My husband just got out of emergency oral surgery and we needed a pain medication prescription filled with urgency. As we usually use the drive thru at the Main Street location to help with social distancing, we called there first to see if we could get our prescription filled there. The pharmacist was very helpful; she said that they didn't have the medicine available at her location but gave us the number of the San Gabriel/Las Tunas location to check there. But when I called and asked about the medication, the male pharmacist who answered refused to even answer my question about whether or not they had the medication. I explained further that I was just checking to see if we could even get it filled there (I'm trying to avoid the heavy traffic, covid lines and wait time at Kaiser) and that we had the prescription ready. He just repeated his answer without offering any additional explanation. It's frustrating, because it would be much faster to get the pain medication from someplace local than to wait for Kaiser, and there seemed to be no reason for him to withhold the information about the medicine when we had already spoken to another CVS pharmacist who was helpful and clear about answering our questions. I hope that the company, when reviewing this, will be able to offer better guidance to their customers instead of being dismissive without explanation. read more

The cashier Rae was so rude. I came since I had a $5 coupon. I went to purchase with my coupon. I told her I didn't bring my cvs card and she said how can I use the coupon if I didn't bring my CVS card. HELLOOO I never had to. Then she asks if I had a number. So dumb. Does not have the best parking structure, but it has the most friendly staff I've ever seen compare to other cvs stores in Sgv. Pharmacists were very friendly and patient to answer my concerns. Get your photos printed at the kodak printing kiosk, the 4x6 only cost 29 cents. read more

Bought a lipstick and find out it was used by someone else in the parking lot. So I go back and try to switch to another one but the other one is even worse. I thought maybe the same price product will make everything easier. But I was totally wrong, the old lady told me that I can't switch to another lipstick with the same price. And the only way she can do for me is return this product. So I had to accept refund and accept those coupon I used will not work for the new lipstick I want to switch. (She didn't tell me before I return the product that my coupon will not work on the new one.)So much fun. So disappointed. Definitely will not comes back to this cvs again. Good, clean place for all your convenience needs! Their straightener/curlers selection is limited. They have plenty of hair dyes, but I do believe that it 's maybe a dollar or two cheaper at Target. Had a HORRIBLE experience here at the Pharmacy. Went there to pick up Mucinex D. First waited 15 min in line while a lady spoke to the only Pharmacy Clerk at 7PM at night debating if they had her prescription or not. After that I asked the clerk if I could get Mucinex D since I was sick. He asks for my ID - and takes about 10 min while filling out my information. Normally this was a swipe of the ID - but hey I was sick and needed the medicine. After 10 min, the clerk states their "Systems Are Down" and he can't fill the order right now. Now I was there in Person, Gave the guy the ID, and he still wouldn't sell me Mucinex D. I wasn't asking for Oxy Cotin - it was Mucinex. So I asked him if he would please sell since I was sick and he said I should come back maybe tomorrow or the next day. Now I'm sick today - why would I want it two days from now. The service here is horrible and this is pretty par for the course for CVS' in general. I took my 28 bucks I was going to spend and went to Walgreens. Avoid this place at ALL COSTS. read more

I came here today, 1/10/13, because I had bought a $70.00 Macy's gift card on 12/22/12 for a friend. Unfortunately, she went to Macy's yesterday and as she was at the cashier attempting to pay for her item, she was told by the associate that the card was at a big fat zero balance...Yikes! Of course, she called me and I was pretty embarrassed about it. No matter what happens, I will make it right I told her. So, back to today. I was already feeling crappy and just left the urgent care. I went in with my receipt and the card. I spoke to the first cashier. She said she could not help me, but would call the manager. The manager, Ron, assisted me and he made a call to his DM. At the end, he credited me back and I got another Macy's card from them for the same amount. According to Ron, their corporate had info that on the night I purchased the gift card, there were problems with the activation of gift cards, where it showed the card being activated, but, for some unknown reason, it didn't. At the end, I was satisfied of the service - and of course, my issue being resolved without me leaving the place mad. I always come to this CVS and will continue to. Staff has always been friendly and professional. In regards to this incident, everyone there from the cashier to the manager did the right thing and not just blow me off. 5 stars in my book for sure. Now, let's see when my friend uses her gift card and it does not work again, then, it will be no stars...LOL read more

Phot processing was super quick and efficient - you insert your Sd card, choose your pix and BAM, the pictures are printing! The hardest part is finding someone to key in the approval code for you, because there is always only one person at the cash register - but there are like two to three people chilling in the back. Super weird. I've seen only that one cashier even when the line is five or six people deep! I know there are people in the back because if you push open the flappy doors, you can see them hanging out. Then you ask them to key in the approval code for you to print your pictures. Cool thing about the photo printer too is that if you have video, you can take shots and still from the video and print them. Super awesome! Especailly when your dad says he took ten pictures, and you realize he really took ten 3-4 second videos. read more

I don't really come here that often unless I'm by Half & Half next door and need to get something quick. This CVS is generally pretty organized, but pretty small. It also closes at 10pm (unlike other 24 hour CVS pharmacies), so don't think you can swing by here when you're passing by on a Friday night after 10 and need to pick up some condoms for a booty call (I've seen several incidences of couples trying to walk up to a closed CVS late at night, but maybe I'm just assuming on the booty call part). There's usually only one cashier working. This CVS isn't as popular as the one on Main Street. There is a Drive Thru pharmacy though. Helpful hint: if you're here looking for some club soda, you won't see it in the soda section. It is actually near the alcohol. read more

Love this San Gabriel (California) pharmacy/store. Moved to this area 2 years ago and have been their customer ever since. For the last few months (2020), they started offering free shipping for my medications. I am so grateful for that. Good parking - plenty of spaces. I highly recommend this Cvs location for its highly trained and friendly pharmacy staff, and helpful sales people. My prescriptions are always ready on time and the pharmacy staff is always there to answer any questions I may have. The people up front always greet you with a friendly hello and are unfailingly friendly and polite. normally this cvs is as good as any other...EXCEPT this review pertains to the INCOMPETENCY of their pharmacy section i would give NEGATIVE stars if it were possible and since my experience was so horrid // after showing him my insurance card, the person said they had my eyedrops but i didn't have a prescription card...and said he would need to contact my insurance company before he could give the said eyedrops he would call me when it became available you would think an hour would be enough? concerned i called the pharmacy 1.5 hours later...the attendant said he thinks he photocopied my card incorrectly and would call me back another 2 hours or so pass before he calls me to say, it's after hours and they can't reach my insurance company so he "can't give me EYE drops" FINE....i go back to pick up the prescription about to pay out of pocket for the expense....when the guy goes "oh, i filled the prescription for 5 mL when it's supposed to be 10mL" he returns my prescription to me stating "we'll just leave it at that" AT WHAT? HE DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING IN THE 3+ HOURS HE HAD MY PRESCRIPTION A COLOSSAL WASTE OF MY TIME...did i mention this was a prescription for my eyes? probably one of the most sensitive and vital body parts anyone has?! read more

I checked out with Kristina, who claimed to be the manager, and she was really rude towards me while trying to check out. The label on the display said my items were BOTH $1.99 and claimed she could only sell me one for the price shown because one was ringing up full price, when both items were clearly labeled as being the same price. While trying to explain to her that both items were advertised as being the same price, she said that she knew more than me because she was the manager but that she would sell me both items for $1.99 so I would stop the commotion. They turn away my perfectly fine $10 extra bucks rewards that was sent directly by email from cvs. The sales associate said they don't take coupons from the phone and that I would need to print it out. He said its corporate policy. Come on, get with the technology!!!!????? It's 2015. Everyone uses their phones now. You want me to print out the coupon and waste trees. I wasted my time shopping at your store. The coupon DOES NOT have a disclaimer saying MUST print coupon and bring in a paper coupon!!! If that is the case then I would bring in a paper coupon. The coupon via my email says to scan the barcode, if unable to scan, key in the number manually!! Very lame to send a coupon that consumers can't use easily. Very disappointed in CVS. read more

I always come here for my random quick grab need and they almost always have what I'm looking for. They are pretty organized here and sometimes have great sales. They also decorate nicely for the seasons which is nice. They also have a fairly large beverage section for a cvs with some higher prices items. Not too bad for a cvs. read more

This cvs is pretty much like all the others. There's one cashier that's really friendly. She mainly works the closing shift. Because she saw that I always bring in my own reusable bag she told me about their leaf. The leaf is a card that you use with your extra care card everytime you shop with a reusable bag they scan it and after 4 uses you get a $1 extra buck. I love getting the extra bucks because they basically gift certificates good for almost anything in the store ( minus alcohol and cigarettes I'm sure) I like the $1 section of snacks. When I first moved to the area I picked up snacks from here all the time. Cookie and brownie mix, small boxes of cereal, and even jack links beef jerky for $1! I also like that their weekly ad tells you not only what products are on sale but which ones will have a coupon in the Sunday paper for extra savings! Score!!!! read more

I love coming to this store, especially when Brian or Amarilis are working. They are my favorite. They're always in a good mood with a big smile & that puts me in a good mood & makes me smile. The store is always clean & well organized & ALL the employees are friendly & helpful. They always acknowledge me & ask me if I need any help if they run into me in an isle. I'm ALWAYS greeted when I walk in the door no matter how busy they are or what they're doing. At the check-out counter they always make friendly small talk & ask me if I found everything I was looking for. I LOVE THIS STORE. Even though it's part of a large chain of pharmacies, most of the workers there make it feel like a small town drug store. The two I mean the most are Andrew and Ruth, they really make you feel welcome. The parking lot is small, but that's not really CVS' fault. (There is also more parking located in another structure below the above ground one.) This place is definitely a great way to get the things that you need in a pinch. read more

I have too many experiences coming here and trying to get something and failing. 1 time because there was a coupon for 99 cents for a 12-pack of soda, but the Coupon Center machine was broken and failed to give me the coupon. Another time because I wanted to pay using a CVS gift card, but the cashiers' machines were down and so they could not accept any CVS gift cards for payment. A third time when I stopped by at 10pm on a Friday but they were closed already. read more

great staff willing to provide customer service. this cvs is the closest to my house so i come here pretty often to pick up small items for the house and i choose them for most of my prescriptions and refills. the pharmacy staff is super friendly and are really polite. sometimes we even have genuine small talk while they're ringing me up. most of the time i pay for my purchases at the pharmacy when i'm picking up refills so that makes it super convenient. the lines are never long at the regular registers though. they're also pretty friendly with a smile and seem to know what they're doing. the store is normally clean and tidy. the parking lot is fairly small for the plaza but i'm really glad that cvs has their reserved parking for their customers so i never have a problem finding close parking. read more

I've been to this CVS more often now with my grandma, I can't seem to never remember the names of the staff here but the ladies are so nice and welcoming. There are several CVS around my area and this one just happened to set inside the plaza where I get my milk tea from. One night I was craving for half & half milk tea and after getting the drink, I decided to go shopping at CVS to see if there is anything on special sale. After couple mins up the down the aisles, I didn't see anything that I need so I was heading out the door and that is when a guy came up to me and said to me that this is not a tea house and if you are not here to buy stuff, leave!. Personally I don't think there is a policy forbidding customer to take drinks into the store so I didn't bother to stay and waste more time. read more
