the pharmacy counter, it reminded me of the green mile. I guess their own misery must rub off on everyone else. Just avoid this pharmacy all together. Better to use your mail order or go to that red store with a bulls-eye slogan in Rockville. Now that's a pleasant and professional pharmacy.
