I have shopped at many CVS Pharmacy stores in many different cities. This one is the most empty CVS I have ever seen! The minutes I walk into this CVS. I feel like I have walked into a warehouse with too much square footage but can't fill it up! The store looks empty, and the aisles are vast compared to most big box stores. I did not see any employees on the sales floor other than a couple of cashiers at the checkout line and the pharmacy window. The store is so quiet, with very few people in there. I had to switch to this location because I moved from Natomas. I've been inside to get my medication about four times now and each time, the staff is very unfriendly and lacks customer service. I'm not saying I expect fake niceness and smiling like A clown but at least greet me and maybe not act like you're miserable. I recently got a new medication and wasn't offered a consult with the pharmacist. At the time it was fine because I assumed that all inhalers are used the same way. I didn't realize it until I got home but the inhaler is different than any other one I've received so I had to look up online how to use it. I wish they took the time to meet with me. There were like seven staff members there so I know someone could have helped me. Customer service is trash pretty much everywhere now, so this is the norm I suppose. read more

I had a very expensive prescription, but according to the Good RX CVS was the only Pharmacy that was reasonably priced. The team picked up and ran with it, taking on an unknown customer and brought me right in and up to speed on their system. They are right around the corner from us too. The only reason I did not give a 5% is because they do not answer their phone. You have to leave a message for them to call back - every single time. That would be the only reason I would not switch to them, as I have a LOT of prescriptions. read more

I made a mistake by ordering a medication too early in the app. I normally get this medication from our insurance mail order pharmacy, and the RX was accidentally sent to this CVS because I had a recent eye surgery, and the surgeon wanted me to get some needed eye drop RX's locally in case I needed more. Not knowing on Monday how long it would take CVS to fill the RX, I pushed the button for the one that had been on hold, and it was still too early. My bad entirely. The young lady on the phone that I spoke to about it just a few minutes ago on Oct. 29, 2024, was so nice, and told me when we could pick it up, and that they would message me too! Came here to buy lotto tickets from their machine. It requires exact change since it doesn't give change so when to cashier to ask for change for $15. I frequent this location often and have never had a problem, until last night. My son and I went into the store to find some medicine to help with my sons extreme tooth pain. We were looking at the shelf of meds, when the security guard & a customer comes rushing up from my right saying, "excuse me, excuse me". I let them pass in front of me.... but they DIDN'T PASS, they stood in front of me and starting looking at the tooth pain meds!!! My son had to explain to the security guard that he was being rude as he obviously didn't have a clue. The security guard went to got an employee over to resolve the matter. The employee approached and said, "Is there a problem, because you don't look like you're buying anything". My mouth hit the floor, by this EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful remark! Needless to say, we walked out of there without purchasing anything. Then we had to make another stop, because the man was still in pain. Worst service ever from the Pharmacist named Madison. I went to pick up a prescription. They had 3 for me. I told them I only needed 1 of them and that even when the time came to pick up the others I would not take a substitution. This man came already confronting saying that my doctor had made a mistake and that my insurance would not pay for my medicine that's why they (CVS) substitute it. I did not have this kind of trouble at our previous CVS. I always picked up my Asthma medication and my insurance always paid for it. Just two weeks ago they insisted in giving me the replacement and I insisted in picking up my regular medicine, which I did! When he got caught in the lie that my insurance wouldn't pay, he put blame on my Doctor. He demanded to know how old was my doctor and how many years has she been practicing. He got louder and lauder, he printed two sheets of papers and said it was my doctor's fault because she hadn't mark the box for no substitution. He said he would reported right now that the doctor writes the prescriptions but employees send the faxes. At this time other employees were turning around to look at this man shouting at me for no good reason. I told him if he had a problem with my doctor then he was barking at the wrong tree. He continue his fit. I grabbed the papers and grabbed the new medicine and left. Just as a reminder Pharmacies never hand you a new prescription without the pharmacist okaying it and talking to the patient about the risks of the new medication. This young man was too busy belittling my doctor that he failed to perform his job! This is the third time I have some kind of an issue with this person. This is why I come to Yelp to write about his behavio. I hope this time CVS corporate sees it and gives this young man anger management treatment. I'll be asking my doctor to start filling my prescriptions elsewhere. This is ridiculous. I had a doctor's appointment on 2/19 at 8am. By 9am, they had sent my RX to the pharmacy. I did not get a text to pick up until 5:45pm. When I arrived, I waited in line for 30+ minutes (understandable due to the time), I get to the front desk and am told that there's a hold on the prescription. (Insurance only pays for generic.) I said that was fine- turns out, they don't have it and wouldn't until the next day. Frustrating but again, understandable. Just wish I hadn't gotten a text to pick up and they had done insurance verification prior. I asked to have the generic ready at 1pm the following day. Now on 2/21, waiting all day for a text and nothing. I send my sister to pick up at 7pm. STILL NOT READY. Pharmacists and staff don't care. Disappointed and frustrated. read more

The pharmacy staff are rude and outright liars. I'm there at around 9:30 this morning. I have 3 scrips to pick up. One is ready, but they tell me the other 2 are waiting for doctor approval. "The doctor" is the one sending. I left thinking maybe she's just new. So, basically, I've checked in, right? At around 3:00, I go back and tell the counter "woman" that I have 3 to pick up. She brings back a bag with one. I politely say there are 2 more, she says no. twice. Maam! I have 2 pain scripts that were verified this morning. "You'll have to talk to the pharmacist." Mind you, this started at 3 pm. I wait in line again, even letting a gentleman cut in to ask a simple question about a product. The guy couldn't even get his question out. No! You'll have to wait for the pharmacist! I got up there and asked for my 2 scripts, and bc there was an issue with the insurance approval, I said I would pay cash, as suggested by my doctor's MA. She told me that the prescription had to be denied by the insurance before I could pay cash. After I walked out, I called my doctors office and finally got to my medical assistant. She called CVS, and they told her they only sell to current customers. They have to be violating some law here. read more

This CVS is right by my Home, so needless to say, I shop and get my prescriptions filled here. I spend A LOT of money here. On Beauty products and more. I know a few of the employees and they know me. I just got off of work. I've had I prescription ready for pick up for almost a week, so I decided to shop and wait for the pharmacy to open. Like I DO SO OFTEN. Today, the two employees working, that I have never seen before, started following me through beauty. Asking me several times if I needed help in about 10 minuets. I didn't. Just like the first time I answered. And then they kept telling "security" to watch the beauty section on the cameras, over the intercom. Over and over. I was the only person in that section besides the guy that wouldn't stop tailing me. So for the last 15 minuets I've been sitting in pharmacy waiting for them to open. This location is in a semi-ghetto area, but the store is always clean and checkers knowledgeable and friendly. DO NOT FILL PRESCRIPTIONS HERE. I have five prescriptions, one of which is a narcotic. I have been having the same recurring issues with this pharmacy for over a year. 1. The pharmacy sits on refill requests for DAYS at a time. I have called in my prescriptions every month up to SIX DAYS in advance, including multiple follow up calls with the pharmacy AND my doctor's office to make sure that the information is actually being processed- and I still have to go without my pain meds for three to four days at a time EVERY MONTH! My doctor's office last month said they hadn't received any paperwork in the last four days from my pharmacy, when the pharmacy told me that they'd submitted the refill to the doctor six days ago when I first called them! 2. They NEVER answer their phones. I have called 3-6 times a day for the last SIX DAYS, FOUR OF WHICH WERE FULL BUSINESS DAYS, and the only human I ever talked to was a woman that answered the phone and said "please hold" before putting me on hold for TWENTY MINUTES. This place is awful, I'm changing my pharmacy because the service is absolutely terrible, over the phone and in person. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY IF YOU HAVE MANDATORY MEDICATION THAT YOU CAN'T GO WITHOUT. I COULD HAVE SEIZURES WITHOUT THIS MEDICATION AND I HAVE TO GO WITHOUT THREE TO FOUR DAYS A MONTH!!!??? Bye, bye CVS. You don't just suck, you swallow. How do you EVER stay in business by A: inability to properly bill insurance, B: Inability to EVER provide prescriptions in a timely manner? I mean, seriously...how have you not been sued by someone for failure to provide a needed medication in a timely manner? Has anyone died while waiting? I had been coming here when this place was Long's drugs and though their service was never stellar, it was at least adequate. I am now being forced to get my prescriptions outside of my neighborhood because, um, I don't know, Uh, I don't like living in pain while you wait 2 days to fill my pain meds scrip or I don't want my raging respiratory tract infection to morph into a double pneumonia while you decide whether or not you're gonna fill my scrip!!!! How about showing up 30 hours AFTER my prescription was ready for pick up and it STILL wasn't ready? I wouldn't have minded waiting another day if I had at least received a courtesy call. But did you? NO. Oh, and by the way, the last time I was there, I made sure I told your clerk it was my last time. I had grown in 6 months from being irritated with you to hating you and making sure everyone knows not to use you for any business whatsoever. What the hell is going on? Is it the area? I'm glad I don't live near here because I never want to go into this store again. I only went in because I was in the area and had time to kill so I decided to grab some things I needed anyway. The line had at least 7 customers in it, one eventually walked out. They had one cashier...she was in no hurry either. While ringing up customers she was answering call after call, showing customers how to use the "coupon center", and helping customers find stuff in the store!! When I got up to the register I mentioned that they needed more help. Her response, "I had to let her go on lunch." What?! You only have one other employee?? Either you have a really low budget or you are just a poor manager. If you absolutely cannot have 3 FTEs on at the same time then maybe you need to have 1 FTE (manager) and 2 PTEs, that way they can stagger coverage and you always have a minimum of 2 staff members at all times. Making customers wait is just unacceptable. read more

If it wasn't for the pharmacy, I would give this store another star simply because it's so clean, organized and you are almost always greeted when you enter, and usually also get a friendly goodbye. I wouldn't recommend the photo department, and I don't do a lot of shopping here, so I don't pay attention too much to what's in stock. I mainly use the pharmacy. Not a fan. 1. The line is too close the counter and seems like it must violate HIPAA laws. I really would rather not know the name, address, birth date and medication of the customer ahead of me, but that's how it goes when the line is so close. Try to speak in hushed tones if you don't need the line knowing your beeswax. 2. There's always a wait. 3. They regularly make billing mistakes and then instead of fixing the mistakes at the counter, they send you to wait in line again at the drop-off counter. (As an example of a mistake, they deleted my insurance information from their system. Just deleted it. Um, what?) read more

I was checking out and had a discounted lipgloss from this shelf but it was totaling to the original price 4.99 not subtracting the 50% off. I went back to the shelf to take a photo and made sure I had the right gloss because the two other glosses not in the right spot as you can see very messy. I went the cashier who said she can help me and called a manager to change the price since clearly the original prices matched and the name did as well. A late middle old aged lady(manager) came and looked at the price and said they are in the middle of price changes and moving the whole area. I had told her when I picked a lipgloss nobody was in the area changing prices or moving, it was at a end cap and they were taking covid test/vaccine in that area. I did notice there was people placing items on a wall across the end cap and chatting 35 feet away not even faced towards me. It was clear that she did not want to change the price and left to go check the brand of gloss without taking the gloss saying there was notting she could do. She came back and only told the cashier that she wasn't gonna do anything because it was the wrong gloss in there, without even matching the gloss tag she left! I give it two stars cause the cashier apologized for the mangers act and now I know where to return my items. Every business runs price changes weekly if not every day sorry you can't be organized enough to run it. If you're really broke $2.49 for what you advertise then you have a problem with customer service. read more

I have a huge problem with this pharmacy, specifically the regular pharmacist. If you are on Norco's for chronic pain, run out, have dental surgery where the dentist gives you a small prescription for that pain, then come back in with your normal script, all within insurance guidelines, he will tell you that he won't fill it, deleting your script and tell you to go somewhere else. So much for customer service! I know it doesn't matter but I am taking my business elsewhere. Avoid this place! read more

Worst CVS I've ever been to. I really needed to get a passport photo taken recently and I swear I probably would've got better service at your local Walmart in the hood . Sorry excuse for photo department. The customer service was terrible , I only received apology from their manager after receiving my over exposed passport photo that didn't work . The associate that took my photo didn't even know how to do refunds , so management should definitely retrain Arturo or he should go work at a farmers market where it isn't as complex for him . After I got sent to the cashier for a refund , she started to doubt that the picture did work and that it wasn't over exposed, assuming I was lying . I was receiving rude service from her. I honestly can't give this place a bad review just because there are wierdos or "ghetto" people outside. Yes, it's Elkhorn and this is Sacramento mind you and it's really not as bad as South Sac or North Highlands. I personally found that the cashier, especially the older lady that works the late shift to be very friendly. The manager has a bit of a stick up her butt, but I guess you have to be more rough around the edges here. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice lady, but she's a little hardcore when it comes to following the rules of the rain checks especially writing them. She's the only CVS manager I know that will put the exact product (variety, flavor, scent, etc) on the check. It's almost as if she feels motivated to not honor certain deals. I'm getting off topic a bit, but bottom line is that this is a clean store. I personally have not used the pharmacy, but when it comes to my overall shopping experience, this place is good. My son had four wisdom teeth pulled out last Thursday and I was having a problem with my insurance they were putting the refill on hold I came back in and talk to them and they said they would get it filled. and a nice pharmacist name Joe help me out and advised me what to give my son until my prescription was filled.and when the medicine was ready he explained all the medication to me and I really appreciate all his help. he gave great customer service is awesome. read more

This pharmacy screwed up and I ended up paying for my prescription out of pocket. My doctor was diligent and sent the prescriptions to this pharmacy electronically on 7/24/21 and received confirmation of receipt. The pharmacy claims they did not get them. I explained to the pharmacy the urgency as my insurance was about to expire. My doctor resent them. I got there to pick them up and they said my thyroid medicine was on order. I explained that my insurance was expiring that day as I had told them before. They received the order in enough time to have the item in stock. They failed act as my doctor sent all scripts and received confirmation, yet they say they only receive two scripts. I've been going to CVS since 1992, and I won't anymore. Failure to act on their part should not be financially detrimental to me. I was also told at the front of the store that they get complaints from customers about the pharmacy all the time; they apologized for the problem and suggested I find a better CVS Pharmacy to go to. read more

They really don't care about patient privacy and don't help when you call to tell them that they told someone else your medication. In fact all the pharmacist did was say "I don't know how that happened". Also, the bathroom is absolutely disgusting, the sink is basically black and they didn't have any soap or toilet seat covers. read more
