A/C units all around the store. Lots of promotional items. It's pretty busy inside the store. Downside to coming into the store is, if you're picking up a prescription you can't help but look to see what else you need. Convenience is always a good idea. read more

I had just left the ER and they called in 3 prescriptions for pain to the Alpine cvs which was closed on arrival. I called the cvs in Santee and spoke to a female in the pharmacy who told me to come there and she would transfer the 3 prescriptions to there location. We drove the 35 minutes to Santee and when we got there she said that she could only find 1 prescription not 3. I called Sharp ER in La Mesa and they said all 3 were there and this happens all the time with cvs. In the end the pharmacy tech would not even transfer the 1 prescription because it was a schedule 2 narcotic. So I suffered all night and we spent hours going back and forth for nothing! Will NEVER use cvs pharmacy for anything ever again! They are heartless and cruel! read more

I would say this location is okay overall. Only nice thing about this CVS Is it's open 24 hours. Normally they are pretty well stocked. Store honestly overall is clean, not messy. But never anyone at the register always have to search the whole entire store to find anyone to get anyone to help you. Store is located in a convenient shopping center. Parking is not an issue or it shouldn't be considering I have always found parking even when it's busy. I will say also even for the pharmacy or the clinic here it always seems no one is there either. I am not quite sure if there is a shortage of staff or they just don't have enough people because no matter what time of the day I have come here it's like this store runs itself just simply a ghost town for employees. Absolutely rejected health care to me. I was given a Telehealth appointment by my insurance and had a few appointments with my doctor and got a prescription. They flat out rejected the prescription because it was a Telehealth. I saw my prescription was pending for some reason and called and they told me that they wanted my doctor to call and tell them he had seen me multiple times which he had and just had the doctors office call me back saying they are refusing to fill it out for me. The new manager... he is so rude. My DOCTOR sent in a prescription with details that I need to fill it early. The reason is I had a death in the family and I will be gone for longer than expected. I showed my Dr my plane ticket and everything and we were on the same page. Well the manager Jones or Jonas is so rude. 01/11/24 Called to have my meds delivered using SHIFT. Shift is a delivery service that's pretty amazing. You can have your meds delivered to your door step the next morning. That's if the counter person at CVS doesn't screw it up. I was VERY clear, do not put meds in the mail, use shift. "Oh yeah, I got it" You guessed it, next morning no delivery. Two days later meds show up in the mail. Counter people couldn't find their ass with both Hands. Incompetent, rude staff. Obviously hate their jobs. Talking to the manager is absolutely useless. How many years is this going to go on?? CVS corporate needs to clean house. Start fresh with ALL new pharmacy staff. read more

I went into the store today around 4:30 p.m. and the manager named Jean I must say she is so rude. The way she treated me another customers,and the Young man that was working the front ,it was appalling. I was trying to self check out because that was the only option so I scanned my two hair dyes and then it kept on beeping. So the young man that works there was trying to help me then Jean the manager abruptly interrupted us accused me of stealing by only scanning once even though I scanned twice in front of employee and customers. Be sure to double check with the Minute Clinic right after you book your appointment online to see if they accept your insurance because I wasted my morning waiting for my appointment in the waiting area for 30 minutes only to find out they don't accept Anthem Blue Cross HMO. When you make your appointment online, they don't tell you whether or not your insurance is accepted or not so it feels like a huge scam. It baffles me that they seemed so surprised that my insurance wasn't accepted EVEN THOUGH I entered all of my information and photos of my insurance card online when booking the appointment prior to coming in. Does no one check for this prior to the patients coming in? Because if that's the case, that's completely disorganized and irresponsible on their end. Someone should call the patients to let them know before coming in. They get you in there, tell you the insurance isn't accepted and if you're in really bad shape with no other choice you'll probably feel obligated to just pay the $200 for the test. Fortunately I wasn't too sick, so I walked out of there not paying and using any of their services but it all just gave me a bad feeling like I was getting scammed. I feel ethically this is wrong and they should be telling you at the time of the appointment or someone from the Minute Clinic should be calling in advance so people aren't wasting their time. Especially if they can still find another clinic or office that DOES accept their insurance. Surprised but not surprised with the way CVS handles the level of customer service. I had to go to this location vs the one near my home in El Cajon because that location did not have the particular hair color I wanted and I had a soon expiring coupon on it($9 off). I found what I needed soon after entering the store and a clerk up front was at the ready to help me check out. He was friendly, knowledgeable about my coupon and I was checked out quickly. I have a recurring monthly prescription and every single month they get something wrong. EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. Why wouldn't I go somewhere else, you ask? Because I stupidly think "surely they can't mess it up again?" but yes they can, in some new and inventive way. From never contacting the doctor, to contacting the insurance but telling them it was for some med I don't take, to texting me its ready and then restocking it for "lack of pickup" in less than an hour. Really surprised at how I was treated by Anna (or Hannah, one of those), the nurse practitioner at this pharmacy when I had scheduled a minute clinic visit. I explained my symptoms and problems and since I'm out of pocket - I could tell she was annoyed. She was rude and condescending and I decided to just up and leave and take my business elsewhere. I'm also a healthcare worker, and have never treated anybody so rudely. It's bad enough you're already vulnerable/embarrassed about coming in or nervous, but to have an NP make you feel any worse? They will remind you they close at 6:30 when there is maybe 1 or 2 people in the store and NO LINE. They tell you every 5 mins when they close even though again, There Is NO LINE! Why be in a rush and not helpful when there's no one waiting and there is still 20 minutes til you close. They are always nice, professional, fast, understanding, and accommodating. Even with difficult or angry customers the staff here remain calm and professional and they help you with a smile. I am very disappointed in this pharmacy. They first time I tried to use a GOOD RX card I was told, "You have insurance so you don't need this". I thought that was a mistake and researched it later. I should be able to use the card if it is cheaper than insurance. The next time I tried to use AARP discount card I was told, "Your prescription is only $8.00". Still, this is medication I will be on for life, so if I can get it cheaper using the discount card then apply it for me! Apparently, they are against customers using prescription discount cards. I understand they lose a few bucks on this and banking on customers purchasing other items while in the store. Taking my business to Walgreens Pharmacy where they are super nice. read more

There are only two things that I "like" about this pharmacy. 1: Its opened 24 hours so I can come after work late at night and pick up my prescriptions. 2: Its easy to order prescriptions online through the app with a few easy clicks. What really bothers me about this pharmacy is the fact that they can never seem to fill my prescriptions correctly, which becomes a huge hassle between my doctor, my insurance company, and myself. The biggest problem I have with this place is that they seem to want to SHORT me on my prescriptions. My insurance will only cover certain medical devices for a 3 month supply, yet some how the pharmacy will short me here and there on some of these devices, charge me for the whole three month subscription, and tell me I'm SOL come time when I need the remainder of my prescriptions before I can fill again. Leaving me without my medical devices for weeks. The latest incident was last night when I picked up a bunch of my prescriptions. It was late and the pharmacist seemed to have been in a rush or something. He hands me two full light material stapled paper bags (falling apart in the parking lot while walking to my car) worth of my stuff, has me pay (which is very expensive, which he was very focal about) and basically walks away after the the financial transaction was made. I get home and I notice I am missing yet another box worth of devices that I need for the full three months. I immediately call and he tells me that he needs to review the cameras..... what, why?!? Just give me what I paid for. whatever. He puts me on hold for 15 minutes and comes back claiming there was nothing he could do because he can't access the camera footage after hours to accommodate my claim. I politely expressed that these prescriptions are not cheap and I need all of what i ordered and paid for, especially since my insurance won't cover anything outside of this three months. He told me I could take it up with my insurance company or I can call back during normal business hours and "maybe" they will help me out depending on what the camera footage shows. I really don't have a bunch of time on my hands dilly daddiling on the phone or in person, arguing back and forth with these people, looking through camera footage, just to determine that they cant get their jobs together enough to fulfill these very important things that keep people ALIVE....especially for what these things cost. I will however put enough time into finding a better 24 hour location and report the Santee CVS pharmacy to the bureau. read more
