Unbelievable this CVS pharmacist is so rude. My wife came home from picking up my daughter prescription and the bottle was leaking she goes back and the pharmacist that was rude that helped her earlier pretend to switch the bottle out. How do I know if my daughters meds are contaminated from the leakage. The Vietnamese pharmacist who helped my wife acted like she didn't want to be there. She had a stank face look the whole time. I myself am a employee of CVS and this is not the CVS culture that we are trained. I will be transferring all my families prescription. And having my own store prep them. This CVS pharmacy is great! Transferred my prescriptions here from another CVS because this location is always able to trouble shoot and complete the request so timely. I started to give up on CVS after experiences in SF previously and Marin. Look no further. Amazing pharmacists and pharmacy staff can be found at 32nd Ave!!! Even when there is a line they are able to pull staff to get patients helped right away. If you need a prescription filled then this place is worth the trip. read more

Hello Yelpers, I've lived in the Outer Richmond for 2+ years now and I've been coming to this CVS since I moved in. I just felt the need to get on here and give the biggest shout out to my all time favorite CVS employee NANCY Every time I walk through the doors, boom! There's Nancy with the biggest smile on her face. We make eye contact. She smiles some more. I wave to her. She waves back and says "Hey there hun!! How's it going?" and my day is IMMEDIATELY better She's super friendly, knows where everything is, and is always there to help me or any of her other fans (customers). She should probably have her own fb page or twitter acct based on her personality...i dunno. Either way, if you're reading this CVS, know that I really appreciate her consistently positive attitude and will continue shopping here as long as she works here. That's all I've got. I really wish I didn't live so near this place because it's turning me into a cheap drugstore cosmetics slut, which I'm pretty sure is the worst kind of slut you could be. To be fair, CVS definitely has nicer and a wider variety of skin care products than Walgreens, but still...not good for my compulsive tendencies. Speaking of sluts, you can buy giant variety sized boxes of condoms and lube and other normally locked up things here without having to ask someone to unlock them from behind a case first and awkwardly hand them to you. I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE THE LAST TWO VISITS, and am seriously concerned that this pharmacy is INCAPABLE OF ADMINISTERING THE COVID VACCINE to the public. On Nov 8, 2020, I had to wait about 30 minutes at the register. Cashier entered my correct phone number 4 times for rewards, but each time, it was rejected.Finally another employee stated that the system was out. The cashier should have known that and there should have been a system in place to facilitate my purchase. On Nov 16, 2020, I reminded the cashier that I get a discount for purchasing two of the same item and was assured that I will. When I arrived home and checked the receipt, there was no discount. Now I have to unnecessarily return to this pharmacy to correct the mistake. read more

I don't write reviews often, much less bad reviews. But I can't believe the service I have received at CVS. I have never tried them before and I thought I would give them a try. Previously I was a regular Walgreen's customer. 1-My prescription at CVS came to $90 with insurance. The prior month at Walgreen's I paid under $20 for the same medication. 2-I had to call TWICE for them to transfer the prescription to Walgreen's. 3-When they finally transferred it over, not all the information was communicated. i.e. the dosage. 4-When I had to call them a third time to explain the situation, they said, "We don't have anything on file for you." I was there two days ago in person and I have been talked to them multiple times. 5-CVS said there was nothing they can help me with in regards to Walgreen's and that I need to call Walgreen's back and have Walgreen's call them again. UGHHHHHHH What a pain! I will never use them again even if they are closer to my home. Good thing this prescription wasn't urgent. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if I needed me medication on time. read more

I was here last week shopping for a few items and after checking out my kids needed to use the restroom. We went in, and there was urine all over the restroom floor! How disguising! I've been going here since they opened in 2011 and this CVS used to be clean. I've also purchased an expired coconut water last month by accident. Note to the manager- please clean your restroom and keep track of your inventory's expiration dates. Also, your employees look so sad working there. I love this CVS. I have never had a bad experience here. It's super easy to pick up odds and ends for school and work (and the occasional treat!). It's the perfect community store - the staff is always super sweet and available to help, often times going above and beyond. Lots of love to the 32nd st CVS staff! read more

The store is usually not very busy from the past few visits in recent months. I like the layout of the store since I could easily find what I needed. Items range from beauty products to yummy snacks. I usually get the hair products and it is always in stock, never had to go to a staff. The ambience of the store is bright and very clean like any CVS stores. I never knew CVS has its own self-checkout stations mostly because I'm too use to going to Walgreen's where a staff checks out the items for you. Overall, a very good store to get you essensials. Usually a staff at the entrance greets the customer upon entering which is very nice and a must in terms of customer relation. This store surprisingly also has a small selection of Asian snacks which I like because I go school in SoCal and they don't sell any there. Will definitely shop here in between this and other places. read more

Came here to redeem my free beverage coupon. They did not have 2% milk but after asking the sales associate they quickly stocked more. The coupon machine also popped out a bogo gum coupon so I picked up 2 packs of gum for 50 cents. Clean and a decent sized parking lot, if I have business at CVS, I wouldnt mind coming to this one again. read more

Come right in, scan your rewards card and see if you have any useful coupons. Now, go have some fun! I think the deal with this CVS is that it never has the same things. So you are bound to find new stuff and not finding the old stuff you wanted. The store is nice and neat and they have a good selection of make-up (which is all we want, let's be honest) that Walgreens doesn't have. Especially cruelty free make up (ELF, Physicians Formula, Milani, NYX). However, they didn't have Milani today, which is a super shame. While you are strolling along the aisles, employees will come to you to check if you have found everything you need. That is thoughtful and helpful. When a person just wants a $1 drink or something simple, found CVS was cheaper than Fresh and Easy. Was thirsty so walked around Fresh and Easy looking for something to drink. All their drinks were $2+ except for water. So I remember there was a CVS next door and got myself a grape juice for $1.10. read more

Apparently there is a "student" policy that, no more than two people under the age of 18, are allowed in there unaccompanied by an adult. All of those under 18 unaccompanied by an adult, would have to leave their belongings on the table by the front door. Clearly, the store will not be responsible for any damages. The staff members also stare at students, making them uncomfortable. This is age discrimination and also a form of harassment. It is not the customers' problem that they have poor security, do not take it out on your customers. Even if it is a 12 year old, they are still a customer. This is a big lawsuit waiting to happen. The CVS Pharmacy at the 32nd Avenue location is fantastic! The pharmacy staff are helpful, knowledgeable and provide excellent customer service. Special mention to Cynthia Do, the pharmacist on staff. She is extremely helpful and patience in explaining about the medicines. The store staff are polite, friendly and helpful. They carry most over the counter products like Walgreen, the store is clean and organized. This CVS is also right next door to Fresh and Easy, so convenient you can pick up your meds and do your grocery shopping without driving to another location. read more

Absolutely horrible. There's a "one student at a time policy" which makes absolutely no sense. The workers here only allow one person under the age of 18 in at a time and force them to put their belongings on a table where they can be easily stolen. Apparently they are afraid of thieves stealing their items, but that is no excuse! Their lack of security is no reason to discriminate against kids. This place is a wreck. Pharmacy is a nightmare because of the technology. I got a text asking me to refill. I responded 'No' and got a message saying that the Rx would NOT be refilled. Good! Then a day later I got a text saying that the Rx was filled. I clicked through the app to try to cancel it, but that feature was not available. I had to call the pharmacy. I called and waited and waited and finally got a person who spoke broken English. He said he canceled the order. I wanted to raise an issue with the unauthorized refill, but he acted like he didn't understand me. I asked to speak to a manager, but after more waiting, I finally hung up. read more

Why was Nancy the most adorable lady ever?? She made my night. I stopped in here for the first time with my son. Nancy greeted us with a super friendly, enthusiastic tone. She said merry Christmas to my little guy and later continued to help him find the toy cars, and played cars w him lol So sweet! She was super helpful too. And she seemed to know everyone coming in there, and remembered things about her customers. You can tell she brings the community together, and is just a positive, upbeat person. People like her make many people's days better, just because of how genuine and kind she is. I hope you get a huge raise and bonus, Nancy! ;) People like you deserve it! read more

CVS does not take care of the trash in the parking lots and areas around their store. Until they start taking better care of their property, I will not be shopping there. Update: CVS is now cleaning up their property, after much much work on the part of neighbors to get them to do so. read more

I used to love Long's -- the pre-cursor to CVS-- back where I came from.... There was service, excellent pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and good hours. But I probably will not be returning to the pharmacy at this CVS, though I will happily use the CVS store due to the amazing store manager, Darren. He was WONDERFUL, and made my day Friday. He remedied situation #2 below, giving 150% in order to get my prescription to me. THANK YOU again Darren. Truly a good person and manager. I hope you go far! Back to the pharmacy portion of this CVS, however, please note 2 of the 3 lame experiences I had with pharmacy assistants there who were not exactly trained to retain their customers. Incident 1. Before coming in to pick up prescriptions before a trip In June I called to make sure both would be ready after 5. Yes, said a real pharmacy staff person over the phone (not an auto-phone machine answer). So I came in after work that day at 5:45. There was a line 9 people deep before me. I waited half an hour to get up to the clerk. When the assistant looked up my meds, however, he came empty handed back to the counter and said that there would be a wait of 20-45 minutes as my prescriptions hadn't been prepared yet. Whaaa???? I asked if he could check as I had called, but he said he had and could only say he was sorry. I had to leave the new EpiPen and albuterol inhaler prescriptions behind. Incident 2. My Rx was called in Thursday by my doctor. It was an antibiotic that I couldn't pick up that day before they closed. So I called the next morning, Friday, to make sure it was prepared. I spoke with one of the pharmacy staff and she said that it was ready. I said I would be over shortly. I took my lunch break an hour or so later to drive over to the pharmacy to get the medication. This time I had a shorter line wait-- only 10 minutes -- but when I got to the counter and the clerk checked for the medication, I was told that I couldn't purchase the anitbiotic until the pharmacist returned FROM LUNCH as it was a new Rx and their risk policy was to not release an Rx without the pharmacist discussing the Rx with the patient. HEY! My doctor already did! And it is only tetracycline! And only ONE DOSE! And my doctor has my medical record. But policy aside, I was on a lunch break and couldn't return again after work because I had appointments downtown that evening. (See above regarding Darren the store manager to whom I complained and who bent over backwards to get the Rx to me that afternoon-- thanks Darren). Courtesy Suggestion to Outer Richmond CVS PHARMACY: Remind clerks that pharmacies serve their customers best when they communicate such things as pharmacy closures when a customer has called to inquire whether a prescription is ready. That is, the staff member who spoke with me when i called in that morning should have informed me that the pharmacist takes a lunch break and that since the Rx was new, I would NOT be able to purchase it between this hour and that one, as the pharmacist need to review the Rx with me. read more

I like the convenience of this store in my community and the low prices. There are self check out stands that are easy to use. The store isn't very busy like Walgreens and it might be because people aren't familiar with this location. There are regular union protesters outside the store as of this writing and I wondered about the big deal is. I talked with an employee about their working conditions and he said that CVS just passed around an employee voluntary waiver form to waive the legal requirement of offering medical insurance to employees. Why would people want to sign that if they aren't going to be compensated in another way? Then I asked about the sick leave policy and he wasn't aware that any was in force. I know that San Francisco passed a proposition a few years ago making sick leave mandatory for employers. I understand that most of the employees are part time probably because the store doesn't want to offer the benefits of full time. I guess that's why prices are generally less than other convenience stores. I would feel more comfortable about going to CVS if I knew that they treat their employees a little better. read more

Ok... so how I start this. I do live on 31st Avenue and you would think; nice! A local pharmacy I could count on , just a block from my place. Wrong!! Awful customer service. Today I stopped by , just to grab a shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo, everything would probably cost me 60 dollars. The supplies I needed were locked in an anti theft container, and I needed assistance with someone opening up for me in order to grab those. Well, I asked the cashier, and she requested someone to help me , no one ever showed up. I walked around the store asking for help. No one either worked there or had the key. I finally gave up after 15 minutes waiting like an idiot, and took my business to Walgreens on Geary. I will not be coming back to this pharmacy even though it's a block from where I live. read more

Sadly I came to really know this place due to the fact that my wife was battling cancer. I pretty much lived at the pharmacy and can say we all know each other by first name. While the pharmacy team is very professional and skilled - the store is quite big and has a huge variety of products: aspirin to food and wine. I am always greeted upon entering the store and have never dealt with any employee who wasn't sincerely interested in providing me the best experience possible. In terms of their selection, this CVS is just like any other CVS, but what sets this store apart from the rest is the excellent customer service. I love how they greet you when you walk through the doors, and they're always ready to help when you need it. I always get such excellent customer service here! I had an especially wonderful experience with Nancy right before closing time. Nancy really went above and beyond in making sure my needs were met. Although it was the end of her shift and I'm sure she was tired, it almost seemed as though she was just getting started and nothing could ruin her day! Her attitude really affected how her customer service was. It's evident that she really cares about the customers that stumble into this CVS and it's important to her that hey leave happy. This review is for the actual pharmacy, not that store. The store is fine, the pharmacy is great. Fantastic! I have a condition that requires more care and medication than I really care to have (in a word, it sucks) and these guys have been really great since I switched from Costco. They knew me by name after my second visit, they offer great feedback, advice and insightful information about the medications I take. They even called me to check up on a medication I no longer have to take. Customer service like that is so appreciated. They're in the neighborhood and even though part of a corporate chain, the people here really make it feel like a small neighborhood pharmacy. I recommend this pharmacy to everyone, even if it's a bit out of your way (it's not mine, very close)... It's a nice neighborhood out here and the CVS is right next door to a Fresh & Easy. It's super! So, great customer service, always friendly and very knowledgeable. 5 stars easy! read more

I agree with Ivan V! Don't waste your time at this location. Visiting from out of town and this CVS did not have my script in stock. Even when I explained I was in from out of town and leaving in two days they offered no help in terms of seeing which other CVS had it in stock or if another item they had on the shelf was comparable. I was left on hold several times as I was passed from person to person. When I said hey - my home town CVS would use they system to see where it was available... the man I was speaking to said "LATER today I will look around and see where it is available." I don't know the city so I just started dialing the next closest CVS. 3600 Geary Blvd 415-668-6083 quickly understood and within 2 minutes looked online to see that 1285 Sutter 415-923-5863 had one in stock. I called them. They confirmed and said we will transfer the script and have it ready in an hour. No more than 10 minutes passed before I received a text saying it was ready for pickup. The difference in service between 337 32nd St (horrible!!!) and 3600 Geary and 1285 Sutter was night and day. Don't waste your precious time at this pharmacy - clearly they don't have a problem wasting yours! read more

This place has really gone downhill. It's like they are taking thier cue from the defunct Fresh and Easy next door. The urban decay is spreading: with cracks in the parking lot and algae on the stucco, you could say "the writing is on the wall." They have fewer and fewer cashiers, forcing you into the maddening self-checkout that never works until you get help anyway. Last time I was in there I tried to buy some Sudafed, but I could not because their system was down, so they could not track whether I am a meth cook or not and therefore could not sell it to me. I left all the other stuff I had picked out right on the pharmacy counter and walked out. I Even though I work two blocks away and the store is convenient, I will not be going back. read more

We were beyond excited to learn that CVS was opening right in our neighborhood. No more trips to Target - just a short walk to the endless source of hair products, make up and toilet paper. the reality turned out to be not so glamourous - EVERY SINGLE time i go to pick up prescription there seems to be something wrong, doesn't even matter if you call ahead.. but i gues it's not a big deal to them - only a few trips to the store and you can finally get your prescription, and sometimes even you don't have to wait in line very long, while the pharmacists talks on the phone or chats with some friends not noticing you there holding the crying baby who needs a prescription.. But it's fine - I don't really have a choice, I can walk 10 blocks to walgreens, but it can be kind of far with a new born in Richmond fog, so I choose not to. But my main complaint is about their photo department and MANAGEMENT in general. I dropped of a photo order in store - there were no customers at all. Just me and a sales clerk. I confirmed with him that an hour photo takes an hour, asked a few questions about paper and photo printing. He assured me that they will do their best and told me to come back in 30 minutes. Important part here is that i have a newborn baby, who was with me and the photos were not my personal, but for another company, so it was important they were ready by that evening. Time on the clock when i dropped it off was 2pm. I'm back at 3:30 and photos didn't even start printing. And no one seemed to know what was going on. I just waited for 30 minutes to talk to someone. It turned out that their machines were all jammed or something and they didn't even notice it. I waited in the store until 7pm as i really needed those photos.. I kept asking how long it will take, and not even getting a response.. They didn't tell me that there were orders in front of mine printing. They could have just asked me to come back at a certain time. No, they made wait for 3 + hours with a baby in my arms in the store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The funny thing is that the photos were such a bad quality, that i had to redo them that night at home on my own printer... read more

This CVS is really great. They have a wide variety of products and its really organized so if you need something specific its really easy to find. It was my first time there this weekend and I was really impressed. We were browsing around for almost an half and hour. I my neighborhood there are mostly Walgreens so this CVS is really refreshing as walgreens always the same old products, CVS had items I had never seen before. I opted not to do the self checkout and got rung up. The girl there was friendly and the manager was there on hand to aid the checkout girl when I asked a question she wasn't too sure how to answer.
