this is my favorite cvs around for several reasons. -they carry the mexican baby wipes that are only about $1.29 for 80. the only other place i know that sells them are the walgreens on mckee and capitol on the east side. the other cvs' (on foxworthy and camden) and walgreens nearby don't have them. -we always see the same older lady (think her name's dianne?) when we come in on tuesdays, and she's very sweet. all the staff we encounter are very helpful and friendly. -the discount rack is clearly located (in the back of the toiletries area near the pharmacy) and full of deals. i frequently buy lotion, cold pills, blankets, etc etc for 90% off. and i'm a sucker for a deal. -easy parking during the day. however, the door closer to the street is permanently locked, you have to go to the right side door. as it's san jose, you have to bring your own bags, of course. read more

I had an extremely odd and disconcerting experience on Xmas eve that I feel a need to share with you today (Xmas PastDay) -- Only because I was too busy to put this in writing until today. PLEASE BOYCOTT CVS PHARMACY. This little story may well be the worst customer service experience I can recall ever having. CVS is the company that just recently landed in California after buying out Long's Drugs and it is already apparent that they have little or no concern for their clientele or the public in general. On the evening of 12/23 we found a set of keys on the road near our home in the Santa Cruz Mts. On the morning of 12/24 [Xmas Eve] I noticed that there key ring had a tag on it marked CVS pharmacy/EXTRA CARE, with a bar code and membership number on it. Turns out this is like a Safeway card/frequent flyer card for CVS. I figured this would be an easy no brainer way to locate/contact the person who is probably looking all over to find his/her keys. I first called the 800 number on the tag to tell them that I had one of their customer's keys and asked them to contact that person to let them know and to give them my contact info so we can arrange to get the keys into the proper hands. First person I spoke with was too stupid to understand what I was trying to accomplish, so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor immediately said he couldn't help me due to 'company policy." So I asked for his supervisor. I explained the situation to that person; and he was the first to ask what the membership number on the tag was; but then gave me the same BS company line that he could not and would not contact the owner of the keys unless and until I delivered the keys to a local CVS store. I tried to explain to this numbskull that : A. I live in a rural area 20 plus minutes from the nearest CVS store; B. It is likely that the keys belong to someone in our neighborhood which is 20 or more minutes drive from their nearest store; C. It is Xmas Eve and I was extremely busy and unable to take an hour out of my day to drive down to the town which is probably jammed packed with last minute shoppers; D. The poor person who is probably frantically searching for his/her keys may well be just a minute or 2 from me; E. It made NO SENSE for me and for the keys' owner to travel to town needlessly when a simple phone call could resolve the problem; F. I was not asking CVS to divulge their customer's contact info to me, but I was simply trying to do a good deed and was more than willing to give the CVS person my contact info for him to act as a conduit of the necessary information; and G. "IT IS CHRISTMAS EVE FERCRISSAKES, ALL CONCERNED ARE WAY TOO BUSY FOR THIS NONSENSE. JUST DO THE RIGHT THING, CALL MR. OR MRS. JONES AND TELL HIM/HER THAT THE KEYS HAVE BEEN LOCATED AND WORK OUT THE SIMPLE LOGISTICS TO GET THEM BACK INTO HIS OR HER HANDS. CAN IT GET ANY SIMPLER THAN THAT??" Believe it or not, the supervisor's supervisor still gave me that same worn out old line "Sorry, it's against company policy." I must confess that all I could do was tell this idiot what a moron he was; and then I hung up. I then called the closest CVS down in town. I got the store manager on the line and explained the situation to him. I figured the local guy would understand the situation and perhaps have some empathy for one of his loyal customers searching for his house & car keys on Xmas Eve. He claimed he wanted to help and would call me back. Amazingly, his company line was that CVS would not even divulge to him any contact information for their "loyal customer" unless and until I delivered the keys to the store. I told him that was not possible that day; and that he should at least take whatever steps possible to advise the keys' owner that the keys had been found and give him/her the option of deciding how to make the connection. No dice said the idiot store manager. Bottom line--- CVS PHARMACY figures they are so far ahead of their competition that they do not need to provide meaningful customer service. I wasted almost an hour on an already busy day trying to accomplish a very simple task that should have taken only a few moments. Whatever happened to good ole fashioned common sense and customer service???? I will no longer patronize CVS and I ask everyone else to do likewise. BTW-- I have posted the "LOST KEYS FOUND" on Craigslist. We'll see. On a lighter note, hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season. Very poor customer service! Went in to refill my prescription on 12/27, but was told that I cannot receive it until Jan 1. New store policy or something, but fine. I go back on Jan 1 and now they tell me that I already received my refill on 12/27 according to their records. Of course I said that was a mistake and explained what had happened. This led to back and forth phone calls between the pharmacy and my insurance company. After a couple hours the situation was finally resolved and I got my refill. CVS needs to keep better track of records or retrain their staff for proper data entry. The whole experience was unacceptable! read more

my friend worked at this place for a while and he even said it was crappy. i walked in there just now looking for midol and it took me 10 of searching their pain-reliever isle find something remotely close.It just annoys me that they're a pharmacy and THEY DON'T HAVE MIDOL,PAMPRIN,OR ANY TYPE OF MENSTRUAL PAIN RELIEVER. read more

Why does CVS hire people like Mauro and Asian grandma?! I've always liked going to my local CVS. Away from home, I stopped at this location.. big mistake! Now I hate cvs.. long story short, I bought a lot of stuff.. my child wanted to use the bathroom and I explained that we will in a minute after I pay. Asked the pharmacist who said we should ask for the key up front. I went to pay, at Asian grandma's register, and I was greeted with an UGH! Seriously?! Whatever.. I paid, then asked for the bathroom key.. grandma looked at me and gave another ugh, then called Mauro, aka a genius in customer relations.. they discussed it while looking at me and my child, then Mauro decided after the long discussion with grandma that the bathroom was out of service!! Really?! Is it that you don't want to move your flabs to go get the key, or does it give you power to hold the key to the bathroom?! Horrible customer service.. liars! Got my passport photo taken. Took 10 minutes. Photo quaility was excellent.

I wanted to return something without a receipt & had no problems. The clerk promptly called the Mgr, who immediately authorized issuance of a gift card for the purchase price -- no hassle, 10 minutes tops. Great service. read more

They have been spot on with my prescription calls. They also diligently follow up when I don't respond in time. In addition, the staff is quite friendly and willing to spend the extra time to make sure all your needs are met. read more
